Yesterday was my 10th radiation treatment. YAHOO!!
Joe had a scope for his bladder cancer and unfortunately they found some spots that are questionable at this point. Today they will do a biospy on everything they found. I need as many prayers and thoughts for him. It has been a rough few years here. Hope 2026 will be kinder for a lot of us here.

Good Morning,,Sun is shining again, Managed to get 6 windows done yesterday so making headway need a few cloudy days. I have 16 to go.
Prayers for Diane and her husband said this morning.
Well I finally started cutting the hockey shirts into quilt blocks..Not as many shirt as i thought since he played several seasons with the same team there are duplicates,,,but I did get 2 shirts cut, and the inner facing applied...I may have to buy more inner facing the blocks are going to be about 12 inch for the most part...I have several huge blocks Im trying to figure out....Might make a 20 inch throw pillow with his name and number since that jersey is huge...They are all big to accomadate the hockey padding under them..And a trip to the quilt shop to get hockey fabric for the backing. I am still trying to get ahold of a senior year shirt so his entire carreer will be in this quilt.
Ken is off to the rink this morning again, His big job in Grand Rapids is on hold for a few day while they sort out the details. ($$$) so he has been working on the basement bar and his geezer friends keep calling him so he goes into the rink to help out. ( translation: sit and BS and drink coffee)
My friend will be here at11 to go to brunch and then we may hit the quilt shop and I need to get her started on her t shirt quilt...I am much more confident now that Ive talked to all of you and gathered some very good expert advice...I knew I could count on you. :D
Have a wonderful day, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,

CHRISS - I'm excited about all your new space. You must have removed a double oven to have that much space. First the microwave at optimal height. Then, I like the idea of an appliance garage. Does your microwave need to be vented? A second outlet below is an excellent idea that some day you may be very glad you did. A glass door in the top (the idea of a picture frame is intriguing) with a light inside to shine on your prettiest display pieces would be purrfect. Your gramma's tea set, your favorite ceramic cats, or your cookbooks. And like Lyn mentioned, most places that sell paint and stain can match your present cupboard doors.

LOIS - I'm going to chiropractor today, too. And good luck to your hubby at his appointment, too. We are praying for nothing but good news. And have fun with your Angela Walters classes. I know Chickie uses those rulers with her regular machine and does some exquisite quilting with them. She sends me pictures occasionally.

DIANE - Prayers for your hubby. So sorry they found more spots. It's been a rough couple of years at your house. I'm praying for better times ahead for you both. God bless.

JUDI, I'm glad you've gotten a good start on the tee shirts! When will Liam's senior year shirt be available? Have you tried looking on line for that shirt? The outlet that supplied them should be able to hook you up. The coach might be able to help you get the name of that company, or he may have an extra shirt! For the shirts that are the same team, different years, if the shirts have those years on them, cut them and add them in - surround that tee, perhaps. Don't forget to cut out his name if the shirts have them! As for the big blocks, different size blocks add interest to your quilt. This is where you utilize the smaller logos are perhaps use some hockey themed fabrics to make smaller blocks to make all the "puzzle pieces" fit. Pinwheels, 4P's, etc.

TiNA B - what did your DH teach? And at what level? Some notes might simply be outdated and - don't tell him I said this, please! - of no practical use now. But if math, maybe they would benefit new teachers. Good luck with the purging!

LYN - that is almost spooky about meeting the flooring store friend and she solved your problem! I invited our good friends over for dinner back in 2008. And two days before our old stove simply died. We went to HD, talked to a saleslady, and when we sat at her desk to do the paperwork, I noticed her nameplate had the same last name as our friends. Turns out my dear friend, Esther, was her favorite aunt! So we invited her to dinner, too, as a surprise for Esther. Different scenario as yours but still serendipitous and involved a store lady.

LORI - I'm hoping the laser treatments help your boy. My chiro swears by them. Is it arthritis? a tumor? I've forgotten. I'm sorry. I think you said arthritis.

JANA - You had some great ideas for Chriss!

FLO - you've reminded me that I like to bake cranberry/nut bread, too! Maybe I'll get to that as we get closer to the holidays. Right now my freezer is full. I like to have a few in the freezer for gifts or for company.

MQ - how was the flight???

Yesterday I kind of puttered. I straightened up the top half of my linen closet, and then we went grocery shopping. After that, I simply sat and read a book for a while. Then L&L suggested we go out for Mexican dinner. We were able to get on board with that! Oh - and I finished cutting out my table runner. It's called Alpine Drive and is from a booklet called Trendy Tables 3 by Anka's Treasures. I hope to start sewing on it today. I have chiropractor this morning at 9 and LuLu will be here from about 10 to 3. And I have 3 loads of laundry to do. We were planning a trip to Costco but I'm thinking that will have to wait another day. I've had to wait for my turn with my washer/dryer. Autumn did laundry two days, then Lara. Both girls love my very simple, very basic 33 yr old Maytags. Both urged me to never get rid of them. And I never will unless forced.

I hope your day is blessed!

Ok, well this is crazy long post and it's all gone.

We are both doing okay. Counting days till I go home.

Cellular service has been running slow. Hard to get anything done on my phone.

Short synopsis of Tony. No home health agency will come out here. They are supposed to set up video visits. Haven't heard when though. Hopefully soon.

Well off to find breakfast and maybe more coffee. Have a great day.

Good morning Girls

Oh what a lovely day!!! I can tell that 50th years ago---the weather was almost exactly the same as today! How do I remember that? Well, 50 years ago this evening, I went to the hospital to give birth to my son Shawn. It had been 60* something all day and when I left for the hospital, I needed no coat or jacket and wore sandals! We got to the hospital about 10:30 and he was born at 3:28am The next day we got a huge snowstorm---gotta love Minnesota!

Lois..... Is the ruler class you are taking for those rulers that are kind of like different designs you can use with your Gracie setup? KC left behind a set of those--I have NO idea why she had them, as she only had little Brother sewing machines. I gave them to Viv hoping that she would be able to use them with her long arm. How fun would those be tho, do put different fun designs on your quilts.

Diane...... YEAH you did it!!!! TEN treatments done!!! How many do you have to do? Will keep all the good thoughts and prayers for Joe that the spots turn out to be nothing!!!

Judi..... Do you happen to have a pressing cloth? Or sometimes and extra piece of fabric helps when you are ironing down the interfacing. I think I messed up a shirt or two when the iron hit the wording on those shirts--the kind of plasticy stuff. You sure have a big project ahead of you!

Maryz... The flight was FUN!! I didn't realize how tiny the plane was! We were in the air for only about an hour or so but it was fun to see my old house and my new place from the air. Bill wished we could have gone up while the leaves were still pretty. Maybe next year! Some of those old machines are the best. Maybe I should have kept the d/w that came with my house instead of upgrading to the stupid one that lasted 3 years!!  It certainly is a small world isn't it! Turns out Peggy across the driveway from me, graduated from same High School as me.. and tomorrow is HER son's 50th birthday too!

Valerie.... I hope you get to go home soon, I'm sure Dave is missing having you around too! Tony does have someone that can come check on him pretty often doesn't he?

Lyn... Yup, LD error message means "Load" Sometimes, if I am washing a load of towels, they will shift and end up all on one side of the tub, so I have to go in and rearrange them. Most of the new machines can kind of automatically adjust, but probably not heavy wet towels. Because I'm usually close to the laundry room as I putter around, I can hear when something is off. Glad you got it figured out and best thing yet... you made a new friend!

Chriss... First thing I thought of when I saw the picture of the opening--Cookbooks! But others had some great ideas too, I especially like the idea of glass cupboard doors, though that might take a bit more work--it would keep the dust off what ever you decide. Are you going to paint behind there? Or how about some of that peel and stick wall paper? Yeh, check the venting on your micro wave and just leave enough space all the way around it--but I'm sure Dad knows what he's doing!! Can't wait to see it all done!

Jana... It was election day here too yesterday, but only for a school bond issue--which seem to come around every year! I voted yes.... even tho it will make my property taxes go up--our area is growing so fast and our buildings need updating and we need more teachers!!! I just hope they spend the money wisely---next time they ask for it, I might not be so willing!! Our district is like #5 best in the whole state of Minnesota!

Lori.... Oh gosh, I hope the laser treatments help Jack... Poor baby. SO sad when our buddies don't feel good. Some days I really miss having a dog---somedays not so much. That's why I just go borrow Zara from time to time!

Accomplished absolutely nothing yesterday. Made a mad dash to Dollar Tree for a few little craft items, voted , then came home and took a nap--which I haven't done in MONTHS! Need to clean up said craft messes this morning and wash up a few dishes. No real plan for the day. Kevin and Corinne are coming over later on this afternoon, I hope to get Kevin to help with a ladder project. Other than that... I think I'll see what trouble I can get into in the sewing room!

Wishing you all a sunny happy day!

🎈Happy Birthday MaryQ 🎈
May it be the start of a wonderful year.
I remember we celebrated your birthday at the Houston Quilt Show, a few years back.

Prayers for all the needs listed this morning.

Washed the sheets and machine behaved itself yesterday. We voted and then drove around and checked out the 5 parks the Village owns. Found out on Saturday, at one park, there's a Sip & Stroll event going on. I think I will check it out.

I have some jogging pants that need to be returned, they're 4 inches shorter than the other pants the Capt wears. So, I will make a run to Marble Falls today.

Need to get my face on and head to town. Hope everyone has a good day.
Lyn

MARY Q - Happy Birthday! I know Nov 5 is your birthday, but I was thinking today was Nov 4! A plane ride like you had is a great way to celebrate your birthday! How cool to be able to buzz your houses! What kind of plane were you in? My brother's plane had a seat in front for the pilot and a seat in back of him for a single passenger. I hope the rest of your birthday is as fabulous as yesterday!

VAL - sorry you lost your post. Sometimes my little finger hits something and it all goes POOF! I think it happens if my finger hits two keys at once. Just not sure which keys! Sorry Tony is out of range of home health. I hope they get the tele-visits arranged and that he is able to manage it.

LYN - oh, a sip and stroll sounds pretty nice!! I'm in! Also, the Georgetown Stroll at Christmas time is well worth the drive. We did that about 8 years ago. I hope Covid didn't take that event down.

I've got laundry going, my Christmas quilts distributed throughout the house, and my more delicate ornaments on the tree now. All early, but why not!

Later!

Good morning!

A warm beautiful day here now, later this afternoon, Maryz sent a storm to me, so it will rain, maybe snow. The wind in front of the weather front is blowing fiercely now. No leaves will be left hanging on the trees. And they will hopefully blow away into someone else's yard! :)

My friend just called and she's sick and doesn't want to share with me. I'm good with that! So we'll try again next week. It's a introductory lesson on how to start quilting. Gives me time to make a sample block, log cabin and figure the yardage. A small quilt, no king-size to start with!

Crenda was here yesterday and my house is looking so good. She does a wonderful job, getting where I can't reach!

Well, yesterday was a day where I shouldn't be let loose! Made my grocery lists, went to the first store, Mr G too. He's extremely slow and totally forgot his wallet, phone, etc. At least I made sure he was dressed! LOL! So he followed me with a cart to carry some bottled water. We gathered that and the rest of my list. Went and paid, with my debit card, then they helped out to the car with the groceries. This store is very helpful. Then over to Costco. I needed my Costco card out to get in the store. Opened my wallet, got that card out and my debit card was not in its proper place. Panic City! Went through every pocket, nook and cranny in my purse. Not there! Called the grocery store, told them the exact check stand, no they didn't have it. More panic! Double checked the car. Nope. Then Sarah called and was at the Michael's craft store, right next door to the grocery store. She had Ethan with her. So they retraced my steps exactly, I told her every move I made. And my eagle eyed Ethan found it! What a relief! Still the whole incident shook me, but hopefully I'm over it today. And I will be very deliberate on putting back away. I still need to finish the last grocery store trip today. I can see God's hand in my life, even in the small silly things. Nothing is small or silly to Him.

Daniel got my shelf cut and has some special paint, black, not a favorite, but will take it. Better than having stuff fall behind the washer dryer and causing a fire. Daniel was able to hang the atomic clockin place too. I did get that clock to recognize our time zone, Mountain , not Pacific. Even changed the battery, so we're good now. Some days I have few smarts..

Well, time to get my act together and accomplish something.

Hugs,
Jana
