Morning
Tuesday, friend came over with a machine she bought at thrift store. It wouldn't zig zag. Couldn't get it to do that either, that's probably why it was in thrift shop. So i let her use mine, and mine was being difficult with zig zag too. Spent yesterday checking timing on mine. Timing ok. I have been using same weight thread and same size needle for so long that was problem. I use standard 50 weight thread, she brought over all cotton 30 weight thread. So changing to denim needle with upper tension on -3, surprise all os well. She is making reusable paper towels out of flannel. So one day next week we will have an un-sewing day with what was made Tues.
Today we are having 13 people for bbq including DDIL & DGD. 7 adults, 6 kids I may need to use the big wine glass tonight!

Good morning FLo Wow you are a busy gal. I thought I was busy all the time but you are a tornado of activity at your house.
irish If I met a husband that actually listened to his wife I'd faint, There is a T-shirt out there that says "My wife say I don't listen to her...At least I think that's what she said" Dinner with the kids was great,,I dont mind washing windows but I have 37 upstairs and 5 in the basement,,,that is a job,
Lori It took 3 tries to get this quilt centered and right on the backing and frame...It is finally ready to quilt. It was a nightmare and after pinning it and unpinning it I was done and call it the cursed quilt. Maybe I am getting old and rusty,
Maryz TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!! Cant wait to see photos of your A team visit..How long will they be staying?,
Yesterday it rained and sun and then rain some so Other than wtesting with this quilt I didnt get any more windows done but I will get the other 6 done up here today as it is cloudy,
Ken is still gone..He meets with the engineers today to see what else has to be done...He is working on phase 2 ( that doesnt mean much to me) except phase 1 is having problems and they need Ken to look at that too. Hopefully he will be home tomorrow or saturday but making no promises. I miss him but he loves these jobs,,I think after this year of consulting and problem solving he might just go back to the rink and retire from all these big adventures, They will take him back in a minute, the other company he worked for also said he could come back too...but this might have been the last big job,
Well the sun as come out and I had high hopes,,,but I see it shining throught the dirty windows again, there are a lot of clouds out there so I will get at these windows today, maybe later in the afternoon.
everyone have a great day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good wonderful morning!
Today's the day! I never thought they would come visit - at least not this year, yet here they come! Can't wait! I just can't wait! But in the meantime - I'm grateful to be here with all y'all!
IRISH - Poor Baby Kitty. Aren't cats supposed to be self-cleaning? Though, come to think of it, Foxy gets sap on his rump from laying under the salal brush which grows thick - under the birdfeeder. He can't clean the sap out of his coat. I eventually have to cut it out. So, are you going south for a visit? Did you go last year? And your poor sis. She really should get some kind of bulk rate from her orthopedic surgeons! I got two shots in different parts of my lumbar region, 10 days apart. My back was feeling better by the time I got home! But it will probably last for only a few months. Dr says he'll order more shots if I need them while I'm getting my hips done. I don't like GETTING them, but I do like HAVING them. Does that make sense?
LYN - It's good to be home again, isn't it? And not have to be planning to pull up stakes again for a long while. That's interesting about the cancer ratios and the vaccines. I wonder what other factors were considered like locales, other physical issues, diet, etc. This whole Covid thing - if we only knew then what we know now I think a lot of things might have been done differently.
CHRISS - glad to hear a school still saying the pledge! It's shameful that so many don't. What everyone else said - your recovery has been amazing. I hope you think so, too. You will make your goal of 18 min mile soon. And your kitchen is almost done! I know it would be nice to have the sink usable, but soon, I'm sure. Dad probably just has to get new pipes underneath to fit the deeper sink. And you are right - it is, indeed, good to be me. And I never forget it. But it's good to be you, too!
DIANE - sending prayers and good vibes your way as you undergo radiation and Joe goes through his BCG treatments. I hope PT can help you loosen up those lymph node areas. Are you able to do any sewing?
JANA - I hope your stuff arrived yesterday! Otherwise, I'm guess we'll be dropping the honey from your voice?
Have fun with your termite!
JUDI - have you got your quilt loaded now? And all is well? How long will it take you to quilt it? Will you do your binding by hand or machine?
FLO - glad you figured out the problem with the zig zag on your machine. I save my frogging for TV work in the evenings - if I have a lot of it.
JUDI - Well, Ken is adding a mysterious quality to himself - kind of interesting, like when you were dating. The mystery is - will he be home tonite with his dirty laundry or not?
I don't mind washing windows at all. But I just can't get TO the windows! I have to crawl up on Bill's big desk or my big sewing table. or squeeze behind the big TV, or crawl into the kitchen sink (deep garden window). Or use tall ladder to reach the living room transom windows. There just aren't enough Wheaties to work up strength for most of my windows!
Yesterday was LuLu Day. That girl can clean this house top to bottom, until it all sparkles, in just 5 hours. I don't know how she does it. Today is A-Team day! They are only about 4 hours away! I expect them early afternoon. I can't wait! We have Christmas presents for Amara but I think we'll just let one appear under the tree every morning for her to open, rather than overwhelm her with them all on whatever day we have the Christmas portion of our Hallowthanksmas celebration. We'll decorate our Christmas tree soon. Right now all we have is the lights as it's a pre-lit tree. Pop's got the tractor ready for rides (if the rain lets up), and the trailer is stocked with snacks and drinks. I think we're ready!
Until they get here - Bill has 3 short errands (mail, Rx, milk & bread) to run this morning and he has the sheets in the washer so he needs to make our bed. I plan to maybe put the second border on KTVC. Supper tonite will be whatever we decide. I have vegetarian lasagna and mac & cheese in the freezer or we can do something different - pizza or tomato soup or??
Wishing you all could have as good a day as I'm going to have!

Good morning Girls
Such a pretty view out my window this morning! Sunshine and pretty colored leaves! I'm just afraid it isn't going to last much longer.
Flo... Thanks so much for the morning chuckle this morning! May I suggest a travel size coffee mug for your wine tonight? Glad you were able to get the sewing machine fixed up. So frustrating when things don't work right.
Judi.... Oh you are so right that men don't listen! And have you noticed that they can stand in front of the fridge looking for the ketchup that's right in front of them and not be able to find it? Or you have to tell them "it's in the door, on the lower shelf, far to the right, next to the mustard which is in the yellow bottle that sits upside down" Sorry your quilt has given you such problems!!! Viv uses red snappers on her LA and I've seen her try to wrestle a quilt --having to take off those snapper and replace is not a fun job!!
Maryz.... I'm just so darn excited for you today! Last year when Jen came home, I think I paced around the house all day waiting for them to get here!!! You are going to have so much fun with Amara and oh what wonderful memories you will make. I hope you take lots of fun pictures. Can I borrow Lulu? Actually, I would just like someone to wash the floors--I can do everything else. It's been tempting to call somebody and see what they would charge for just that! Maybe the gal that does Katie's place next door!
Lois... What kind of batting do you use? I just ordered 2 bolts of batting---Pellon 80/20 from Walmart yesterday---delivered free---$46/bolt. which comes to about $5./yd. while I LOVE Warm and Natural.... this stuff is good enough for the quilts I make---especially since I give/donate most of them. I usually send one or two bolts down to Viv for her to do my quilts. She's coming up here the weekend of Nov 6--- for my Son Shawn's birthday (eek, he'll be 50!)
Diane....When you get your radiation treatments, do you have to lay there "nekked"? I saw a thing on Youtube about making little privacy covers, that just cover the girls so you don't feel so exposed! I would gladly make you one!
Chriss... You can hear the kids say the Pledge in the morning? When my windows are open I can hear the bells ring during the day and the kids playing out on the field at recess. You are really rocking that Cardio Rehab!! Hope your dad can get your sink hooked up soon!
Lyn.... As soon as I figure things out, I'll post some info about a card exchange in the SWAPS spot! Good luck with your insurance. Yours will be a little different I'm sure since you have through United. I figured mine out, but my poor neighbor Connie (92) had the same company I had---which is going away. I tried to help her a little, but she gets confused and forgetful. Her daughter will eventually help me. I have a real love/hate relationship with health insurance--have been in health care for 30+ years!!

Because my DB & SIL live outside the metro area here in MN, their available plans are very different, and Carol hasn't been able to find one that covers her current medical team!!!
Irish.... THANK YOU too for the chuckle about Walmart ! I avoid them as much as possible--As soon as the build the new Costco near me, I'm going to cancel my Sam's card too! I only go to WM here because they are the only place within a decent distance that carries any kind of craft supply!!!
Lori... How old is Jack? Does he feel better after his meds? Don't you just kind of want to snuggle with him when he's hurting.
Well, it's a HAPPY day here!!! I'm finally getting my new dishwasher installed! I was going to wait until the new countertops were ready, thinking it would be easier to do it all at once, but since I'm looking at mid November for the countertops, I though I better get the DW out of theg garage. Maybe not a great place to keep it now that it's getting so cold. Was only 32* when I got up this morning. Plumbers will be on their way soon, better make sure the kitchen is clear!
Wishing you all a Happy Thursday!!!

Good morning.
Cloudy and a bit of rain. This little storm was over Chriss yesterday and snuck its way in here. Thanks for that!
Yes, the meters showed up yesterday, after just one call. I was told a time frame for arrival, but that passed and I gave them extra minutes before I was going call again and the package finally arrived, about 2 hours longer than they said. We are back in business. And of course, the darn meter took forever to settle in, but seems to have finally done that.
It just wasn't my day! My washer and dryer need to sit out from the wall, slightly to accommodate the metal venting for my gas dryer. Enough space for things to fall behind them. I am extremely careful not to let that happen. Been vigilant for 14 years. I have suggested numerous times that I need a shelf, that sits right across the back of the washer and dryer, just to make sure nothing gets down there. It's a possible fire hazard for that vent. Not listened too and finally, somehow, I managed to bump and drop my bottle of laundry soap behind them! And of course it fell upside down, but at least the cap was screwed on tight. So first thought, wiggle the washer out to reach the bottle. Nope, not happening. The dryer is lighter, but basically fixed in place because of the vent. So next 0lan, climb 9n top of washer, and reach to get bottle, nope, Mr G has short arms and bottle just out of reach and stuck between wall and back of washer. OK, I have a tall grandson, Ethan, with gorilla length arms, so Sarah brought him down to try. Nope, needs a bit of finesse to turn the bottle right side up without getting the bottle stuck underneath the washer, so Sarah climbed on the washer, she's short, but has my long arm length, and finagled a wire coat hangar, shaped into a hook and retrieved the errant bottle of laundry soap. So next week, when she's back, she's building my long needed shelf. She's practiced at that shelf, as she already built one for her laundry room because of the same issues.
Time to scoot, Ethan's braces are off and indeed to go get him. He's a very happy camper and wants a bag of cornuts on the way home.
Hugs,
Jana

I slept in and gee it felt good. But, I just got done looking at the weather and I need to get moving on mowing. The lawn guy did most of the front a couple weeks ago and said he was going to be back the next day but it's a foot deep in mostly weeds and a little grass. There's storms heading this way and it's already cloudy. I can't unload into the Sewing Cabin until the mowing is done because weeds are higher than my steps.
I will come back and read later.
I hope everyone has a great day. MaryZ, extra hugs for Amara from all her Aunties here.

Flo, glad you figured out it was the thread. When I have problems it's usually the thread or needle. I check both along with a few other things. You have a big group coming for dinner.
Maryz, climbing might not be advisable. Glad you decided not too. I think I need a house keeper to pick up the slack. How exciting to have the A team at your house. I bet Amara is just a little jabber box now. Share pictures if you can.
Lyn, hope you got those weeds knocked down and can get to the sewing cabin.
Jana, we have a space behind the washer dryer too. I can move them out and get behind there if need. We do have built in cabinets about them so not much fall back there.
Maryq, enjoy your pretty before it all goes away. Jack still limping. I took him and Wrigley for a short walk. That seems to keep him happy. Then I walked up the street instead of driving. I'm missing my walks and it's starting to affect my waistline.
Judi, I bet being away from home is hard on Ken. I'm sure he misses you. I haven't been a ball of fire getting the windows done, but there are a few that really need to be washed. I might get to them this week.
Valerie, safe travels home today.
Chriss, what are you up to today?
Jack and Wrigley took me for a short walk. Jack and I went too far yesterday and he was hurting when we got back. I put an ice pack on his leg and that helped a bit. We finished the stupid round puzzle last night. There are 3 spaces and the pieces we have don't fit. Apparently we put a few pieces in the wrong place. I'm not going to try and figure it out. This puzzle will be going in the trash. I'll pull out another one since Bill really like doing them. I need to run the vacuum and dust a bit today.
Have a great day.

Back -
Got the termite and he has a beautiful smile! He helped muckle 2 queen size mattress toppers for me. One is now under the trundle, as it's staying , the other is a inexpensive one that we are cutting up to make cushions for Sarah's RV and chairs pads for Mr G. Slowly getting the room back in usable order.
So not only am I taking care of a termite, we are in charge of the chickens, the three cats, and a pond full of koi. Quite a zoo! Ethan knows how, I am just the transportation.
Later,
Jana

Good afternoon. Here I come, bringing up the rear.
Ask me who now has a working sink in her kitchen. Yep, the kitchen is functional. My dad is the best. And while he was working I took Judy to get her hair done. Afterwards we had some stew that I had cooking in the crock pot and the parents took some home for their dinner tonight. I kept enough for my dinner and there will be no need to put it in the freezer.
This morning I had my echo, the tech said if I hadn't mentioned I had a valve replaced she would have never known. She showed me how my valves are opening and closing like they should and I'm sure the report will be good.
Came home, had brunch and started working slowly around here. The last load is in the washer and when I put it in the dryer I am going to head into town and get Moose a brand new non stinky dog bed. I took his old bed apart so I could wash it and it was just too gross for my fuzzy baby.
Lyn, someday I would like to do a marathon but a walking one. I am not ever going to be a runner. But wow, a 15 minute mile is amazing. Glad you made it home safely.
Lori, I hope to get the dog hair vacuumed before I go to bed tonight. It's pretty thick and likes to gather behind doors and under my bed. I did get my dusting done. I don't want Jack to have a sore leg. Sure wish we could just put Ben Gay on their stiff joints. I haven't bought furniture because I don't want to shell out the same 5K my friend did. They will haul away her old stuff and it includes our out of the way delivery fee. I could buy cheaper furniture, but I want it to last. I need flooring before furniture, but furniture is a very close second. Sorry the puzzle was a dud, the next one will be better.
O'Dorothy, you have stinkers for friends, bragging about how warm they are. I still say I am coming back as your cat in my next life.
Flo, I haven't bbq'd in a long time. It's a lot of work for one person. I have a Webber and charcoal and fluid, but it seems so much easier for me to use the broiler.
Judi, I likethat t-shirt. I hope Ken is showing someone how to do what he does. Just like traditions, if you dont show the next generation everything will be lost.
Maryz, hey, I know the kids are there but would you like to chat on the phone for a few hours? ha ha. I bet you are in your glory. There could be natural disasters all around you and the corners of your mouth will be touching your ears in full smile. High five girlfriend, I am so happy for you. You and Amara could make a blanket tent and she could spend the night, just a thought.
Lois, glad Minecraft is finished. that seems to have gone quickly.
Maryq, yay for the new dishwasher. Nice to have it in and usable. If I have the windows open I can hear the kids say the pledge. I guess I don't always hear all of the words, but I know it. They line up outside at the school which is across the street from me. But if the tv is on or the windows are closed I don't hear them.
Jana, you sure know how to get things done, although it seems to happen quite slowly sometimes. Smart thinking knocking that laundry soap bottle behind the dryer so you could finally get your shelf. Ihaven't had corn nuts in years. Have your kids seen the new Chosen Adventures on Amazon Prime? It's really cute. And it's not just for little kids, I liked it too.
I will call my friend and see if she wants to go into town for a dog bed. Can't have my precious pooch sleeping on the floor like a park bench wino. No siree, he will have a new bed tonight.
You all have a fabulous day,
Chriss
