SUPPER CLUB - Mon, March 31st
Can you believe tomorrow is April?? Doesn't that mean more flowers should be in your yard than snowflakes?
IRISH - I'm going to write down your 'hulshulki' recipe. It sounds worth a try! your eagle babies made the ABC World News last night! I kept pointing to the screen and telling Bill, "Those are Irish's eagles!!"
BECCA - oh, I love that salad! I've always called it Broccoli Salad, but from now on it's going to be Ugly Salad on my menu! lol!!
JO - I use turkey kielbasa for lots of recipes from pea soup to spaghetti to skillet suppers. But those steak specials do sound tempting - and I'm not a big red meat fan. But when I'm in the mood, I'll take a filet mignon every time!
LYN - someday I'll get a smart phone - maybe. But not sure I want a phone that's smarter than I am!
the split pea soup I made yesterday turned out really good. The problem is the quantity. I think we'll be eating soup for breafast, lunch, and dinner all week long! Does anyone know if pea soup freezes well?

Good morning from a very sunny but still chilly, SW. Pa....BUT, we're to get up into the high 50s today and even higher tomorrow....Can this really be spring????
Today is our Pirate home opener and it's going to be a great day...Besides, we think our 3rd egg is going to hatch...
Mary, glad you got to see our eagles...It has been so fascinating and so addicting...It's no wonder they are our national symbol....
Not sure if your soup would freeze, can't help with that one...And I agree about the smart phone...I have an old type flip up thing that I pay by usage and it's fine with me...
Becca, I also love that "ugly" salad....I have a friend that always makes it for our picnics etc. and it is the best.....
And for our dinner, I'm finally making that stew that Mary made last week and had me drooling over...I usually have the meat cooking in the crock pot all night but it smells so good, it keeps me awake, so today it will cook all day......And if I get time, I might bake something, if not, there's always those store bought cookies that jumped in our buggy at Aldi's yesterday........
Happy eating..................

Good afternoon!
Just got back from shopping - very productive trip - I got a new (to me) Pfaff sewing machine. Whoo-hoo! It is a very gently loved machine - I really don't think that anyone ever sewed on it - looks brand new.
So dinner is the tortilla soup that I having been trying to make for thw last few days - something always seems to get in the way - but tonight's the night!
Sarah has frozen split pea soup and it does fine. DDIL made some the other night - forgot that she had the split peas cooking on the stove - went upstairs and then smelled something - ran back down - was able to save the split peas, only a small portion started to burn - turned out to be the best that she had ever made! LOL
Enjoy!
