Good morning,

I've been sitting on the deck each morning while I visit with y'all and every morning is a little darker. Winter is coming and I'm not ready for it! I could stand a little rain but not winter. Not yet!

VAL - I hope the shooting incident is resolved the way we all know it should be. Maybe the shooter will come forward. Though, likely, they aren't supposed to be in possession of a gun so I suppose that won't happen. Dang. I hate that your truck is the casualty. Did you get your camper shell? Last I heard you were still hoping it would arrive before your trip.

CHRISS - I hope you are able to gather up all the records you need for tomorrow. Do they not put those on your Patient Portal or My Chart? My orthopod last Thursday was even able to access my MRI and he's not even part of my medical system. Makes things so much easier.

KATY - at one time you were talking about possibly selling your house along with your property and moving. Is that idea off the table now? Those are a lot of big repairs your house needs. Nice that your sister comes to help in the yard. Is she one of the twins? I finally had to hire help - my dental hygienist is a young man who does yard work on the side. He comes by about every 3 weeks and does a half day for me. Just that little bit has been a godsend to me. Hug spoiled little Barny for me. Even though I, myself, would never hold with spoiling a pet. (she said, with almost a straight face!     )

JANA - Bill torches weeds in the gravel, too. Can you have a fire in your firepit right now? Our county has a fire ban on through September. Even though our firepit is extremely safe - safer than campgrounds - right now we can't burn anything.

LOIS - What's happening with you now that you are on 'vacation'?

JUDI - lots of family doin's for you! I like that about summer - you get to see everybody. And then some! What's your next big project? Did you decide?

MARY Q - welcome home! Tell us all about the party! And what's the current sewing project that you came home to?

Yesterday I quilted one quilt (small lap size - only takes me about 45 minutes) and got binding on two. Then I worked on Lee's QOV. I also roasted up a Costco bag of fresh garlic. I ended up with about a scant pint that I put in the fridge. Today, I'll finish the binding on the baby clothes quilt and work on the QOV. But there's some house uglies that are calling someone's name. And by process of elimination, I guess it's my name. I'm thinking of changing my name! There are sheets and towels to wash, bathrooms to clean, floors to sweep, carpets to vacuum. UGH-lies!

I made beef burgundy in the crock pot and served it over mashed potatoes for supper last night and it turned out delicious! Bill says it was company worthy. We have leftovers that will either be for tonite or I'll freeze. I have a turkey breast thawing in the garage fridge so it depends on if that's ready to cook. So we're either having leftovers or a whole new turkey dinner tonite for supper. After tonite we'll be having all sorts of turkey dishes.

Make your day a good one!

Good morning!

Beautiful again here. But heck. Rain and thunderstorm would be beautful too!

No fires here at all. We are under mandatory no burn rules too. We are just too dry and no humidity.

Today, my internet provider is changing out my equipment to their new fancier stuff. They say it will take about a hour, but I have no time frame as to when. The company was to send a text message, but never did to a phone that accepts texts. They used the landline! So we're stuck here until they're done. Oh well, it's a great company and they just lowered the price per month for my service, without dropping my speed.

So, I guess a few uglies will get done. In fact, I'm running the vacuum right now as I type here! Lovely robot vacuum. Not only vacuums, but is entertaining too!

Kitchen is calling, counters are in need of wiping off and breakfast needs to be cooked. I'm bad this morning, I'm making me some brownie bites to go with my scrambled eggs. πŸ˜€

Do fun stuff, and eat brownies!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning I was up at 530am Ken left for work and I emptied the dishwasher and got myself presentable looking, I needed to hit the grocery store today. Every once and a while it is stock up day..I bought extra canned soup and salad dressings and things I dont make from scratch. I also cleaned the bar fridge and restocked it with soda for the kiddos when they stop by. they seem to like regular coke and Dr Pepper and root beer so I keep that handy. I stripped the bed and need to re make it,I hate that chore but i wasnt home yesterday to do it. ( Ken will do it on sundays when he is home) but he has been painting cabinets in the bar area, Counter tops are done and the base has been painted. Now 2 cabinets for the back bar and a shelf to hold the bottles...meed to be built. He hasnt ordered the bar stools yet cannot decide what he wants,,,so we wait.
Now I have bread dough rising and will get that done.
More prayers are needed My sister in law ( wife of my late brother) is on a ventilator in ICU in New jersey. We do not hear from her much or my brothers kids but got a text today....We do not know what is wrong with her or any details but it sure sounds like she could use some prayers,
We are 80 and sunny today no fall or winter vibes here,,,Still need to work in the flower beds and my son will help. so that might get done before we go on vacation, maybe,
Have a wonderful day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good Morning Girls

yup, I'm home!! I think it's going to be a nice quiet week. No big plans except to take the kids back-to-school shopping on Wednesday.

Had a GREAT time with my siblings! It's always wonderful when we can ALL be together. We fulfilled a promise that we made to my Mom just before she passed---that we'd all stay close. We sat around a bonfire all afternoon and caught up with all the doings of our kids and grandkids. We were at Greg and Carols. Brother David & his (crazy) wife slept over in the airstream parked in the driveway and I stayed at a nice little hotel down the street. Four new grand babies this year and a wedding in October---so it's been a busy year! Brother David is going to check out ZOOM and maybe set it up so we can have a once-a-month zoom call to keep in touch.

Maryz... Beef Burgundy? Man that sounds good!!! We had so much good food over the weekend, that I shouldn't be hungry for a week! Burgers, brats, potato salad, lettuce salad, chips and dip. Crazy SIL brought a bucket full of candy. I'm surprised my BG didn't go through the roof! (it's all good this morning) What's the latest on the truck? Now sure what the sewing plan is now that all the pencil cases are done. I'm kind of putting together a little table runner for Peggy (across the way Peggy). Kevin brought me big project from his golf course---a HUGE canvas type curtain that needs velcro sewed on---he might have to come out and help me maneuver it through the sewing machine.

Jana... Brownie bite with eggs? That's an interesting combination!!!  I prefer bacon with my eggs! How nice that your deck is all done. Are the kids still working on your party, but keeping the details secret?

Judi.... OH so many times I have seen prayers answered! Not always in the way we want them to be... but certainly answered.. I am so happy to hear that our prayers worked for Sophie and she is doing so well. How old is she now? 14? Liam will graduate this year? '26? Is Nolan ready to go back to school? I follow a group on Facebook--"The Accidental Pharmacist" Has some fun/and not so fun things about Pharmacy these days. Makes me OH so glad that we sold our pharmacy when we did and that I retired when I did!!!

Lois.... So you will have a nice quiet week all on your own??? Any big plans? Friends over for lunch? Lots of sewing? Sneak in a trip to Hobby Lobby? My theory was always--what ever money he spent on hunting, I got a matching amount to spend on ME! It didn't always work out that way but I think it was a good idea!

Katy... Good to see you peek in! SO glad to hear that the land purchase is all done and closed!! Finally!!! I know that took quite a while. I'm just not sure about Secret Santa this year. It has always been so much fun over the years but so few participate any more what with cost of fabric and postage going to high. Heck to send to even a padded priority envelope is almost $12! But I haven't ruled it out. My best advice would be going forward... don't go crazy picking up things for an Elf--unless it's stuff that you would end up using yourself.

Lyn.... How fun to go to and Art & Craft festival!!! Love those! How's the smoke up near you? It's making things really hazy down here. If I remember correctly from when the kids lived in Calgary--Canadian have a holiday Monday at least once a month!

Chriss.... You are feeling so much better? Tell me again what the Dr said about the angiogram? When I'm gone for even a day I think I miss so much. But you are going to the Dr today? I'll be sending prayers whilst I wander around the house try to figure out the Project of the Day!

Valerie.... You had a shooting right by your house? Am I understanding it that bullets hit your truck???? OMG!!!! Have you considered moving out of Vallejo or even out of California all together? I bet your nephew in MN could find you a nice spot to spend your retirement!  Though you'd have to invest in winter coats, boots, hats and mittens!!!

Guess I better get going, my coffee is cold and there are a few dishes in the sink. Still not sure to do about dishwasher! No rush.

Wishing you all a Marvelous Monday!!

Good morning. It's going to be a wonderful day today. I'm getting a slow start but am starting.

A trip into town today will end with a Costco shopping spree. I don't need a lot so am hoping it will be quick.

Yesterday I finished my list of things to do for my son and put it with my will. Now everything he needs is in one place and he can check off things as he goes along. I also made up my list of surgeon questions. I've already added to the list so I will do a reprint and space the questions out a bit for note taking space. I feel prepared.

Valerie, dang huh? for something to escalate enough to bring out a gun and start shooting. My thoughts never (except for squirrels) lead me to thinking about getting my gun. I would think, if someone had actually gotten shot, it would be more thoroughly investigated. Cops just have too much junk to deal with I imagine. Hope the truck gets fixed and all is well for your trip. Odd about DBIL and his GF, or former GF. Some things you just don't want to get in the middle of.

Maryz, when you turn that turkey breast into a turkey pot pie let me know and I will help you eat it. I wish Costco had a much smaller version of their pot pie. I'm also not ready for winter. I wish we could have spring and fall, but we really don't have those much, seems that winter and summer dominate.

Jana, are you having actual brownies with eggs? We are also in a no burning pattern. Even mowing or weed eating is frowned upon. Amazing the things that can start a fire.

Judi, prayers for DSIL. I also keep soda and bottled water on hand. Dad likes his diet pepsi or 7up. I very rarely have a soda. I pretty much just stick to water. I will do my sheets this week. I switched from a king to a double size bed, the sheet changing is much easier now.

Maryq, Today I go pick up my medical records from my cardiologist and tomorrow take them to the cardio surgeon. They did fax the records to the surgeon, but I am making sure they are where they need to be. The angiogram checked all of my valves except for the aortic valve. Its leaflets are severely calcified causing a narrow opening. The cardiologist didn't want to invade the aortic valve and cause any further issues. The aortic valve will need to be replaced, but the surgeon needs to confirm the details first. The diagnosis so far is Severe Aortic Stenosis. I'll know more tomorrow. And I do feel really good. If I wasn't' diagnosed I wouldn't know I had an issue. I'm so glad you had a fun time at the family gathering. If I ever head your way I'm going to schedule my time so I can also attend one of your picnics. Potato salad is something I just love. I use cauliflower now but boy, if I am at a gathering with home made potato salad it will be eaten by me. Love the zoom idea

I need breakfast and a shower. After that Moose and I will walk down the driveway and I can go into town.

Perhaps by the time I get to Costco the morning rush will have dwindled, ha ha.

Dinner, well perhaps I will pick up something at Costco. My refrigerator pot luck last night cleaned out the fridge and the leftovers are done.

You girls have a fab day

Maryz, well that's a bummer about you hips and back. I guess too much fun in your younger years. How's Scottie doing? The boys say hi.

Chriss, you sound prepared for your doctor visit. Take notes if you can. It's hard to remember everything they tell you. That's why the suggest you have an advocate with you. It can be overwhelming. Hope you find something delicious at Costco for dinner. Give Moose a little head scratch for me.

Maryq, sounds like a good time had by all. Zoom would be a great way to keep in touch.

Judi, sorry to hear about your SIL.

Jana, so many times I have people text the landline. It used to give you an error message, but because it's internet now it just goes into never never land. Brownie bites with scrambled eggs? Interesting. I think I'd skip the eggs.

Katy, I bet you are so happy not to be dealing the farm any longer.

Valerie, what a shame your truck took the brunt of someone so stupid. Hope you can find someone with video. I was just thinking the other day I want to get cameras for our house.

Well I got my sheets washed and put back on the bed yesterday. I did a few things around the house. Then last night I decided to cut out the Candy Cane block for the KT Christmas sampler. Oh my it has a lot of little pieces. They are labeled and ready to sew. I'll give it a try sometime today. Don't know what's for dinner just yet.

Have a lovely day.

OK guys, just look at a brownie as a dense chocolate muffin and you'll eat muffins with your breakfast. Well, that's what I did. Scrambled my eggs and had 2 brownie bites , no frosting, along side. They were yummy. Yes, I'm weird, but right now on a limited soft food diet, for 3 more months!

I made one candy cane block. It's fairly easy, just little pieces.

Yes there are a lot of pieces. I liked how you paid attention to the stripes on the candy canes. That's the mark of a artist!
