SUPPER CLUB - Sat, May 31st
Welcome to the weekend!
JANA - are you rested up yet from chasing the little ones around? You are right - it's for the young!
IRISH - so how was your pantry 'find'? You know, I cleaned my pantry a few weeks ago (and my medicine cabinet). You really know how time is passing when you look at those exp. dates! Yikes!! Hope your 'helper' was still "among the living".
BECCA - your kids won't be so far away - only about 1.5 hours from me! you can come visit us all any time you like! Hoodsport is very near another tiny community called Lilliwaup, also on Hood Canal. My parents lived there in a logging camp for a while when they were first married.
Well, no cooking for us tonite - again! We're invited to friends in Olympia. I have no idea what is on the menu. They know about my seafood thing and she doesn't eat pork, beef, dairy, wheat, potatoes, tomatoes, or anything spicy. So I guess that leaves chicken of some sort, brown rice, and salad. Let's see how close I come with my guess. I'm taking an appetizer (crackers with cream cheese and pineapple salsa).
Enjoy your supper - whatever or whereever you eat!

Good Afternoon All......OK so have been AWOL this week.....but I do have my excuses ready.......

still had to eat....thanks to my SC.....today though it has been out for Full English Breakfast....Sausage Egg Bacon Mushrooms Tomatoes Black Pudding Toast and Coffee....feeling quite content now.....and ready for a snooze.....tomorrow we may have to go to see our friend who recently we helped to celebrate his big "O" birthday....there is a tale to this visit.....which I will relate after the visit......

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, May 31st
Good morning from a very sunny and getting warmer, Sw. Pa...It's going to be a darn near purrrfect day.....And just as I wrote that, Momma ground hog poked her head out of the bushes to see if I was right....Oh my, here comes the family, she must have given the OK....
Mary, the "helper" was still ok, just barely and in fact, turned out pretty good. Jim went back for 2nds...
Becca, if my DS, DD or anyone related decides to move any where close to Mary, you know I'd be visiting.....That area has to be one of my 1st choices to see, plus get together with the "Zs"., that would be great......
Carol, been wondering where you were...It sounds like you really had week and if it were me, I'd also need the wine, couple of glasses...But, I certainly do love to read your posts..The way you write makes us right there with you....Looking forward to the next tale...
This afternoon I'm off to visit a friend in a nursing home..This gal had surgery and of course they found cancer and now she's in the home for rehab until further treatments...
And as far as our dinner, it could be left overs from last night or maybe just toasted cheese with fresh tomato sandwiches and a salad....No, the tomatoes are not form my garden but when bought they still had the vine if that means anything.....Right now, as close as we're going to get.....
Happy eating.............

Good morning!
I think that something will jump from the freezer to the grill tonight with a side caesar salad. My favorite PNW dish! LOL
I am recovered from the little ones - they were good - only one three y/o tantrum - which I don't put up with - he spent time out for a while, then was fine. There are rules at Grandma's that are different than at home - he is not told no very often.
Well need to scoot - gorgeous day here in the Mountain West - and weeds are growing faster that I can type the word! Sarah has banned round-up in the yard, so we are doing the old fashioned way - now that she has learned to be a Master Gardener - sheesh - give me my round up back! LOL
Enjoy!

Good Morning!
CAROL - so good to see you!! Love your posts! And your stories! right now my sewing room is a shambles, too. I have a big space-taking project going on in there. It's a small room to begin with already jam-packed - then extend my cutting table all the way, add a full-sized ironing board and a getting-bigger-every-day sheltie who loves to chase his tail around and around an around, and there's hardly room for me!
BECCA & IRISH - maybe you need to put your DH's together for a few days, and hop a Delta flight west . . . I bet the two of you could get into all kinds of fun trouble together. And I would help!
JANA - I've never used much Round-up because I think about what it does to the bugs, worms, birds, critters, and water table. Bill has taken to torching weeds where he won't hurt other plants (and sometimes where he will!).
It's chilly now, but will warm up this afternoon, so it will be purrfect grilling weather. We have pork chops and chicken in the freezer, so one of them will make it to the grill. I'm not sure what our sides will be - we have never-ending salad with some of those purchased tomatoes 'on the vine'. and I think we have a couple aging potatoes left in the pantry. There's ice cream for afters if we remember. I think we will not starve!
hoping no one is starving at your house!
