Good morning,

Yesterday I put the border on my snowman quilt now that's done.
Today we are going to Walmart I need fiberfill for some bone neck pillows I'm making for my sister Rosie to give out as gifts for Christmas and I want to get them done so when my machine comes back I can quilt a few quilts.
Also going to BJ's to get stuff I'm out of.
That will be my day I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good much needed rainy day!
For the next few day rain is on the schedule. We are very lucky again from the storms-all going out to sea. We'll get some wind, rain and grey skies, but should be all gone in a few days.

LOIS--any idea to when your machine will be back? I hope it won't be long. What are bone neck pillows? Sounds interesting and Christmas ideas are always helpful.
GRAM--what cqlors are you doing the log cabin? Are you using any of El's pattern. I made Joe's years ago using the one that has the center star. Backed with minkie-still uses it.

I want to finish the QOV top today. Just have to hope it works out to match what I envision in my mind. LOL
Stay dry and enjoy the day
Diane

Good morning,

Every Monday I hear in my head, "🎼Monday Monday . 🎶. . . " by the Mamas and the Papas. And as long as it's running through my head, it might as well be running through all of yours. You're welcome. Today is Lee & Lara's 35th wedding anniversary. These two have know each other since they were 6 and 9, a 'couple' since they were 14 and 17, and married at 18 and barely 21. Even then everyone knew they were meant for each other.

LOIS - years ago Chickie's mom made those bone neck pillows and gave us two of them. They were handy and I still use them - I use one in the house and one in the trailer.

JUDI - you do have a busy day! Good luck to your teams. I saw the Lions won their game yesterday which probably made Ken happy. What is Ken's "other job"? I think I know but have forgotten. I'm up to the log cabins in KTVC. I have my forty 1-1/2" gold squares cut out. Today I plan to work on the "logs".

VAL - oh, what a mess you came home to! Was it just the kitchen or was that just the worst? I'm sorry this was your reward for all the good deeds you've done the past few weeks. I hope you can go to at least one of your sewing events. You so deserve it!! If it's any consolation it seems a lot of us were cleaning our fridges this past week and we're glad to have you in the fridge group!

CHRISS - your post sounds just like how life should be for you right now - slowly edging your way back into normal life, and counting the butterflies and dragonflies along the way. How was the steak dinner? I'm sure Moose was happy with his share!

LORI - I'm glad you are using some of your mom's painting supplies. It brings her energy to you and your work, I'm sure. Would her oil paints even be good still? Never say never - one day you might get into oils, you never know. Sorry about no post season baseball for your Cubs. But feel free to watch our Mariners! I saw a little video on Reels yesterday of a black lab and a golden. Sitting side by side, dinner napkins around their necks, as their person fed them equal bites of people food off a plate - with a fork. They were so patient and each waited their turn. So cute. Of course, I thought of your sweet boys!

JANA - I'm sorry for the loss of Dr. Nelson. He sounds like he was a great man in so many ways. But think of where he is now! One of my dad's favorite phrases was "your reward in heaven shall be great". And I'm sure Dr. Nelson's reward will be very great indeed. I think your light idea for the deck is a good one!

MARY Q - I think you were absent yesterday. What did you do?

My day yesterday was frittered away for the most part. I did get my six peppermint candies made and in the afternoon I cut the 40 little squares I'll need for my log cabins. So today, I'll be cutting logs. We'll see how I do. There's not much else going on here. The kids are taking their fifth-wheel back to the dealership because their rear jacks are leaking hydraulic fluid. So they need to be replaced. The rig needs to be there for 2 days, so kids and Elsa (my grandkitty) are going to a hotel in Silverdale (30 miles north) for two nights. They have their storage unit there that they are sorting out, a son nearby to visit, and some business to do - paperwork for Lee's official retirement from the Naval Shipyard. They will be home Wed, I think.

I think supper tonite will be pork chops, probably cooked in the crockpot. Or it might be lasagna. I'm going to give the HOH is choice. And if I know my HOH, and I do, he's going to choose lasagna.

I hope your Monday is magical!

Good morning!

Looking to be a beautiful day here. The weather is cooperating nicely. It was so nice, on Saturday, that everyone, at the same time, decided to drive up Alpine Loop to see the fall colors. So many in fact, that they had to close the road, because of too many cars! Alpine loop goes up and around by Sundance, then back either through Park City or Provo canyon.

I have a haircut appointment today. And some sewing, I hope. We have a Radon test kit that we need to do for the basement. The test requires that the air down there, not be disturbed for 48 hours, during the test,, so that will be a hindrance in sewing. We've wanted to do this test for awhile. Radon is quite common here.

Awhile back, Stuart got his foot tangled in the shower curtain, and fell getting out of the shower, landing on his elbow. It hurt like the dickens , but he went on with life. Still hurting a couple of weeks more, then he heard and felt a pop, and finally went to Urgent care. Yup, he broke the elbow and is now in a sling, holding his arm tightly against his chest. About 2 more weeks of that for it to heal.

A bit shaken up over the events in Michigan. Most of our churches are built using a similar floor plan. Where the truck drove through the building, heading near the pulpit, would have been right through where I sit to conduct the music. Puts a closer perspective for me.

Time to scoot, day is getting past me,

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Man, we are going from one extreme to the other here today...It's like 54* here now and Alexa says high temp with be 85*!!! from sweat pants in the morning to shorts in the afternoon!!!

Lois.... Your Snowman quilt turned out beautiful! You gotta be so proud of yourself (I sure would be!) for tackling a big project like that. Have you had any conversations with Grace Co. about your machine? I sure hope they get it back to you soon---you've got a lot of things you'd like to get done!

Judi.... Sounds like will be spending most of your day in the car today! Hope you can sneak in a little sewing time today!

Diane...The other day... I did see the map of the storm coming---There was Myrtle Beach right there!! Hopefully the worse of it will pass you by!

Maryz... Thanks!!! Now I have that song stuck in my head!!! Do you ever wake up in the night with a stupid song in your head!! The other night, it was a Billy Joel song! As usual, my yesterday involved hopping from one thing to another---sewed some nursing covers, a couple more pair of fleece mittens, made some lace earrings on the embroidery machine, cut out some more "dinner scarves". Now that I have a few little things done, I think I'll start some kind of quilt project--small so I can quilt myself. I have several jelly rolls to use up--they are fast and easy. Boy, that's quite a toss-up... Pork Chops or Lasagna! I have to say, as far as which one I'd rather EAT--it would be Lasagna---but which one I want to COOK---it would be Pork Chops!!

Jana.... I so thought of you yesterday when the terrible news came out. I don't normally have TV or radio on during the day--I just happened to look at Facebook and saw the story there. My heart goes out to all of your community. Here in MN, lots of folks drive up north along the shore of Lake Superior to see the fall colors. My folks and a group of their friends would make a pilgrimage up there almost every year--either there or south along the Mississippi River where it borders with Wisconsin.

Chriss.... Yes, the Christmas quilt was hand embroidered----which I had forgotten about when I dug the kit out of the closet! Actually, I think the applique was supposed to be hand done too, but I'm no good at hand applique so I did it by machine! Since we are doing kitchens this year, let's wait until next year to tackle the windows!  I do love the drapes idea--but that will involve getting someone to install curtain rods etc. UGH!

Valerie...OH dear sorry to hear you came home to such a mess!! Was somebody staying in your house while you were gone and left it like that? I heard there was a mild earth quake up that direction. Have you decided on a quilt to make with the batiks you bought here?

I think I'm finally going to get out of the house today! I have a long list of errands to run--
drop off some stuff at the high school, order the countertops--figured out my choice, pick up photo's I had done at Walgreens, get groceries----then come home and crash!

Maryz, the Cubs are in the post season. First game starts tomorrow. The oil paints are still good, but I will never use them. They can hang around for a while though. Our boys are very patient too. They won't eat until I tell them to. They sit and watch me until I give the go ahead. And they are very gentle with treats. Happy anniversary to the kids.

Jana, we had to have the radon test in our Illinois house basement. I too am going for a haircut today.

Maryq, I was supposed to do a couple of errands yesterday and didn't. So if I get time today I'll get them done.

I have a busy day, so I need to get going. Did a couple of blocks on the KTVC yesterday.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning. I think it's happening, I think fall is falling and I will see cooler weather. And to tempt fate I am going to cover the a/c. I know, pretty darn bold of me isn't it. I bought a cover from Amazon and am so happy with it. I also bought a toy ball to put under the cover on top of the a/c so that water won't pool on it.

Today is cardio rehab. Tomorrow is the follow up with the surgeon. There could be a bit of thrift store shopping happening tomorrow. Yay me.

It's starting. Elliott has taken two, yes two, steps. He let go of his walker and went one two into his mom's arms. And it was video'd. I told her once he gets going she will never go to the bathroom alone again.

Valerie, is it your house that is messy? It sounds like to me that you just need a really big hug. I have an extra one just for you. Life hasn't gone your way this past month. Quite a few roadblocks. But, the truck got you to where you needed to be, your BIL's house. While not where you wanted to be, it's where you were needed, and God made sure that your truck was in good shape to make the trip by allowing it to "bite the bullet". I hope that one day when you look back on this you will be glad that you were you needed to be. I do love butterflies, looking forward to seeing it.

Lois, those bone neck pillows are nice gifts. Hope you find everything you need.

Judi, the log cabin block is one that I have never done well. Bet you will sleep good tonight.

Diane, we are being threatened with rain here too, not sure when it will happen but I sure hope it does.

Flo, Yay for not too much cooking. Lucky you.

Maryz, I also pick lasagna. Hope the kids get their trailer fixed and have no more issues with things on wheels.

Jana, there has been a lot of bad things happening lately. I like what your govenor, at least I think it was the govenor, could have been the mayor, said. Can't we all just agree to disagree and still work together. He was on 60 minutes last night.

Maryq, when you order those counter tops see if they have a sample so you can use it to pick out window treatments. Not sure I can wait until next year for the kitchen windows. Once my kitchen is done I think I will do the laundry room and the bathroom off of the laundry room. The goal, I hope, is to have each room done by the end of next year, hoping it becomes reality.

Guess it's time to hit the shower, have some PB on toast and go to cardio rehab. I love cardio rehab.

Not even sure what dinner will be, probably a salad,

You girls have a fab day,
Chriss
