Good morning,

Yesterday I got my machine back but it was late in the afternoon so will open the box up today.
My foot is sore today and it was sore yesterday so I think when I get dressed I'm going to put my brace on.
I didn't go upstairs as planned so that will be today
Yesterday fabric warehouse had a sale and I got 6 yards for 21.79 good buy.

So later I will go upstairs and clean up my mess give my frame a good cleaning then it will be time to bring my machine back upstairs

For now I'm watching TV and drinking coffee.
Dinner will be stuffed shells and meatballs.

I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all in need.
Lois

Good morning, Everyone!

LOIS - glad the machine made it home safely. All in all, it wasn't gone too long, Stuffed shells and meatballs sounds like a top shelf supper to me!

TINA B - lots of upheaval at your house. Sorry you've lost that room for so long. I have to admit, after the first five years, I'd probably have started sneaking things out one at a time. But finally, hopefully, the room will be cleared out! If it's any consolation, we have a friend whose mother died in 1989. In Florida. They went back, cleared out her house, and dragged all her stuff here to WA. She moved it all into her husbands' garage workshop. So husband built a 24x36 foot shop about 10 miles away and moved all his woodworking tools there. Then in 2005 the wife's uncle died - in Detroit. And she brought all HIS stuff back and filled up the new shop. And there all this stuff sits. The husband gave up woodworking which had big tools, saws, etc, and took up a new hobby, leather working, that used only a small corner of his shop. You don't want to ask what their home looks like.

CHRISS - So what did Dad do yesterday at your house? Was Judi able to help unload cabinets? I bet you can't wait until Tuesday!

LORI - you bet we watched that baseball game - clear to the sweet end. We also nearly gave up and went to bed several times. Today we have Seahawks at 10am and Mariners at 5pm. Not going to get much done today! I hope your Cubbies win. I think they are playing the Brewers who were originally the Seattle Pilots for 1 year back before the Mariners came into existence.

VAL - I hope Tony is able to adjust to the colostomy. My dad was an old time logger who adjusted to a permanent tracheostomy and two of my brothers learned to live with nephrostomies. But it was hard. It sounds like Tony's ostomy might not be permanent, though?

LYN - good to hear you are starting to heal. But I bet you will be all kinds of colorful before you're done! Embrace the rainbow!

MQ - so happy your machine is back so quickly, and so cheaply! So do you have to clean/oil it periodically or does it have to go to The Guy for that? I know I oil my Bernie every 5 bobbins. I clean it with those little cleaning sticks whenever it needs it. Sounds like you hit the jackpot on fabric at HL. I rarely shopped at Hobby Lobby (though I loved their store!) because it was in Tacoma but it closed after only about 8 yrs. But isn't' their fabric always "on sale" at 30% off? And you are off to another baby shower? Lots of newbies n your family! Sweet!

JANA - well south isn't the direction we wanted Mr. G's appointment to go! Prayers for him. I know you will keep us posted. We are all family here! And a family dinner sounds like just what all y'all need! Not to mention it sounds delicious so far! And best of all, it won't be at your house! When I was really young, I thought the World Series was when the Yankees and the Dodgers played their games. Because that's who was always in the series! Daddy always rooted for the Yankees and Mom cheered on the Dodgers. There were no Mariners back in those days.

FLO - I hope you are always able to feel your friend close to you. I swear I can smell your bread from here! Best smell ever - homemade bread! I make notes in all my cookbooks and on my recipe cards, too. My cooking history is in my main Betty Crocker Cookbook.

JUDI - Did Ken finish his honey-do's yesterday? Because there's a whole lot of bonus hours between 10p and 6a that he's probably not too busy . . . I know you are going to Saginaw to surprise your DB for his birthday. Drive safely and enjoy the party! Happy Birthday to him!

Yesterday morning started out great! I felt pretty good so I decided to make chicken pot pies for us and for our friends who we've (mostly Bill) have been helping. My recipe makes 2 pies, suitable for freezing, but I got 3. So we have two for our freezer. But making those pies, especially the crusts, and then the clean-up just about did me in. I was so glad the kids brought us supper. I'm still paying for doing too much yesterday. But once you start something like those pies, you can't just quit in the middle of it all. You have to see it through. Today we'll be watching football and later baseball. I'll be working on my CW's.

Lee & Lara are leaving Wed for two weeks so while we had Lee's muscle available, they guys moved all the old furniture that we're getting rid of out to the shop. The house is looking kind of bare. If any company stops by this week they are going to have to bring their own chairs! The new stuff doesn't arrive until Oct 21st. And if it gets delayed (that would never happen, would it??) Little Ms Boots is going to have a lot of play room! We learned Bill's great-nephew is moving out and needs starter furniture. Have we got a deal for him!!

Supper is going to be spaghetti. I have sauce in the freezer and noodles and salad aren't difficult. So it will be a simple meal.

Group cyber hug to all!

Morning all
Wrsig, a neighbor here has a permanent colostomy bag & it hasn't stopped him. He is a small rancher with a radio service.
Yesterday I made muffins and today is homemade pizza for supper. Tonight I will dice up leftover French bread and put together a breakfast casserole for tomorrow.
I'm getting back into my baking groove between new stove and cooler weather.
Chriss, for years I refused to make a mark in my cookbooks thinking it was wrong. But I am making so many tweaks on recipes I wanted the tweaks to pass down.
Flo

Good morning We are sluggs this morning doing nothing, I was reading back posts here and looking for the book that came with the carpet shampooer, I only have my sewing room and bedroom of very old carpet So I think I will shampoos them . My son will be here to move furniture for me. So I may or may not get too the last leg of the quilt this week. I will also start the fall shut down of the windows...While putting up the new blinds in the dining room yesterday I realized how dirty those windows got...We had such a dry summer that there was a ton of dust then it rained on the dust,,,yucky window were the results...so that will be this week...I need to keep busy and can work later in the day..(It also keeps me from missing the big guy)
Maryq we are twins here ,,,I just made about a dozen g-tube covers for Gracie and just need to put the little tabs of velcro on them , Her mom asked over a month ago and I completely forgot...so I whipped up a few .
Today we head to Saginaw for my brothers surprize 70th birthday party,, I was torn my grand daughter invited me to a girls brunch at a very nice restaurant downtown Detroit, but I had already said yes to the party...I am hoping to get together with my grandaughter at another day, I only have the one brother now and hated to miss it since he really really hates surprizes...It should be fun,,,to see that grampy old man get a party.
Well I need to get going,,,still have to sort out Ken's closet..He has work clothes with is old company logo that he will no longer need and has agreed to toss them...
Tinab Hope you get that sewing room i love having a messy room I can close the door on and deal with the mess later. His Mom lived with you? My mom was not a saver as a matter of fact she threw away all MY stuff too. all my high school stuff. ( love letters that Ken wrote to me while we were dating) all gone...So I saved a ton of stuff for my kids,,,turned out they dont want any of it either, When we moved into this house..I called them all over to sort through it,,, Old toys went to youngest cousins and to the local church nursery, Colleen kept her entire collection of dolls and a few things My son didnt want much till the throw away pile got big,,,then my youngest son got sentimental and started taking stuff,,,his wife was not happy,, but he took a ton of stuff,,,I still have a couple of bins with memories in there,,,they can sort through when I am gone..

Good morning,

Maryz it is unknown really if the ostomy will be reversed. She said it would be at 6 months to a year at least. Nothing is working yet as of last night. He did finally pee about 8:45 last night and was excited about that. He had a pretty good day though.

I was able to leave a bit early and came home. I got his favorite blanket washed. We had left overs for dinner. My DSIL loaded up the dishwasher. And then we crashed. He is still sleeping. I should be.

Nothing else to report. One day I will get to sew again 😩

Hope you all have a wonderful day

Good morning!

Cold, too close to freezing! It refrigerator temperature outside! The good thing is the sun is shining , for awhile. I think more rain will arrive.

Watching my games yesterday was a real nailbiiter! BYU finally pulled out a win, Utah won too, in between the thunderstorms. Every time there was a lightning strike or thunder heard,, within 8 miles, a weather delay occurred, 30 minutes. Made for a long night!

The boys got the yard buttoned up, so now it's straighten the garage and barn, both inside jobs.

Church is a bit later. One new , very easy hymn. Hopefully afterwards, I'll sew until heading up to Sarah's for dinner.

So not much new here. This week my 9'ers are on tv here.

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning. It's a brisk 45 degrees here this morning but my windows are open and I'm in my cozy robe with a quilt on my lap.

I did turn off my ceiling fans and will definitely reverse the blades today. And I put flannel sheets on my bed last night, smart move on my part, it was cozy. I've been sleeping in, I'd like to get back to my 6am wake up time but this morning it was almost 7.

I guess we put this house here about 35 years ago. Most fixtures are shiny brass and wood. I'm slowly moving to brushed nickel with wood but not such a brown wood, I like the greyer wood tones.

Lois, woo hoo, your machine is home. They seem to have gotten it back to you quickly. What did they have to do to fix it? high five for $3 a yard fabric, great bargain.

Maryz, great!!! Nice to have a place for that old furniture. How wonderful for the nephew and you. win, win. I must have missed that you bought new furniture, it will be so exciting when it arrives. No, I haven't finished unloading my cabinets. I will finish it up today. My kitchen isn't very usable right now but I have a fridge full of sandwich makings and paper plates so I will survive.

Flo, the tweaks personalize the recipes, the sauce filled fingerprint stains also make them special.

Judi, enjoy the birthday party. A girls brunch would be fun, but you'll catch the next one. I have sorted things for my kids, they are in totes in the garage. I've thought about loading my car and going to Marilyn's to drop off some of her totes but she's a very long 3 1/2 hours from me.

Valerie, it's always good when you know the plumbing works. Hope his health improves.

Jana, glad the game as close. Sure makes it more exciting. It's pretty chilly here too, I just love it.

Lori, where are you???

Not sure when the parents will be here, but I need to start my day. Dinner for the next few nights will likely be a sandwich or something very simple. Hope you all have a fun day
Chriss

Chriss, I'm here! Jack and I were out for a walk. It's a beautiful morning here. Simple dinners are the best.

Valerie, hope you get in a little sewing time today.

Judi, I need to do some window here as well. I should also wash the carpets, but not this week.

Flo, I too will be cooking and baking more now that the weather is cooler. I think we don't like to write in books because that's what we were taught in school.

Tina, that's a long time to go without a room. Like Maryz, I would have started moving things out a little at a time.

Maryz, the Cubs lost last night, so they're out of the play off. We watch all the post season games though. It's the best baseball of the year. Your friend sounds like she has a hard time letting go. I find the hard part and where to get rid of some of the stuff. I'll probably have an estate sale once I get though everything. The garage rafters are loaded with stuff and I'll need to hire someone to get it all down. Get some rest and get better.

Lois, so happy you got the machine back. Now you can get those quilts finished.

We'll be watching baseball and working on the puzzle today. I sure hope we can finish it, but it has gotten a little harder. The tree's all lock the same. Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs.

Have a lovely day.
