Happy Sunday morning.
Well time change is good and bad. I slept well and was up at 603 so came down to play with fabric. Not so bad. Will be busy with stuff this week, so maybe I can start my day with fabric fondling so I won't feel so frayed around the edges by the end of the day. Will give it a try. I have seen most times I am up with the daylight not the alarm. Time will tell, no pun intended.
Have to get showered and off to church. Really getting into the purging it has messed the house up but we are finally facing stuff head on, hence why I am so frayed around the edges. Watched the Baseball game last night and tried to hand stitch, sadly neither worked well, the game turnout and my stitching, really went badly. To the Dodgers credit that one Yahamota pitcher is awesome.
Well, this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad. Have a blessed Sunday, stay safe and well, and continued prayers for all in need.
Blessings, and hugs,
TinaB

Good sunny and cool Sunday to all.
I'm 7 down on radiation. No problems from it and I thank everyone who have given me support. I and Joe keep our little quilt piece with the cross from Tina always with us. So small but so relaxing as a reminder that we are never alone on our journeys.

Today I hope to put flannels on the beds and get "winter ready". Switching out the tees and short sleeve for flannels and sweat shirts. BRR!! just saying it makes me cold. LOL. I think beef stew for dinner will help keep me warm.
I hope everyone can enjoy the day.

Morning
Usually I don't do well with time change, but this time not too bad.
Lusa was great at Halloween. Usually she can say trick or treat, but this year she had it down! When a neighbor was taking pics of all the set ups, Lisa held up her balloon dog and said "cheese nice and clear.
Today is church, then not sure what else. Maybe bake oatmeal cookies.

Good morning,

Did everyone remember to change their clocks?

I was halfway through my post yesterday when we lost power. We were having a rain/wind storm and a tree fell over a transformer that feeds us and about 11,000 of our closest friends. So we sat in the dark, lit by a few small battery lanterns, and passed the time for about 4 hours. By the time the power came back on, it was chaos around here. Amara and her daddy were up and in full swing! I think he is noisier and more active than she is!

JUDI - groceries, hockey, binding, plus usual stuff. You will be a busy Judi! How was the wedding? Was there dancing? And do you dance? The quilting part of your brain has probably already turned to the t-shirt quilt. How many shirts will you be dealing with for this quilt?

TINA B - You had 'only' 40 T/Ters? We had none. Again. Though our old T/Ters were present! Now aged 32 and 28. Our 2 grandsons. And they ate a lot more than a candy bar! To be honest, we forgot all about it being Halloween as we were busy here celebrating Christmas! I hope more progress is being made in the Great Purge of '25.

LORI - loved your progress/congress comment. So true! My sister and I also leave things around after visiting. We were both at our brother's in Alaska several years ago. He HATES spiders. So of course, we got a package of spiders, big and small, and left them all over the house for him to find. Did you watch the game last night? While not particular fans of either team - or baseball in general, for that matter - we were disappointed that the Dodgers won. It looked like the Jays had it in the bag until the 8th or 9th inning.

CHRISS - it's fun to plan, but after the surgery you just had, it's best to keep most of your plans in the planning stage. Your body is still healing and will be for many months. Hear and obey it - sleep late, rest often, take naps. Keep the chores on the light side. I was only 46 when I had my hystie. And it took me 8 full months before I was feeling my full strength again. Plan your renovations, and hit it hard come spring! Glad you found the file cabinet you wanted and had help loading and unloading it.

LYN - Not sure if I should be glad or sad that you found no treasures at the big sale, but maybe you did - maybe the neighbors that you met will turn out to be treasures. Foxy is also starting to hit the arms of our new furniture and we've added covers to my chair to see of they help. I have a special fleece blankey just for him when he's on my lap and I try to cover the arms with the blankey because he is a fierce kneader. If that helps, then I'll make more covers. I have 14 arms in all to cover between upstairs and downstairs.

MQ - Sometimes the chores get to me (especially these days) but once I get going on them and hit my stride I actually kind of enjoy them. I turn on my audio book and "read" and whistle while I work. Kidding. I can't whistle. Do you plan your flamingo to be a Christmas gift for your DB? Will Viv know that? Just a thought - as expensive as postage is, it's still cheaper than driving all the way to her house to pick it up in time if they or you aren't planning a trip to visit before Christmas.

JANA - so, let me guess - you will be spending today changing all your clocks! We have 8 clocks and 3 of them set themselves. I set two of them yesterday when I reset after our power outage.

LOIS - how is your foot feeling? Did you start PT yet? Sorry your day got started so early. Maybe a wee nap will happen?

FLO - I saw your photo on FB. You did such a great job and it look like it was all so fun! And it must have warmed your heart to see your DGD really get into the spirit!

VAL - glad to hear of Tony's improvements. He is lucky to have a home health nurse as his personal caregiver!

DIANE - glad to hear you are doing so well with your radiation treatments! And those little cross quilts are the best when the going gets tough! Mine goes with me everywhere I go.

Yesterday was all dark until noon because of our power outage. I tried to read and then work on CW's by lantern light. That really didn't work. But eventually our little Scabooch appeared on the scene and life got lively again! Later in the day, we did tractor rides but couldn't hang outside too much because of the wind - too dangerous because of falling limbs. So we played out of the toy box most of the afternoon. And watched Bluey until the episodes started repeating themselves. Then we switched to Peppa the Pig. All the while, building block houses, snuggling stuffies, and playing with cars. It was a busy day! Finally got that vegetarian lasagna out of the freezer. Lara cooked some hot buttered noodles separately because she is allergic to tomatoes. We made a huge salad and used up all our fresh salad veggies. Tonite will be leftovers with a sheet of roasted mixed veggies - carrots, broccoli, brussels sprouts.

Not sure what the day's plan, but I'm sure it's going to involve the tractor, raking leaves (not me!) and taking more pictures. The Texas kids planned to leave tomorrow, but now, maybe Tuesday. They aren't sure. We will miss them, but also, it will be nice to be just ourselves once again.

I hope your day will be as fun as ours is going to be!

For the 2nd time: yep wrong button again.

Good morning, I didn't get to any of my plans yesterday so I will work on those today. I will add dusting as it's very obviously dusty once the sun shines in.

Tony learned a few lessons yesterday. The walk he decided to go on was way too long and I knew it was going to be. Luckily, his seat has a Walker, so he was able to sit down and rest for about 5 minutes so we could make it the rest of the way home. He also doesn't check the colostomy bag and sure enough, it broke yesterday. So he had a mess to clean up. I'm trying not to do things so much for him so he will be able to do it by the time I go home.

Maryz wind and trees are definitely a concern. I do know a young man who was killed that way. He was ten at the time. They had gone to a birthday party, but it was a little girl's birthday party so him and his friend took off across the field. A limb came off of a redwood tree and hit him in the head. It was really quite sad. My friend and I had worked with his dad.So we both went to the funeral together.

I too was a bit disappointed with the dodgers win. I have a girlfriend from canada. We were rooting for Toronto. I wish they could have held it together throughout the game. But it's just a baseball game and whoever wins or loses doesn't affect my life at all.

Well, still on my phone until I make it back to California which will be on the thirteenth. I will see how things go and decide if i'm going to come back soon or if i'm going to give it a month or two. I was hoping to get in some open sew days between now and the end of the year but none scheduled so far for november. I will keep checking.

Hope all is well with everything and can't wait till I get back home on my laptop. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning!

Yes, we are in clock changing mode. I made a suggestion yesterday to Mr G about starting the clock ordeal, by doing the Grandfather clock and the ship's bells. They are difficult because you can't go backwards. So you use the stop and wait method. He looked at and and listened and did what I suggested! So they are done and a few others too. My brain keeps thinking it's later, but that will adjust.

Church is later this morning. Music is easy too. Just need to decide on what dress to wear.

Aaron and Gracie came over yesterday afternoon. Gracie was trying to exert her naughtiness at home, so Aaron brought her over to me for some help Grandma time. Her attitude changed quickly. Gracie and I went out and I taught her about tulips and daffodils and how to plant them. Gracie learned to use the drill and auger, even though she only had the use of one hand - the other is 8n the cast, broken. Gracie quickly planted 75 more bulbs for me. Happy as a lark! These were the last of what I had. Monday I'll check if Costco has more. My planting bed still has room. Ethan will be thrilled that he doesn't have to plant more! Difference between boys and girls, Gracie loved planting! I need to clean the front flower boxes, as the frost end the fall mums blooms, they look very pathetic at the moment. A bag or two of dirt and more bulbs in them. Bulbs are a huge thing here in Utah.

Time to get going,
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Happy Regular time day!! Is that a thing!? Haven't changed any of my clocks but will throughout the day. There's a clock in just about every room here, except the bathrooms! Plus, the stove, the microwave and the coffee pot!!! I didn't change the one by my bed last night because when I woke up at 8 this morning, it was a treat to realize it was only 7 and I could go back to sleep for a little while longer.

Judi.... Your first T shirt quilt? I've done 2, never again. The trick is to use the right interfacing--which I can't remember now... and to cut as big of pieces out of each shirt that you can. You can always trim later. The first one I made was actually out a little boys clothes and that was the worst as everything was a different size. You can use the back of the t-shirt for pieces to make sashings if you need to, so don't throw those away just yet!

Tinab..... It is over whelming sometimes to look around and see all the stuff we accumulate over time. Just take it one bite at a time, you'll get there. I was in my 5 bedroom house for almost 36 years, so you can imagine what I had to do to downsize to a 2 bedroom townhouse!! The only thing I would NOT give up was my fabric stash---I hate that it's in the garage, but at least it won't "rot" out there!!

Diane,... So glad to hear that your treatments are going well! You do flannel sheets in South Carolina? COLD??? Oh honey, you ain't cold until it hits below zero!!! It's going to be about 52 here today, I'm betting there will be a few folks out in shorts!!

Lois.... Oh gosh.... you're the Crab today!! Every once in a while, a person just has to be crabby and enjoy it! It keeps the other crazy people away from you. My Mom used to call that
"Nature's birth control" --no spouse wants to get near you when you're crabby!! Before menopause---there were certain times of the month that were particularly bad--hence no "fun" then!

Flo.... A while back, I bought a can of oatmeal, thinking "oh I'll make some cookies for the kids" before they went off to college, never did!! They will home for Thanksgiving, maybe I'll back some them.

Maryz.... Was wondering where you were yesterday. No power for 4 hours? Makes you kind of wonder what would happen if there was a long drawn out power outage---with everything being on computers these days. And I never really want to bake until the power is out! Can't sew, so lets make cookies! DUH!! Nah, the Flamingo quilt isn't a Christmas present, so there's no hurry. Viv likes to do quilts, but I just hate asking her. I don't ever want to be "taking advantage" of her kindness. I'll let her decide what she wants to do for me as her times permits.

Valerie.... Tony is home? I'm guessing dealing with all the ostomy supplies etc has quite a learning curve, and likely he won't make the same mistakes twice. Do they think this a permanent situation for him. Does he have someone that can check on him regularly when you go home? Home health nurse?

Jana...How old is Gracie? Full on cast now? There's just something about kids and grandparents.... a whole different kind of connection and different bond than between parents. I only had one grandmother growing up and have great memories of spending time at her house--her little one bedroom apartment. Look at it this way... you made some great memories for her yesterday.

Chriss.... Did you get any work done on your files? A long time ago I had a big 4 drawer cabinet and I gave it away... Now I kind of wish I still had it.! I have a little cabinet in my bedroom closet and for the life of me I don't know what papers are still in there---only thing I know for sure is my divorce papers and my will!

Lori... Funny story about leaving things behind. Evie did that at Viv's house---left about 100 little tiny yellow rubber duckies all over her house and sewing room!! Her sewing room is actually not IN her house, but across a little deck as it lines up across the back of their mammoth garage. It's HUGE, so you can imagine how many duckies there were!!

Managed to get all the chores done yesterday, so since I'm showered and dressed I think I'm going to run to Target for a few groceries, it's getting pretty bare here so I think I'll go while the weather is nice. When I get home I have a couple options for sewing projects so I'll flip a coin to see what I actually do!

Wishing you all of God's blessings today and always!

Good morning. It's going to be another beautiful day today, when I am done here I will open the house up.

It's All Souls Day. They have a candlelight walk from the town square in Hornitos to the cemetery. It's usually at night with candles but because of the fire dangers they are starting at 4pm which really defeats the reasoning behind a candlelight walk in the dark. I will have my flashlight in my purse incase it gets dark, but I really don't think it will, I'm sort of disappointed that they are having it earlier than usual.

I want to thank everyone. Yesterday I complained about sleeping in too late and you all came to the rescue and moved your clocks back an hour to accommodate me. You are stellar friends.

The parents came up yesterday and dad and I, mostly dad, removed the wall oven. My job consisted mostly of getting tools and holding the light. I've been of great service to my dad in my life, all just by holding the light. He kept removing pieces from the wall oven to make it lighter, I'd take those pieces to the trash can area. He got the heavier parts and it is now gone and there is an open hole to stick my microwave in after some shelves are built.

Today the plan is to clean the bathrooms. And get my file cabinet filled and the room that it's in in order. Kind of have a messy desk right now, but tht will be filed away so that 30 years from now my kids can go through it and wonder why I saved it all.

Lori, how about them Dodgers? I thought about you when I bought that file cabinet. When Marilyn was younger we had a little plastic bug that we would leave for eachother to find. It was a lot of fun. What games did you play? It's hard to realize that my body needs rest when I feel as good as I feel.

Judi, I also need to get a few groceries, almost out of peanut butter. Hope the game goes well. That t-shirt quilt will be treasured.

Tina, when I was purging the excess stuff here all of my rooms were a disater. Messes everywhere. I moved things from one room to another changing things up. Hauling so much stuff to the thrift store, but now I am finally almost done. I would love for the kids to come get their things, someday, and then this house will be completely me. It feels so good to get rid of the clutter. Hope DH enjoys his 12 pieces of candy, will he eat it all in one day or spread it out.

Diane, woo hoo, you are moving right along with those treatments, glad they are going well for you.

Lois, I'm also a crab when I don't get enough sleep. Hope you get a nap in or at least a good nights sleep tonight.

Flo, seems like Lisa is getting more verbal, yay. Mmmmm, oatmeal, can you put some butterscotch chips in mine please?

Maryz, Ugh, no power. We bought a generator to use when the power goes out but it's so much work to haul it out and put gas in it and on and on. Besides, I don't even know how it works. I have a portable battery on a dolly that I can plug a fan into and charge my phone. Who needs Disney Land, you have tractor rides. what fun it must be to be Amara. If you remove the distributor cap on their car they will have to stay longer.

Valerie, Smart idea to let Tony handle things. Amazing what a person can do when they live alone. On one hand you wish you had a helper and on the other hand you realize all you actually can do by yourself without any input from anyone. Sort of satisfying. Hope you get to stay home for a while when you get there.

Jana, hope you found the perfect dress. Did you seethe movie about the girl who's closet had a lot of bridesmaids dresses, that's how i picutre you picking out the perfect dress. Sounds like Gracie needed some busy work and it was grandma to the rescue.

Maryq, I hope you find all your groceries in one stop. Cute about Evie and leaving the duckies. Did Viv leave them where she found them, I bet they made her smile. I also had a 4 drawer metal file cabinet that I got rid of. It was too big. And, like you, I have my files in my closet in a storage thingy. I will move everything over and will still have room in this cabinet. I have a fireproof very small safe that has my will and a few other things in it. But stupidly I have the key in the keyhole, so if there was a fire the key would likely not survive rendering the safe useless.

time for breakfast. not sure what that will be yet but afterwards it's a shower and chores.

you girls have a fab day
Chriss
