Good morning,

JANA - That is a big deal quilt you and Sarah and Judi are doing. But it's beautiful! I didn't realize it was a sew along. We recarpeted our stairs a few years ago. They really take a beating here. We thought about going with wood, but it was so much more expensive. Foxy loves sharpening his claws on the stairs. One step in particular. So he is happy. Us - not so much. Go wood!

JUDI - are you thinking you might do a sew along or do it at your own pace? You went from having nearly no more sewing projects to enough to keep you out of trouble for months! That happened fast! But finding quilting patterns is like finding a husband. When you know it's the right one, you better pounce before someone else grabs it up!

CHRISS - glad your surgery was approved. But honestly, how could they not! I was reading up on bicuspid aortic valve - probably congenital, has only two leaflets instead of three, and can cause fainting. Fresh fruits/veggies are best for all hearts, especially berries. Most especially blueberries. Also peanut butter. And most people need the valve replaced about age 60. The waiting must be hard for you. Do go see Elliott. Have someone lift him onto your lap. There's no need for you to do the lifting. Or you get down on the floor with him. But go see him. Or better yet, ask them to come see you. It's a long drive. 💗 BTW, did you know yesterday was National Thrift Shop Day??

LORI - hahaha! I loved your little photo - and philosophy. And I've done that! But more often I add things to my list that I've already done just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing them off!

DIANE - how did dr appt go? Glad Erin is behaving for you.

LYN - Sorry about the RV park. Do you carry a small saw? We've had to saw our way into/out of several sites over the years. And the last Walmart we stayed at was in Eugene, OR. It was just getting dark when we settled in for the night. After a few hours, a white van came in and parked not too far from us. It was like he rolled up his side window, lit his neon sign, and customers started coming. They made their transaction and then drove so another area of the parking lot and parked. After about 15 cars came and "shopped", Bill announced we were leaving - and we did - at 3am. We didn't feel safe. We got two miles up the highway and there was a brand new Walmart and Cabelas - and Nice Rv's safely parked for the night. No white vans! But we've never stayed at a Walmart since.

LOIS - Have a safe trip to see Melissa's family. I pray they are doing OK. those pocket prayer squares and such a nice gesture. I think Tina B sent me one years ago. I carried it with me in my purse (along with St. Christopher), but when my brother's life took a nose dive during covid when he was trying to care for his wife with Alz with no help, I sent it to him. As far as I know, he carried it in his pocket and still has it.

FLO - how did Duane's appt go yesterday? And he has another one today?

Our yesterday was filled. My back-up Bernie was ready for pick=up so we did that and left my good one who just came back from being serviced 2 weeks ago but isn't sounding right. I know my baby!! So they took it back to Seattle to check it out. They are putting a rush on it. By the way, they charge $250 now for clean/service. Includes parts needed for any repairs. But every three years I buy a Service Agreement plan for $500. I get unlimited cleanings/repairs for those three years. Expensive but worth it. Then we went to Sketchers Outlet and I bought two new pairs of slip-in white sneakers. Buy one ($80) and get another pair half off. Then we did a few other errands before coming home. I sewed 30 more CW pods, turned them during TV last night and will iron them this morning. I will also try to get a photo of my QOV quilt and then wrap it up. L&L's boys will be here for BBQ next Wed. I have birthday gifts for both of them and we'll give Lee his then, too. None of them like cake so I need to figure out a different birthday dessert. I have PT today and will start packing some things into the trailer. Last out goes in first. So that will be about a dozen quilts for library quilting class & show in January.

Supper tonite is going to be omelets and fried potatoes.

That's all I have for now. Wishing you a sunny day!

& Foxy

COPIED FROM PRIOR POST

Good morning, today is Open Sew and Slow Stitch. I will run the vacuum before that and maybe a few other things. Mostly I rested yesterday. Didn't feel particularly well and had the dental appointment. One more appointment on Saturday and then that is it until after our trip. We did get a call last night and truck will be ready on Monday. Hoping that doesn't change. DH can take the truck for camper shell on Friday the 28th. That's cutting things close but should be okay.

Maryz i did get the Mammo results, they are negative Wish I had somewhere else to stage but this is a small house and it's all in the living room. Except clothes, they are still hanging in the closet. I have found a couple of garment bags so are putting mine in those. Wow, Scotty is big for a sheltie. I had the permanent crown put on yesterday and will have the cleaning on Saturday.

Maryq I think we paid around $1000 to $1200 for our dishwasher. It is very quiet, cleans very well. We did have to pick ours up but contractor who was remodeling the kitchen installed it.

Judi could you please sent some rain our way? We are having the hottest days of the summer right now and could really use a cool down. September 22nd can't come soon enough. I may be at MSQC around that date. Looks like QIAD has that Jane Austin quilt on sale right now. No Valerie, you do not need another project!

Jana always pays to pay attention. Wish Mr G was doing better, will continue prayers for him. Yes, we can be a bad influence on each other.

Chriss did Judy's hair get done? Is your recliner fixed? Schools are starting different days here depending on private, charter or pubic. I think the charters started yesterday. The young girl who sells up cupcakes is going to a charter this year. I say a little prayer for her everyday. She really wants to be successful in life and has good plans but doesn't seem like a lot of support. Glad you are heeding what the doctor said.

Lori LOL, I think I will start that same method. There have been a lot of obstacles, not sure why. Hoping they are over though but still not sure about DBIL. His vascular surgery appointment is the 28th. Still no word from the GI guy. I did suggest maybe he should call that office and inquire.

Diane stay safe, I am thinking my DS is far enough inland, she may get some effect but it shouldn't be bad. She is in Virginia. I think about 4 hours inland.

Lyn please wave to DS while you are there. So sorry to hear about the RV park. You would think the owners would want to please to have repeat customers but maybe not. I will have to write those places down and see if I can fit them in. Maybe if not too far DS can take us while we are there?

Well I must get to getting if I am to accomplish anything before leaving. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi all. I am buzzing around the house doing stuff. Sweeping floors and taking ouot trash and general tidying up. I am heading over to visit with Navy in a few, just for an hour or so. Val has her today and asked me if i wanted to visit, so i will.
Then i will come home and finish up my chores. We still have leftovers for supper so that is what I will do. Need them used up.
As for the Jane Austen quilt it is so sweet and yes it is a BOM on line, the pattern is free in the Riley Blake site...all 40 pages, I went through my layer cake box and pulled out all the fabric that will go. and I will pick up the rest of the fabric as I go through my travels. the kit was over $200 and that didnt include batting and backing, so I will make it with what i find having a thumb print of the needed fabric. I sorted it all out and I will start it later in the year,, THis is a lot easier than it looks..the hardest part I think is the applique. I do mine by machine in matching thread but hand is sweet too. I love my previous Jane Austen quilt but it was a hard quilt to make, Diaamonds are tricky to piece, it is my favorite quilt of all that I have made.

Yesterday i opened the vintage Christmas quillt kit...LOTS OF PIECES OF FABRIC..so I sorted and labeled it all...and today I will iron with sizing all the pieces. Sizing is recomended due to the small pieces they are easier to precision piece when they have a little stiffness to them. I am using a sizing I had here, THey recommend Terial magic deluted 2 to 1 but I have sizing that works too. I will prep the entire kits before I start, THis also has me excired to make too..It is queen sized and ill go on my bed for the holidays if I get it done.
Well hope you all have fun wiith all these qulting adventures, Praying for the needs f all...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good Morning Girls

Sorry I missed y'all yesterday! I did sit and read and I started a note, but looked up and noticed a disaster in my house--little pieces of fabric here and there (imagine that!) and knew there were dishes in the sink and that it was time to wash the kitchen floor---something sticky there! SO I got busy and did a few chores. Never made it back here!

Lois.... How fun... a weekend get-away! Seems to me there are some fun quilt shops in the Lancaster area? Isn't there a big quilt show there too? That's not this weekend is it?

Maryz... Sketchers are my favorite shoe! Can't believe how expensive they are tho!! There's a Sketchers store just up the street from me at the outlet mall--I run up there every 2 years or so for a new pair of kicks! I saw a recipe on FB for a nummy lemon cream pie! If I could only remember it all, I'd share it! (as an alternative to cake)

Flo.... For sure I'll keep sending prayers! I've stuck a posit-it note above my desk right in front of me so I can't forget. So far he doesn't need dialysis, they are just moving his port right?🙏🙏🙏

Valerie.... I've looked at so many dishwashers--my eyes are blurry! At this point I have to wait until Shawn and Kris are available to install it for me. I saw on line that HD prices might be going up due to tariffs, but Whirlpool d/w are made in the US. What's the news on your truck? Tell me again what day are you leaving California?

Judi.... oh darn... I went to the Riley Blake site to look at the Jane Austen quilt!!! I have 2 tote boxes in my garage of RB fabric. I did download the pattern, but won't even THINK about doing it. -- unless you double dog dare me!  I just remembered I have a Christmas quilt kit in my closet!!! And I've started the Fat Cat Flamingoes quilt!!

Chriss.... SO SO SO glad that they were able to schedule so quickly! I will be home all day on Monday and as I wander around the house going from one project to another, you will be in my thoughts and prayers constantly! You gave Richard one of our phone numbers?

So yesterday, after the floor was washed I ended up putting together a small quilt top- Here's how my ADD works.... I was cleaning up some odd patterns that were sitting on a little dresser in my living room. I looked at one and thought "this looks easy" Takes 12 FQ's.. I have FQ's! I had a box of Prairie woman FQ's that I got at Walmart oh maybe 2 years ago- Perfect I thought, so I cut them up--just needed 24 HST's easy peasy. In between aprons, I got all the blocks made and yesterday finished putting them together. Just need to throw a border on and Wa-la!

Today I have to go get my new Shingles Shot!! Seeing what Peg has gone through with shingles this last week, I thought I better get the new shot! Then I'll head to Target to get groceries---I'm down to only a few eggs in the house and a pound of hamburger! Not sure how much sewing I'll get done today. Katie was given 11 yards of black denim---- so of course she shared with me ! Anybody want some black denim??? I think I might make a couple aprons (the donor of the fabric requested one) Maybe a little more masculine ones. Who knows, they might sell!

Time to hit the shower!!!
Have a wonderful day. Prayers all around

Good morning!

Long night, just finally woke up. Mr G's monitor, which I changed yesterday morning, was defective and giving erroneous readings all day,, so we switched it to a new one. Then I didn't pay attention to if he took his other meds, which he hadn't, that caused a huge blood sugar crash, that I had to get under control. I finally did and we're doing OK now. So I am tired! I'm on top of the meds today!

Sarah has the JA pattern downloaded and will print them out. We had two different co,or printers, one ink jet, the other a color laser printer. So Sarah has the laser printer and will use it. Mr G used them for work, when he did that from home. QIAD was out of stock for the JA kit, but I found it on another site. This kit included the templates too. The templates can be expensive. Wish I had a resale license sometimes, Riley Blake warehouse is about 5 miles from me! Then I could just zip over and get stuff! So with Sarah's busy schedule, a BOM works good. But we may just strike out on our own. Oh, the designer just lives down the road! So a little bit of OWL, and some JA, should keep me out of trouble. Oh, I have two new Kimberbell quilts coming from a pre-order. One in September and one in October. Batt Cave needs to get some order, so I can keep track of each kit.

I'm up to my nose-pits, family joke, in chaffing pans! They are still in my kitchen from the party. We want to stack the pans together, but when we do, they create a vacuum and you can't separate them. So first, there's always a first, we need to place a separator between them. That I'm doing today.

I also ordered, they'll be here Monday, two new collage frames. These holds both vertical and horizontal pictures, in the same frame . 20 pictures each. Mr G had a picture that no matter what, had to be included and I needed the new frames. My only problem with the new frames, they're black, so I'll spray paint them white. Daniel has extra paint from my deck railing.

Oh, if you could hear the conversation that's being carried on here, you'd laugh! I'm here typing on QIAD and Mr G is telling me all the mathematical numbers and parameters for the new added disease we are dealing with. He always puts it in terms of how, if he had those percentage of killing people, he would be serving time in Leavenworth! Leavenworth is a federal prison and as a engineer, if he was negligent, he'd go to prison.. He was ever so ever cautious with the safety of 250,000 people every day! Never had a accident in the 40 years he worked there! Now he fusses over the odds that Dr's give. I know just when to say, uh huh at the right moment! :)

Well, he's slightly done, and I need to fix breakfast.

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Jana, funny the things that go through peoples minds. My son is an engineer and worked on the F16 for the AF and then LocHeed Martin. He is a rule follower to a fault. Sounds like you have your JA under way. I may have to look at that one again. You all are a bad influence. lol

Maryq, you only started one new project? You could put a little embroidery on the black denim. That would be pretty.

Judi, have fun with little Navy. I bet she is a joy to be around. I haven't starched any of my fabric and it was fine. Even the little bits for the candy cane.

Maryz, hahaha I too add things to my list just to cross them off. You've got a lot to do before you leave. Will you be needing any fabric for your class? I can make up kits again if you like. Just let me know.

Valerie, sounds like things are finally starting to go your way. You'll be ready to go soon. We are having the hottest days as well. Hope it doesn't last too long.

Flo, hope you can get your headache under control. Those are no fun.

Lois, a little get away sounds nice. Could you please send the rain back west.

Chriss, so glad you are getting in soon to have your procedure. It's going to be a long road to recovery, but you'll get there. I bet the hardest thing will not being able to pick up Elliott and get smooches. Glad you have a plan for Moose. He's going to be lonely.

We walked early again. It was warm all night long. Supposed to be that way until next week. I am definitely ready for fall. I need to straiten up a bit here and then probably sew since the A/C will be on early. Don't know what's for dinner, but it will be something that I don't need to turn on the oven for. Maybe eggs and potatoes like Maryz.

Have a lovely evening.

Well, my visit with the surgeon did not go well at all. I have another op next Thrus the lab found cancer cells left. The surgeon had removed more then usual and the sneaky cells hid and thought they got away. Joe was able to change his BCG treatment so he will at the hospital. The surgeon will do this op only 2 times then we go for the whole breast removal. Fingers crossed.
Radition will start if this new op gives me clear labs mid October.

Chris--my journey started in May also, so I'll be thinking of you as we both travel the rode.
Flo- hope everything works out okay with the doctors for your son.
The storm is causing huge waves, scary to see on the news

Keep safe
Diane
