Morning
Today I go pick up baby from shop. I hope she liked her spa trip. Then kids coming for supper, DDIL is doing half the cooking. I have been told I don't share my kitchen well.
Can't wait to sew again . It's been a long week without her.
I will order belt in for featherweight in a few weeks. Spread spending out over another pay check.

Good morning,

FLO - good news to hear your Baby is coming home! And I'm guessing most women don't share their kitchen well, when you stop to think about it. Mine is small with not a lot of work space. Hard to fit more than one active person in there.

JANA - you and I have a date in Seattle on Jan 17, I do believe. Bwahahahahaha.....🦅🦅🦅

CHRISS - you almost finished your ottoman in one class? Albeit a long one, but just one? Is there another class to finish it up or do you do that on your own? And what is the class in March for? What will you be making then?

LYN - what is it that you feel you need to get done? Right now your priorities are Garry, Minnie, and yourself. No one cares if you haven't changed your sheets in two weeks. No one cares if you have outdated food in your fridge, or your floor is sticky, or your grass is a bit long. Do what NEEDs to be done. The rest will wait. Don't be so hard on yourself. You have a lot on your plate right now. That daily drive alone would stress me out!

LORI - nope -not making flan. Decided I'm going to make appetizer instead - a layered Mexican dip and some poppers. How far did you get with your twisty pattern?

MARY Q - happy birthday to your Jen! So many folks I know have DDs with their birthdays Jan 9, 10, 11. What the heck was going on last April?? Wait - don't answer that

DIANE - Did you solve your QOV panel problem?

JUDI - Have fun stitching your next blocks! It's hard to put it down when you have a good head of steam going, isn't it.

VAL - what's the story at your house?

LOIS - same question. How are you and Bill doing? And is any sewing happening?

As for me, yesterday was a do-very-little kind of day. I sewed a bit, read, napped, repeat. I did sweep the kitchen floor, too. I have a third dinosaur finished and my fourth halfway cut out. And we did go to the Y and I walked four laps, two 3-min laps with the walker and two 3-1/2 min laps with the cane. This morning, I'm going to try for five laps, mostly cane. I'm ready to kick that walker to the curb! Walking laps at the Y is the only place I use it. My leg pain is 80% resolved. I think next week they might want to do another ultra sound to check.

We had Mexican food out last night so I have a lot of leftovers for tonite. We both brought boxes home. Our rain will finally be subsiding late morning and then, hopefully, we'll be dry for several days. Kids say they are leaving tomorrow now. As for sewing - another day, another dinosaur.

Skinny people are easier to kidnap. Stay safe. Eat the cake.

Good morning,

Im finally rested from all last weeks doctors appointments.
Bill is starting to feel better so I'm great full for all the prayers.
Today we have to go back to the vascular Dr where the Dr will put balloons in his fisula and see if he can fix it
Yesterday I washed clothes and sewed some stars
Today I'm a little tired so will see what I will do.

Well I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning!

Oh yes Maryz, we do have a date! Go 9'ers!

Today is getting my house in order. A few small pieces of furniture needs to be put back in place. A run to Costco. I ran out of my OTC meds this weekend, which is not a happy thing. While is was at church doing the music, I was trying to sit back in my seat, after finishing one hymn. And missed the edge of the seat, and sort of fell into the seat. Not all the way to the floor but close. The choir seats are ones that the seat folds up and down. And I stupidly had my coat covering the seat, which contributed to my mishap. Thought I gracefully recovered, but some how banged up my left hand and it hurts this morning. Glad that I'm slightly, when seated, hidden from the congregation view. Sure don't want to scare the horses. Oh, speaking of horses, the real live ones that live on the other side of my backyard fence, are now gone. When we moved here, there were 4, and through the years, we got down to two. But those two, just suddenly disappeare, a week or two ago. . A mystery as to where they went. This neighbor didn't take care of these horses at all, so I'm hoping someone else is.. so now it's a wonder what will happen to that horse property. The lot is long and narrow, not wide enough for a flag lot and another house.

Time to get going, I would like to get some sewing in too.

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Happy Monday! Here we go again!! Another brand new week! Wonder what I'll be able to accomplish this week!

Flo....What kind of machine is your baby? Katie next door was given an old about 1968-70 Singer and I'd sure love to take a look at it. Not that I need another machine! Hope she just purrrrrsssss for you when you get her home. Things are better with DDIL?

Maryz..... Must have been a full moon some time during those April months!   So glad to hear you are doing better and that the walking is getting easier. How are the steps at your house? Do you find it easier to get up and down now?

Judi.... Ok, here's a laundry question for you, since I did mine yesterday. What detergent do you use? Do you get all your laundry done in one day. Even when I had 4 other people to do laundry for, I did it all in one day--and with luck got it all done in one day---at least until the kids were old enough to do their own. As soon as they were tall enough to reach the buttons on the washer, they did their own!

Lois.... SO good to hear that Bill is feeling better.

Jana... Hopefully those horses will find a new happier home!! My DDIL Kris owns a horse. She used to keep him at a stable just up the road. Once in a while I'd go watch her or Evie ride. (They even got my big butt up on him once 😮) Horses, in my opinion are one of the most beautiful of all God's creations. I have a nephew that has written a couple books about the wild horses in Wyoming and Colorado. Hope your hand feels better today... no fun to sew with achy hands!

Chriss...What is the next class you are taking? You didn't like your ottoman? Will it end up in a spare bedroom instead of front and center in your living room? I do love the look of HST's, but I hate the squaring up! I do have a block-lock ruler and that's a game changer for getting them square!

Lori.... How's the shoulder? Are you still working on your folks house?

Yesterday I got two small little tops put together from a MSQ pattern I started a long time ago. They still need borders so I might do that today. Need to dig around in the garage to see what I might have on hand for backing. They are only about 45x45" so they will be easy for me to quilt myself.

for now I need more coffee----need to pay some bills this morning and I need all the encouragement I can get for that job!

Wishing you all a marvelous Monday!!

Maryq I use "Clean People" laundry sheets,,,and they work fine, I do use a whitener on the whites. I usually do 3 loads starting at 630 when I am up and moving. I do whites darks and mediums. They are all done by noon unless I get side tracked. Folded and in a backet to be carried upstairs by Ken. Sometimes he even puts them away but not usually. I like doing laundry and dont usually let anyone use my W & D. they are over 15yrs old and make a lot of noise now, but I dont want new ones. ken says the bearings are going but so far they are working fine, xxxooo

Good morning. Today promises to be another beautiful day. We might just see 60* today, I'm hopeful.

I'm not sure what today's plan is but it certainly won't be strenuous. Tomorrow is Elliott day, I will play till I drop.

Flo, my MIL didn't share her kitchen well either, it was very small and not roomy enough for two. On the flip side, her sister, Jerry's aunt, would come get me if she needed help. I bet DDIL wants to just spend time with you and cooking together is how she wants to go about it.

Maryz, I wonder how easy it would be to walk with the walker folded up and used as a cane. Then only open it up if you need to use it. I've never used a walker so don't even know if that is doable. I also had Mexican food last night, so good that the leftovers will be breakfast. Lots of carbs but so so good. The ottoman class was supposed to be over 2 hours earlier than it lasted. So it's done and I will finish it at home. just need to put already cut felt on the bottom and put the legs on it.

Judi, that cold is hanging on as long as it can it seems. I saw a recipe for cream of chicken soup, I bet it would be good for a cold with some hot buttered biscuits. Maybe instead of making the recipe you could open a can of soup and bang the biscuits on the counter and put them in the oven.

Lois, so glad you are rested up. and thrilled that Bill get his balloons installed today. Hope that this will be the start of his feeling much better.

Jana, I've done that, sat down wrong. Hope the aching goes away soon. would the horse pasture work for a tiny house? My son called me yesterday to tell me his niners won, and it looks like fowl is on the menu for the next game too.

Maryq, when I had kids here I did all the laundry in one day. I have so much less laundry now than I did then. I'ts pretty much one load of clothes and maybe a second load of bedding and towels. The ottoman was ok, but I bet those legs never get attached. The next class is in March. Not sure which pattern yet but it will be Laura Heine. QIAD has a HST trimming ruler that I use. I do all my bill paying online. I did have to write a check for the quilting class I took. I hadn't written a check in a year. Glad, when I put the bank account in my name, that I didn't buy 4 boxes of checks like I used to.

Guess I need to get dressed and have some breakfast. Dinner tonight will be Salisbury steak. I will need to get some mushrooms for the gravy. And that is the extent of the excitement I will see today.

Have a marvy day,
Chriss.

JUDI, I also usually wash 3 loads in a day - darks, lights, mediums. Some days I have a fourth with towels, jeans, sweatshirts, etc. I use Tide pods. I set the timer on my phone for 30 min to wash and 50 min to dry. My Maytags are 33 yrs old and still going strong. They've been getting double use with Lee & Lara here, so I hope they hold up! And our septic system as well.

JANA - how are the Winnie the Pooh baby things coming along? I've never made a diaper bag and hope I never do. I just prefer making the quilts and receiving blankets. I hope your horse neighbors have gone to a better home.

CHRISS - it sounds like you didn't really care for the ottoman class. But that's OK. That's why there's choices - to see what we like and don't like. I probably wouldn't have liked it either, though I could use an ottoman. Have fun with Elliott tomorrow! Will you be babysitting or just visiting?

This morning I finished cutting and sewing a fourth dinosaur. Later today I'll start pulling fabrics for my two stegosauruses and get started cutting them out. I have half the blocks finished. I should be able to easily make my end of March deadline.

Maryz, I like dip much more than flan. I got about half done with the top. Funny, I always tell people that the skinny ones are easier to kidnap. I usually get a strange look in return. lol Look at you walking with the cane. You'll be free of all devices soon enough.

Flo, I bet you are glad to have your machine back. Hope it works correctly now.

Judi, I cleaned the bathroom as well. Sorry you are under the weather.

Lois, glad Bill is feeling better.

Jana, glad you weren't hurt to bad. That could have been disastrous. You can't get hurt, who would take care of Mr. G? I hope the horses are getting better care where ever they are.

Maryq, the shoulder is still crap. I haven't been working up there because of it. OMG I feel like a total slacker. I got half of my quilt top together yesterday.

Chriss, glad you are having a beautiful day. Do you go see Mr. Elliott tomorrow?

I washed a few windows and the sliders today. Oh my the runner was really dirty on the window. Now it's nice and clean. I also ran a few errands and did a few other things around the house. Thank goodness it's the coffee hour because I could use a cup. We have coffee everyday at 4. I want to work on my quilt top a little bit, but first I need a break. It's sunny and 75 here today. I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's supposed to be nice all week long. Dinner will be orange chicken and rice with a veggie.

Have a wonderful evening.
