SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Oct 10th

Yikes! As I just typed the date, I realized it's DH's sister's birthday. Of course, DH wouldn't even remember his own birthday, so it's always me who buys, writes, and sends the cards. Not sure if this one is his bad or mine! With two loads of company arriving, first today, and then tomorrow, my mind has been filled. That's my story.

CAROL - things seem to be going from bad to worse for your plumbing issues! Thank God for your sharp sense of humor! I don't know if it's helping things at your end, but it's been giving ME a chuckle!!

Supper tonite is going to be good! I'm doing a pork loin roast in the crockpot, garlic mashed potatoes, carrots, rolls, and maybe a salad. Company is bringing wine, cheese, and dessert. It will be good to see them!

There's going to be plenty if any of you want to stop by!

I went down the mountain yesterday. Picked up my Bernina 440 from the Motorhome and took it and the embroidery unit to my Bernina dealer. GOOD NEWS!!! My embroidery unit works. YIPPEE! I think it's completely dry, so maybe there's no rust inside that could mess up running. Time will tell. The old computer with my designs on it is dead, but our computer geek guy will try to get them off the hard drive. If that doesn't work, I will go to each company and download them again. It's nice that they keep a record and once you have paid you can always get them again.

Other good news, I had plugged in the Bernina 1530 and it came on. So maybe it will be Ok. I took it to the repair shop.

Good early afternoon from chilly, but a very sunny, gorgeous, Fall like day in SW. Pa.....We've had our furnace running, not for me, but for Jim...The last couple of years, I find him turning up the heat more and more......

Mary, if I hadn't already made plans for tonight, I'd be there...And to think I'm going to be eating a roast beef sandwich and a pickle, sure doesn't sound as tempting as your dinner...Enjoy your company....

Carol, I agree with the others...You certainly do bring lots of joy to this side of the pond...And as much as we chuckle, we also do hope and pray you find some answers to those problems....

Well, dinner????? Since I'll be having that pickle, I'm thinking Jim might be having a hot ham/cheese sandwich, some sort of soup AND maybe a pickle....I did break down and bake chocolate chip cookies yesterday so he'll be in good shape for afters....Of course the bingo gals might feed him extra good and he won't want my tempting dinner.....

Good Evening All.....well that weather man was right....the temps have taken a really cold dip and that wind was beginning to dance quite fast......and right on que.....the electricity people tell us the bills are going up....quicker than an umbrella.....if there were real people in charge.........

Todays menu was Thursday on Thursday....Egg and Chips....quite mundane after yesterday....but there was a Trifle for afters.....

Since I was introduced to the "Slow Cooker" page...I have shopped for a few more Sauces to try out the recipes.....something else I didn't know was a whole chicken can be cooked in one also bread can be baked.....and one of my favourites.....Lasagne....I'm going to have a ball with all these......got Chicken Korma going at the moment.....ready for the bonfire meet in 3 weeks time......

Now the continuing "Odour" saga.....the fellas are back in their warm and fragrant offices.....and are going to send us a letter.....oh goody....I"d rather have a man....well a whole team of men.....digging up the road to find just where the "odour" is coming from.....we are convinced now that there are broken pipes around.....
now let me say....I don't drink.....BUT.....2 bottles of wine found their way into my shopping this morning....so tomorrow you may get a running commentary on....the supper.....the odour....the wine .....or all three.....

Well, since Earl decided for me...we are going to Mama's Grill for dinner tonight.

Last night we took Earl's two sons and their families out to Frisch's Big Boy to eat...they stored and stacked a truckload of lumber overhead in our shed attic for us.

But, tomorrow I cook! The Homecoming Parade is at 6pm and we always walk to the corner to watch..and I will be making the banana bars (thanks again Irish for the wonderful recipe!)so I will cook, too.

Well, it's time to move!
