Good morning,
Sorry I have been missing but Saturday we went to my nieces 50th birthday party it was nice but the DJ was way to loud for that size of the room we loved seeing family but I'm not into shouting all night long we left early because we are not a fan of driving in the dark.
Yesterday we went out to breakfast then went food shopping bunch of dollars later and didn't get all of thanksgiving yet it only a matter of getting a sm turkey and that's about it .
Today is pt and after today I have only 3 more times to go all the wash is done so when I come home I will clean do half today and finish tomorrow.
My foot and ankle is doing much better so I'm not to worried.
I haven't been sewing I'm taking this week off.
I have no idea for dinner tonight .
Well I hope your day is good.
Prayers go out to all in need.
Lois

Good morning,
LOIS - glad to hear your foot/ankle are starting to improve. I don't know why DJ's are always so loud - maybe because they are so close to the loud music they've become HOH and don't realize they are so loud.
LORI - I did make a loaf of that pumpkin cranberry orange pecan bread for us. The recipe gave alternate healthier subs and called for 1/3 to be whole wheat instead of regular flour, as well as only 1/3 c sugar instead of 1 cup, and a few other things I believe. The bread turned out to be an unappetizing khaki green color. It tasted OK but nothing that set my taste buds singing. I might try it again later using the regular recipe. I'm happy to share this recipe with you if you wish. How is your shoulder?
CAROL - so nice to "see" you! A bummer about getting drenched at Mass. I hope it was a short Mass since you were sitting, steaming in your wet clothes. And if it wasn't, then I hope God gave you extra credit!
CHRISS - So loving of you to make meals for your parents. I'm certain they appreciate it. Hope Dad is doing OK and will soon be back in harness. I, too wondered what the wanna-be thieves wanted to buy with our $2,000. Maybe Christmas shopping? I always wonder, when people steal money or gifts for Christmas, just what they think they are celebrating. It certainly isn't the birth of Jesus!
JANA - yay for having 36 feet of display area (your 3 shelves). What are you going to put up there? Can you reach these shelves? I looked at all my Christmas stuff this year, but just don't have the oomph to put it all out. Only a few of my favorite things are out. Mostly because I don't want to have to put them all away again.
MARY Q - I hope I got you re-oriented to our property! Don't want you getting lost here in the hinterlands! You know, BLOCK magazine is geared for using layer cakes, charm packs, and jelly rolls. It might be nice to have a TG potluck with all your neighbors who don't otherwise have plans.
LYN - I hope things are looking better today. We are very familiar with the hospital you mentioned. Both my sister and Antonio have been patients there. It's about 5 miles south of our RV park in Hudson Bend - when we are there. Thank you for your updates. You must be exhausted! Get some good rest for yourself.
TINA B - you had quite a list of big jobs to do yesterday. How did it go? Where are you going on your mini-vacation?
JUDI - Now that the bar is finished, and the room cleaned, what's next? Is Christmas going to come out today? Do you have shelves in your storage room so you can see and access each of your totes? Our storage area is under our stairs but you have to crawl in to get things. I can stack only 3 totes high. This space is accessible from our family room, and also from the hallway outside our bedroom door - a secret passage if you will. Great fun for kids and later grandkids! But it ALL needs to come out, be sorted, and reorganized. I know stuff besides Christmas is in there and much of it needs to go away.
Well, yesterday certainly seemed to get away from me. I was going to do some laundry but Lara asked if she could do hers and since they have smaller space to store dirties, I let her have the W/D. I'll do mine today. I decided to make cookies for the tree guys who came back yesterday to buck up our logs. And chicken salad to make them sandwiches. I'm slow in the kitchen these days so that (and clean up) took me half my morning. I got 5 CW's set, pinned, and later stitched during TV. I read for a while, worked on my table runner, and took a few short walks outside to see what was what with the wood. Bill and Lee got a 1/2 cord split and stacked in the woodshed. They've barely made a dent in the wood. Bill decided to put our other two trees off until spring. It's too muddy out there to work, plus, we need to burn wood this winter (we have two wood stoves in the house - upstairs and down) to make room to stack incoming wood!
After the Seahawks game we watched a Harry Potter movie last night - Goblet of Fire. 3-1/2 hours. I stayed awake for the entire flick! My better half slept through about 3/4 of the movie. Today's plan is to go to the chiropractor and to stay out of the kitchen. Three kitchen days in a row is a lot for me these days. I'm going to work on table runner and also join the two large CW pieces, each 1/3 of my quilt. I thawed my chicken pot pie yesterday but then Lara brought over a charcuterie board so we nibbled on that instead. So I had planned to bake that pie tonite but Bill just reminded me we are going out with Tex & Annette tonite for her birthday. Hope that pie holds another day!
I'm using Sewline Water Soluble Glue pen to hold my 2-1/2" squares in place for my cathedral windows. This works amazingly well. And I notice the glue pens are on sale today for 50% off - refills, too - at QIAD. In case anyone needs these and didn't notice the sale.
Gene came home from hospital. They decided not to do the endoscopy because of his age. So he'll be having some dr appts this week, but he's doing pretty well for now. He, and all our family, appreciates your prayers!
have a marvy monday!

Morning
Up and about early. Getting ready to take the heads from the kids van to machine shop then get some Thanksgiving groceries. We are going into the "city" so will be near a big Walmart. So we want some special items our small Walmart doesn't carry.
Not sure how long shop will have heads. They could be ready today or it may take a few weeks. Will know when we drop them off.

Good morning, Nothing is ever DoNE around here, we still need 2 glass shelves for the bar but for the most part it is done, The T shirt quilt waits for the last jersey. I expect to hear from GLoria to work on hers.
I have a package to go to the post office today and a couple of gifts (birthday) to wrap for a birthday dinner on friday. We are going to a Hungarian Restuarant that is a favorite of ours. It will clebrate my sister and Glorias Birthdays, Then saturday Glorias daughter is having a surpeise birthday party for her too..She gets cake twice how lucky is that, we get to go to that one also.
Bright sunshine again here,,those windows wait for a cloudy day. 9 waiting I lose count but there are 7 in the sun room and the 2 kitchen windows also I will do the kitchen today as they have an over hang and not very sunny. but the sun room by name has to have a cloudy day, then just when I think I have a handle on the house stuff I looked in the china cabinet,,,which holds tons of glass ware,,,and you can see dust...so those glasses will have to hit the dishwasher this week and some will go down to the bar, Wine glasses cordials and beer glasses...then there are all the fancy glasses that we have collected from years of traveling around the country, Ken built me that china cabinet to hold china yet there is no china in there,,,just glasses and fancy plates...and souvineers of our travels..and a few memories that the kids made. At 4 Liam made a "potato man" by sticking pieces of straws in to a half of a raw potato...well he smelled pretty bad after a week or so...but a gift from a grandchild is a gift,,,so I put him out on the porch till hr dried out and stopped smelling. DD said thro it away...and so did everyone else...But I prevailed,,,and "Potato man " is hard and dry and sitting on the shelf..where he will remain,,,this is not negotiable. (13 yrs later)
Well I need to get going here, coffee is cold so I need a new cup/
Prayers for Garry and all others who need ( Dont we all) Hope your days are filled with memories...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Monday morning, I hope we hear from the insurance today.
Yesterday Garry was a little better. He was able to hold the fork & spoon and glass. Friends, Bob & Carol visited, I think that helped. Kaylyn is here for I'm not sure how long. I smuggled Minnie into see him. That was good for Garry & Minnie both.
I woke up wide awake at 3:30 and laid there thinking my phone was going to ring, but it didn't. I tossed and turned til 7:30. Time to get moving.
MaryZ, Glad to hear Gene is home.
Judi, Sounds like the wedding was wonderful.
Play with fabric for me, please.
Lyn

Good morning!
I have the rain and clouds. Up too, all through the night. Mr G has a nuclear stress test at 8 am. No food after 2 am, last night, so I made him a sandwich, left it in the refrigerator, but of course, he didn't listen when I told him where it was, so he woke me up , saying I can't find it. So I was awake, then set a alarm to get him up, again, to get dressed to leave with Sarah. Finally got him off, it's a big chore! I plan at least a hour with some stuff readied the night before. Sarah is handling breakfast on the way home after the test. He had to eat in the middle of the night due to blood sugar levels.
So my day will be slow. Daniel came and fussed what he didn't like, so now it's just caulk and some paint. He new jeep has a head gasket leak or Crack. It's under warranty, so will go to the shop during Christmas break. Just so you know, a head in the motor is a big block of metal that the pistons work in, that makes compression so that energy can. be transferred to the transmission to then turn the wheels to make car the .move.
Well, I need to start laundry and clean the kitchen. I tried a new cookie recipe, big flop! So no cookies.
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

I think someone here asked if Garry understands what's going on, yes he comprehens that he's had another stroke. He told our friends, "I'm goin' round the bend." Thursday and Friday he was telling nurses his favorite jokes. He was speaking more clearly then, but speech is getting harder to understand.

Good Morning All
Happy Monday Everyone! While I used to dislike Mondays because it meant going back to work, now I love them as it mean a whole new week!!! Like a big blank sheet of paper to start out fresh!
Lois... Good to see you back! What is it about DJ's and weddings etc that they have to play the music so loud!! I remember back in the day, being sort of warned about too loud music and how all of us Baby Boomers that cranked up the music when we were young, now all need hearing aids!!! Glad the PT is working for you as well. If I had a good idea of what to fix for supper, I'd share it with you, but then again, you know how I like to cook!!! NOT
Maryz.... Oh yes MSQ is all about precuts and I have to admit I did go little crazy with them, especially when charm packs were on "daily deal". I have quite a few that KC gave me of all things, layer cakes, jelly rolls and a few charm packs. Yesterday I cut out a panel of big flowers on some fabric KC gave me and played with that while supper was cooking. (ADD kicked in again) Now I have my bearings at your place. Will you be able to use all the dead wood in your fireplaces? I'm guessing like most wood it needs to dry out for a year or so? Oh how I remember splitting wood to keep our house warm back in 1982-84! Which is why I never wanted to see another log of wood!! Love my gas fireplace! (tho I do like the smell of a good old wood fire)
Flo... For a minute I couldn't think of what "heads" you would be taking to the big city!!
Then I remember you were working on your DS' van!! Hopefully it will be a fast easy trip and you can them back today -- so you don't have to make another trip. What big city do you have to go to?
Judi.... Remember that old saying "A woman's work is never done"!!! It's so true---only because other people come up behind her and mess everything up! And just when you think you have all the windows done in the fall, spring comes around again and it's time to start all over. I never did get all my outsides done this fall. And I'm still having trouble with streaks and it's driving me crazy!!! But only on the sunny days, so today it's fine--no sunshine.
Lyn.... Prayers continue for Garry. Please take care of yourself. I'm glad Kaylyn is there with your for a little while at least. I had to giggle at Garry telling jokes!! I'm glad he's able to understand what's happening to him and around him.
Jana....Don't you hate that when a new recipe turns out to be a dud!!! I tried the recipe on the back of the Craisin's bag and they were awful... unless I goofed up somehow. From now on I stick with good old Betty Crocker! Though my BC cookbook is almost in pieces and taped together all over!!
Chriss.... Love that saying.. Don't "should" on yourself! I wonder if it's just women that always think they didn't do it right or didn't do enough. I have a lot of things I know I "shouldn't haved" but it's important for all of us with that list to let it go and learn. You can keep the rain, thanks, because the time it gets here it will be snow and I'm not ready for that!!!
Yesterday was actually fairly productive! I got the borders on a UFO from the tub closet, got another UFO sandwiched and pinned and will work on that this afternoon. As usual, I went out to the garage something, probably more TP, but dug in a tote box and found this panel of big flowers KC gave me. You guys know "Holly Holderman" designer? KC was obsessed with her. Fortunately, I have put the pattern with the fabric, so I cut the flowers out (10" squares) and then played with them for a while. I'll get back to that after I finish the quilt I pinned--which is a small version of the Herringbone quilt from MSQ (only because I kind of messed up--long story)
For now I need to get dressed. Katie is going to run to Hobby Lobby and I think I'll ride along--tho there's nothing I really NEED, it's always fun to look and you know something is always ON SALE at HL!!
wishing you all a marvelous Monday!

Re: Monday November 17,2025
Lois, sounds like some fun celebrations for your sister.
Judi, I have been slowly getting rid of stemware and dishes. My dish hutch has all kinds of things in it. A few larger plates and tea cups, and other cute things. The only set of China I've had was my Nana's. I never bought any of my own. I saved things the kids did, but have thrown a lot of it away. My mom saved every little thing Jonathan made her. She also saved every card she ever received. I keep finding more in different places. Recently found some in the Christmas stuff in the garage rafters. I'm sure there will be more.
Maryq, when you are retired, everyday is the weekend. Did you find anything you just had to have at HL?
Lyn, it's good that Gary knows what's going one. He must be doing pretty good if he's' telling jokes. Glad to hear he's improving.
Jana, maybe you'll get a little nap in some time today. Bummer about the Jeep. Good thing it's warrantied.
Maryz, take it easy on yourself. Can Bill help out with the clean up to give you a break? When I cook, Bill cleans. It's the perfect arrangement.
Chriss, how is your dad doing? Are you still having rain up there? We are getting a break this morning, but it's supposed to start again this afternoon.
I started a small wool and embroidery pattern over the weekend. I had it kitted up and ready to make. My nieces birthday is in December and I needed something to send her. It's a clothes line with mittens hanging on it. I bought the pattern at Road2CA a few years ago. I've got everything sewn down and just working on the embellishments now. The fun part. I might make one for my sister as well. I'll change it up a bit. Her birthday is also in December. I like to send at least one thing handmade.
I sent off 6 quilts to philanthropy last week. Some of the quilt for vets were given away at a luncheon on Thursday. They posted pictures and I got to see the ladies that took my quilts. It makes me smile. Jack and I took a walk this morning. He's able to go a little farther each day. He needs to build up the muscles in his leg. He gets so happy when we go out. I'll take him on another walk this afternoon if it doesn't rain too early. I have my watercolor class today.
Dinner will be sloppy joes. I haven't had those since I was a kid. I saw a packet in the store and thought I'd give it a try.
Have a lovely day.
