Good morning,
Yesterday was my foot Dr apt he said my torn tendon is healed but the swelling was still there he thinks it has something to do with heat that we are still having so I go back in a month and if it still there he will talk to my Dr about a low dose water pill.
I also said my ankle seems to lean to the right and I was concerned about it might break he said no but he will look for another type of brace and discuss at my next appointment in November.
So I guess it went pretty well.
We are suppose to go to the chiropractor today but I'm cancelling and will go on Friday.
So today we will finish up the uglies.
Well that's all the news from here.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good mornong Lois. I was looking at my callender yesterday and I realized there are more Dr appts than social events...Do you find that too?
I spent yesterday do the same things I always do. Went and picked up my meat order and vacuum sealed all of it for the freezer, Beef prices are increasing, Our meat market tries to keep it level but even he has to make a profit, I noticed a lot of sales at the big box stores but I wont buy meat there,
Ken has excepted another consulting job and will leave the one he has here,,,this new job will be in Grand Rapids Mi. About 2 and a half hours from home, He will be staying there during the week and coming home on the weekends and when ever a special event comes up. He can make his own hours, and he doesnt do any heavy work just telling other what is wrong and what needs to be fixed,,It is machinery only a few know how to work on. He has taken work like this before so I am kinda used to it but I really hate him being gone,,,He always tells me I will have plenty of time to quilt....my middle son will stay here and go to work from my house just to do the yard work and help me with stuff i cant do. Soon we will need to shovel snow here ( biting my tongue) I cannot handle that or the snow plow...
On a lighter note, I finsihed putting together all the sections of the top...now to assemble them...She has 7 sections that need to be put together. then the borders, I am hoping to getthis on the long arm by next week.
For those of you who bought this quilt as a kit. I have a lot of fabric left over...a lot, I worry all through a quilt kit but this is by far the most generous kit Ive ever done...being queen size it will go on my bed,,,Next I think will be my first ever t shirt quilt and if the lady brings the backing fabric I will need to quilt the QOV quilt too...
Christmas shopping looms too. I have made a list and started to buy gift cards,,,changing it up a little this year and doing couples gift card for the couples..We will head to Frankenmuth Michigan to get ornaments next tuesday let the fun begin,,,We go to the worlds biggest Christmas Store, Jana it would be a dangerous place for you to shop,,,as big as a big Costco with solid Christmas through and through,,,my favorite place,,,
Thats all the news here hope you are all doing well...FLo prayers for your friend, May she find peace on her journey,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,
I slept solid for 8 hours -8p to 4a. I wish it were 5a, but I'm so thankful for the 8 hours.
FLO - I'm so sorry for your friend and her family. I pray for an easy journey for her.
LORI - I agree! It's time. You need a cat. But get two - they're small. Life is always better with a cat. Or two. Good to hear about your friend who has had 3 replacement surgeries and is back line dancing. We used to do a lot of dancing - line and couple - even taught a few dance classes. I would love to be back on the dance floor again!
CHRISS - If I want to thicken a stew, I stir a little flour into a little cold water and add it to the stew and stir it up and let it simmer another half hour. I never thought of using canned soup. Occasionally I'll use a packet of instant gravy. Also, when I'm making the stew, a friend's mother taught me to use a can of beer for some of the liquid. All the alcohol cooks away, of course, and it gives the stew a smooth, slightly nutty flavor. A cousin reunion? How many cousins will be there? I could have a cousin reunion, I guess. Cousin Mary and I could go out to lunch. She isn't my real cousin but we claim each other. Our great grandparents, both widowed with families, married each other. She's from one family, I'm from the other. I suppose her 8 brothers and sisters would be my cousins, too, though I don't know them as well. And, oh, no the corn used on the heat packs won't pop, though it will smell like popcorn when heated.
LYN - Was there any requirement that all the work you just completed has to be done by a certified electrician? With some things, there is. That would be a bummer. Hope the plumber shows up and you can put a check mark next to that job on your list.
MARY Q - I must still be sleeping because in stead of your name, I started to type St. Cloud. You know my eye always picks up St. Cloud, where my Gramma Sophie was born. How was your day yesterday, out with Peggy. Did you find any wonderful, irresistable treasures? And how is your embroidery machine? Sometimes my Bernie will just freeze up like that - can't move the needle. I turn it off, walk away, and usually when I come back later and turn it on, the problem has worked itself out somehow.
JANA - glad your patients are on the mend. Do you know what triggered Ethan's attack? Might be worth investigating. Hope M.G.'s results all come back neg. And the season is getting close! Christmas lights! Of course, I love lights and as I sit on my sofa in front of the window our lights are glowing through the window and reflecting all across my computer screen. I love Christmas lights! Ours are on all year long. And I have Christmas presents scattered all over the living room. The fake tree for Hallowthanksmas is going up in a few days. I think you and I are the only ones who cheer when we start seeing Christmas stuff showing up at Costco!
JUDI - oh, the windows. Maybe your son could help with the them? I'm in no shape this year to read about windows!
LORI reminded me - many of Jen Kingwell's quilts (I've made 4 so far) are put together like KTVC - in sections with other parts, pieces, geese, etc to match them all up. Can be a challenge, but I do love challenges. I loved your post this morning - all full of Christmas stuff! I'd do Christmas all year long if I could. Please remind me when we make our trip east NEXT YEAR that I want to go to that Christmas shop in Frankenmuth. Maybe I could join you on your trip there. I'm glad your son will be with you while Ken is gone. You will miss Ken, but think of the reunions you'll have! And a flexible schedule will be nice for him.
LOIS - Does your ankle hurt a lot? Do you need to use a cane? Doesn't sound like you got a lot of infor at your dr appt. Back to your machine - if they were REALLY working on your machine yesterday like the person told you, and if they don't have to wait for parts, I would think it would have been done yesterday and shipped by today. I would think. Crossing fingers for you! For your machine and for your ankle.
VAL - hope all goes well today with Tony's appts.
Yesterday I sat and stitched on my CW's. And I made a salad. Today, maybe I'll sew up all those heat packs I've cut out. I don't have the corn yet to stuff them, but I'll be ready when it comes. Out of my big piece of cloth (56" wide by ~3 yds), I've got 12 packs. It shouldn't take long to sew them up. Then I need to sew some CW sections together, and also look at next KTVC block. I think it's the last one. Whoo Hoo!! Not sure how much I'll get done, but that's my plan for the sewing room.
Supper tonite is going to be the casserole that I found in the freezer yesterday but not in time to thaw it. So last night we ended up with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns out on the Blackstone grill. And the salad I made. Wed will be leftover casserole and Thurs night will be take'n'bake pizza. Then the kids are bringing over some nachos on the weekend. Looks like we won't be starving this week!
Look for the blessings in your day today!

Good Morning Girls
Brrrrr Tis a wee bit chilly this morning. 33*--I'm thinking it's time get clear off the plants from my porch! I'm thinking they are probably dead now anyway!
Lois.... good news that the tendon is all healed! At our age, we sure do worry about breaking a bone!! When my BFF was moving from Colorado---her 1st requirement was that there was a Sprouts store near by. That's the only place she shops--or Whole Foods ( a little too expensive for me) They ended up in Missouri!
Judi.... I thought Ken was supposed to be retired!!!! If he's going to be gone all week, who is going to take care of the ice rink! So glad your son will be there to help you out with things. There's advantages and disadvantages to being alone---less cooking is top on my list!
Maryz... A solid 8 hours!? Amazing! no potty stops? Now if we could just that a little to say 9-5 or 10-6! But I know your boys would not wait until 6 am to be fed! I did try the "turn it off and back on" but the needle was down into the fabric and the wheel would not budge at all! It's due to be fixed by Friday so I'll run back up and get it. Peg and I had a good time. I forget Peg is 83 and tires out --kind of like I do--we were ready to come after 2 thrift stores. Nothing too exciting, I picked up a couple books I didn't need. The store I really wanted to see was closed--I forgot to check store hours. I'll check it out on Friday.
Flo... So sorry to hear the news of your friend. I pray God watch over her and her family. I missed what happened? Accident? Stroke? How old is she? Will you be able to see her to say good bye?
Jana... Always good news that a biopsy is negative!
Lyn..... sounds like you are doing a lot of "pre-sale" work on the Estes house? Has Gary agreed? Still planning to hit the road in a couple weeks? You sure want to be on the road before that snow in the mountains starts moving down the plains!
Chriss.... Thickening soup? Years ago, I experimented thickening soup with dried potato flakes. DEX loved it so that was the recipe from then on. It's not my favorite, so I sure don't do it anymore--but it's an option---and a good way to add more Carbs!

I've used cream of chicken soup in my chicken/rice soup and never thought to use a cream soup in Beef Veggie soup. It sure won't be MUSHROOM (gag gag) I'll have to put it on the grocery list!
Lori...From what I understand, most "computerized" machines don't need to be oiled--or at least that's what my book says. I think it might be something that is done if you do what you are supposed to do and get it serviced annually. The professionals can take it apart and oil in places we can't reach. I should have taken my machine in a long time ago, but the place I bought it from charges almost $200. just to look at it!!! The Place in St. Cloud charges $69.00 for just a check up---more if there's a big problem. If they don't call me.... I'll know it's all ok!
Shawn stopped by last night to dig out some of their Halloween decor out of my attic over the garage and darn but he left his dog here!!! Ok, so I asked if I could have her for a few days! We're going to go for a walk--after it warms up a little. I do have to run to the grocery store for a few things later. It's a toss up whether I work outside and clean up the plants or stay in and clean up the mess in my sewing room! I'm thinking about rearranging in there, so I've made a mess and not come up with a real plan!
Need more coffee!!! Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies
Left the house early yesterday for 10 am appointment. Got my headlights cleaned. Wnt to Sew Yeah to exchange the foot they sold me for the new machine. Now I have the right one and can sew an accurate 1/4 inch. Went to lunch and thn home. My DD made Tony a cherry pie and then they went home. Put the jammies on after dinner and then unbeknownst to me the church president and his wife showed up. So that was a bit embarrassing.
Today we have 2 medical appointments and will probably stay in town for an early dinner.
Maryz I have never see Casa Coronado between here and LV. 13 miles south towards Vegas is a prison and right on the edge of N Las Vegas is the Snow Mountain Indian Reservation. Otherwise, wide open space.
Tomorrow starts prep for surgery. Sure not looking forward to it.
I am going to scoot as I want to get this floor cleaned before we go. Have a great day everyone

I am ok with whtever he wants to do. His health is good and this is what he wants,,,,When i retired I had no desire to continue nursing,,,just wanted out,,,He has never been happy reitred,,,xxxooo

Good morning!
We're on a roller coaster weather ride. Today might see 80, then drop to 60 tomorrow. Turn on the A/C, or turn on the heat, what to do? LOL!
Sarah talked with the school staff about Ethan. The janitorial people are checking what they use and will be especially careful in the rooms Ethan is in. They are using scent free too. Hopefully we'll get a handle on this.
Little Zion is doing great. He is breathing on his own, no additional oxygen. Still with a feeding tube, so that is the next step. Aaron says he does have a middle name, but he can't remember it.
No more word on Stu's broken elbow. Andrew is doing wonderful and his Spanish is improving with so much use. Andrew writes home a weekly email for all of us, so we know what's happening.. Logan is on furlough from his life guard job for 2 months , pool maintenance. Let's him sleep in a bit. He does a early morning shift, with the little old ladies doing their exercise clas, before Logan starts his school day.
Not much here. Yes, my Christmas lights are up and turned on. They are on a dusk to dawn timer. My elves were quick, had them in place in less than a hour! This company has the light strings in a box, with a instruction sheet on where each part goes. In January, they'll be back, take down and store the lights in my box at their shop. The way to go for us old people! I would like to put out my yard ground decorations, but that would interfere with my yard people mowing, so that waits!
Oh yes, that Christmas store would be too dangerous! I would need to borrow Matt's big truck and trailer if I went there! We have a year round Christmas store here, but not that big. I save lots of money, because that store doesn't have a handicap scooter to use. Plus, I've run out of space here for anymore. A pie 8n the sky wish, that I had enough extra money to go to a event here in Salt Lake called the Festival of Trees. It's a show/auction of the most fabulous decorated trees that you can bid/buy. People decorate with a theme, they choose, make all the ornaments, decorations and donate that tree for the auction. All proceeds go to Primary Children's hospital to help the children there. People pay in excess of 10,000 dollars for many of these trees. People even do and donate wreaths, quilts, and very elaborate gingerbread houses. Things are sold out on the first day! I have a quilt pattern, that is a Advent Calendar quilt, that the designer created for this festival. The original quilt sold for 2500 dollars! I made up that pattern and it hangs on my stair landing, where the grands can hang the small ornaments on the applique tree. Each grand has one of those ornaments that has their name on it. The whole quilt is about 54x54.
Well, it's feeding time at the zoo. Then watch devotional, then head to my Batt Cave!
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Chilly morning on the Mtn.
Lois, I hope the Dr comes up with a brace for your ankle.
Judi, You have again reminded me of my trip through Michigan so many years ago. I will be using my nativity scene at the house this year. How long will Ken be doing this new job?
Flo, Praying for Debbie and her family.
MaryZ, I haven't talked to the Dr about my hip. It doesn't hurt often, so I haven't mentioned it. If and hopefully when I find a Dr in Texas, I will ask. As for electrician, my detectors are 10 year battery, no wires. I sent photos to the county inspector and he texted this morning saying all looks good and will update and close the permit, then send me a copy.
MaryQ, No, no plans to sell this place.

The detectors are part of newer stricter laws in Colorado. If the boiler hadn't died, I would not have known about the detectors. The plumber had to pull a county permit for replacing the boiler. When the county inspector showed up he announced he had to check for detectors, too. Whenever this place goes up for sale it will be, AS IS.
Valerie, Sending you hugs

as you are dealing with all this. Tony is blessed to have you as a DSIL.
Yesterday I packed up both Berninas and all sewing stuff. It took me 2 days to find out that the order I made for Vita Feet is shipped from China.

I tried to change the shipping address but couldn't. So, either I wait for the package or have my UPS store send it to Texas. This is a product that should help Garry's neuropathy or so they claim. Got 2 loads of laundry done and some folding.
The plumber is suppose to be here before noon to replace a wire in the boiler. I have one more load of laundry to do. I am stacking everything in the lower level for when it's time to load the Jeep. I have 2 new Blink cameras to set up and replace batteries in the others. I haven't heard from Transwest yet, so leaving is up in the air.
Prayers for your needs.
Lyn
