Good morning I was up wide awake at 530. So I took the dirty laundry down to the laundry room ( No I can wait another day) Got all the stuff out to make cookies, ( butter and eggs to turn to room temp) had coffee and toast. watched the sunrise and now I am here to check in on all of you...I will stitch on the quilt, I have the last border to piece and sew,,,Perhaps I can get it done soon,
News is that Ken might be home for a week due to rain and waiting for the next phase of the job to begin, He thought he'd have to stay but all the machines are outside and rain is predicted for next week and they are not ready for him yet,,,Just as i was getting used to the single life...it changes,,,but in a good way, Ken likes being home and he also likes the job. I like having him here too...
Hope you have changes in your life in a good way too...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,

It's only 40* this morning. a few more degrees and it could snow!

LORI - we turned away from the game, too. It was awful! I think we went to Family Feud. Maybe tonite's game will be different.

JANA - I would think that chair would seem scary until you get used to it. Do you belt in or does it have a bar at the back so you don't tip backwards? I remembered of how my mom's cousins solved their problem of the aunt who was always late - they simply told her appointments and dates were an hour earlier than they really were. After that she was always on time. I will miss Aaron's stories but wouldn't you think he would be safer in his new career than in law enforcement? Why is Mom worried?

CHRISS - I hope Dad got the sink installed for you. And no one pulls their dishwashers out to clean! Don't stress the mess. Though I really have no excuse about under the stove. I could pull out the drawer under the oven and clean the floor that way, I just never think of it. When I make my stew I put it in the crockpot and let it cook all day. (but I do brown whatever meat I'm using first). Makes the house smell so good. Leftovers can freeze for another day.

VAL - Poor Tony. I guess we better step up the prayers for him. I'm wondering if the IV nurse got a line in. And how is the pneumonia? Is respiratory therapy doing treatments? Most rehab places I've known don't deal with IV's so he'd have to be done with them before being admitted there.

JUDI - How was the birthday party? My DGS turned 32 Oct 13. No party though. His parents took him to dinner and included their own best friends. I hope you can get your quilt finished today. But then I won't have a KTVC buddy! I still have some sections to sew and then put the sections together. And THEN borders. I think we have 3 borders, don't we? I keep forgetting to look through my backing stash. I do know how I want it quilted though. I haven't told Mr. Bill yet that he will have a quilt to quilt. It's better if I wait a bit. He likes surprises. :D It will be nice to have Ken back home for a week.

LYN - glad you checked the weather and are waiting a day. We've traveled that route in wind before and it was a nasty drive. And stayed near Lamar - I think in the same small RV park you have stayed in before. Can't recall the name right now, but RV's are parked kind of funky - end to end rather than side by side. And it has a kind of western theme and a small little park/firepit area at the entrance,

Mary Q - I don't recall any recipes for 505 spray. Spray starch, but no 505. Sorry. What are you working on today?

LOIS - I hope all goes well with your machine!

It was a busy day yesterday. My PCP ordered an increase in my pain meds and a dexascan. Then in the afternoon we went to see the PA for the hip surgeon. She did a Range of Motion assessment, and told me the next step is to meet the surgeon. So now I have another appointment Oct 31st. After that, a physical exam, blood work, EKG, CT scan of hips, and a dental exam. If I pass all that then I will be put on the surgery schedule.

Today I'm on my own. Bill is going back to Olympia to help out our friends. This will probably be the last time. So I will probably do some sewing and some reading. Bill will be back in time for us to go watch our friend, Susie, put on a show at a senior facility about 3/4 mile from our house. Think gorilla gram or belly gram only she does an old lady gram. Dresses up like an old lady and roasts the guest of honor. We've never seen her show before so it should be fun. Supper tonite will be chili and cornbread.

Have a great day! Do something you enjoy!

About 57 here this morning. Yesterday after water exercises I was cold most of the day. Even put an extra blanket on my side of the bed but slept the best I have slept in weeks, so I am thankful. No sewing today, errands to do maybe some embroidery on a table runner that’s just been out of sight so not it’s not getting done. Hopefully will get floor space to measure some backing fabric to see that it matches the tops I made during COVID and want to get out of house.Hoping DH will keep purging idea front and center so we can do a bit each day . Time goes by so quickly and so much to get done.
I always sew on kitchen table and use family room floor for design wall then squirrel away when holidays come.
This weekend up to see 5 little and bring twins birthday gifts they will be 8 and that time has flown by so quickly.
Such scary times for our world today.
Prayers for Tony caregiver Val, Michael, Jana MaryQ MaryZ, Judy and Chriss Also prayers for all in need th at t I can’t remember. I am so happy for you all,
Blessings,
TinaB

Good morning!

Rained most of the night, but the sun 8s out now. But we're cold! 39!

The new chair lifts have some many safety features, it's unreal! That thing beeps for every thing! The chair does have back. It's just my brain conditioning about falling down stairs. Sarah will finish adding a new outlet this weekend. Stu will help.

Speaking of Stu, his broken elbow is healed and the Dr took him out of the sling and is sending him to PT , to return use to normal.

Aaron, - I became used to law enforcement, as he has been doing that for almost 20 years. He is well trained and has what we call, hinky sense, he sees and feels things that most people miss. I worry that the tech industry is flaky, company starts up and then goes out of business. I'm very use to stable companies. That's mom h8nky sense.

Not many uglies today. Then a ride down to the Batt Cave! I started yesterday, bagging each fabric for the new Kimberbell quilt.

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning

No sunshine here this morning, another dreary day!

Lois.... Is this the first time you are going to play with your Fixed Up Machine? Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Judi.... Good news that Ken will be coming home for a little while anyway. Do you have any projects that you can have him do while he is home? Anything you can add to his Honey Do List?

Maryz.... Somewhere I saw a video on how to make your own basting spray, but at the time it seemed like a lot of work! I love the 505 spray but it's like $20 a can!!! When I do my own quilts it really helps keep things where there are supposed to be---and I do pin a lot! SO glad you were finally able to see somebody that you LIKE about the hips!! Still amazes me that it takes so darn long to get anything done! I'm sure you will pass all those tests!!

Lori.... I usually get 505 on Amazon too, and I have some in my cart. I did try an alternative brand--can't remember which, and it worked pretty well too. I just wonder why that stuff is so stinking expensive!!! Do tell, what is Shasiko Mending? Is that where you put your mending in a pile and when you finally get around to doing it--it doesn't even fit?

Chriss.... Did you get everything back the way you want it? I do love an uncluttered counter top, and would leave everything off if I could, but alas I need the coffee maker, the canister of coffee, the coffee bean grinder, the air fryer and mini blender close by for almost daily use. Maybe I'll rethink some of that once my new counter comes!

Valerie.... Was thinking of Tony yesterday as I was puttsing round the house. Hope he is improving every day, tho the pneumonia is a bit of a worry. Perhaps they will pump him full of ABX and he'll recover quickly.

Tinab... Am off to run errands this morning too, too bad we can't meet for coffee along the way. I'm headed over to the kids house to check on the puppy, then to Walgreens. When I get home, I hope to hit the sewing room, but from the look of things around here, I should probably haul out the vacuum cleaner!

Lyn... Are you ready to hit the road? I go through a lot of Best Press too. I picked up 4 bottles for Valerie, and forgot to give it to her when she was here! I'm stocked up for a while!

The sooner I run those errands, the sooner I can get back to sewing machine!

Wishing you all a wonderful Thursday!

Took advantage and slept in a little. Next several days will be up early and moving.

Lois, Hope the machine works perfectly now.

MaryZ, The campground in Lamar is Sundance High Plains RV. You described it well. There's a bear by the office door and a dinosaur somewhere out front.

Judi, Darn, single didn't last long. I'm sure you will be happy to have Ken home for a few days.

Jana, I bet you will be enjoying that new chair and traveling up and down stairs more.

MaryQ, I am ready to get home to Texas.

Today I will clean the house some and do a load of laundry. I didn't get the cards made, so will do that and take them to the Post office. I have to find a charger plug for the Vita Feet that were finally delivered yesterday. They note to only use a certain voltage plug. So, a run to Dollar General is on the list, too. Dinner will probably be a pick up from one of the restaurants in town or a stop at the grocery store for frozen. I'm not cooking, I cleaned the gas cooktop, which is a pain in the you know what, and I'm not going to dirty it up.

Prayers for your needs. Hope y'all have a good day.
Lyn

Maryq, Sashiko mending is using Sashiko stitches to mend things. I'm going to give it a try on some jeans I have. She had lots of good information. This is the teacher website if you want to see what she does. https://wrenbirdarts.com/blogs/embroide ... -eggenburg I've used other brands of spray baste and didn't find one I liked. They were too sticky and gummed up the needle too much. If the quilts small enough I will pin it. I buy 6 large cans from Amazon and they're just under $15.00 a can. Still expensive.

Lyn, Bill usually cleans our stove and it's not that hard since it's a glass top. The one we had in Illinois, was a pain. I bet you are looking forward to using you sewing shed.

Jana, hope Aaron does well in his new job and like it. Most people that work in law enforcement have a hard time doing other things. I did it for 30 years and I have that funny sense of knowing when things aren't right.

Maryz, awful is an understatement. We turned it off and watched Jeopardy. I checked the score later and was glad we didn't watch. Sounds like you are on the road to getting those hips fixed up. You'll be dancing in no time. Enjoy your quiet day. How Mr. Scottie?

Judi, I was thinking about making cookies today as well. Now that the weather has cooled off I don't mind turning on the oven.

Lois, your snowman is really cute. Have fun with the machine today. Hope it runs like a dream.

Jack seems a little better today. We did a short walk and he was happy. We started him on Dasaquin which is glucosamine/chondroitin for dogs. It's work for our other dogs in the past. I have my Mammo today. Might do a little embroidery. It was fun to sit and stitch yesterday. I might work on another cabinet here at my house. Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs. The herbs in my garden are very happy right now, so I'll use them.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning. It's going to be a great day, I just know it.

The parents will be here dad is still playing in my kitchen. At 84 he doesn't move as fast as he used to move. But it will get done. Judy stops him quite often to ask if she can help. I took her for a ride yesterday and kept her away for about an hour. We take the same ride every time and she says she's never been on this road every time. So, for her, every outing is a new adventure.

I really need to go grocery shopping but want to do it by myself. Judy will want to go but follows me around the store and makes me feel rushed. I'd also like to go look at microwaves, but it seems that won't be happening today.

Valerie, thanks for the vein info. Hope you found the perfect rehab for Tony. I've been drinking a lot of water lately and can't wait for my kitchen to be in working order, bologna sandwiches are getting old.

Jana, that chair would take time to get used to, but I bet it will be wonderful to have once you get used to sitting down with your back to the stairs. Is there a bar to help pull you out of the chair on both ends? Hope Aaron loves his new job, and that it turns out to be a good one. Did he retire from the PD?

Lori, I have also had a hard time getting rid of some things, that is why Marilyn has a lot of her grandpa's stuff in totes waiting for her. I'm glad that you are able to take your time with going through things. Rushing makes it more difficult. Glad Jack is doing better. enjoy that spaghetti,

Lois, I saw your snowman, it's really nice, I love him. Those thread catchers are convenient. enjoy the play date with your machine.

Judi, I read your post and went and filled my coffee cup so we could have coffee together. Glad Ken got rained out. What kind of cookies are you baking?

Maryz, Sounds like things are moving forward for you. I'm so glad. Hope all of the testing pushes you in the best direction and you get fixed completely. Dad did get the sink installed and will hook up the plumbing today. He wanted to get a new garbage disposal first. I had a dream last night that someone was pouring bowls of chicken noodle soup down the garbage disposal that isn't there, thankfully I woke up before I saw the mess.

Tina, I bet the 8 year old party will be fun. They squeal when opening presents at that age. And there is the cake, that's always a reason to attend. Hope the purging comes to an end and there is nothing more to get rid of soon.

Maryq, dad isn't done yet so I don't have my kitchen together yet. I don't even have my stove put back because he still needs to put in the range hood. I'm so hoping that it happens soon, but am also so grateful for his help that I am not complaining. My coffee maker is in it's place and I am thankful for that. I was told about 3 to 4 weeks for my counters and it sure seemed like it was taking forever until I looked at my calendar and realized it hadn't been that long.

Lyn, Glad the park keeps the bear and dinosaur separated. Hope you find your charger. I also cleaned up my gas stove yesterday. Dad had it covered but it was still dusty.

Not quite sure what time the parents will be here so I had best get dressed and eat something. I have no bread so itwon't be a bologna sandwich. I really need to go grocery shopping, perhaps when the parents leave, No clue what dinner will be, hoping I can find something wonderful at the store that can be cooked in my air fryer oven thingy.

You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Chriss, I wish I could go microwave shopping with you. Are you looking for a countertop type or didn't you have a tall cabinet that you could install one there? I have a different brand in each location, so don't have a recommendation on one. But, I will tell you the features I really like. My KitchenAid here has a button called Ultima Cook, that has a special metal 'crisper' pan that is used on that setting. I use it to reheat pizza mostly, but it has a long list and a code for each food. I have a similar setting on the MH micro. I also really like the cook by food type button, but this one is older and doesn't have that, the MH does and I'll be honest, I'm not sure of the one at the Texas house. Happy shopping.

Lori, Thanks for that link on Shashiko mending. I haven't worked on my Shashiko project since Canada. I will be really happy to get to my Sewing Cabin and get it organized and get back to sewing.

Break time over, back at it.
Lyn
