SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Sept 5th

Good thunderous morning! and thunder there be at my house! I love it!

LYN - I'm still laughing! ". . . going mac'n'cheesing today. . .". You're too funny!

IRISH - the chili is going to be in the crockpot in a few hours. I know about stuff getting lost in the freezer. Could you can leftover chili? I mean, you're already canning - right? I've never done it.

CAROL - trying to picture you on the back of a 'hog'! lol!!

JANA - my sis keeps her extra paper goods in her freezer when it's not full up.

So, tonite is chili night. (and probably for 3 more nights to come!) and about a month back, I got all efficient (for camping) and already mixed up all the dry ingredients for cornbread. So cornbread's on the menu, too. No salad. We need to get to the store one of these days . . .

Morning from party sunny, not sure what's going to happen, SW. Pa...It's warm, not as warm as I'd like but it's not snow......

Mary, you know, I've never tried canning chili but I'll bet it "can" be done......Years ago, my mother used to can meat (beef) and it had to have been the best I've ever eaten...Of course that was before she discovered the freezer, you know back in the dark ages....I really don't do much any more, just the relish and if we have an over abundance of tomatoes, I'll make sauce...Our garden isn't what it used to be or should I say, I'm not like I used to be, lol.....

This is Jim's day with the "bingo ladies" and I'm hoping they take extra good care of him....Once again, I'm not sure what might appear on our table tonight...I do have some errands to run and maybe, just maybe I might pick up something....I seem to be in a rut, haven't baked or really cooked.....Gotta get with it!

So, what's going to appear on your table?????

Happy eating.................

Hello Ladies.Sunny warm day here.Feels like Fall is in the air.

Got shopping & errands done this morning. As I was going out road below our house.first the deers ran out in front of me,then a ig black cow is walking in middle of road.I did not drive fast after that.

Since the company is coming we had leftovers trying to clean out frig.

IRISH If you are like me it does not take much to get you tired of canning.I freeze everything but still do very little compared to what I used to do.

Happy eating.....Becca

Good Evening All......wispy veils of mist and a definite hint of autumnal chill in the air this morning.....but it warmed up and got quite cheerful by mid morning....

Well it appears Chilli is cooking in other kitchens as well as my own.....do you know I don't know how much has been cooked......I think enough for 10 servings at least.....it will be going in the freezer shortly ready for our caravan meet at the end of the month....have also done some Chicken Korma.....but as most people want that.....have to do quite a bit more.....thank God for slow-cookers....and freezers.....

Have been interested in the talk of "Silver Water"....my granddaughter Emma has to have another operation....she has cysts on her ovaries and tubes.....this next one will be the 3rd in about a year......its keyhole surgery....so there is a lot of scar tissue and pain.....never heard of the "silver water" thingy.....will have to ask the dressings nurse if she has......

Today.....it was Egg and Chip day....with Grilled Tomatoes.....and for afters ......Rice Pudding.....now that did make Sir a happy bunny....his favourite afters.....

Carol
