My Mystery Blocks, HELP

I got to touch fabric today! WooHoo

I found a bag with these blocks and fabric. Now I do remember buying it, at the quilt shop in Kenora, Ontario, Canada, a few years back. In fact, I did the bigger blocks one year and then I bought fabric to do the smaller blocks. I didn't take a photo, but have more fabric. A fabric with bears on it, a golden color fabric and a brown color fabric. I think these were for for big blocks, for borders and such.

My problem.....I don't know what these blocks are called. Can anyone help me figure this out.

Here's the big blocks, some sewn together and what the blocks look like before sewn together. I have several more, so guess I was going to make a larger quilt.

HELP! Does anyone know the names of these blocks. And if you know what I was trying to accomplished, please give me a hint. LOL I know I had two different projects going.

LYN, could you bring up a history of your posts here? Maybe you told us what you were doing at the time. But they are great blocks! Love the fabrics!

Good idea Mary, I will try. Can't believe I didn't have patterns with blocks. I'm usually more organized.

Lyn, the top blocks looks like a Bonnie Hunter block called Strip Twist. Check her site out under the Free Patterns. Could you be doing/use the other as a Disappearing 9 Patch???? Best of luck to you.

Thanks Maryz, I did hunt back and on Aug. 1, 2009 we have a night time chat going until the wee hours. I was sewing 'disappearing 9 patches' and watching the conversation. So, that solves the smaller block. Will have to hunt later and see if I can find the answer to the big blocks.
