Tuesday, Sept 23rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Sep 23, 2025 3:57 am

Good morning,

My biorhythms are all off - I fall asleep at 8pm, wake up at 2am, and then nap from 1 to 3 in the afternoon. Arghh... But oh well - at least I'm getting my Zzzz'z.... Get it? Zzzz'zz.. because I'm mary z. haha - even at 3am I'm hilarious! (I am, aren't I?)

VAL - sorry you hit that button and lost your post. I do that, too, sometimes and it's so frustrating. But I am anxious to hear what's going on - how did Tony's test go? And is your hubby back with your machine or is that today?

LORI - I really liked all your quilts. Thanks for sharing photos of them! How was your watercolor class yesterday? Are you working on actual pictures yet? And I do remember - now - that you were doing the candy cane blocks from KTVC.

LYN - Estes Park is so pretty that I'd stay at home, too, if the weather was purrfect! Enjoy it while you can. Though I'm not sure washing windows is exactly "enjoying". You've reminded me to keep an eye on night time temps - I need to bring in my house plants soon, too.

CHRISS - that is funny that Moose takes his bone with him when he leaves. I guess you can't be trusted. Breakfast is never a question here. Bill eats Cheerios every morning in summer. In winter it's oatmeal. Camping is bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and on Christmas it's pancakes. He NEVER varies. I eat whatever I can find - usually supper leftovers. You are right - do a little cleaning every day. It's good therapy. As long as you don't overdo. Same goes here. It's hard to rein it in when you think you're feeling fine.

JANA - maybe you can sweetly suggest that they switch the name around. Enoch Michael is a bit awkward to say, but Michael Enoch flows much better. It is very sweet of your boys to escort the girls! Our world needs more young men like yours.

MQ - I guess I'm up for a dexascan this year, too. I got a message from My Chart saying I was due. In normal times I Just go for my Medicare check-up, and have my blood drawn a few days prior. I don't usually do any other exams.

FLO - that is a restaurant I'd love to try! Wow! Company coming 2 days early?? That can really upset the apple cart! I guess you are pouring on the coal to get ready. Is it just one person or a couple?

JUDI - I know it's all over by now, but your dr may have had most of your blood results in time for your appt. My results start pouring into My Chart before I'm even home from my blood draws. So unless you have something special that takes longer to process, you may be good to go. I got my Christmas Cactus done yesterday! Whoo Hoo! Now to do the smaller one. But probably not today.

DIANE - sorry you are waking early, but I would be thrilled if I could sleep until 4am. Here, it's been 2am all week long.

LOIS - hope you got all that laundry done and now you can just sew, baby, sew!

Yesterday was a nice day here - purrfect fall weather. Today should be the same. But cooler, wetter days are coming by the weekend. We're going to Olympia today to help out our friends with the two bum legs. I'm taking chili from my freezer to have for lunch and a container of stew from last night that they can heat for another meal. I'm also going to bake some cornbread this morning to warm up with the chili. We'll be gone a good part of the day. Oly is about 45 miles south of us. Scottie will have to stay home. They used to have shelties and all the dogs were friends but now they have an Aussie who doesn't get along with other dogs, and Scottie is too old now to get in fights. So his big sister (that's Lara), can watch him for us.

have a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning up at 6 as usuaual. It is cloudy and foggy this morning, I made the bed tried on a couple of outfits ( I look fat in a dress to the ridiculious level) I am just 5 ft and weigh about 30# more than i should and because of my stature I have a terrible time getting "dressed up". I am so a jeans and shirt kinda gal. I have 2 formal weddings in november and I need to decide now what to wear, and The last time I wore a dress was to Colleens wedding ( 20+ yrs ago) I was minus those 30 lbs. so I will maybe get out one of these days and find me a suitable outfit to wear to these weddings, I am thinking a 2 piece outfit might work if I can find something. . Tonight Ken is tking me to a fancy restuarant for dinner,,,The kids gave us a gift card to a fancy steakhouse ( linen table clothes and waiters in tuxes) We were supposwd to go for our anniversary and kept putting it off then we didnt want to go over the weekend ( too crowded) so today is the day,
My Dr appt was just fine, My blood work was all back and normal except I always get yelled at for not drinking enough water He say my kidneys show signs of stress from that so I will set out bottles of water to remind me, At 79 I get an A- on all my functions,,,A vitamin D level was not back yet but they are always fine and I take D every day, I cant complain, My arthritis is my only problem and tylenol my only friend some nights,
I decided to cut all the rest of the KTVC quilt and I am so over cutting all these pieces,I thought I was done and I turn the page and more cutting of pieces to fill in the top for assembly, This quilt is so cute finished but I am glad my next project is a t shirt quilt with BIG pieces, And to those of you doing this quilt there are a lot of small errors in the pattern so you should watch the videos where she tells you her boo boos which in my opinion should have been fixed before publication,,,
I am off to throw a load of laundry in the washer,,,and maybe do some tidying up around here.
Have a wonderful day. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,

We are going to be in the 80's today I can't wait a couple of more days of that then will be in the 70's.
Yesterday we got the machine to FedEx then I came home did the only 2 loads of laundry left all folded and put away and I finished the wagon for the quilted snowman.
I didn't get up until 5:57 today I went to bed at 8:30.

Today we have to go get some fruit and I need more pumpkin creamer for my coffee.
When we get back I will turn the page on the snowman book and I think it's the snowman ☃️.
Judi they make nice 3 PCs pants outfits and that's what I wore to my son's wedding very comfortable
I bought mine online and had someone altar it for me.
Mary enjoy your day with your friends so sweet of you and Bill to take food to them.

Well that's all the news from here I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

JUDI - we are body twins! I am only 4' 11-1/2" tall and about 30# overweight. I'm set for the famine I know is coming one day. But I suggest a long black skirt with a slit to the knee and pair it with a fancy top. Don't know your stance on heels - I can't wear them anymore myself - but every little inch helps! You could always get a nice pair of comfy black tennies to go with and bedazzle them a bit . . . Thanks for forging ahead on KTVC and finding all the errors. I'm marking my book as you go!

Good morning!

Should be another lovely day here. Maybe a spot of rain. I got my errands accomplished yesterday. My Highlander passed smog, made the banks runs, and picked up groceries needed. Then home and did uglies. Still have some laundry though to finish. My Highlander had a annoying message that I figured out how to fix and get rid of too! You Tube and I are becoming friends! If there are codes from the car, it won't pass smog inspection. I didn't have any of those codes, just a reminder code, so we passed and got the registration sticker and good for another year!

Daniel stopped by yesterday. He drove, or should I use the old phrase, flew low, across the desert! He is a speed demon, has the tickets to prove it! We are putting on the bottom of the deck, lattice. Miss Picky, here, wants a specific one, not the normal diamond pattern, I want the square pattern lattice. All the stores are out in our end of the valley, but I found stock up in SLC, so Daniel will pick it up. We only need 6 pieces. He's making the skirting under the deck so it opens and we have useful storage, that is hidden. My deck is about 4 feet off the ground, so it's a good space for the deck furniture, out of the winter snow.

I had to smile about finding the right outfit for a wedding. There's the family legend about that. When Mr G's parents got married, the mother of the bride, our grandmother was a very prim and proper English lady. Definitely very British! So to her, wearing a black dress to the wedding was formal, prim and proper. Now, the bride, her daughter, took offense and always accused her mother of not approving of the marriage. So be careful on color choice! 😀

It's a sew day for me. I do need to change the bed. I made the order of the blankets wrong. The electric blanket needs a light blanket on top, to help keep the heat in. I forgot that and Mr G is cold. He's always cold, even in the summer!

Time to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning girls. Tried to post last night and lost everything.

Colonoscopy was done yesterday. She couldn't get all the polyps. The tumor is circumfrencial and she couldn't get the scope through. She could through the hole in the middle. She drew out the scenario of the surgery and surgery is scheduled for Oct 10. I will go home Sat with my husband and return here on the forth. He says he can take care of himself so we will see. I worry he won't remember his medicine. I am going to write everything out for him and then we will see.

I am going to sew some on the guitar quilt for our friend. I can lay it out on the bed so I get everything in the right place.

Hard for me on my phoneto read everything and respond but I am keeping up as best I can.

Prayers for all in need.

Valerie

Cloudy, 44°, and a touch of snow on Twin Sisters peaks to our south.

When I got up, I decided to go check on the new boiler. I opened the door into the garage and found one of the garage doors open and very cold in the garage. The door opened by itself a couple nights back while we were watching TV. I had closed and unplugged it, but plugged it back in yesterday to take the trash out. Either a neighbor has programmed their opener to the same code or it's a plane going over causing it. I probably looked stupid yesterday as I walked our road with my garage door control trying to see if I could open someone's door, then I would have known who was causing the problem. But, non opened, so guessing it's planes.

Judi, I'm 5' 4". I wear pant suits to weddings. There's some very pretty ones.

Jana, You have reminded me that I have some stuff covered in the back yard that should be put back under the deck.

MaryZ, Estes is pretty right now, especially since the Aspen are turning.

I got the big living room windows cleaned, which requires climbing up and on a cat walk like deck over the garage doors. Also washed the storm door and the inside of the kitchen window. I really need to wash the outside of the kitchen window, but I tried moving the big ladder from the backyard and it's too heavy. I will either have Amanda help while she's here or I'm going to check in the MH and see if the pole that I use to clean the windshield is long enough to reach.

Speaking of MH, I need to get going. I have the extra floor tiles to take to Transwest, so they can make the best match when repairing the floor. I have other errands too.

Enjoy your warm weather for me, please.

Good Morning Girls

Up, showered and dressed! Yeah Me! Looks like a nice day and I think Miss Zara and I just might go for a little walk later. The kids will be home I think late this afternoon and I'm pretty sure Zara will be pretty excited to see Shawn again! She went kind of crazy the last time I had her for a few days! It's been fun having her and I'd take her again in a heart beat!

Maryz... Let me know when you make an appointment for your dexscan and I'll join you!

Judi.... ESP, I was just trying on things in closet to wear for my niece's wedding next month! I still have the fancy chiffon pants I wore for Jen's 1st wedding in 2010 and as luck would have it---they still fit! I don't even OWN a dress or a skirt---as that requires panty hose and I think that last time I wore those was Kevin's Wedding in 2007! --also the last time I wore high heals!!

Flo... Gotta love a rainy day--no yard work!!!

Lois.... Glad you got your machine taken to Fedex... hopefully they will get it fixed up and back to you! If it's not fixable--I'm hoping they send you a new machine!!

Jana.... Funny about Gramma in the black dress... Now the Bridesmaids often wear black. It can be really stunning actually, IMHO!

Valerie.... Glad you will be able to go home for a bit. Heard there was a bit of an earthquake up that way and thought of you. Hopefully there's not damage to your place. Will keep Tony in prayers. Is there someone who can stop by and check up on him while you are gone?

Lyn... Man you were busy washing those windows yesterday!!! What's your secret recipe for getting streak free windows? I have some of my inside ones done, but need to do outside and I'm getting very tempted to hire someone to do it. I could do them myself, I suppose--just waiting for the right day!

Chriss... LOVE your kitchen sink!!! I don't have a Lowe's near me, so I checked out HD and they carry the same sink. It's exactly what I was looking for, very similar to what I had in the old house. The Plumbers are coming on Thursday to give me an estimate for cost etc... Won't this be fun!!!

Lori,.... Do you use your Cricut a lot? I have a Silhouette Cameo that the kids bought me for Christmas a few years ago... I don't use it a much any more as there's no great place here to set it up. But I do have some cute SVG files!! My SIL-Laurie has the big HUGE Cricut that came with a floor stand--she does amazing things with hers!

Time to get in gear here, dirty dishes to clean up (will be nice to get dw hooked up again!--maybe this weekend! Got about 7 or 8 pair of fleece mittens sewn up yesterday and a few hats. Today I'm going to try my hand at making a Nursing cover for my niece's baby shower. Found a great tutorial on Youtube (gotta love Youtube!) Even MSQ had a tutorial for one. Kind of got me thinking that I could make up a bunch--super easy --and take to the pregnancy center in town--great way to use up odd and ends of fabric! Only take 27" or so!

Anyway... I'll check in with y'all tomorrow and for now... wish you all a Terrific Tuesday!

Good morning. Here we go again, another sunrise and another sunset, it's going to be a beautiful day.

My mom and sister went home last night on the train. They will arrive home this morning. Dad took us all out to dinner last night. It was ok but I am glad they are in Oregon and I am not.

Today will be nothing exciting. I would so like to wash my sheets but lifting the mattress to make the bed is the issue. Friday is cardio rehab and I a curious to see what that is all about.

Lyn, well? was a squeegee the way to go with those windows? Crazy about the garage door.

Lori, I love your quilts, they really are cool. How was line dancing and water coloring?

Maryz, nice that you are taking food to your friend. I think I will attempt a load of laundry today. I'm not going to hang it on the line, it will see the dryer. What I really want to do it sweep and mop my kitchen floor, but that will be a job for another day. I'm also a grab whatever is in the fridge girl when it comes to eating. I wonder if you took a Tylenol PM if you'd sleep later, or Nyquil or something like that. And yes, I think you are very funny at 3am.

Judi, UGH, clothes shopping. When you are looking for a specific something it is hard to find. Hope you find the perfect outfit. I own a few dresses but never wear a dress. Enjoy dinner out. I love a good steak.

Flo, enjoy the rain, when you are done, if there is any left, you can send it this way.

Lois, you had a nice long sleep. I usually go to bed around 11pm and am up around 6am. Glad the machine is on it's way and the snowman has a wagon.

Jana, Youtube and I are friends too. amazing how many how to videos there are and on every subject.

Valerie, so glad you were able to make progress for Tony. Hoping his upcoming surgery goes well too.

Maryq, It will be fun to have new kitchens. I did a lot of studying on those sinks. I also am glad I chose the one I picked. I told my dad we need to unhook and rehook up the plumbing and he said he knows a guy, he will be my plumber for that job. I also have dishes in my sink needing to be washed. I either need to buy a second coffee cup or do dishes more often. I really do have more coffee cups but don't really like them, not even sure why I still have them.

Not sure what dinner will be, but I can guarantee it will have as few carbs as possible, seems like all I have done lately is eat pasta and potatoes.

I also need a shower and to get my butt moving. You all have a super day
