Mother's
Thought all the mother's out there might enjoy this.
Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back
to normal after you've had a baby.... somebody
doesn't know that once you're a mom, "normal" is
history.
Somebody said you learn how to be a mom by
instinct .... somebody never took a three-year-old
shopping.
Somebody said being a mom is boring ....
somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager
with a driver's permit. Somebody said if you're a
"good" mom, your child will "turn out
good"....somebody thinks a child comes with
directions and a guarantee.
Somebody said "good" moms never raise their
voices .... somebody never came out the back door
just in time to see her child hit a golf ball
through the neighbor's kitchen window.
Somebody said you don't need an education to be a
mom.... somebody never helped a fourth grader
with his math.
Somebody said you can't love the second child as
much as you love the first ... somebody doesn't
have two children.
Somebody said a mom can find all the answers to
her child-rearing questions in the books....
somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose
or in his ears.
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mom
is labor and delivery....somebody never watched her
"baby" get on the bus for the first day of
kindergarten .... or on a plane headed for military
"boot camp."
Somebody said a mom can do her job with her
eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back
somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies
to sell cookies.
Somebody said a mom can stop worrying after her
child gets married....somebody doesn't know that
marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a
mom's heartstrings.
Somebody said a mom's job is done when her last
child leaves home....somebody never had
grandchildren.
Somebody said your mom knows you love her, so
you don't need to tell her.... somebody isn't a
mom.
Pass this along to all the "moms" in your life
and to everyone who ever had a mom. This isn't
just about being a mom; it's about appreciating
the people in your life while you have them....no
matter who that person is.

Re: Mother's
Mothers day is so hard for me...I miss my mom and my mother in law so much. Lost both within six months of each other three years ago. Was very locky to have two women that were so loving and such great role models for all my DDs and I.
I loved the saying and know they would have also. Thanks for sharing, even if I am sitting here crying like a baby.
Each of you give your moms a hug for those of us who can't anymore. So glad I will have one of my five DDs home with me. Have a wonderful Mother's Day.
Happy stitching!!

Re: Mother's
zfatcat - that is beautiful. This is a very depressing week & weekend for me. My mother died on Mother's Day in 1970 and I've missed her terribly every day since. All the pre-Mother's Day ads on radio and TV and cards at the grocery store & pharmacy get my depression kicked in and the closer it gets to MD, the more depressed I get. Sorry, I don't mean to be a party pooper. I'll be better next week. I do wish all you mothers a very happy Mother's Day!

Re: Mother's
cindyg & astitchintime, I can't even imagine being without my mother. Although I know there will come a day when I will be. I live on the same street as my parents. In fact their 54th wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I love living close. You don't have to see eachother every day, but you know they're there. It's very comforting.
