Good morning,

We are 47*, feels like 40*, and raining. Typical winter weather in the PNW. But I'm happy with it when I see what the Northeast gets sometimes, where my Grandpa came from in 1902. So no complaints here! I'm thankful he moved!

VAL, did you finish your binding yesterday? sorry you weren't feeling up to par.

JANA, I'm not one to say "I told you so!", but would you like to come to OUR Super Bowl party??? :D

LORI, I thought the nurse practitioner was very good, very thorough, very kind. And I agree - sometimes I'd rather seen the ARNP, And I think the steroids are helping - at least some. I still have four more days to go. And I cook like you do - don't always follow the recipe exactly. Baking is different, but cooking - I take what I want, add ingredients I 1have on hand, and voila` - I create something that Bill really likes but can never be repeated because I never write down what I do!

MQ - yes, I was stitching the last two CW's at 2am a few nights ago. Couldn't sleep was hurting, so I got up, went upstairs to my recliner, put on my audio book, and stitched. Great distractions from pain. And I got 'er dun! And no, there is no quilting or binding needed for this quilt. No batting either. Though I did see on the internet an option to side a small square of batting under the "windows" for more of a 3-D effect. But I didn't do that. This quilt is 60x64 and already heavy enough. I have Christmas spread all over the living room right now, but after I get this all organized and put away and have my staff vacuum the carpet, I'll lay it out and take some photos.

JUDI - I like the idea of your sis have a post Christmas party. How many folks were there? Does she order all the pizzas? Or does each family bring one? What a fun gathering. Will you get started on the QOV today? My house looks like you described yours yesterday. I hadn't planned on starting the Take Down yet but then realized we needed to get the borrrowed tree down and boxed up so L&L could take it back to Drew's house when they go get their mail. And L&L are leaving in about 10 days. So that started this mess that I'm looking out on.

FLO - machine service here costs about $200. Ouch! But I bought a maintainence agreement when I bought my machine. It cost $500 but it's good for 3 years, as many cleanings as I like, free repairs, and 20% off any parts - but so far, any parts they've needed to replace, I haven't been charged for. I get my machine serviced at least twice a year, often three times. In the long run it's a bargain, but the original cost kind of staggers me. Just an FYI, once you put in snaps, it's really hard to get them out again without damaging the fabric. So, if that's your plan after your machine is repaired, just be aware. Also, what kind of machine do you have? Sounds like a Singer. How old is it? I believe Chriss also has a Singer.

TINA B, is your family party today? My head was thinking Jan 6 but today is Sunday, 4th. Or maybe you said 10 or 11? Whatever, I hope you have a super Sunday!

LOIS - yoo hoo! Calling Lois! Everything OK with you? I know nasty flu is going around. I hope y'all didn't catch it.

I received a card from Sharona, She is still fighting a myriad of health issues but said she hopes to be back after the first of the year. Praying she is able. She said she misses us.

I believe the Pred-Pack, as Mary Q termed it in Pharm-speak, is helping. I am now using the cane nearly 100% of the time throughout the house. At least in the mornings. I tire in the afternoons and evenings and sometimes cheat with the walker. Today I hope we can finish putting away all the Christmas stuff - we're 2/3 done. I pack one tote full of Christmas stuff for when we're in Texas in our RV. So when we pack again for a trip, we can just grab the Texas tote. I also have all my Christmas quilts and toppers to put away. As well as those ceramic nativities that I started to paint. I didn't get very far. They'll be packed away for another time when I'm in the mood. I really want to get back to my sewing room and my dinosaurs, but I'm using it as a carrot to get everything else done first. And everything else goes so slowly these days. We might go to the Y today to walk the track, but I'm not adverse to taking the weekend off from that. We also will watch the Broncos game this afternoon. They are our secondary team, unless of course they are playing the Hawks. It looks like supper is going to be leftover chicken chili. Again.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Due to the permonia he started hulisnating Christmas eve day we went to the Er and he was admitted he came home last Sunday .
Sandi came down Christmas eve day and drove us
While we were worried about Bill we had a floor show to watch there was this older than me women that was cursing up a storm dropping the f bomb that was all that was coming out.
Plus you would think a bus pulled up with the flu patients.
We have a couple of appointments with the PCP then with the vascular Dr so he can widen his port again then he will start dialysis after he see the nymfroligist.

Good morning, well I am up, had some breakfast and accomplished nothing so far today. I slept probably 9 hours last night (not straight) and still feel like I could sleep several more. There is a bug going around here so not sure if that is the problem or life is just catching up to me. It is raining with a chance of rain most of the day. Maybe rain Monday and Wednesday. My legs are achy so may soak in the tub a bit.

Lois so sorry to hear about Bills health decline. Praying they can get things reversed and started on Dialysis if that is what he will need. Your elf quilt sounds like it will be adorable. A happy quilt.

Judi I have not had stuffed cabbage in years. DH does most of our cooking and it is not something he makes. I don't think his Mom ever did. I was thinking last night I should get all the folded quilts off of JoJo's bed and lay them out on the twin bed. I don't like that they are folded so much. Hard to get the folds out. I also want to see which ones I could finish up for Christmas 2026.

Maryz I got the binding sewn on the front. I have started the hand sewing process but only go through one length of thread last night. I felt so awful I just took some Tylenol and went to bed at 6 pm. I am not sure if I will work on anything today. We will see. I have what one dr told me was a medication phobia. While as a nurse I never hesitated to give meds to my patients, but to give to me. Oh no! When I had to start on blood pressure meds, I had a male nurse who worked with me promise he would check on me every 30 minutes to make sure nothing happened. My old dr (prior to Kaiser) always gave me samples and would have me take one and then sit in the lobby for 30 minutes to prove I would be okay. And just so you know, I read the side effects of Tizanadine and it can cause hallucinations. Nope, not taking it.

Jana I have tried that way of shopping, seems as though whoever is doing the shopping just picks whatever. I prefer to look at the products myself and do my own choosing. I am sorry the niners fell apart in the end but they are still in the playoffs so that SuperBowl party can still happen. They have done great this year despite the injuries.

Maryq yes send me the link. I am not sure what I would use them on but would like to see exactly what they are.

Flo machine service hear starts at $139 for domestic machines. Higher of course for Long Arms. I don't think any of our shops that sell machines offer maintenance agreements. I have bought at the 2 shops I buy from and an agreement has never been offered.

Well I think I will go figure out what to do today. I already know I am not going anywhere. May not even get dressed! Have a great day.

LOIS - so sorry your hubby is so sick. And that you and he had such a time, and over Christmas, no less. I pray he is doing better and his nephrologist can help him. Is he on a transplant list? My niece's husband was on the list for 5 yrs but he finally did get a donor kidney. I will be adding him to my prayer list.

JUDI - enjoy those hockey games while you got 'em! How old is Ryker? For your sake, I hope he keeps with it for at least a few more years.

VAL - you sound like you need what my sister calls a "cocoon day". She stays in jammies sometimes even stays in bed. But she just does nothing but nap or watch mindless TV. This is how she recharges. I have had no problem with TIzanidine. Neither has my friend who takes twice the dose I take. I am am a short term user, but she takes it for chronic issues, But I will say, I'll be glad when I am finally off everything. I don't like taking meds, but sometimes ya gotta trust the dr and just do it.

Bill and I have been working on more Take Down. We're down to stems and seeds of stuff. Leftovers of items we didn't put out. And trying to vacuum and polish as we go through the rooms. I want it all done this morning so we have the afternoon to play - watch football, sew, play a game, etc. - whatever we feel like.

It will be in the low 70's today.

Lois, So sorry to hear about Bill. You both will be in my prayers.

MaryZ, I hope you are getting some relief, pain is no fun.

I thought the MH was going to need a new transfer switch/surge protector, to the tune of $1,100. Just before I was going to order it Friday afternoon, Southwire who makes it called me back. After talking to that guy, I decided to wait. I called the electrician to find out that he had to retire for health reasons. Sad cause he's in his 40's. Told me to call Brian, who is the AC guy that put in my mini split in the Cabin. Talked to his wife and Brian is out of town but his older brother, Timothy, could come out and did yesterday morning. Timothy told me he has owned several RV'S and kept reminding me that he's a journeyman electrician. He said there was nothing wrong with the 50amp plug. He tried to tell me the generator had something to do with the transfer switch not working. I know better. It hit me that before I had that 50amp plug put in, I ran an extension cord from the garage and have connections to down size the 50amp to a 20amp plug. I plugged it in and the shore power came on just fine in the MH. But Timothy still said it was the transfer switch. I won't bore you longer with the details, but finally I got him to take the panel off the electrical box and the white wire to the 50amp plug was fried. It hadn't been tightened down correctly and over the past year it corroded and was shorting out. Timothy up and said, sometimes I forget to check the simple things first. The MH is back on shore power and all is well.

Garry was sleepy yesterday, I couldn't get him to wake up to eat lunch. I didn't stay very long. I had forgotten to take a Claritin first thing in the morning. After Timothy left, I took Minnie out front to get her business done. We walked towards the ranch gate and when she was done she decided she had to kick up the dirt. It was windy and it all came my way. I started sneezing a few minutes later. Remembered the Claritin, took it and also took some Benadryl. And for good measure, I started taking Cold Calm, just in case it wasn't allergies. I came home and took a half hour nap. Then between sneezing and blowing my nose, I strapped the dolly to the washing machine and got it on the back porch. I removed the new drain pump Amanda had put on. Maybe I can sell it on Marketplace or something. I had fixin's for chicken noodle soup, and that always makes me feel better.

I'm happy and thankful to say that this morning I am fine. So it was an allergy attack. I haven't had one that bad since Layne was a baby and Stacey and I took the kids to the Stockshow in Denver. When I talked to Stacey last night, she told me I should have changed my clothes immediately and maybe taken a shower. I was in a hurry, but I will remember that if it happens again.

The washing machine will be delivered this afternoon, after 3:30. I best get over to see Garry. I hope y'all have a good day.

Good morning Girls

Seems I get here a little later every day!  Ok, I have been up for a while, but I am showered and dressed and caught up on some news online (of which I believe about 1/2!)

Maryz.. Since you have had Christmas stuff up since October, I bet you will be thrilled to have it all down and back to normal. The good thing about not writing down what you do when you make a meal.... you always get a NEW meal... something similar but not the same and you can tell Bill you found a whole new recipe. I remember the dose pack used to be called "Medrol Dose pack" and in came in a little plastic box. Eventually it came out generically, but my Dad used to get it all the time for his COPD and he'd save the little plastic boxes--thinking they would be good for something someday. (Hence the big huge dumpster when we sold their house!)

Judi.... So how many Christmas quilts DO you have?  I lost count but knew I had too many. Last summer when my DB Greg had a little sibling party at his house I took a bunch and shared them with my brothers & Sister. I certainly don't need more quilts in my house, but if we did another Christmas block swap for 2026 I'd be in!! I meant to ask, How did Nolan do his 2nd (? right 2nd?) year in Pharmacy school?

Lois... Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear of Bill's health issues. I will add him to nightly prayer list, right next to Garry & Lyn! I bet that was quite entertaining to see a couple of old women swearing at each other. Too bad you didn't record it on your phone, you could put it on Youtube! Seems that's all you see these days is people behaving badly and somebody putting it on the internet.

Valerie.... You do know that when they list side effects of meds, they have to list every one they have encountered! I'm not a fan of taking meds if I don't REALLY need to, but luckily I'm not a person that has a lot of reactions to med--except for Keflex which gives me a nasty rash. But as much as I'd like to try a GLP-1.... the side effects of those---well, not sure I'm willing to take that chance. Not a bad idea tho, to take a new med right there in the Dr office and watch for side effects.

Lyn... Isn't a journeyman electrician one who is just learning? Might I suggest you take the MH to a real professional electrician, like maybe referred to you by Newmark (is that the MH builder?) Not that you need one more thing on your plate right now! Chicken soup is always good for the body and the soul.

Jana.... My Alexa is so smart, she knows the scores of all the football games. So I send my sympathy that the Seahawks beat your Niners. Don't feel too bad, they shellacked the Vikings!!!

Lori... You cook like I do.... "Oh look, here's a new recipe, let's try that ... Only What if I add MORE cheese or maybe some cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom (which you never find in my house) or take out those awful peas!! The "beer cheese" soup I made is actually hardly anything like the recipe that was given to me. The original recipe was "Cheese burger soup" Only I make it with chicken and rice and sometimes chopped up ham. It calls for Velveeta cheese, normally gross, but really good in this recipe, but what the heck, lets add some other cheese too!

Chriss.... How are liking your new washer? Does it play a funny little tune when it's done? I swear mine plays the whole opera! I think there's a way to turn that off, but then I wouldn't know when the load was done!

I am finally going to be ablet to SEW today!! Floors are clean, carpet vac'd, dust chased, kitchen relatively clean, sheets changed and laundry done AND put away (normally there's that last basket of clean still in the laundry room. SO if you need me, that's were I will be! There's two little projects in there I hope to make good progress on today.

Wishing you all a very happy Sunday.

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today. rainy, chilly and great.

I have some light chores to do around here. Nothing major just picking up and dusting. After that I will see what fabric I can pull for my tuffet making class. I may wash the bedding. I'd like to try a big load and see how the new washer tackles it.

I've been sleeping in these last few days. I wake up to look at the clock, and I've had some crazy dreams. I usually don't remember my dreams, these aren't scarry, just stupid.

Lyn, part of my furnace problems are wires, that over 35+ years have come apart and need to be re-twisted together. Dad used a solder iron on them. Those plastic nuts do loosen over time. Glad you figured yours out and saved $$. Chicken noodle soup sounds really good. Enjoy that new washer. I'm happy with mine. Hoping Garry is more alert so you can talk with him a bit.

Maryz, happy un-christmasing. chicken chili sounds good.

Judi, my grandma used to make cabbage rolls. she'd freeze them and then she'd always have something for dinner if company showed up. Enjoy the hockey games.

Lois, my goodness that is a lot. Prayers have just been said for you and Bill. That really is a lot, thankfully you have kids nearby to help. There is a lot of support on this forum.

Valerie, I'm not going anywhere today either. The rain just started and I see puddles forming in the already soaked ground. I also don't like taking meds. When Jerry was taking morphine he thought I was trying to kill him and he would try to escape. He crawled to the back door, opened it and I heard "help, call 911, she's trying to kill me" I had to call for a lift assist to get him back in bed. I have to take a regular aspirin each day, and I don't even like that. Hope you feel better soon. Wehn I am feeling yucky I pile on the quilts, put on warm jammies and stay in bed.

Maryq, after reading that Lyn will get her washer today I was thinking I really haven't had to use mine more than a couple of times. I just don't have that much laundry. But I do love it. After I got home the day I bought it I remembered I wanted one that let me know when it was finished. This one doesn't have that feature. I laughed when your cheeseburger soup was made with chicken and rice.

I have no clue what dinner will be. last night it was a salad. Maybe I will brave the rain and go to the grocery store.

You all have a great day.

Good morning!

It's still morning! Up, dressed, fed, and gone and home from church! This early schedule is for the birds! I'm retired and no kids at home, I should be able to sleep in on Sunday! Oh well, it's only for 51 more Sundays.

Maryz - yes it was a good game. Now there is still one more possible meeting - for the NFC championship. Hummm.....

Lyn - yesterday I told Mr G about the MH issue. He dealt for his career with transfer switches, batteries and shore power. He called your issue, right on point, that it was the shore power right off. Now with that wire being loose, he recommends to check all the wires. A loose wire like that could cause a fire. We had issues here in this house with loose wires, until he went through and checked the electricians work.

Take down will start here too. First is to de-naked-i-tise the trees - pack up the ornaments. I carefully wrap each in tissue before it goes in the storage box. Then I'll pack away my kitchen. I make up words-lol

Not much else here. Prayers for all of us, we always need the blessings!

Hugs,
Jana
