SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 27tj
Good morning from HOME!
We had a nice trip, good weather if you don't count the blowing snow in northern CO at the beginning and the hard rain in southern WA at the end of the trip! Glad we made it in 3 days because bad weather is really setting in today, I hear.
We aren't near the slides - they are about 80 mi NE of us. We are actually on the Olympic Peninsula of WA, on the western side of Puget Sound, directly across the water from Tacoma. But what a tragedy that was. Last count was 24 dead and 90 still missing.
Hope Carol gets back on-line soon. I, too, miss her wit! She always makes me laugh!
Last night's supper was almost pizza, delivered, but then about noon I got to thinking about poached eggs. I love poached eggs on toast and we had eggs and bread that needed to be eaten, so that's what we ended up having along with sliced tomatoes. Tonite will be pot roast in the crockpot with potatoes and carrots.
Hope your kitchen will be smelling as good as mine!

Good afternoon from sunny, getting warmer but still chilly, SW. Pa.....
Welcome Home, Mary.....Back to reality! Thank goodness you're not near the mud slides....
On the news, they have shown a little boy being rescued and brought up in a helicopter...It's his father who was from our area...The father and 3 of his children are missing....Such tragedy......
I had big plans for today but so far I've sat in front of the computer watching the eagle cam from Pgh...The momma is sitting on 3 eggs and today we should have a baby...It is so darn addicting, I can't leave the screen.....
And as far as dinner, oh well, depending on a baby, we might not eat, lol....But, I might make some sloppy joes and skillet potatoes....If I turn the screen just right, I can still watch it from the kitchen.....That baker is still on strike...This way, Jim will really, really appreciate whatever I bake, when the strike ends....He's helping with elderly bingo so he'll get his sugar fix this afternoon......
Mary, I'm sure the aromas coming from your kitchen are the best....I might just have to dig out a roast for this weekend.....
Happy eating................

Yes, Maryz, my kitchen smells lovely today. I am using the crock pot too. It has been simmering all day. The yummy smells have my tummy rumbling and hungry. LOL
Boneless ribs, with cream of onion soup and a few tablespoons of a great BBQ sauce from our Texas HEB!! I am adding scalloped potatoes, green beans, and a bowl of fruit for dessert.
Let's Eat!! OOPS too early yet.

Late to post, but I will tell you what we had. A very nice couple had several of us over for a fish(Oops)fry and everyone brought a dish. They put the deserts first on the table and the fish at the end. Boy, did the men like that!! Lots of good food and wonderful friends. Several, including Velda, will be leaving in the next few days.
We are here for another month.
