Good Friday Morning I guess today I will work on Christmas decorating and Fall stuff put away. The boys brought up 3 bins of linens table cloths napkins, placemats and quilts. Toppers and table runners...I will sort them and get rid of some very old stuff and set out the stuff I will keep. I plan on putting out the village this weekend. It is an all day chore or 2 days as I get older.
I did start labeling the fabric on the Jane Austen quilt. I love how the pattern is written. Each fabric lists what it will be used for. and what size the pieces need to be cut so you will know right away how much of each piece needs to be cut. and It takes away the anxiety of "do I have enough?" This quilt will take much longer to do than other quilts..it is pretty though.
Tonight we have birthday dinner with my sister and my friend . We go to a hungarian restuarant with very good food we have been going there for many years,,,
Well I need to get busy here. I will organize the fall stuff and get it put away. Then I need to put all the everyday stuff away to make room for the christmas village,,,(probably wouldnt hurt to dust the mantle before i do that,,,Have a wonderful day...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,
It's a great day today! I've got a date for my hip replacement - Dec 9th. Yay!!! Now I can go dancing for New Year's! Around the kitchen, into the dining room, through the living room, past the stairs, and back into the kitchen. It will be great! I might not be doing the Watusi, but a slow buckle polisher would be nice.
LORI - I will consider it a good omen to receive my new hip on your mom's birthday.
I'm doubly grateful for the handwork pattern you are sending me! I'm going to be needing it since I'll be on the lower floor of the house for several days - where there is no sewing machine! I think going through ten boxes of stuff is quite an achievement.
JANA - Well sounds like that ramp has come in handy over the years. So generous of you to share it. Is it a pain to store? Keeping Mr. G in my prayers for his procedure in Dec. Aaron has really been a parent's joy!
JUDI - I wanna party at your house for the holidays! Let the decorating begine! Sounds like there's going to be lots of fun and tasty things to eat and drink! I don't bake much either anymore, but back in the day - I was a white floury tornado in the kitchen in the weeks before Christmas. And everything was double batches, too! This year, maybe I'll make a single batch of Bill's favorite - Oatmeal Craisin.
VAL - You are busy! Glad you're getting extra rest. Sounds like you needed it! So lots of sewing going on - what are you working on?
MARY Q - Sorry all your people seem to be scattering for the holidays. We'll always have a seat at the table for you! So what new things have you come up with for the craft show? And when is that show? Shows and bazaars here are just about over with. Any closer to Christmas and sales droop because people have already done their shopping.
LOIS - I'm glad to hear someone else has a room that "catches it all"! We need one more room in this house just to be the catch all! Usually it's the quilting room. The 11 ft frame pretty much fills it up, but I also have 2 tall freestanding cabinets - one is full of my extra craft supplies - paints, books, beads, embroidery, etc. and the other is overflow pantry, dishes, small appliances, etc. And in a crunch, stuff just gets tossed in and the door gets closed! Closed doors always annoy the cat because he knows there is always a comfy, hidden spot in there for him to sleep!
LYN - How did all the evaluations come out yesterday for Garry? And did you check out the RV park? You can receive mail there, too. And a large hot tub to soak away some stress . . .
FLO - How is your new fur baby adjusting?
CHRISS - What's the story at your house? at Dad's house? Y'all have been bouncing from crisis to crisis. My prayer bones are getting chafed!
Hope Dad is doing better. Is he home from the hospital?
Yesterday I finished my table runner/wall hanging. And we got 6 more pages done on our scrapbook. We COULD do more, but one of us "grows weary". So we called it yesterday and will do another 6 pages today. I hope to finish it tomorrow. It takes both of us - he does the technical, computer work and I have the more artistic eye to arrange the pages. We both choose the photos. Bill can only handle about 2 hours at a time so after a while he went outside to split wood to take a break.
Today I'll gather up my four UFO's - Swap and Lotto blocks - and make a plan for them. I have no other projects in progress or even planned at the moment. It's a good time in my sewing "schedule" to have a hip replacement! My minestrone soup turned out really good! I was surprised! And I don't even care for minestrone. Our Olympia friends are stopping by about 1pm today so if they haven't had lunch yet, we'll offer them soup and crusty french bread. These are the same friends we helped out in Sept and Oct with meals, chores, and errands when they were both laid up with knee surgery and broken ankle. They are finally up and walking! and driving!
So - tonite's supper will be leftover soup, unless we eat it for lunch. If that happens then it will be Cheerios!
Cheerio!

Good morning!
The bells on my clock just chimed, letting me know it's 7 am. Time to get the day going. We got a bit of rain and maybe more today. The temperature is cold enough for snow.
I got the bedding changed yesterday. It's a big chore for me. I tease that I get my steps in for the day in making it! So I now have a little bit of laundry to catch up. A quick trip to the grocery store. Sarah has everything ready for dinner. She found a 25 pound turkey and that's already thawing. When I was at the grocery store the other day, I saw butter molded into a turkey shape, so just for fun, those butter turkeys may end up on the table.
We too got our date for Mr G's next test. 17th of December. Maybe sooner, we're on a cancelation wait list.
I too, am putting away the fall decorations. Getting the mantel dusted too. I'm starting with the smallest room, my front room. It's the Dickens Village and candy cane room. All the decorations for that room, live in the office closet. I have a very large box that holds my sleigh, which is packed with the table runners, stockings, pillows etc. This sleigh is big enough to hold a 8 year old child, Lila! I keep wrapped gifts in it, next to the big tree and the train tracks go around it. The tree for the front room is my white tree, that is 6 feet tall, but very slim to sit in the window. Only red ornaments and bows on that tree. I decorate 3 trees in the house, one small one on the porch and a new light tree on the deck. Daniel said he'll help with my yard decorations only after Thanksgiving is over. He's a chip off the old block, Scrooge, aka Mr G!
So that the plans for today. Also time in the Batt Cave.
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

I didn't sleep well last night. I hope the coffee kicks in soon.
I was only there to see Speech Therapist evaluation. She recommended food be small bites and he can use a straw. She said 10 days won't be enough. I told her they need to start requesting more time from the insurance now and not wait.
Yesterday I went to the RV Park, it's 5 miles from the Rehab Hospital, which is much nicer than driving 46 miles, one way, from the house. I made a reservation starting today for one month. I will load some stuff into the MH, hook the Jeep on and head in early this afternoon. I told the staff at the hospital that I wouldn't be there until late afternoon today.
MaryZ, Thank you for recommending the Park. I will be in B44. They were going to put me in a spot on the C row, but I drove by it and there was a tree that would have hit the MH on the driver side. Branches hanging 10 ft off the ground and on to the side. I need 14 ft height clearance.
Valerie, Thank you for the information. Garry and I have the same plan. I will read over coverage and call insurance.
I best get moving. Thank you all for your continued prayers.
Lyn

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today. I think we are starting to actually see winter pass through.
Dad is home from the hospital. They said they don't know what caused his issue, but it's resolved. The home health person will come in and change his dressing, and he needs to keep his leg up, so the swelling goes down.
My stepbrother stayed with his mom and saw how life really is here. A real eye opener. I prayed about Judy and her getting ticked off at me. I realized I wasn't always including her and was answering nurse questions without giving her a chance. I decided that yesterday I would sit back and let her take care of whatever. She needed me to help each time. But I need to be more sensitive and be sure to include her and I haven't been doing that like I should. She won't remember but I learned a lesson.
I went to my thyroidologist doctor. He does glands and has a fancy title for that. I have an adrenal gland something and he wants to do lab work to check it out. So I need to pick up a prescription at Costco, take a pill and have the bloodwork the next morning. Amazing the things they find in your body when they do random scans for other things. Too bad a head to toe MRI isn't included with every yearly physical. Imagine the medical insurance costs then.
So now I am skimming over your posts from this past week, trying to catch up.
Judi, I love the potato man story. I looked up the Christmas Ribbons pattern and there are a few different ones, all lovely. You amaze me at how much decorating you do each year. You have much more energy than I do.
Lori, did your niece love the clothes line with mittens on it? I found a pattern in a magazine that was a clothes line with elf clothes made out of felt on it. Little shorts, hats, shirts and stockings decorated with ribbon and embroidery. I started it but like everything didn't finish it. Great news that Jack is doing better. He will be chasing squirrels in no time. Glad the gas leak is fixed. I often make a todo list but it rarely gets done. Just a waste of ink and paper.
Maryq, next week will be an exciting week for you. New countertops, sink and DW. woo hoo. The answer is YES. I do sometimes want to smack my stepsiblings. But this event where my stepbrother had to stay with his mom one on one was a big eye opener for him. If that is the only reason dad had the hospital stay, it worked. I often look for the reason behind things to see how God works.
Lyn, yay for getting Garry's rehab approved. That Kaylyn is a great kid (young lady) I'm so glad she is there; it will make your waiting time seem shorter because you have someone to chat with as time stands still. I think once you have him settled it will be easier to take care of yourself and other things needing to be done. PT is a game plan and not so up in the air like a hospital stay. Thanks for the prayers, I have been saying them for you too. So glad you are staying closer to the hospital and things are moving forward. hugs my friend.
Maryz, Minestrone soup is a favorite of mine, my ex MIL made the best but she had cooked for one person for so long she made a small pot, not enough for all of us. So glad you are moving forward and going to get those joints replaced. Nice to have everything scheduled. Just read your soup turned out really good. Send me the recipe so I can give it a shot. Love the table runner.
Ok, time to get ready for cardio rehab then off to the parents where I will see if they need anything. I think I will do something quick and easy for their dinner tonight and cook something for tomorrow.
You girls have a great day,
Chriss

Good Morning Girls
YEAH the Sunshine is back!!!
Judi.... Maybe when we all get our Christmas decorations up... how about we post pictures! I'll help! It's so fun, for me anyway, to see what y'all do with your homes at Christmas time. This is when I kind of miss my big house, as I had lots of room to decorate--- a main tree, little trees downstairs, pine garland all lit up around an archway, a village set up in the window seat! I do have a fireplace mantel here, so that's new and fun to decorate with garland and lights---I'm all about the lights!
Maryz... Such great news that you have your surgery set!!! L & L will be around to help out a little? It's an over night in the hospital thing right? Not a same day thing? I marked it on my calendar for extra prayers that day---it's really not that far off!!! This year I made plain aprons for the craft fair, and still have some hot pads, lace ornaments and gift card holder thingees left over from last year. Katie is doing the same craft fair so we are trying not to duplicate each other. I did make a few "dinner scarves" that Lois told me about, and a few Nursing covers. Just a lot of random stuff. What ever is left over is getting donated!!!--Probably to the St. Vincent store in town. I'm contemplating taking one or two of my quilts --but we shall see! PS your table runner turned out pretty darn cute!!!
Lyn.... So sorry you aren't sleeping well, but gosh, girl friend you sure do have a lot on your plate. I'm glad you found a spot for the MH to be closer... 46 miles is a long haul to do every day to visit. Most definitely, I'd urge the facility to get going on PA for more time at rehab.
Chriss... SO glad to hear that Dad is home from the hospital. I always say "God works in mysterious ways" You just never know He can work out things. Have you talked to your step-brother at all about care for his Mom? yup, I'm pretty excited about the new kitchen--not sure what more---getting rid of beige counter top or the ugly white sink! I have to be up at 0600 Tuesday morning for the guys!! YIKES!!!
Jana....Guess I should probably do the same thing you are.... get the fall decor off the mantel and run a little dust rag over it before I haul out Christmas stuff. Is your white tree a flocked one? Just once before I die, I'm going to have a white flocked tree with blue lights. Am even contemplating buying a new fake one at HL---50% off!!
Oh dear, just looked at the clock... I better get in gear. I'm meeting Kevin for lunch today. We couldn't meet last friday for his birthday so we are making it today. Then it's home to clean up messes I didn't get to yesterday! I have 2 quilt tops laying on the floor ready to be pinned--just have to decide which one to do first!!
Wishing you all a happy Friday and a Great Weekend

Chriss, I'm glad to hear you dad is home and doing better. I'm sure it's not an ideal situation at there house. There is a fine line in letting your stepmom helping out with medical issues because she won't remember what is being said. And they tend to make things up. My mom would tell me about trips she went on with my dad that never happened. The mind wanders a bit. I haven't finished the mitten project yet. It will be done today or tomorrow and I need to wait for a hoop to put it in.
Jana, I should get the angel in the mail today.
Judi, glad the new pattern is going well. Sounds like it's a better pattern than the last one. Happy decorating.
Lyn, glad you will be closer to the rehab. That will make your life much easier. Interesting that 10 days is the rule.
Maryq, have a fun lunch.
I need to get Jack out for a walk and then get ready for PT. I think I slept wrong because my shoulder is a little angry this morning. I will finish up the mittens today or tomorrow depending on time. Jack has laser this afternoon. I need to run the vacuum and dust a bit at some point. I still need to go though projects and see what's what.
Have a lovely day.

Morning
New fur baby, or couch cow as I call her is adjusting well. She & SJ while they aren't cuddling they are getting along. They slept together last night in same kennel and dinner time went smoothly. She is a rescue from a tiny camping trailer. The foster family that had her made sure she was clean and healthy. She is attaching to us quickly and loves the big back yard to explore. While we are on 11 acres all around house totalling an acre completely is fenced with back and front yard separate.
Time to scoot
Flo

Maryz, cute wall hanging. I bet you aren't going to be doing much of anything except recovering after your surgery.
