Supper club, Sept. 21st......

Post by Irishgram » Sat Sep 21, 2013 4:54 am

Good morning from warm, but rainy, SW. Pa....We're supposed to get hard rains but so far. a nice soft one.....

Well, today is the big wedding and that means I'll be there most of the afternoon....Rehearsal last night was interesting, way too many people...I'll sure earn my money with this one!......

And with that in mind, I guess I won't be around to cook, gosh darn! But, this might be a day for picking up, ordering out or maybe just not eating (and believe me, I could go a day or 2 without)....But I'm sure the "man of the house" won't starve....

So, who's eating and who's not????

Happy eating for those who are.............

We will have a light supper tonight T--A sandwiches and tomatoe soup for me...T--a salad with lettuce for Ken (wheat free diet) I am running out of ideas to keep the man happy with food....He is doing so well In case you are wondering,,,wheat is a known inflammatory, Irritating everything from blood sugar to arthritis, so ken has been off it pretty much for a month, His knees no longer hurt and he has NO swelling, his blood sugars are within normal all the time, he has lost 25 lbs. So absolutely proud of him....he does eat oat and other grains but not much. Wish he like Quinoa cause I could do so much with it but he hates it. I like it myself...

I'm here! and I plan to eat today. But I really don't want to plan to cook. So what else is new! haha!

IRISH - you are the organist for weddings, right? Or for some funerals, I know mourners are rented. Are you from rent-a-guest? At our wedding, Bill told all his co-workers, who marveled that he knew so many folks, that he got them from Rent-a-Guest.

JUDI - I didn't know that about wheat. It would explain a lot in my world! Maybe I need to rethink my diet . . . Have you tried making bread with any of the other flours that are out there - like rice? Personally, I love all grains, so subbing quinoa, cous-cous, rice, oats, etc isn't much problem for me.

For our dinner, we have 2 nice ears of corn and salad. I just need to figure out what to put with them - Maybe a flattened, Panko-breaded, chicken breast.

Hello from rainy Carolina.A gentle soft rain like IRISH.'s,

JUDI I had heard that about wheat.Cannot believe the weight loss.Surely not in a month.Good for him & you too trying to come up with meals.

IRISH I was wondering if you were a wedding Director but MARYz has you in other area.Straighten us out.

Since it is raining we went out for dinner.DH had steak.I had turkey sandwich, & salad. They have a brownie bite w/ice cream. We had that & DH brought his pound cake home for his evening treat.....Becca

Back again and very, very tired....

To set the record straight, I'm the wedding coordinator at our church, not the organist, heaven forbid....I do meet with our organist before the weddings, just to know what's happening with the music....
I love this job but every once in awhile you get have a wedding (as today's) where you just want to scream....But I was in church and held my scream inside.....Next one is in 2 weeks and I'm hoping it's a nice quiet one....

Tonight's dinner was a spinach salad, potatoes, brocolli and steak with garlic toast on the side.

Judi - Congratulations to your DH! Great weight loss.

Mary - Your dinner sounds good too! Ours tonight was a break from the usual chicken and turkey we eat.

Becca - No cooking sounds good anytime!

Irish - Some weddings are definitely not traditional!

Good Night Everyone!
Carol
