Good morning Lois and everyone else who is not up yet. I was up at 630 this morning I didnt sleep well I have a full blown cold now. Cough stuffy etc. I do have laundry to do today but the washer does most of the work and the dryer, so I might stitch while they do their thing, I will start to lay out the center block of Jane for pplique it is going ok..and looks pretty good...not perfect but pretty good. after this center block there are 20+ smaller blocks to applique, so this one will go for a long time..
It is 7 out there and windchill is below zero...I don't think I will be going anywhere but Ken will go and get milk later today,,,I am putting on a pot of chicken noodle soup for supper today. That is all. Hope all is going well with recovering hip for Maryz and Hospice care for Garry and Flos family and all the other issues we have this week. Prayer s said,,,,have a wonderful sunday XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning!

Sun is just barely up, like me! The heater just came on as well. Not to cold outside, at least we're above freezing.

Church is in awhile. My music does include a new Carol. It is a easy one, that I already know. And one by Handel, Joy to the world. The new Carol is Still, Still, Still, a Austrian carol.

Mr G finally got Dickens Village up. I had plans for it to be the first thing done, but you know how plans work. So after church I have a few totes to put away and let my vacuum run.

Nor much here.

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

I would send some warm weather north if I could.

Yesterday was spent in getting my sewing machine and tote, never used, loaded in the Jeep so it will be easy to unload at the Cabin door. Putting stuff away so Motorhome could be moved. All this took longer than planned. I almost forgot to check oil and coolant. Dang coolant was a quart low, but nothing on the ground so don't know where it's going. I took a Poinsettia to the hospital as a thank you for caring for Garry. By the time I got the Jeep hooked up it was after 3. I had half a tank of diesel, so stopped and topped that off. Got to the house at 5. Unhooked Jeep, parked MH, and Minnie and I headed for the nursing home. The day nurse was just leaving as she opened the door for me. She told me that Capt had been awake for a little while in the afternoon. She was concerned because he was so sleepy in the morning. I told her what his life was before the strokes and now she will let him sleep in. He had eaten a little and was drinking water. Minnie doesn't like this. She didn't want to sit on his lap. She knows. He woke up a little as I told him about me day and way I was just getting there. I asked him if he wanted Minnie and I to go home so he could sleep and he nodded yes. So it was a short visit.

I am going to be invaded come tomorrow. Both of my daughters and grandsons are driving in. The grandsons want to see their Capt Grandpa. Since Garry likes to sleep in, I will spend the morning trying to find a place for boxes of stuff that came from Colorado, but haven't unpacked because I was thinking of inside painting first. Then I will go visit Garry this afternoon. This evening will be more cleaning and prep for kids.

Prayers and healing for all the needs here.

Good morning,

JUDI - If your very first block is looking fine then you're going to do well with your applique. Bummer about your cold. I feel for you. Such a small thing but can make you miserable. Suck down that chicken soup! You'll feel better.

CHRISS - when you send back Jerry's junk mail, don't write 'not at this address'. You've just verified that someone is at your address and they will keep hounding you. Put "Deceased" on the envelope instead. Not sure if that will help but it's what my post office advised me to do. Sorry you are having bad weather. I hate fog. And I don't picture you having fog.

LORI - it's good news that Jack is nagging you to walk instead of the other way around!

MARY Q - I could be wrong - I'm not trusting anything I say, think, or do these days, but it seemed Q was messed up yesterday morning. I've read a book since I've been down, but nothing else. Just sleep for the most part. Yesterday we watched Santa Clause 2 and some baking competition shows. So what did you decide to do yesterday? Chores, read, or sew??

JANA - hope the Jeep is no big thang! Sarah is so multi-talented - her show will be a smash hit! I guarantee it! And you are absolutely correct to let caregivers of today know the person they are caring for. I used to work in a nursing home and it reminded staff every day when they saw photos of this person when they were young and had more abilities. Kept us focused on the person.

LOIS - we do have a tree up - been up since Oct 10th-ish! lol! But when we were kids, my parent didn't put the tree up until after Dec 20th. Not sure why. One year it was Dec 24th and we kids were just dying with impatience that week before Christmas! But they left it up always until Epiphany - Jan 6th. Which is probably why they put it up so late.

LYN - I'm glad that the nurse was informative, gave you the truth, in a kind way. And it was very helpful that you shared that video of Garry with the staff - and told them a bit about him. Are you all situated now? MH back home? Is Kaylyn still staying with you?

FLO - how is the family doing? Hopefully easing up some?

Well, my days here are samo samo. Trying to read a couple of books but some of the meds have been messing with my vision. Print is hard to read. Sleeping less because I'm backing off the pain meds now. I would like to go upstairs - just being downstairs in 2 rooms is getting kind of boring. But I look at those steps and they are daunting! Not ready to tackle them yet. I have my CW's ready at my feet but they aren't enticing me yet. Seahawks play this afternoon. So hopefully I can stay awake for the entire game.

Prayers for everyone!

Maybe this is a beware - I have had to log in every time , last night and this morning. Gave me a error message that my log in was invalid. Also took forever to load up the page here. So if I go missing, call QIAD and tell them! I will too!

Good Morning Girls

It struck me last night--or was it in the middle of the night when I couldn't get to sleep---that Christmas Eve is 10 DAYS away!!! I have not done ANY shopping at all!!! For some reason, I just don't seem to be with the program this year. It's about 18 BELOW here this morning, so I'm definitely going to stay in today! ( Get this....42* predicted for Tuesday--I'll get out my spring coat!)

Lois.... Since you have nowhere to go today... sit back, put up your feet and enjoy the view out your window. I've learned there is nothing you can do to stop the snow from falling, so you might as well enjoy the view. I only get nervous when I, or my children have to drive in it! I may have to join you in the laundry room as I discovered I only have one pair of clean sweatpants---my daily uniform!

Judi... Great Idea... Let's just stay in today and keep warm! I think if I went outside my eye balls would freeze on contact! Though I've often thought about trying that experiment of throwing water in the air to see if it turns to snow in this cold weather.

Jana... Ah yes, what's the saying... "The Best Plans of mice and men...." I bet your village is absolutely beautiful. Years ago I had the entire set of the Precious Moments Sugartown--with 8 vignettes and all the accessory pieces. I think it's still up in my rafters! Or did I tell y'all this already! Oh I always Log out from QIAD... and from any other secure web site I go to! Not sure it's always necessary but I feel better about it.

Lyn.... So glad that the girls will be able to come down to Texas... for their opportunity to see and visit with Garry and to be your support team. I hope they will be able to stay--maybe through Christmas. I think of you often as I know these are not easy days for you. When I worked in Long Term Care pharmacy and used to deliver meds to NH's... it was always so interesting to hear about the patients--their " before" lives. I think it's a great thing for staff to know about Garry's "before" --what a great way for them to connect with him. I hope my kids will do that for me!

Chriss.. OH yes I do so love my kitchen!! For somebody that doesn't like to cook (me) I do love having a nice kitchen. Do you use the racks for the bottom of the sink that came with it? I'd like to find a rack that sits on top--I'm thinking one of those that roll up that can be put away. I figure then I won't have to have dishes drying on the counter---those things I hand wash.

Maryz... I bet those steps almost look like a mountain to you! How about one to two at a time... only with a firm arm by your side? I did a few different things.... as I have a short attention span, I read for about 5 minutes, partially cleaned my bathroom, baked a pan of brownies (for no reason), didn't sew a stitch but got some things lined up to do so. I think it will be more of the same here today.

Got up this morning and threw a rump roast in the crock pot. Evie is flying home for school today, while Brennen still has final exams. He'll be home next weekend. Kris is in Texas visiting a friend so I called Shawn to tell them to come for dinner. Guess that means I better go clean off the dining room table. I have put the featherweight sewing machine away, but there's still a few odds and ends there.

What ever y'all do today.... know that I think of you all so often and send lots of prayers!

Looking back on posts. Kaylyn had to get back to BFF place and help with horses. She left Friday evening before I got back to the Coach. She will be coming up to see her Aunt and brother and she and her Mom are on the outs, so that may get interesting.

No I have not tried to contact Garry's daughter. If I did ,guaranteed he would haunt me. She was removed from his will years ago.

The kids will only be here for 3 or 4 days. They have to get back to jobs. I will be giving gas money because both are short on funds.

Finally no problem getting into sew in site.
I hope everything is calm for awhile. It's hard to consider happy holidays when so many are struggling to just hold on. My prayers are for all in need.

MARYQ-I have pieces of sugar town and love them. If you decide to sell yours please let me know.
Well I have some 10 minute table tops to sew. Sew off I go

It was minus one 7 below wind chill for church and sunny.
Just a quick drive through to off up prayers of love and support to Lyn and Garry and healing prayers for all with medical conditions. Everyone stay safe and well with the cold and snow.
Cookies being made but a lot needs to be done yet, just like everyone else.
Just be well,
