I like it because it relaxes me. I learned to knit when I was 8 years old. A friend's Mother of mine taught her and me. My Mother purchases the knitting needles. The needles were different colors. My friend and I took one of each color. Sometimes when I knit, I think about that.
A couple of years ago, I made potatoes chip scarves for my daughter and 2 of her friends for Christmas.
I located a pattern for a knitted necklace that I would like to make, but the pattern is a bit confusing. I hope when I have time to sit down and try it out, it will be less so. It is made with size 3 needles and crochet thread plus beads.

I too started knitting at a young age and have been knitting for almost 60 years. For me , it is prettier than crochet (smoother) and easier. Crocheting really hurts my hands way more than knitting. I have made knitted squares that remind me of quilting, just no batting or backing. It is very relaxing and a little more portable than quilting. I love both. I think creative minds have many outlets! We are multi-talented!
