Re: Friday 12 December
Good morning almost afternoon...I was up at 6 dressed and did a few chores decided to go ahead and bake the cc cookies. that is done and cleaned up. I actually thought I posted here, but I didnt, I did however post to Flos thread, Hope things get better for her and her family. Sometimes the holidays bring out the best in folks and sometimes the stress of the season brings ou the worse.
I have about an hour and a half to spend on JAne and then I will leave to take Val for her MRI. weather is good here blue sky and sunny 29 right now. that is typical for here,,
Sometimes things happen...I will tell you a story of my shopping trip yesterday,,,I hate going shopping and I hate the crowds and parking etc...so I go early to avoid the above...A little grumpy I started my shopping going up and down the aisles rounding the corner I heard a lovely voice singing with the (Store music) Christmas song...It was a little elderly black lady shopping and singing her heart out. she had a beautiful voice I stopped her and told her how beautiful it was and I couldnt get the smile off my face.....I continued on and still could hear her singing, (So many people either gave her a "look" or ignored her completely. ) Around the corner there she was again still singing, I stopped her and told her how she made me smile and wished her a Merry Christmas ans a God Bless..She turned to me outstretched her arms in a big strong bear hug, Im telling you I had the warm fuzzies all day,,,and still when I think of her I still get that warm feeling. I truely believe God send an Angel now and then to give you peace and He did me.
Hope the trials fo the day become small Praying for all of you XXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOO

Re: Friday 12 December
Good morning!
Been checking here, not seeing any of y'all, so waited and made breakfast. So if you see any chocolate on your screen, sorry, it's my fingers. I made donuts with a chocolate dipping sauce and it drips sometimes.
Later this afternoon I'm following Daniel to the dealership to bring him home after he drops off the jeep.. Hopefully the jeep makes it! I have AAA towing, just in case.
My cookies are all baked, well I do need another batch. The cookie monster that lives here, stitched a couple, making me short. He had good intentions, he wanted leftover cookies and the only way was to short my count! PILL!
So not much else going on here. Hopefully all are recovering well,
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Re: Friday 12 December
I would share what little warm weather we have, today mid 70's but dropping to 50° on Sunday.
Roller coaster was up yesterday afternoon. He sipped some water. The Chaplin, Patty, came in and visited a long time. I told her several stories about our travels. She prayed over Garry, who was more alert and opened his eyes often. She sang some Christmas Carol's and on O' Come All Ye Faithful, Garry's mouth was moving singing along. The nurse brought in Ensure and said the Hospitalist, a different one I haven't met, ordered it instead of pureed food. Capt sipped about half and between several sips of water.
Insurance likes to start a person's day off with a 3 a.m. email, denial letter for nursing facility.
I'm here and he's not very responsive this morning. Nurse just gave him crushed pills in applesauce and he did get it down with sips of water between. I'm waiting to talk to the Dr before making any calls.
Yesterday morning I was looking for wrapping paper in the MH closet and found the 14 little preemie hats I had crocheted a couple years ago. I've been thinking about them and being at the hospital, I've wanted to get them to a NICU. I felt like God wanted me to deliver them, so Kaylyn and I found ourselves in downtown Austin at St David's hospital. St David's has 3 hospitals, which I didn't know. Note to self, zoom out on GPS to see exactly where the place is. I thought we were going to the one on the south side of town. On the way there, Kaylyn says she had looked up Vintage thrift stores and there was one a mile from the hospital, Flamingo's Vintage. Clothes are sold by the weight, $17.99 a pound. She found a few things and Grandma made it part of her Christmas present, since Kaylyn had forgotten her wallet.
As I looked around, I found a jumpsuit out of stretchy material that looked like some outfit from another world. I asked Kaylyn if she wanted it, she declined.
I was going to post a photo of outfit, tried postimages, but it's not working right, and I'm getting a Phishing warning.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Lyn

Re: Friday 12 December
Good morning. It's sunny. The sky is blue. But it's all a trick. It is certainly not warm.
Nothing new here. Wanted to check on Lyn to see how things are going. Also wanted to see if MZ was dancing the jig yet.
Tonight is a Christmas pot luck and the rumor is that Santa will be there. I bought a Ceaser salad kit, and from the dollar store a plastic bowl with a lid and a set of tongs. I plan to take it and leave it. Remember when our grandma's put masking tape on the bottom of their dishes with their names on it? Mine has a sticker that says McCormick.
Judi, I am so glad God sent you an angel. Your story of the singing lady made me smile. I hope we both think of her often. Joy is surely contagious.
Lyn, wow, what a day. Hoping today is much better. Is there an Ombudsman who will help with an appeal to the insurance? I'm glad Kaylyn is still there, she is a great distraction.
It's a me day today. I'm debating on going into town and getting a Christmas sweatshirt to wear to the pot luck tonight. Or maybe I will just stay home and do laundry, not quite sure yet. I'll know more after breakfast.
Have a super duper day
Chriss

Garry is being transported to the nursing home in Burnet this afternoon and Hospice is set up. I spoke with the Hospitalist this morning and she feels he has maybe 2 weeks.

Re: Friday 12 December
Hi Everyone,
Lynn - Hugs for you! You have done so well in caring for Garry. My prayers are with you both.
MaryZ - Hope every day becomes easier for you! Rest for now.
Jana - I have the biggest Cookie Monster. I rolled, baked and frosted 36 sugar cookies Tuesday afternoon and I told him he couldn't have any until I arrived home after the Guild meeting at 10:00 PM. By yesterday afternoon at 3:00 PM there were nine cookies left. I took six to the next-door neighbor. (That may sound stingy, but I plan on giving them more cookies later.) I did have a few words with the Cookie Monster, and he tried to get out of it, he said he didn't realize he was eating so many. lol I can't bake fast enough. Oh, by the way I had also given him some homemade cheese crackers to eat.
I haven't put up the tree, nor sent cards, nor are there any baked cookies, and only a little bit of decorating has been done and only a little shopping, however the house is clean, and the laundry is done. I do have portioned cookie dough in the freezer (see above paragragh). I am not worried or stressed I have almost two weeks. It will all get done! LOL
