SUPPER CLUB - 'Tues. Nov 19th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Nov 19, 2013 4:28 am

Good Morning, Fellow Cookers and Diners!

My chicken soup was really good last night, but I added every little thing I could find from the freezer leftovers - extra broth, veggies, noodles. It made a pot that would feed us all! So, it will be with us for a few days. But I think I'll freeze a good portion of it to have on one of those days when I just don't know what to cook!

But for tonite - soup, it is!

What's smokin' up YOUR kitchen for tonite?

Good early afternoon from cold, dreary, SW. Pa...Yep, it's cold today and I'm not lovin it not even liking it a little......

Mary, your soup sounds purrrfect..I have decided, not being a good soup maker, from now on, it's Progresso or quarts that I've gotten where we have breakfast...I'm always so disappointed with my own...Jim eats it but then "Mikey eats anything".....AND another revolution, I really can't eat chili...I'll tell you, this getting old is not for whimps......

But, tonight will be the left over Chili for Jim (which he loved last night) and for myself, who knows....I did make bread yesterday and also made one into cinnamon bread so that might be my dinner....

Happy eating.................

Missed yesterday...no "dinner with the Pringles" for us..Earl isn't totally "up to speed" from the surgery on Friday...so I cooked a peppercorn pork loin from Market Day...with Au Grauten Potatoes and corn with some garlic knots.

Tonight was the rest of the pork loin all chopped by Earl and mixed with BBQ sauce and brown sugar.."his secret recipe"...and served over buns...with some baked beans and cole slaw..and leftover mac and cheese.

Now it's dark and late! The big storm sort of skipped over...a few limbs down, but that was it. We did spend about an hour in the basement with Earl's daughter and her husband..and Kirby..the long haired daughtson..the one that I made the quilt for!
