Morning.
No clue when new roof will go on. Waiting on materials. The roofers were supposed to order materials in June, but didn't expect this delay. It's very frustrating.
I've been down with tummy ache, so nothing got done yesterday.
Maryq, I have always cooked on gas for most part. There was a 2 yrs time in late 80's when we lived in Sacramento in an all electric apartment. Plus house here was all electric when we bought it. I could not cook on electric and threatened to stop cooking.
Time to get moving. Mowing and edging to do plus my blackberries are ripening so I need to pick some.

Re: Wednesday July 9,2025
Good morning,
I was awake by 3am, up for a half-hour, tried to read myself back to sleep, and finally got up for good at 4am. A bummer as our company is arriving this afternoon and I'll probably be falling asleep by supper time.
FLO - sorry your roof is on hold. I prefer cooking with gas, too, though for most of my life I've had electric stoves. But if I had a choice (which I don't), it would be gas.
JANA - I'll be with you in spirit this morning when you are having your dental surgery. Hoping all goes well for you and you are home soon. I'm glad you got the Kimberbell pattern. I know you love them and after all, Valentine's is Your Time! And you can tell your Mr. G that I really like having my iron plugged into the new plug strip. So handy! and I'm even starting to remember to turn the strip off when I'm done sewing for the day!
LORI - glad you are back to doing some sewing. How is cleaning your parents' house going? It's a big job to do all by yourself.
CHRISS - We are really liking the food we've cooked on the Blackstone Grill so far. Last night Bill did corn on the cob and pork chops. Yum! It's great that you are getting so many tomatoes. Nothing tastes as good as a fresh home-grown tomato eaten right off the vine. You've brought an old memory to my mind. When I was in my single digits, my sister and I would go to our friends on Sat afternoons to play. Their dad raised fields of tomatoes and we would lay under the plants, watch the clouds, talk, and eat tomatoes. They were SOO good!
LYN - thanks for explaining "roundy round".
I thought you were talking about some fancy hula hoop trick, because I've seen some pretty fancy hooping. I did get what you were saying though, about walking the baby. Maybe we should officially name THAT trick, "Walking The Baby". I'm not surprised that tired is catching up with you. I'm guessing you could use a day to three to just rest.
JUDI - Too funny about the exploding biscuits! They must have gotten warm?
How goes the relaxing? Are you doing more CW blocks? And is the weather behaving?
MARY Q texted me last night as she was getting on her plane. So she is in Anchorage now with her DD. Mary, I hope you have a wonderful time and a wonderful visit.
Yesterday we did our Costco and grocery shopping. Then I spent an hour in the sewing room, prepped supper, and then we went to friends for a short visit, sitting outside by their koi pond and drinking a glass of wine. Today is tidy up the house, vac, sweep, and clean the main bathroom. Our Oregon friends moved their arrival date up a day so they will be here this afternoon sometime. I'm going to make chicken cacciatore for supper. I'll put it in the crockpot this morning, make a salad early and pop it into the fridge. All I'll have to do when suppertime comes is cook the fettuccini. If there's time, I'll try to squeeze in a little nap even though I'm not a napper. And if there's more time, I'll try to get in a bit of sewing. I know what I want to do with most of the rest of Amara's baby clothes, but just haven't had much time for sewing.
Have a "Wunnerful wunnerful" Wednesday!

Well here I sit. Waiting. The anesthesiologist had a emergency and another is coming and should be here anytime. They thought about a hour, which is about now. So not much to do, but sit in the uncomfortable dental chair.
Y'all have a good day.
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning all
Yesterday we had a second KT day. We will be going twice a month for 3 months. Many of us are starting the Vintage Christmas quilt which is a new release this year from KT. Not sure I will get it done for Christmas. After two days, I still don't have it fully cut. One of those patterns you really have to pay attention or byou miss cut. The shop made up kits for us so if you miss cut, you run out of fabric. UGH! have had to buy 2 more pieces.
I also found out yesterday that my DGS and his wife are having yet another baby. This is #4. I am not real enthused about it as they can't provide for the 3 they already have. But what can I do, it's a girl so that will give them 2 girls and 2 boys. Wish one of them would get fixed. She is due next month, so have once again kept everything secret. Mom has gained quite a bit of weight so hard to see the pregnancy. That makes 4 children and 5 adults in a 3 bedroom home. Will love the baby all the same though.
Have a toothache this morning. I need to call the dentist and hope I can get in soon. It can be difficult. I will have to start with a new dentist due to insurance change with Medicare and KSR Senior
Advantage. My old dentist is not on that plan.
DH is working the later shift today so not going in until 11. Maybe he will wash my car this morning. He can bring in my sewing stuff too. Today, after he leaves, I will work on the Blueberries and Cream quilt. Possibly can get it close to done. A lot of sashing to put on so it may take some time.
We are 59 at the moment but getting to around 85. The house is open now and AC will go on sometime this AM. The weekend is supposed to cool off. Now through September is our hottest time so the year.
Jana bummer, I will be joining you soon I hope.
Judi hope Grandpa got some sleep.
Lois I think I will get a small fan too for the sewing room. The AC doesn't get that room too cool.
Maryq I likely won't do any chores today. Will wait until tomorrow when DH goes in early. I for whatever reason don't like starting chores at 11am. I want to do them first thing in morning. Uhm, I have not made chicken cacciatore in a long time. I should think about that.
Flo I have decided I prefer a gas stove as opposed to this electric stuff. I don't have a gas hook up in the ktichen so would have to have one installed. Not sure what that would cost. Probably more than the stove.
Well I gotta be getting. Had breakfast but till need to clean up and do something with all this hair. Oh shoot, I also have to clean the CPAP today. I skipped yesterday cuz I was leaving for sewing.
Have a great day!

Re: Wednesday July 9,2025
Good morning my wonderful friends. It's going to be a great day today.
Of the 5 or so people I have sent pictures and a drawing of my kitchen to I had two contact me. One will be here Friday to look over the job. Both said they wouldn't be able to actually do the work until about October. Kind of like doctors it seems construction people are hard to come by.
I also got an email yesterday, my little chair has been stripped and is ready to be picked up. I am so excited. Sadly no one can go with me but unsadly, that means I can hit all the thrift stores on the way home and not have to hurry or wait for anyone. Yep, it's good to be me.
Lori, I did have steak last night. I don't have any potatoes here so I had green beans and sliced tomatoes instead. I have half the steak leftover so maybe I'll stop and get a potato on the way home, unpoked of course. How are your classes going. As I remember you had a drawing class in addition to the line dancing. How did Bill's heart monitor thing do?
Flo, I like cooking with propane, we don't have natural gas here. But last night I broiled a steak in the electric air fryer and it was really good. Hope the roof stuff gets going for you.
Maryz, Sorry you didn't sleep well, hope that you do get a nap today for the festivities tonight. I've decided I'm not going to get a bbq. I thought about bbqing my steak last night and talked myself out of it. I'll just broil. Would have been nice if you had gotten my Costco list. Just a bag of mixed nuts and yogurt.
Lois, glad you found your fan. It is wonderful how fans accomplish so much.
Jana, hope that the proceedure is over by now and you are on your way home.
Judi, your vacation sounds so wonderful. I imagine you sitting in one of those aridandiac chairs with a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses sipping iced tea in bare feet with freshly painted toe nails. It's good to my my vision of you.
Valerie, congrats on the new baby in the family. It's also hot here and time for me to close up the house. It's certainly a/c weather. Hope the tooth ache goes away before you have to call the dentist.
I need breakfast and to make a list of thrift stores. Funny, if I use Edge as my browser it thinks I live in Sacramento and gives me thrift stores in that area. But, if I use Google as my browser it gives me local information.
I hope you all have a fabulous day
Chriss

Valerie, congratulations on the new baby. That's a packed house for sure. I'll have to check out the KT Christmas quilt.
Chriss, 2 out of 5 is pretty good. I bet you are happy that little chair is ready. Now you can do your part of it and Elliott will love it. I stopped taking the drawing class in April. It was too much. Bill finished the monitor, sent it back and hasn't heard a thing. I guess no news is good news. Have fun thrifting.
Judi, have fun at the quilt store.
Jana, so you're back to the original time. Hope all went well.
Lois, we have a couple of tower fans. They are wonderful. I just bought a fan that you charge up. It should be here today.
Maryz, enjoy your company. Yes, I finally feel like sewing again. I haven't worked on the house for 3 weeks. I need a break. I do go up and work in the yard though.
Maryq, hope you arrived at your location safely.
Bill dropped his car off for service this morning, so I picked him up. I came home and walked Jack before it got too hot and then finally had my coffee. It will be an indoor day because of the heat. Supposed to reach 91. Haven't turned on the A/C yet, but will soon. Dinner will be chili.
Have a lovely day.
