Good morning,

It was a rough night from midnight on. I finally gave up and moved to my recliner and heating pad at 2:30. PM meds don't help much. I'll nap a little here, hopefully. But boy, was it a good football afternoon and evening! First the Broncos won (our secondary team), and then the Seahawks took San Francisco by storm, 41-6. A great day to be a Seahawk fan!

JANA - How are baby and Kate doing? Will she have help at home? I've had 3 C-sections. It takes a while to get very mobile again. Maybe we should look around for a preemie sized Seahawk shirt for little Enoch! :D And speaking of babies, how is Zion doing? I came across another person named Zion - I think in the football world.

CHRISS - thanks for the info on the little Ghost book. It will be here in a few days. I'm making my dinos all sorts of bright colors. I'm using all batiks. Yesterday I made the last two and frogged the first two because the colors didn't pop with the gray background. Since I don't have a lot of extra background, I want to "repurpose" the pieces in the first blocks. I love the idea of a broom/jacket closet. I doubt you need that big of a pantry. It's all going to work our purrfectly!

LORI - I've always wanted to go to the big quilt show in Sisters in July. This was going to be the year. I don't think we're going to make it. But we have stayed in the campground there in town before. It's pretty cool with all the trees, etc. I love the Stitchin' Post shop. They have an entire wall of batiks, my favorite type of fabrics. I can never resist them.

LYN - I've never had a Dr. Pepper shake. I think it would be better without the blackberry, too. Is Dr. Pepper shake a regular at Wataburger? When we are there, I usually just stick with water. Did K&D come visit? They come from San Antonio area, right? I hope your allergies settle down. That cedar fever is rough and usually lasts well into February, we're told. We usually leave by mid-January. It even bothers me and I don't "do" allergies.

Mary Q - sorry the Michael's you went to didn't have fabric. Ours does, though not a lot. My Sew'n'Vac store where I buy my sewing machines and take them for service, started carrying fabric after Joann's closed. They even queried their customer mailing list asking what kinds of fabrics people would most like to see there. Plus we have our tiny LQS here in G.H. which seems to be booming. They expanded and now have a classroom, open sews, and sell Bernies. Come visit and shop!! I like the way you think of your eye exams and the changes in your eyes. I think I'm up to about 50 cents! But insurance tells me I have to wait until May for a new exam. Kudos on finishing all these little quilts!

JUDI - Carbs - my favorite food group. Isn't about 200/day average? I need to adjust my own diet, too. But so hard. Your day out with Ken yesterday sounds like it was nice - especially that store you went to! Did you take a cooler with you? Sounds like you put on some miles. Hope your grocery trip today isn't a big one. We also need a few things. Bill might just go alone. We'll see. Hope today is a sewing day.

LOIS - You've got snow? Wish we had a snowy few days. We are still having sunny 50's. Nice but I do like snow. Six elf quilts? Sounds like you are doing them one by one rather than assembly line. Are you using different fabrics for each one?

Yesterday Bill did four loads of laundry. He just sits in his recliner which is 10 feet from the W/D and reads/naps between loads. I think he actually enjoyed it. I made my last two dinosaurs. Then we watched both the Denver and Seattle games. Both teams won! I frogged my first two dinosaurs because the colors just didn't work for me. I'm salvaging all the background pieces to remake the blocks in brighter colors. So I'll be working on those today. Supper will be leftover sweet'n'sour chicken over rice.

Have a super Sunday!

Good rainy morning from Myrtle beach. It will be much of the day with on and off. I guess I'll just have to suffer and sew. Oh!! the pain of it all! LOL.
Almost done on a qov then I hope to get some small items that have been on my list. I bought patterns from MS when they had the sale (10) and I really liked them so now I want to start at least 1 of them soon. Just add them to the list I guess.
I hope everyone is doing well. For those in need of a hug or a shoulder to cry on-you have some amazing un-seen sisters here on this site.

Sunny, but cold. I won't complain about 20° since Y'all up north are much lower.

Whataburger only has the Dr Pepper shake a few times a year.
The kids didn't come up. Kaylyn says they will come next weekend. That was fine by me. Maybe the house will be cleaner by then. Kaylyn is just south of San Antonio and Dean lives in Boerne. For you who aren't familiar, as you read Boerne, it's pronounced Burny. Germans settled the area. People get real upset if you pronounce stuff wrong.
MaryZ, I wish I didn't 'DO' Cedar fever, too. Some days are better than others.

Diane, I thank you for your cyber hug and send one back. 💞

Yesterday I trimmed Garry's beard. He was awake and speaking clearly. Marilyn, his little sister, had a birthday a few days back. It was on one of his not good days. I asked if he wanted to video call her and he said yes. He wished her a belated Happy Birthday and made a joking comment about BIL, Jason's beard.

I came home and did 2 loads of laundry. I have a beading project that I want to work on and decided I would set it up on the dining table and watch the Broncos game. That didn't work well. You see, after dinner Minnie and I have a thing, I will push back from the table and pick Minnie up, who is waiting for this, and she will cuddle on my chest for a nap as I'm watching TV. This started in the MH years ago. So, I sit down to bead and she decides it's cuddle time. I will have to try beading on a TV tray as I sit in my recliner, so she can sit with me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning Girls

Man..... It's COLD!!!

Judi..... I wonder if your General Store is like or related to the one here in Minnetonka--a suburb west of Minneapolis. I thought it sounded familiar so I googled it---it sure looks fun. Might be worth a trip down there---when the weather warms up.

Lois.... How is Bill feeling? Better from the pneumonia? I know you told us what you are making all those Elf quilts for, but I forget!

Maryz... Sorry you had a rough night last nite! I don't follow football, but it sounds like your Seahawks could go to the super bowl. I think the Vikings are totally out. My Eye Dr. sends me an e-mail every year with an appointment all set for my eye exam. She's literally 3 blocks from my house, but I also go in January, so I ain't walking in below zero temps!! I never used to have checkups once a year, but I think I have been going to this same Dr for over 10 years! She's a hoot!! She has little library in her place and your are free to borrow books. I have one I need to return and might bring her some from my stash that I've already read.

Lyn.... before I forget... I had the same problem with my glasses---When I tried to wear them standing at my cutting table, it made it feel like the cutting mat was convex too!! Drove me nuts! I'd gotten them at Target, so I took them back. We tried some different frames.... same thing!! So I took them to me eye Dr--she took one look at the little teeny marks inside the lenses and said "Oh I know what's wrong" There are a zillion different lens manufactures (all owned by the same big company) That particular Company--the lenses just didn't work with my Rx. So take them back and see what they say and I'm guessing you have some satisfaction guarantee so ask them to remake them from a different lens manufacturer.!!

Diane.... OH no, you'll have to stay inside and sew all day.... the tragedy!!! Kind of the same up here, but it's "Oh no, it's dangerously cold outside, guess I better stay in and sew" Though what I really should say is "oh no, it's dangerously cold outside so I guess I better stay in and do laundry and wash floors and scrub toilets and dust shelves" But I'm not going to... I'm going to sew!!

Lori.... Just for grins I had to google map where Sisters OR is! You are going up there with friends? That sure does sound like fun! Viv and I were going to road trip to MSQ a couple years ago, but were never able to make it. I'd still love to see that place, but would have to take out a 2nd mortgage if I wanted to shop there!!

Jana... There's an old wives tale about babies with lots of long hair... Mom has lots of heartburn! Did Kate? When my niece Erin was born, I got to be there with my sister... You wouldn't believe the hair that girl came out with!!! Long black hair flying every direction!! I had a heartburn like crazy with Shawn, and he came out bald!! Hope they can keep little guy just enough to make sure he's running on all eight cylinders!

Chriss... Yes, there is some comfort and joy in making your own space. When I was married, I could do just about whatever I wanted decorations wise---Dex didn't really care about any of that stuff. When we built our house we started from scratch--and changed a few things over the years. But when you move into somebody else's house, like I did.... Well, it's taken me almost four years to get it to be "my space" . Come spring I'll be headed to my garage to do all of that same kind of cleaning up, but at least my mess is all my own making!

Just looked out my window .... snowing like crazy!!! For sure I ain't going anywhere today. But I do need a shower so I guess I'll go do that and then head to sewing room. I need to add borders to a little top I finished yesterday, then I'll work on two other projects I cut out last evening.

Wishing you all a wonderful peaceful Sunday!

Good morning, sight very slow yesterday morning, so I passed it up cause I had things to do before.I went to the shop. I decided to take the guitar quilt because it was the one that was already packed up and all I had to do was grab the bag. Now as that lazy or what.

Jana, so good to hear that we have a positive outcome on Enoch. He's a decent size, so I don't think he'll have to be there long. My eli was only five eleven at birth. They called him small for gestational age. It's always fun to have a new baby around.

Yes, Lori, I was at the shop in Vacaville quilting yesterday. My little eighty four year old friend always saves me a seat across from her. She was having a hard time yesterday, so I helped her as best I could. In addition to her age, I think she's got an early dementia and she has macular degeneration. So things are just hard for her right now. And to top it all off, she's a perfectionist.

Lyn this must be hard for Minnie. She probably doesn't understand why Garry isn't there.

Maryz I think considering the injuries the niners faced this year they had a good year. Still a winning season. Watch out next year when everybody's healthy.

Chris, I will have to look up the new book. Jojo has the original and the quilt.

Maryq our Michael's does have some fabric but not much. I was on the hunt for chenille the other day. The quilt shop, of course, doesn't carry it.And neither did hobby lobby. Not sure where we're going to get those different fabrics these days. I ended up getting minky.

Judy when I was doing home health, especially with diabetics we always recommended fifty carbs per meal. But of course, everybody's different, and some people can eat more, and some have to eat less.

Today i'm going back to another open sew. I will bring my block of the month this time.Because I forgot yesterday. After making that, I will go back to working on my guitars. I got to the last two rows and something isn't right. I have the wrong blocks. It was late in the day so I decided to pack up early and I'll figure it out this morning. Plus my her friend was having issues. Her block she was working on was about an eighth of an inch off. I told her don't worry about it. She was ready to toss it and start all over.

Well, i'm going to go cut some more of the diaper bag before I get dressed and head to the shop. So everyone have a wonderful day.

Lyn, well of course Minnie is a priority. Our life revolves around our furry kids. So glad to hear Garry had a good day. What are you beading?

Diane, have a good day sewing.

Maryz, I'm surprised you've never been to the Sisters show. You're not that far away. It is a beautiful area and the people are so nice. If you like Batiks, Quilt in a Day is the place to go. They have twice as much as the Stitching Post. My friends were talking about a day trip down south to QIAD and a few other shops down that way.

I too had a bad night sleeping. The meds were not working. I grabbed the heating pad and that helped a bit. I think sewing at the machine aggravated my neck muscles. Just not used to it. I finished the Jelly Twist top. I'll need to find a backing for it. I posted a picture in the photo section. Don't know what's on the agenda for today. I think spaghetti and meat balls will be dinner.

Have a lovely day.

Maryq, I didn't buy much when we went to MS. It was overwhelming. If I ever go again I'll make a list. They had everything you could ever want. It's super fun.

Valerie, that was nice of you to help your friend. I spend a lot of time helping others and not working on my project when I sew with friends.

Good morning!

I have a quick need for my missionaries to repair some pants this morning. Transfers- they are being sent to different areas than mine, tomorrow, hence a quick repair

Maryz - let's say this straight, the 9ers got a old fashioned, grade b, tush stomping! Reminded me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds, as they swarmed all over, terrorizing everyone! In the 3rd quarter, I was singing, turn out the lights, the party's over. Congrats on the win. Sorry about the Broncos QB season over.

Enoch is doing well. They added a small amount of oxygen back. The NICU here is only allowing Kate to hold him. They don't want to much stimulation quite yet. Still giving him time to adjust on being born. Zion is doing well too. His mother is finally understanding she has a preemie and needs to do things a bit different. There's a pro basketball player named Zion too.

Took a break, finished the sewing mending I needed to do. Now I need to hand stitch a small tear in a Karlie stuffy. It's a giant black and white spotted cow, she named Milkshake. The tear is about 1/2 inch long. It will take me longer to thread a needle than actually sew it!

Got to scoot, Mr G is fussing over his breakfast and what I'm fixing, so he can do his insulin. He won't do his shot, until I'm done cooking, so he gets cold breakfast!

Enjoy the day!

Hugs,
Jana

Maryq - oh yes Kate had enough heartburn to light a city! I never had heartburn or even morning sickness with any of my kids and they all had tons of hair,
