Judi, Thanks for the update on MaryZ. As for my Capt Garry, better will be when God takes him home.

Chriss, The gallbladder test last Friday showed that if Garry was not dealing with the strokes and was healthier, they would do surgery. They could put in a drain which is a very intrusive procedure and his Directive on medical care is no extreme measures to prolong life. Dr said it would be an extreme measure. They are giving him antibiotics to fight the infection, which seems to keep the pain away.

Chriss, You and Lori want to visit Judi!?? Y'all better read her post this morning. Brrr

MaryZ, I pray you get home today and can enjoy your own bed.

Apparently the person at the nursing facility didn't listen when I told them to put authorization in as Expedited request, because I got a message from insurance and it says they will answer in 10 to 14 days. 😑 Then on his insurance page I see that insurance approved his stay at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Round Rock. He's in Lakeway ❗️ I will talk to the case manager before I hunt down who made that major screw up.

I wish I knew why God is leaving Garry like this. Garry cannot recover. Why is God keeping him here? Again, I thank you all for the prayers.

Have a good day and God bless all here.
Lyn

Back again with a message from Maryz this morning she is awake feeling pretty good and waiting for therapy in a few hours to get her on her way home. they will probably do a quick study on how she should behave at home ( whoa are they in for a surprize) Bill came up alreay this morning with her favorite coffee in her favorite mug ( a good guy there)xxxoooShe wanted to get on the forum but was unable to connect this morning,,

LYN my heart is breaking for you...Know As soon as I say I am praying I actually talk to God that very moment to make sure I dont forget. You are an inspiration to us all on what a caregiver should be,,, This is a journey no on wants to make. Your love for Capt Garry is so profound, Here is hoping God hears your p
prayers and that Garry's next journey is an easy one...

Dear Lyn I wish I had the words to help you thru the rough days with Garry. Know that you never walk alone and are surrounded by unseen sisters in prayer. Your tears are shared by many now as you wait for your loved one to walk into the arms of GOD.

Good morning!

Up and out and back, before the sun made a appearance! Daniel needed a ride home from the automotive shop who's working on his Charger. Needed a special tool to do some wheel work. Daniel does all the work on his cars, but needed a bit of extra help here. His buddy called the other day, this is the 9ne with the ne job, that we've been waiting for and most likely by the new year, the new job will happen. Daniel is hoping so. He has a of irons in the fire that he's juggling too!

So I've crawled back under a snuggy warm quilt till its a decent time to be up. Then I have a cookie mess to clean. Sarah was swamped yesterday with work, and Ethan needed cookies to take to church for a youth activity, so Grandma stepped in and made the cookies. They came out rather good. My cooking skills have diminished and not everything comes out. These cookies did. Mr G enjoyed them. Ethan didn't need all of the batch, so Mr G commandeered the leftover ones.

Today should be quiet. I need to check the tracking on my tree. I have laundry that needs to be done too. And several batches more of cookies for the neighbors. Ethan is looking forward to doorbell ditching the bags of cookies. He's a teenager!

Thank you for the Maryz updates. And the Captain too! Such a difficult time, but know you're loved and watched over.

Our new little one is still trying to jump the gun, but so far, we have him contained. We are hoping for 35 weeks, , which is in January, but may not make it.

So I'm off,

Hugs and heartfelt prayers,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Guess who is snowbound this morning!πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ. I'm guessing we have about 8-10" out there. It's kind of hard to tell looking out my front door as it seems to want to blow around and make drifts. High temp for today is 23* so it sure isn't going any where. Even for the mess that the state of Minnesota is in....  They do a fabulous job on the highways. Since I'm on a private road, it will be a little while before I can get out of my garage!

Judi... Oh color me "jealous" I haven't been in my sewing room for over a week and I'm starting to get the hee-bee-jeebies! Now that the tree is up and all the non-used stuff is back in the garage I'm hoping to get in there today. Good news that Mary did well and will be headed home soon!

Lois.... I can almost taste those gingerbread cookies. Oh how good they must be dunked in coffee!! Hope Bill's appointment is just a little check up and nothing serious!! πŸ™

Lyn.... I am sorry to hear that on top of Garry's physical situation, that you are having to deal with insurance idiots! We do wonder why God seems to have a mind of His own sometime, when we pray that He take our loved one soon to save them pain and discomfort. It's so hard to watch our loved ones struggle as we pray for peace for them. May God be kind in the days ahead.

Jana.... Perhaps Enoch will prove to be a little Christmas miracle! Even if he can stay put until then...every day counts but you just never know what God has in mind for His cherished children.

Lyn.... Send a little of that 80* and sunshine up here! I'd even take just enough to melt the ice and snow on our roads!

Chriss.... You have your furnace on??? How cold does it get there at night? Gosh I just want to give your Dad a big hug for taking such good care of my friend. So excited for you to get new windows!! Now that my kitchen is done, I'm thinking my next project will be window coverings. I'm absolutely hating the mini blinds that are on every window--except the kitchen. If I won the lottery I'd have some professional come in and make drapes.---on those rods that have little remote controls to open and close them. All the blinds in this house need to be replaced.

Maryz.... In case you get online once you get home and get settled.....WELCOME HOME so glad to hear from Bill that all went well. Am anxious to hear how you feel now that you are up and walking. I want to hear what I may have to look forward too!

Tomorrow afternoon Katie and I are having a little neighborhood get together at her house. Kind of Holiday Craft Fair and Tea. We have some new gals to the area and would like to just have a visit. We are each going to put out some of our craft stuff for purchase---very cheap----Like think Dollar Tree! And have Door prizes. Serving cookies, coffee, apple cider. I'm sure not in it to make any money. I just want to get rid of stuff. What ever is left over is going to the St. Vincent store in town. I know a gal that works there and she is going to look at my stuff and see what she thinks they will able to sell. I don't want to drop off stuff that won't do them any good. Katie like to make a few bucks... me I don't care, I'd give it all away!!

Since I over slept big time this morning, I better get in the shower as I have to go over to Katie's to help set up.

Wishing you all a very Wonderful Wednesday. My prayers go out to each and every one of you.

Maryq, I saw your post to Chriss and laughed. It gets cold in CA, just not as cold as MN. In SoCal we could see 80 during the day and drop down to the 40's at night. Hope you craft items find good homes.

Jana, cookie ding dong ditch sounds fun.

Lyn, big hug. The dread of dealing with Gary must be heart wrenching. You want what's best, but you also want him to get better. Hope you are able to work out the nursing home problem. Oh and BTW we won't be visiting Judi until the weather is nicer.

Judi, thank you for the update on Maryz. Glad she is away and doing well.

Chriss, I'm so glad your dad was able to fix the furnace. Yay for warm toes.

I've got a long list of things to do today so I better get.

Have a lovely day.

I hate to tell y'all wanting new window coverings, that if you can sew a straight line, i,e,. Quilt, you can make your own coverings. They really are not hard. I have made lined drapes, pinch pleat, lined drapes, on a traverse rod, , ones that have the big rings, rod pocket curtains, all types. I did all the windows in my mom's house and all the windows in my Concord house. And some at Sarah's house here. There are many books and now you have You Tube for help. Just watch for sales on drapery fabric.

I'm not kidding, they are easy! There's pleater tape for the header in pinch pleat and for the ring top. And the hems are sewn in using your machine blind hem foot and stitch.

When I worked at a fabric shop, we were closed down by corporate headquarters due to a roof break and flood. I got yards and yards of quality drapery fabrics for really cheap. That's how I redid my mom's. Not only the drapes, but a Star of Bethlehem quilt for her bed, pillow shams, dust ruffle, etc.. All matching, in pinks!

So if you have a discount fabric outlet, it's very doable. And not hard! And the pattern books, Simplicity, McCall's have patterns too. You can do it!

Jana

Update - FedEx behaved and my tree is here and already up in the window. I did good for size, it fits like a glove 8n the space. No needing to move furniture, a very good thing. Now resting my leg, then I do the orn. I have enough ornaments to do two trees of this size! Mr G is hauling the old out to be recycled.
