Good morning,

It's chilly out but I'm inside and that's ok.

Yesterday we went to Walmart I needed a few things then we came home and I washed 2 loads of clothes got a phone call from Melissa's mother she really love her quilt she said it was a nice surprise also liked the colors and I was happy.

Today I already have wash going and will finish wash today also going upstairs to start the snowman quilt yes I want to get that done the party is next Saturday .

For dinner today I'm making pork tenderloins in the crock pot this way that's cooking while I'm quilting.

Well that's my story for today.
I hope you all have a great day

Prayers to all.

Good Sunday morning,

I finally figured out Post Image again after I lost it from my phone, so I posted several photos of our little visitor's visit if you'd like to see them. And while I was about it, I also posted a photo of CHICKIE. She is turning 80 this week and the family had a big party for her.

LOIS - I missed it - a party? For whom? I do recall you were making the smaller snowman quilt for someone bit I forgot just who. And now there's a party?? Will there be cake? I'm in if it's white cake! And then you had to go and spoil it all by mentioning laundry, which reminded me of the last time I checked our hamper. I guess we'll be doing the Maytag Mambo during our football game this afternoon.

LORI - I was hoping for wonderful treasures in those boxes! But tea cups are nice. My mom loved to drink her coffee from pretty tea cups. Sorry you have a cold. I hope you cooked enough chicken last night to make soup today!

CHRISS - I love Bingo but don't get a chance to play often. And I never win when I do, but it's fun. But winning $75 would make it a lot more fun! Congratulations!!

MARY Q - V8 juice is a great way to get in your veggies. With beer or not. :D I wouldn't be driving in snow either! I hope it's clear weather come TG if you want to go to WI. Sounds like a fun gathering. But if you stay home what's the plan? Go to your other son's? Gather the neighbors? Or a sewing fest in your play room?

VAL - I don't remember the name of the LQS in Pahrump. It was probably 15 years ago the last time I was there. But I Googled A Piece of Alaska QS. Looks like they have a lot to offer you! Have fun! Report back!

JANA - when you are fussing around a bit in your sewing room, are you fussing with your JA? It's a BIG project!

JUDI - how did the hockey games go? Did Liam's team win? So I've been wondering - what does it mean that you are a VIP customer at Hallmark? It just occurred to me to ask, and now that I've found a Hallmark shop in Tacoma, just across the Narrows Bridge from me, maybe I want to know more about this.

I'm trying to think what I did yesterday. Oh! I remember - Costco! A big trip, too. And then I had to put it all away and package stuff for the freezer. I was beat and my low back said, "Enough!". So I spent a few hours on the heating pad, reading a book. And Costco was missing about five things we usually buy - but they had a few new things, too. I've already got a list of ten items for the next shipping trip.

Today, I hope I can get my Christmas dishes and glassware out. Last year I gave half my set to Sharona in Colorado and my sister delivered it right to her house when they went to visit their DD and DSIL who live close to Sharona. But I still have service for 8!. In the afternoon, thanks to LOIS, it looks like I'll be doing laundry since the Maytags are are right off the family room where the Hawks will be playing. When not folding clothes, I'll be working on my CW's. My carpal tunnel is picking up again, so I'm back to wearing my wrist braces. I'll say this for these braces - they make good pin cushions when I'm using lots of little pins!

What is everybody here doing for Thanksgiving? I think L&L are going to his family, so we might gather up some friends who won't be with their families. I'll cook a turkey breast and all the usual trimmings. Bill has already requested pumpkin pie with whipped cream and a small shake of nutmeg on top. Though, just going camping by ourselves doesn't sound like a bad idea either.....

Happy Sunday!

Good Morning It is SNOWING the grass and trees are covered. weather people said 1-3 inches...but the street is just wet right now. I have to say usually I am thrilled with the first snow but all I can think of is it looks cold and wet. But I whistled "Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas" this morning, A stay at home and have soup for supper but might bake some cookies to warm everyones heart.
I have 22 blocks done for the quilt and will work on the rest of the shirts today, I guess there is a football game on but I will be in my sewing room....AND for my reward of doing all my chores I probably will watch a Christmas movie tonight,
Maryz Years ag0 I signed up as a hallmark customer for their rewards program. Every so many purchases you get rewards,,,like a couple of dollars off your purchase, WHen they started having their Christmas open house. they sent their rewards customers a VIP coupon for the gifts I got. So I almost always bought Hallmark cards for birthdays and special occasssions it has always been my go to. for wrapping paper and gift bags too...This comes 2-3 times a year with their catalog. They also send me a birthday card with a discount of 20% off their purchase,,Not all Hallmark stores are the same so check with yours.. But I am also a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, and watch a series each year called "When Calls the Heart" The new episodes come out in January on sunday night,
Ken just came is and requested Sausage and biscuits for breakfast (moving quickly towards brunch here) so I need to get moving,
SO I am off to enjoy my day clean the 2 bathrooms and all other tings I mentions...It will be a good "Lord's" day here,,,hope it is for your too. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The boys won 3 out of 4 games and looked really good...xxx

Good morning, 50 outside but feels colder. Should get to 77. That is a good 10* above average for here. LV will probably top 80. They are 8 - 10 degrees above us.

I went to Henderson by myself yesterday. His friend showed up so he stayed home. Quiltique is down sizing so they are having an inventory reduction sale. I ended up just getting a 2 yd piece of fabric. It's an older one named Shiney Objects. I have matching FQs at home. Looked and looked but just couldn't find anything else that suited me.

Judi my sister always loved the snow. It's rare but does occasionally snow here. During one storm last Winter IS got 6 inches. We used to belong to the Hallmark rewards program but most of ours have closed.

Maryz I will have to check out those pics. If the shop you were in was a full size shop, that was probably Quilted Dragon. The others have all been small.

Chriss wow $75! That's nothing to shake a stick at. I love Bingo too but must sit too close to Maryz cuz I never win either.

Maryq yes I have been here all but 1.5 weeks since leaving your place. I so want to be home and back to my normal life. I am going to tie up some loose ends here and then leave Thursday. Depending on weather. I may come back in January. I also decided yesterday I need to start planning my trip all over again. I will most likely go straight to my sister's, maybe DC with her, then my secret stop, and then MSQC, then home. I want an easier pace next time.

Well no more news here. Prayers for all. God knows your needs. Have a great day everyone

Good morning Girls

Happy Sunday!! Looks like it's going to be a decent day here. No rain or snow in the forecast! I do wish it was a little bit warmer as I was thinking about sneaking out to the garage to do some rearranging but probably won't---high temp today will only be about 32! Guess I'll stay in instead!

Lois.... Gotta love the crock pot--- I feel so efficient when I make a real meal with it--like I'm doing a couple different things at the same time! Come to think of it... I should grab mine and throw in the stuff for some chickie-veggie soup!!! How nice to get a phone call from Melissa's mom--it kind of warms your heart when someone appreciates your beautiful quilt!

Maryz.... Those pictures of the kids are so so so cute! They all look so happy! How fun for Drew and Alec to meet their cousin for the first time! They look like they kind of got the giggles in the picture of them together. And what little one doesn't have fun on a tracker!! Not sure what an alternate plan for Thanksgiving will be. I am kind of liking the idea of spending the day in the sewing room. Since I spent last year with Shawn & family-maybe this year I should hang with Kevin--they always go to Sara's folks (a noisy and raucous event) I don't mind the 4 hour drive if the weather is perfectly clear and did think about going down early--like Tuesday just to hang out with Viv--she needs a sewing buddy these days. But it's all about the weather!

Judi..... When I'm down hanging out in Viv's sewing room----Hallmark movies run constantly!!! I don't get the Hallmark channel (without paying another streaming fee) But can sure get my fill at Viv's house!! Your first snow is what my DEX used to call "Squaw Winter"---when the white man can see his foot prints in the snow. After that melts, then you have Indian Summer. At least that is was he was told by a native American family he grew up with!

Valerie..... I'm so excited/happy for you to be able to head on home! When I'm gone from my home for even a few days, I just want to hug my house when I get home!! It's SO good to be home with your own stuff!!! Even using your own pots/pans and dishes just feels so good!!

Lori..... You are still digging out stuff at your folks house? I don't remember, are you going to keep the house for and bit and then try to sell it later? After cleaning out my folks house after my Dad passed --I can sure appreciate the challenge of digging through boxes you didn't even know were there! We filled the biggest dumpster we could get. Though My Mom kept trying to pull stuff out thinking it could get donated someplace!!! You wouldn't believe the books my Dad had---just about every Time Life series they ever published!

Chriss... Congratulations on your BINGO win!! A few extra bucks cash.... what fun! If I ever (hardly ever) have a handful of cash, I hide it and try to forget I have it---it's always a treat to find it later--especially when I'm wanting to do something extra out of the regular budget. When I did the craft sale last year, I hid the cash---of course it's all gone now!   I've even tried to hide a $20. in my winter jacket before I put it away at summer--thinking it will be a bonus when I haul it out again!

Didn't get a whole lot accomplished yesterday, Viv came over in the afternoon and we sat and yakked until about 5:30--then I took her back to the kids house and stayed for supper and sat and talked until after 10pm!!! She willingly took a stack of my quilts home with her (they are going back to WI this morning) so little by little she will do them for me. Tom helps her a lot get the quilts loaded---he's gotten to be an expert at it!

For now I better get in gear.... a few dishes to wash, then it's that time of the month---- Pay check in....pay check out! Once that's done, I'll be in the sewing room if you need me!

Wishing you all God's blessings today and every day

Good morning!

Beautiful day here. Judi gets the prize for the first snow on the ground. Our mountains get a dusting, but so far none on me, yet. It's coming.

Church is a bit later. It's the Primary program. All the kids have been practicing and learning new songs and speaking parts for this. They all do wonderful, but the best is watching the little 3 year olds, sit up on the stand, wiggle, wave to their parents and a occasional nose pick. They are fun! So I only have two hymns today, the opening and the Sacrament hymn. Then I come and sit in the pews. The Primary chorister does the rest today. Hopefully I won't get trampled when all the kids come up to the choir seats, where I sit, as I come down! πŸ˜€ There's about 75 kids in our Primary.

Yes, when I play in the Batt Cave, it's my JA. Sarah was over last night and we painted ornaments. Boy am I rusty! And even with my glasses on, blind as a bat! I have quite a few spots to fix! Ethan will be over this afternoon to help me get out the Dickens Village. In past times, it's setup took Mr G a week, but now he's very slow, so out it comes. He can putter a little at a time setting it up. It's the lighting he fusses the most with. I only have a dozen or so Village pieces, but each is lit and then there's the street lights, and the gazebo, all the finishing details.

Daniel was here too. He got the roosters hung likitey split. And my big plate rack too. He also made the shelf for my waster and dryer. It's painted with some leftover epoxy paint, it dried, but still was gassing off smell. So it's in the garage for a couple more days. I did get the eyes fixed on my roosters before they got hung. I had forgot the black dot on each. So trying to figure out a easy fix, I thought a black dot of electrical tape might work. Already sticky on one side. Scissor cutting was too hard to get round, so the ah ha light went off - a paper hole punch. Ran the idea past Sarah, she said no, the tape would stretch. So she'd bring over her scrapbooking stuff later. That would be too late. So I tried my idea, it worked! So I got the four dots applied just as Daniel showed up. Perfect timing! Even gt the picture frame glass washed.

Time to scoot,

Hugs,
Jana

Cool, breezy day and tonight we will be close to freezing temps. The heat is on in the house and this afternoon I will turn the heat on in the MH, mostly to keep the bays warm. It won't be cold long enough to freeze the tanks, but the Capt. is happier if it's on. My 3 outdoor plants will go to the garage.

The Sip'n'Stroll was interesting, it's put on by the CCAA, Citizens for Community Action Association. For $10 you got a commemorative glass and a coupon for a pour of wine. I may have scored extra on that because the box wine was low and they put it all in my glass. There were a dozen or more art/craft booths set up down by the edge of the Lake. There was a band but I think they quite early, as I got there at 2:30. I only found one item to buy, a small painting of a hummingbird on a clothes line, done by a local lady. I will hang it in my Cabin.

MaryZ, Thanks for posting the photos, love all of them. Chickie is looking good. We stopped many years ago and met her for lunch someplace close to her house. Sweet lady.

I, too, have a couple loads of laundry and some that needs folding. Hopefully I will get out to the Cabin this afternoon.

Enjoy your day.
Lyn

Good morning from the prodigal quilter. MaryZ keeps at me to check in, so here I am. Thank you for the birthday wishes! I'm much too young to be that darn old! We had a fun time yesterday, and today I'm binding first Christmas quilts for the two babies. Reading on the computer makes my head spin, which is why I don't make it here often. I still have constant dizziness and bouts of incapacitating vertigo. But, it could be worse, so no complaints! Mary keeps me posted, and I enjoy all the news! I do think about you all, and I'll try to get back again. Meanwhile, happy fall, ya' all!

Glad to see you Chickie,
Awoke to snow covered grass and wet streets. After church, very windy and seemed colder but the snow was all gone but more to come tonight. The first snow was neat to be excited over it was fun. Been busy last few days,Friday with the 5 grands and yesterday with the oldest GS and then had to pick up BIL and SIL at 1130pm from airport and get them home. We were home by 1 AM and no snow yet at that time just rain. Still woke up in time for church. Now have lunch in oven and then will get to Mt Washmore. I did not multi task too well this week so laundry is full. Also need to change our bed and put the flannels on.
Hoping to get a handle on laundry and try to sew for our meeting this Thursday. I also have to bind a baby quilt and get it done as it gets delivered around Thanksgiving. Kind of giddy feeling, want to put fireplace on and either hand sew and just enjoy the snow falling and not needing to drive in it. I could do Christmas cards but don't mail of course. Christmas carols would be fun too. So many fun things to think of doing.
Better get to laundry and check on lunch.
Have to scoot. Everyone stay warm safe and sound.
Hugs,
TinaB
