Supper Club, Feb., 6th, Thursday......

Post by Irishgram » Thu Feb 06, 2014 7:25 am

Hey, where is everyone??? Is no one eating today?????

To tell you the truth, I had forgotten about dinner...See what happens when the oven gets sick, the mind (or at least mine) goes too....But, I finally woke up and found some nice round steak centers....Racking my brain, don't laugh, I decided to cut them in little strips, threw them in the crock pot with package of gravy mix, a little of that Italian salad mix and told them to cook...I might add some mushroom soup and then serve with noodles....Almost like a beef stroganoff but lacking the sour cream..That is what you put in stroganoff, isn't it? And as far as afters, no oven, no goodies......Jim will have to settle for ice cream and graham crackers....Maybe tomorrow we'll go shopping, maybe.......

So what are you finding in your freezer?????

Happy eating..............

Good Evening All.....guess you know by now......our weather contains lots and lots of rain......the news is....this is the wettest winter since records began....and we have also been told.....we have enough water to last until September....now....."they" wouldnt dare to put in a hosepipe ban this summer.....think there would be lots and lots of naughty words bandied about if they tried that on.......

there is now a rather large tarpaulin gracing my freezers in the Laundry room.....the roof is literally falling apart.....if we could string 2 or 3 dry days together....in theory we could have a new roof.....but those dry days are definitely not in our near future......all that said......we are so much luckier than the people in Somerset in the south-west.....they are really suffering.......

Yesterday was about post when I had a phone call from my Cindy....we hadn't spoken for about 10 days......that call lasted nearly 2 hours.....so now you know why no appearance was forth coming.....did try promise.....but by then I was ready for my bed.......

I will try to catch up on everybody and their news.....but at the moment......life is getting in the way......

the only thing I can say with any certainty.....is that my cooker isn't sick......shame......so today on the table was......

Fried Potatoes....Welsh Dragons.....Eggs and Grilled Tomatoes.....and for afters....wait for it........Rice Pudding.......

Good afternoon!

I am down in the Batt Cave - cleaning up yogurt snacks, m&m's, and pretzels - Ethan was watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - the only DVD that was in his reach! LOL I have been sewing - don't have to worry about dinner - I started a pot roast in the crock pot several hours ago - knowing that Sarah and Ethan would be here to sew. Some days I have a few smarts! LOL

Irish - cookies are abounding around here - but not homemade ones - DH went on a cookie spree at the store the other day - these are sugar free so he can eat them.

Becca - love apple fritters - sprinkled with lots of powdered sugar - I sure don't need the sugar free stuff! LOL

Carole - glad that you haven't floated away yet! We sure could use of the excess rain that you have - my son is a rice farmer in California with a huge drought - he is wondering if he is going to get his crops in this year.

Well - I need to check on that roast - dinner isn't for several hours -

Enjoy
Jana
