SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Oct 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Oct 02, 2013 3:56 am

Looks like our rain isn't heading anywhere for a while. We're trying to wring out every last drop we can.

LYN - so sorry about all the flooding problems you are dealing with. You sound so tired. I wish we could all be there to help. Your pizza places in E.P. must be booming.

JUDI - I was afraid you'd say that about gluten. I LOVE gluten! But I'm thinking seriously of trying to go without it for a month.

We have rice left from last night, so I'm thinking of making some chicken & rice soup. This is definitely "soupy" weather!

What's going on your plate tonite?

Thank you all for your kind words. We will get through this.

Jana - The 2 batches of fabric that got really soaked I had to throw out, they smelled too bad. I tried soaking some in Borax, which has helped the other fabrics that were damp. But it didn't work.

One batch of fabric and blocks was from a Mystery Quilt I did from Quilters Club of America.

Maryz - Chicken and rice soup sounds really good.

I went to the store yesterday, so choices tonight will be T _ _ a Noodle Casserole or homemade pizza.

Oh, did I mention on top of everything else, my cell phone quit on Sunday. Got a replacement yesterday. Now have to find the time to get everything back on it.

And one more. Got the report back and it says we might have a small change of asbestos in the drywall. I'm sure that will make it more expensive to remove.

Good afternoon from warm, semi sunny, gorgeous Fall Day here in SW. Pa......It is a good day, our Pirates won last night and now it's off to St. Louis.....

Mary, it sure does sound like soup weather and nothing warms the bones and the heart like chicken soup....Today our temps will go to 80 and that's more like outside grilling than soup.....

Lyn, my heart goes out to you having all that mess...I just can't imagine what you're going through.....

And, in fact, I think I've talked myself into burgers on the grill...I might even make some potato salad and that will be dinner.....Jim gave me a smile...He said he was hungry for Mac n cheese, the real kind...You know the one in the blue box! So that's what Jim had for lunch.....

Happy eating............

Becca, years ago...like 1965! My husband and I went to a dentist..my husband had never been. The dentist couldn't find any teeth that needed filling, so he xrayed him and found 4 or 5. We told him no..and never went back. I don't think he ever had a problem with fillings! So I'm with you...

Lyn, what a mess...I just can't imagine all the work.

Irish, your Pirates won fair and square last night...beat the stuffing out of our Reds. I'll be rooting for them against the Cardinals on Friday!!

Maryz, we were supposed to have some rain this afternoon, but nothing! High of 83 and humid...ugh...I'm sick of this humidity!

Tonight we go to Mama's!! I went to Maysville with my two friends today so I get two meals out in one day! Yippppeeee!

LYN - I've had disaster due to fire, but imagine there some similiarities. I got a solution from the cleaners that I washed what little clothing survived and it removed odors. What was left, I hung on a clothesline for several days and that helped, too. Also, I've been told that vinegar helps to remove odors. Wish I could be there to help!
