Good morning,
It's really cold out there I'm happy I have no where to go and can just stay tucked inside.
Yesterday I went outside to help and after a while I came back inside and helped Bill finish our tree .
Then I took out my bread machine it's a Gold star from 30 years ago and made rolls to go with our left over soup.
Today I'm going to try and get some messes cleaned up do my sheets.
Just maybe I will visit my sewing room and see what's on here.
I hope everyone is going have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Morning
Thank you for the love, prayers, & support last week. DDIL stopped by twice, once she & DGD stayed for supper. Joe finished their van Saturday. She came by & swapped vehicles as she was going to pick up DS. We assumed they would be here for supper last night, no word. They often come by for supper without a phone call. What I had planned was easily put off & we had leftover beef stew.
Today Joe has chiropractor then I have oncology check up.
Trying to find Christmas spirit...and money

Good morning It is cold here 15 at the moment, I wasnt planning on going anywhere but Gloria called and said lets do lunch, We are both done with holiday stuff and she wanted to celebrate and pick up the label I made for her quilt. We will go to a place called First Watch,it is breakfast and lunch, they have the most delicious oatmeal with bananas pecans and strawberries in it, so that will be our celebratory brunch around 11.
In the mean time I will tidy up some messes empty the dishwasher and fold some clothes that got left from yesterday.
I will work on the hand applique when I have time. Coney dogs for supper with baked beans all ready to heat up//
I believe tomorrow Ken has his Union Christmas dinner and awards banquet, He gets a 55 yr award and since my sister and 2 of my sons and a grandson are all union guys they will all attend,,,(Wives are not included) then wednesday Ken will finally catch up to me and be the same age..( 79) there are a few hockey games this week I think too...so another busy week for us. The kids might put off the birthday til the weekend but I havent heard for sure, I let them make the plans I just follow along...
Hope you are all having a great day or will have,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,
JUDI -Happy birthday in 2 days to Ken! A whole big party with all his favorite former work people just to celebrate his special day!
Have a fun brunch with Gloria. Is her quilt all finished now? The quilting, that is? Will she do the binding herself or will you?
FLO - it's a start!
LOIS - Glad your tree is up. And by all means - do visit your lonely sewing room. Why not?
LORI - a stair lift like Jana's does sound enticing right now. My friend, Susie, has one. Hopefully one day soon, stairs will no longer be an issue for me. Soon. Hopefully.
TINA B - thank you for the prayers, I can use them! So what kind of cookies? We're not doing any cookies this year I guess. Never known Bill to bake a single thing in the nearly 37 years I've known him. I might be able to prevail upon him to go see if Costco has any tins of cookies left. You're making me hungry for cookies now.
DIANE - hi! hope the holidays are happy for you and your DH.
LYN - glad the family is coming or already there. Sorry Kaylyn is on the outs with her mom. Didn't they just go on the trail ride together a few months ago? Maybe being together at your house will give them a chance to resolve that issue. Families can be weird sometimes.
MARY Q - you haven't even started your shopping yet? Hmm.... When you are sitting here wondering what to do with your day, may I suggest you hit the malls EARLY and don't come home until your truck is full and all the names on your list are crossed off. And tomorrow will be wrapping day -
JANA - I do the opposite with my computer. I only turn it off about once every two weeks. Sometimes even less. I rarely have issues with QIAD - just lately when everyone else is having the same problem. And the problems most likely aren't with QIAD itself, but with their provider. Q many not even realize what is going on.
Well, not much to report from here. Every day is a tiny bit better. This recovery business is very slow going. Slower than I expected. Seahawks won their game yesterday. I almost felt sorry for the QB on the other team. All their QB's are on the injured list so they brought Rivers out of 5 yr retirement - he's a grandfather!! He had a week to practice with the team and he almost won it for them! But not quite.
No sewing here. Maybe I'll do a few CW's today. Very sad news from Hollywood about Rob Reiner and his wife. Some things are simply unfathomable. Offering prayers for the rest of the family.
Dinner tonite will probably be leftover chicken pot pie. A bummer. It wasn't my best effort. But we'll eat it up anyway.
Wishing everyone here a happy Monday! Ten days until Christmas!!

Good freezing cold morn here in Myrtle beach. Of course, I had an appointment for 8 a.m. to see urologist. Had to find a coat and it was in a un-heated closet and super cold. BRR!! They took blood and the doctor wants CT scan then a scope on my bladder YIPEE!! It looks like 2026 will start off with a bang for us! LOL
Now I just have to wait for the times and places for these to be set.
I'm trying to send all the cold weather back up north-but it won't--darn mother nature is stronger and madder.
I'll check back later to catch up.
Diane

Good morning!
Bright outside, just not what we want. We need snow! A storm of the proportions of the one in Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer!
Sarah is coming over this afternoon. There re still ornaments on my table to finish. Sarah's nativity finally arrived. We ordered it, along with the ornaments, but somehow, the lady making both, shipped the nativity to who knows where. She had no idea what address she put on the box. So she poured and fired a second new nativity and sent it to Sarah. So Sarah will wait on that one, for next year, starting next year too!
I have laundry and good cleaning of my kitchen today. The pest control company will be here this afternoon. They are great! With the horse pasture behind me, that field is loaded with a critter called voles. Like a mole or gopher and they destroy yards! We keep them under control and try to have thm stay on their side of the fence! A constant battle,
The Christmas sing along was great. Ethan even played with string group. The littlest was a adorable 4 year old little girl, playing the violin. And yes, she was actually playing, There's a method of teaching string instruments, called the Suzuki Method and it works, Sarah did well conducting, even though she goofed twice. Of course I teased her, reminding her about a old family joke. So now that is all done ND she's caught up with work for the year end reports. She made a batch of fudge and another batch of peanut butter fudge. They came out yummy.. the peanut butter fudge is her own creation, tweaking our fudge recipe. .
Well it's time to feed the zoo here. All the companies that my boys work for, close until after the New year, this week. Nice vacation for them!
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning. It's still foggy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. But that fog decides to come back and stays all night. It still makes for a beautiful day.
I was here yesterday, had my post read and hit the wrong button. Instead of retyping I chose to go clean out the garage. Lots of piles of lots of things. Dad comes up to do a job and buys more, and he leaves it. I now have nails and screws in one spot. Painting stuff in another spot etc. While he will never put anything away, I now have a specific place to put it. I will go through my tools one more time
Jana, Joy to the World was the topic of one of my email devotions yesterday. It's about the second coming of Christ. It doesn't mention his birth. I had to look up the lyrics to see if that was true. Guess I only knew the first verse of the song. I hope you get your snow.
Lyn, today is invasion day. It will be good for all of you to be together. Hoping it mends the rift between Kaylyn and her mom. I wouldn't contact Garry's daughter either. When I updated my will, after Jerry died, I specifically added to the document that his daughter (Sarah, Marilyn's mom) was not getting a dime. I don't even know if she is alive.
Maryq, glad you love your kitchen. I don't use those grates, they were odd in my opinion. I used to have a dish drainer that sat on the counter, we had a towel under it and the towel got moldy. I now have a dish drainer that sits up on little one inch legs and has a draining spout that drips into the sink. Did Evie get home safely and enjoy the roast dinner?
Lois, soup with freshly made bread sounds wonderful.
Flo, hope the doctor appointments go well. Hoping things settle and you all get back to being a happy family again.
Judi, that oatmeal sounds wonderful. Now I want oatmeal for breakfast. Congrats to Ken on 55 years. and happy almost birthday to him.
Maryz, yesterday when you mentioned wanting to go up the stairs my mind saw you going up two steps and backing down two steps. But I'm not sure backing up is a great idea just yet. I will still write not at this address on Jerry's mail. Someone, even after I'm gone, will live here. Eventually the people sending the mail will remove him from their list, it's kind of a game. I'm glad you are improving, one day you will just hop up and walk like nothing happened.
Diane, hope all is well with your bladder MRI. I also had to find an actual coat this winter.
Tina, do you make a lot of different kinds of cookies ? I have to say, the one thing I don't miss around here is the sweets. Pies, cookies and candy used to be sent to family members. Christmas used to just be costly, both money wise and weight wise.
Yesterday I baked two chicken breasts I ate one with some Brussel sprouts, tonight will be the same.
Time to start my day. Not quite sure what I will do, but I could finish in the garage or go through things in the house. I do know I will make dad some deviled eggs. But first breakfast. You all have a wonderful day

Good Morning Girls
Happy Monday Girls!! OH Joy..... It's going to warm up to 29* here---same as Myrtle Beach! Can't believe Diane is that cold!
Lois... Home made fresh rolls!! I still haven't tried making bread from scratch after my last fail. I did make a loaf of frozen bread dough yesterday. Saw a recipe on FB where you roll it out, the put cheese and melted butter etc on it in squares and put it in a loaf pan. Nah, that didn't work... just didn't want to roll out big enough for, so I rolled it as far as I could, then spread melted butter with seasonings and spread lots of cheese and chopped up deli ham, and rolled it back up and baked it. Ok, so it didn't look so pretty but it sure tasted good!
Flo... Glad to hear that DDIL is at least speaking you. Maybe wrap up a couple boxes of frosting mix and put her name on under the tree! Will your son be able to stay home now through the holidays or go back out on the road. One thing I have learned about waiting for apologies.... don't hold your breath waiting for them, as you will only end up turning blue!
Judi... I'm with you... I'd never turn down a chance to out to brunch (tho it might hard for me to get up for an early breakfast!
) Other than going out to lunch today, you and I are probably on the same wave length... unload DW, fold clothes, might change my sheets, with a little luck I'll sneak into the sewing room. So if wives aren't allowed at the Christmas dinner for Ken, I'm guessing there are no women in his union?
Maryz... Hit the Mall? ?? Oh my gosh ... I haven't been to a MALL for oh gosh, 20 years or more! There's an outlet mall 2 miles from my house and I only go there when I need a new pair of Sketchers! For sure I'm getting out to Target tomorrow and most things on my Christmas list are available there. What gift cards I can't find there, I think I'll be able to find at Walgreens or the Dollar Tree store! I'm anxious to hear that you have climbed the steps, as I know that will be a good sign that you are healing up!
Diane.... when you mentioned it was cold in MB, I had to ask Alexa.... Looks like we are going to be about the same temp today! I couldn't imagine that it would be so cold there! I have no idea what Sugartown pieces are up in my Attic... next time Shawn comes over or maybe Evie now that she is home from college, perhaps I'll have them crawl up there and bring down the box!
Jana... Oh I've heard of Suzuki method! My niece's little girl started that I think when she was 5 or 6 maybe? She's now 23! My Mom always wanted one of my kids to play violin but alas none of them got the "music" marker in their DNA
Chriss... Yes my darling Evie is home from school! Was fun to have her for supper, with Shawn too of course. She is going to come by and help with cleaning some up-high things in my kitchen while she is home. I ordered one of those little roll-up racks from Amazon for my sink... It was inexpensive, so if I don't like it I'm not out much. I have so little counter space I'd love to get the drying matt off the counter. Did Dad get your shelf up where your oven was? What's his next project? When do you get your new windows?
Lyn... I hope that when your girls arrive, that Kaylyn and her mom will be able to resolve their differences. Life is too short, as we know, to be apart in spirit from those we love.
Prayers continue for peace for Garry.
Time to get in gear here. I started sewing up some fleece mittens yesterday and have just a few more to stitch up, then I can go on to the next project. I'm making a new tote bag for Viv and would like to get that done before they come up this weekend. This year they will be here for Christmas so the kids don't have to travel to Wisconsin! YEAH!!

Lois, homemade rolls sound yummy.
Judi, enjoy your brunch with Gloria.
Flo, hope your check-up is normal.
Maryz, seems the older we get the slower the recovery. This getting older stuff is for the birds.
Diane, hope you warm up soon.
Jana, my goodness, years old and playing the violin. They are little sponges when they are young.
Maryq, what do you do with the fleece mittens? Glad Evie made it home safely.
Chriss, I've found 3 little tool kits with my moms name on them. I guess she didn't want the men touching her stuff.
I just got back from out walk and it's so foggy that my hair is wet. Jack's already napping. Oh to be a dog. I got the rest of my Christmas cards done and packages packed. So I'll be off to the post office in a bit just to drop off. I do all my labels at home and it save me time. I need to go to See's candy again. I knew I should have made a list. I missed my count by 2 boxes. I'll go there first since it gets crazy. I didn't make my soup yesterday, so I'll do that today. Maybe clean up the sewing room.
Have a lovely day.

Re: Monday December 15,2025
Good afternoon! I was finally able to speak to someone at QIAD. They rebooted the forum this AM but that didn't work to get me back. They had to change my password. Jana what you are reporting is the same thing that happened to me. I spoke with Jean and she was able to help. You might want to think about giving her a call.
I received some sad news this AM. The sister of my BIL in Colorado passed away in the wee hours of this AM. She was a victim of Phenylalanine days. She lived into her 80's so that is good. We will miss her but glad she is back with Mom and Dad. He is the last living child of those parents.
I am working on multiple projects (as usual). I have the quilt going for my SD granddaughter, my Go Cube class quilt is at the quilters, also have made some progress on my DGS in SD quilt and started Plum Fusion for DH. I also have all the blocks made for APQ Gem Tones. Now to figure out how to finish it. All the blocks are made for my second Go Cube quilt. I do have the fabric to finish that one so will get to it.
We are finally over 50* here. It has been in the 40's in the daytime for almost 2 weeks. That is not usual for us. Needless to say my power bill is over the top. I have to go to Kaiser tomorrow and see if I can get the doctor to sign a form for my CPAP so I can get some $$ off my bill. I have also had to file an appeal with SS as they want to take close to $700 for medicare due to my 2024 income. 2024 was a bit ago when it comes to finances. I am not making that now so hoping they will see things my way. It will resolve itself next year automatically but would like to fix this year too. They usually look 2 years back but will make an exception for certain circumstances.
Maryq my DS is learning to make bread from scratch. I don't so much anymore because the kneading is difficult with my arthritic hands. I have thought about baking some cookies though.
Lyn sending prayers for strength for you over the next couple of weeks. Glad Garry can interact some.
Well my Christmas cards are all done, I finished my shopping, (well I don't have a plan for Tony or DH friend Ron). I will get it done though. Hoping we can go to Sparks for Christmas with the young ones. We have never been able to. Hoping Mother Nature cooperates and doesn't dump a bunch of snow and ice over Donner Summit. We will go up on the 24th and back on the 25th. DH has to work on the 26th.
I do have binding to finish for little Xavier so best get to it. Glad to be back, hope I can stay a bit. I am not going to log out just in case!
