Good morning it is clear and cool going to 70 today. Leaves are turning and falling but still a lot of green out there, Slept good last night stayed up til 10 so I would be extra tired. Worked a little on the quilt, One border almost finished, 2 to go.
Got a lot of kitchen work done,,I cleaned all the glass on my cabinets,,,and cleaned the microwave, I have the oven on my list too,,,I need new kitchen gloves for that job, It has a sort of steam clean setting which does nothing,,, if I ever buy another stove I will shop a bit more carefully this one was inexpensive and I found out quickly you get that you pay for... Ken wants me to junk this one and get a new stove but Im a bit too practical for tht,,,I will wait til something goes wrong with it,,,
Ken is doing well his first day he has a nice hotel room with a full sized fridge and a microwave and a coffee pot, He will buy already made this week but when he comes home I will fill a cooler with my homemade stuff for him to take,
Well I need to get moving here My sister and my friend will be here in an hour to go Christmas shopping,,I have a list of all the ornaments I buy for the grands, and might get a cup of coffee down before they come...Have a wonderful day,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Morning,
Judi, when we moved here, house was set up for electric stove. I wouldn't deal with that! Joe ran a propane line to house, bought cheap stove off Facebook & outfitted it for propane. It took alot to keep that stove clean. Now that I got my new stove 6 months ago, I still go nuts keeping it clean! My advice, get the new stove and enjoy it.
I am enjoying finding recipes on the internet, but I am also writing them down. I couldn't remember my tweaks with the sourdough pizza crust, so now that is written down and no longer saved to my phone.
Today we may go visiting friends.

Good morning!

Been up for awhile. Mr G's Dr appointment is up in SLC, and it's at 8 am. Getting him up and dressed for anything that early is a huge hassle. He won't change any part of his routine! And then his way of protesting is being extra slow. Even though he knows we had no choice n appointment time. Ugggh! And we got a long and noisy thunderstorm at 3 in the morning! I need to go back to bed and then find the right side of the bed and get up all over again, in a better mood!

The day is mine. Grumpy is gone for all day. This appointment is about 10 hours of testing. I need to clean my stairs before the installers come for the stair lift. That's tomorrow.

See ya later,
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning,

It was one of those nights - up/down/up/down. But I am here. Finally.

JUDI - glad Ken has a nice place. Does it have a sitting area, too? You are a good wife to make him homemade microwave meals to take back next week. Have a super fun time at Frankenmuth today! You know I'm green with envy. Christmas shops rank right up there with quilt and thrift shops for me! The party sounds nice. Sometimes it's really hard to surprise people, though I pulled it off for Bill's 50th. And you got to snuggle a new baby!! And a new baby named Josie!!! Such a sweet name!

FLO - I'm glad you have the stove you want. Nothing worse than living life with an appliance you hate. I prefer cooking with gas but have had electric nearly all my life. And it's fine. It would cost us too many thousands of our favorite dollars to bring gas down our road. And I do love the electric stove we have - a GE Adora, 17 yrs old. I pray it never gives up the ghost.

LYN - Will you be going to A.P at all this winter or did you just cancel the first part of your rezzie. You are probably getting excited to get back to your TX house. I'm excited for you. But I doubt you're looking forward to manhandling that big RV steering wheel until your abdomen is feeling a little better. Since you're not going through Kansas, will you go down '25' to '10'?

TINA B - You have 3 sisters? Any brothers? I only have 2 sisters. I got short changed! But I have 3 brothers, though 2 of them are angel brothers now. I am the fifth of our six.

JANA - Enjoy your day alone. But I suspect Sarah isn't looking forward to HER day, She deserves and extra hug! Is Ethan happy to make the move to the other school? It's hard for kids to change mid-year. And yes, how is Sandee doing these days? Did her brother and sister ever move in with her? And if so, how is that going? Happy that your chair lift is on its way. My friend, Susie, has one and always uses it. They have a long staircase, no turns. Oh, and I love the name James. Zion James flows nicely.

LORI - goodness, your day WAS busy with all those uglies!! You deserved to go to dance class! But if you missed the last part of the baseball game, you missed the best part!

VAL - you can take the nurse out of nursing but you can't take nursing out of the nurse! You gave a pretty good report there! I was thinking I was back at shift change again! I'm bummed that the nurse withheld the pain med. Glad the residents were on top of that. And I'm happy to hear there was air in his ostomy bag! Will they transfuse him again, do you think? Good news that it sounds like the relief society will help him out once he's home, stable, and you leave. I suppose he's too far out in the dingleberries for Meals on Wheels, even if they are in the area . . .

MARY Q - you've got a lot going on! But best of all - another new baby quilt! They are coming pretty thick and fast in your family. Though you've got a ways to go to beat Chickie - she has had 13 great-grands born into her family in the last 5 years. She struggles a lot with everything, living with constant vertigo since a series of strokes several years ago, but has managed a new baby quilt, a first Christmas quilt, and a first birthday quilt for all of them so far. As for Cathedral Windows, I like them because they make great TV work in the evenings. Also good "road work", while traveling, though that didn't turn out for me this year. Plus, they've always been a mystery to me - and I wanted to solve that mystery. But they aren't everyone's cuppa tea!

CHRISS - How did your dr appts go yesterday? Any surprises?? You must be their gold star patient by now! And today is countertop day! We're going to want photos - before and after!

LOIS - Glad you got that Posh Snowman figured out. I hate when the problem turns out to be operator error. I didn't know you were doing another Sew Kind of Wonderful pattern. Do you have both Mr. and Mrs. Santa? They have lots of patterns available now.

I don't even remember what I did yesterday. I did make a nice supper. We have leftover Panko chicken, mashed potatoes, white gravy, & brussels sprouts for tonite. Today I think, because I have all day long, I will make a big crockpot of white chili for freezer meals. And also, a freezer meal for our Olympia friends with the two bad legs. Bill is going back down there on Thursday to help them out. So he can take a Chicken pot pie, and the chili. I know, and they are very grateful for meals. It's hard for her to cook, propped up with a walker! Hopefully, they will both be off their crutches and walker soon.

Today we're going to put up the 6' fake Christmas tree we borrowed from Grandson, Drew. It's early, but the A-Team is on their way and we'll be celebrating all the holidays while they are here. Aut sent a photo of them at 9pm last night setting up their tent - in the rain near Amarillo - with their camp neighbor holding a lantern for Antonio. And Amara standing by watching, not seeming to mind the rain a bit. They are on their way to Denver first for a library conference, then on to here. They arrive in just 9 days! I keep thinking of things to do to toddler-proof this house. After 40 years we're pretty well settled in! Oh, I'll also wash some toys we have from when my kids were little. Cars, blocks, etc. Making up a little toy box.

In sewing news, I have KTVC Section #3 (of 7) up on my flannel board. All the sections need some background pieces cut, so I cut them all while I was cutting. Today I will sew that section together and get Section #4 put up on my board. I think I may need to cut back on the CW's. My hands are so achy and numb from stitching, plus my neck muscles feel strained. But I listen to my audio book while I stitch and I happen to have a very good book going right now! It's hard to put the stitching down.

That's all the news from here that's fit to print.

Looks to be a nice day, warming up to mid 60's on the Mtn.

Jana, I know how difficult a hubby can be to get up and moving. I bet you will enjoy the new lift. Be careful cleaning the steps, we don't want you having an accident.

MaryZ, I'm not concerned about driving the MH, it has Comfort steer. It's a reostat switch that Newmar developed, that goes from 1 to 5. 1 makes the steering so easy that you can turn the steering wheel with 1 finger. As you increase the steering tightens up, which is good in windy weather. I usually set it at 2-3, but a few times up to almost 4 because of wind. As for our route, I take roads east then drop down to I-70, avoiding going through Denver. Then take Hwy 287 into Amarillo. We plan to stop and visit the family we met in Wellington, TX, so we'll take I-40 over to Hwy 83, then south to Abilene. Then Hwy 84 to Hwy 283 to Hwy 71 and then our Ranch Road 2233 to the house.

I'm going to load up my plants and take them to the MH as I head into Denver to see Stacey. I best get moving. Hope y'all have a good day.

Good Morning Girls

Tis a little on the dreary side here this morning, if the sun was shining I'd go out and take a picture of my beautiful oak tree with its bright red leaves! If I can get a good picture before the leaves before they fall, I'll share!

Judi....You must be going to get your period! That was always the clue for me--if I got super ambitious and did all that kind of housework, my period would follow. BUT since my hyster in 2004, I rarely, if ever get that kind of ambition. Are you a gas stove or Electric gal? Our first house was gas, but then we moved to all electric house- all baseboard heat with very high bills! So I've been electric ever since. If that stove/oven drive you nuts, I'd say--with all the baking you do--you deserve a new stove! I just hope it wouldn't sit in the garage for 3 months like my dishwasher! Hope they find a nice place for Ken to stay--a few days in a hotel might be fine, but it sure gets old. Is this an on going job or short term?

Flo.... You are a Sour Dough bread gal too? I haven't tried it yet, but my DB Greg is really into and watches all sorts of Youtubes on it. I think stoves are a pretty personal thing--you get used to one kind-gas or electric and you gotta stick with it.

Jana... Hope all goes well with Mr. G's appointment this morning. 8am is pretty darn early!

Maryz... Sounds like Christmas is coming early to your house! Do you have some Christmas music to play while you set up the tree? They are tent camping? So brave! Especially in the rain! Close as I can count, my parents would have 25 Great Grands. I'm not holding out much hope for my own GREATS! I just hope I live long enough! Niece Brianna isn't going to do a gender reveal, so I'll have to find a neutral quilt to make. I'm sure I can come up with something. I made a quilt with jungle animals for Marlee--who is now 12.

Lyn... Sounds like you are getting ready to hit the road! I'll be thinking of you and might get out my map to follow along. I'm always curious about the routes you guys take as you go. It's fun to follow your journey--I live vicariously through you guys with RV's and Motorhomes. Was always a dream of mine to do that when we retired. I just didn't plan on being single at this point!

Chriss. Happy Countertop Day!!! Will it take a couple days to get it all done? The guy that came and measured mine, said he is the one that will be installing and thought he could get it all done in one day, but then I have a smaller space than yours. Did you put new floor down already--(my memory is shot!)

Valerie.... Did the nurse really NOT have an order for pain med or did she just tell Tony that? I can't imagine a nurse fibbing like that, but seriously.... I thought keeping pain under control was a number one priority. I pray every day gets better for Tony. Any idea how long they will keep him? Peeing and pooping is always a good sign!

Lori.... You must be going to get your period too, that you are so ambitious to do all the cleaning!! Today would actually be a good day to wash outside windows. Hmm... maybe I should pursue that idea!

But first..... I definitely have to go get groceries. It's pretty bare here, I have chicken and meat in the freezer, but no veggies or fruit. I'm thinking I need to bulk up on more protein as I seem to be losing more hair! Soon I will be bald and have to check Amazon for a wigs!!
One of my sweet neighbors is here power washing my back patio. It faces north and gets so little sunshine that mold and moss seem to love growing there. He wants no money for it, but I think a package of cookies and a gift card at the bait store (he loves to fish) might just cover it!

Time to fly... refill the coffee cup and get ready to roll!

Wishing you an awesome day

Good morning. It's a very soggy day out there but a very dry day inside the house. Windows won't be opened today.

I'm waiting on the countertop installer. GPS always takes people to the next driveway, the one I used to share with grandma. But I'm a big girl now and have my own driveway. I tell people where I am and it never fails, they don't listen and go to grandma's old driveway. UGH. Hey, they are here, went past my driveway and made a U turn, woo hoo. Moose is less than thrilled that people are in his house but his bark has slowed to a growl.

My doctor appointments went well yesterday. I decided I won't do a mamo or have any vaccines this year. Time to give this body a break. My bloodwork is all in the range it needs to be in. My cardiologist was pretty glad to see I was in such good shape and other than a daily aspirin on no meds. He scheduled an echo and will establish a new baseline for me.

Maryq, boy those pregnant women in your family are lining up and having babies. Great way to start the next generation. I couldn't tell you the last baby shower I went to. My kids registered at Amazon and didn't have one. I often don't think about dinner till it's time for dinner. Then is't usually a sandwich or salad, kind of boring.

Judi, happy Christmas shopping, it sounds like a fun place to be. And have fun purging those closets, uninterrupted. wooo hoo. My last stove was a "you get what you pay for" stove. My new one also has a steam clean feature but I probably won't ever use it. My goal in a stove was that it not have anything like air fry or convection. I also don't do the amount of cooking and baking that you do. I am going to find an Elliott Grandma ornament, it's my plan to get him one every year.

Valerie, will the sister also provide care when you go home. Glad the med stuff is straightened out. It can be frustrating.

Lori, I never thought to empty the dog bed and actually wash it. I have vacuumed it but might take a laundromat day and let their machines havthe excess hair, good idea. I really didn't have a lot to empty in the kitchen, I had already purged once. This will be my second purge, Some of this stuff will go into totes for Marilyn.

Jana, online schools will be so much better than dealing with the smells in school for Ethan. Those middle school girls all have different perfumes, he will do better without the smelly stuff. Sorry about Mr. Grumpy. Dementia is just brutal on both the person who has it and the caregiver. Glad you will have a day to yourself. It's nice to have breaks here and there.

Flo, I also cook with propane and love it. When you get that pizza crust perfected be sure and invite us all to dinner.

Maryz, wow, only 9 days to prepare. That sure went quick. Will Amara get to help you decorate the tree? Nice that you made meals for your friends. Nice to have something for dinner that is heat and eat.

Lyn, nice steering feature. makes for an easier less tiring drive.

Maryq, every so often I have a protein drink. I buy the OWYN (only what you need) It's got no sugar or weird stuff. I did have floors put in but, the person who did them did an awful job, they look fine but have flaws, very unprofessional. So I complained and got my money back. So dad and I are calling it my free floor. Someday I will have to replace it along with all the other flooring in the house, but not today.

There are two countertop people here, one is sort of showing the other the ropes. They are still unscrewing the old tops. Sounds like I have a lot of screws and nails holding the old top down, They will have a full work day.

Dinner, who knows. If I was smart I would travel to Washington and get some of that chili but I ain't too smart.

You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Judi, happy shopping day. I have a glass top gas range and it's easy to clean, but it's old and the ceramic grates are starting to show wear. We've had it 27 years. Still looks good for it's age.

Mary, I missed the game. I thought is was on

Jana, that's an early appointment. I like to keep my routine in the morning, so if I need to go somewhere I just make sure I get up early enough. Glad Ethan will not have to deal with the smells.

Flo, I bet your pizza crust is yummy.

Lyn, Amarillo is where we got hit with a tornado while driving home from Illinois back in 2004. I had $6,500 in damages to the body of my Tahoe. It was quite crazy.

Chriss, I have a big washer so I can do them at home. Once you take all the inserts out they are really not that big. I have a very keen sense of smell and need to wash dog smell out. I remember you purged things last year. I still need to do more.

Maryq, that must be it. lol My window washing paid off, it's raining. Good thing I only did one outside. Cookies are always a good trade.

Late drive thru tonight.
Busy day hauling stuff un needed stuff to church for rummage sale. Spent morning playing with sewing machine decorative stitches. Bought some variegated thread to practice making labels. I made and quilted my first quilt on my domestic machine and am giving it to a friend of my daughter who is 41 and found out in late June she was pregnant. Little baby girl safely arrived Monday. 13 year old girl and boy twins are fighting over who can hold her.
They came around after she arrived.
Talking about energy I would get busy before kids were born back then called “nesting”.
Youngest child is 40 that urge been gone long time.
I am eldest of 5 .
All four of us girls have Ann as middle name then my brother 8 years younger than me. My Dad would say Tina Ann, K. Ann, J. Ann, W. Ann, W my brother with a smile.
I am 75 1/2 brother and youngest sister 15 months apart, she is 68 and he is 67.
Cubs lost to Brewers. Can Seattle beat Brewers or Dodgers, don’t know who to cheer for.
Not much else now. A sewing friend told me she’s fraying at the edges and needs to sew. I feel like I’m fraying too. Hard on DH to part with his Moms stuff but it’s long over due. Says he will continue going through stuff time will tell. Keeping fingers crossed.
Got to go do dinner dishes. Salad and chicken simple late supper. Over hour ago.
Hopefully sewing soon.
Praises to all who accomplish sew much and prayers to all in need.
Hugs
