Good morning,

CHRISS!! Happy Birthday Girlfriend!! I hope your day today is filled with cake, ice cream, and wishes come true! πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆπŸ’πŸ¦„ On countertop colors I have learned (the hard way) that black isn't good. You will never be able to find your phone or the little black top to your olive oil cruet. And white, or even light cream shows any tiny crumb or fleck of pepper. But all the colors and swirly deisgns in between are beautiful. And good on you for "relish"ing a burger but skipping the milkshake. Next time, you deserve to skip the burger and enjoy the milkshake!

LORI - I looked up the luxury "Paws Up" lodge where your niece is working. OMG! I wanna go! I think we all should go there and meet up and have a sew-in right out in the middle of the pine trees! It's on the beautiful Blackfoot River. Bill's brother lived on the Blackfoot. I always loved visiting him. Tell your niece congratulations! With this job she will always be on vacation! And she has her beautiful little Aussie! One of my favorite breeds. (though they are ALL my favorite breeds!)

MARY Q - oh, the kids did inform Bill he can buy a lot of accessories for his new stove! Now, though, we have one more BIG thing to carry when we travel. The stove we have now has 2 burners, and a griddle, or a BBQ can be set on the burners so all kinds of cooking can be done on it. But this new stove is just a griddle. Is it pencil case season again already?? You will make about 100? How many do you have done so far? Did you get your sewing machine in St. Cloud? And did you find any other things to do there as long as you were making the trip? Groceries? thrift? Fabric? Cemetery hopping?

JANA - glad the SS is all straightened out. I'm anxious to hear when Karlie gets her kitten(s). You know, a whole batch would be fun entertainment. Once again, you've resurrected a memory of my childhood! When I was pretty little we had a litter of 5 kitten. Every evening as we were finishing dinner the kittens would wake up and and start to play in the bottom of a shelving unit Mom had in the dining room. We all sat around the table watching the kitten show for at least 20 minutes. They were so much fun! Better than TV for sure! And while the kittens are all long gone, that shelf is now in my sewing room, stuffed full of fabric! Ironically, much of that bottom shelf is kitten/cat themed fabric!

FLO - I hope Joe gets the care he needs and deserves for all his parts and pieces! And also I hope the roof is done! And the rains have moved in another direction for now. Was this a full new roof or just storm damage repairs?

LOIS - And your poor Bill. My sis is prone to gout and when it hits she has a terrible time and has to use a cane. I hope Bill is feeling better soon.

JUDI - Not too many days left until you leave on your vacation! Sat, July 5th? Have you got your packing/unpacking/repacking done yet or is there still more unpacking/repacking to do? (because I know that's how packing goes!

VAL - have you started to think about your packing yet? I've done a little, but then I'm packing an RV for four months. I will have to pack clothes for 4 seasons.

Yesterday I finished quilting and binding Drew's 6 placemats. They turned out really neat. I will post a picture later this morning. I still have quite a bit of fabric left so I think I'll make a runner for his coffee table. His parents said they will measure it next time they go pick up their mail. Then I was off to the dentist and I survived! BP was about 124/76 when I left home. It was 155/86 (with my cuff) when I got there 15 minutes later. 164/84 with their wrist cuff. So we proceeded. Dr said in anticipation of my appointment he put fresh batteries in his defibrillator! haha! He is so funny! I go back in 2 weeks to have new crown set. But I zigged at the wrong time and my tongue got in the way so I have a nice little painful scrape, and my tongue is all black/blue. I've never had a bruised tongue before. It kind of shocked me when I looked in the mirror this morning.

In the afternoon we went to Crazy Costco. Never seen it so busy even at Christmas. Found a little green Unicorn dress for You Know Who that we couldn't resist. And I circled back to her baby clothes quilt. Hoping to get that big block of her ruffled backside made today. I also have an 11am appointment to get a heart monitor. Ugh. For two weeks. As for our supper, my tongue is quite sore so I'm making a pot chicken rice soup. We'll have toast or English muffin to go with.

Yikes! Got to run. I Meet Across The Road Lori at 7 to walk! I'm gonna be late!

Good Morning up and got the dishwasher emptied and kitchen in order. I still need to decide whats for supper. I am dressed and hair combed I have a lunch with a co worker e worked together in home care. She was a QA person who always found my mistakes,,I found out she was a quilter and we have been friends ever since, She medically retired way before i did. But we keep in touch,,,every now and then we meet for lunch, today is the day. Ken made her a set of tailors clappers I will take to her, we are meeting at a burger place. I guess i dont want a burger ( they are huge 1/2 lb but very good) so I am hoping they have a salad or something lighter,
Yes i have packed and repacked,,,Spent about an hour with DD on the phone hashing over what we should bring and what we already have, She will preorder the food and supplies at the Meijer store up there to pick up on our way. We will drive on own car since she has all the kids and doggies. Yes Pepper and Griz get a vacation too. They are fun and Grizzy loves the water. His little short legs start to "swim" before he even touched the water, Pepper is aloof and cares less about swimming, but she loves to cuddle. ( especially with me)
I did make some more CW blocks and have decided I will take them up to hand stitch while up there,,,Everything else requires too much stuff,,these are ready to stitch with out any further addo. So I can relax on the patio on the water and stitch as much as i want or read 2 books I am taking,,,the kids will be out on the lake with the jet ski . ( arguing about who has had more turns)
Ken is doing better and no new lesions and he has no pain or itching. I am so glad he has such a mild case...'' Ken will get some golf in with the boys,
Tomorrow we will head to my sisters for the 4th picnic.. Family fun.
Chris hope you get to EAT CAKE TODAY Happy Birthday and many many more,,,XXXOOO

Good morning!

It's a great day! It's Chriss's birthday! Happy Birthday! Enjoy your special day!

The kids are off and gone again. Sarah had to load up the bikes in a huge downpour and thunderstorm as they left. Today will probably be another set of thunderstorms this afternoon.

So it's a quiet play time in the Batt Cave day. I got all my patriotic decorations up. Al that is except the bunting, as I haven't found my zip ties to hold it on the deck. Part of today's plan.

Daniel, the only family still here, this weekend, will be by. Kari and Karlie are still searching the shelters for a kitty or two.

So far, no major incidents with fireworks. A good thing.

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning,

Things are getting a little better here Bill is walking on his own I'm happy for that he has 2 Dr appointment s this afternoon so we will be out of the house for a few hours.
I was to hobby lobby to get backing and batting and a few other things and now you only get 30% off and I said to the girl at the counter I will have to put the brakes on with coming here she replied that it was due to the tarriff and I said ok it makes sense.

Judi have a great vacation.
Mary so glad you were able to get your dental work done.
Happy Birthday Chris I hope there is a cake for you today.

Well that's all the news from here.
Have a great day everyone.
Prayers go out to all.

Will be a nice but hot day, then thunderstorms tonight.

Chriss, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY πŸŽ‚

Didn't get out fishing on Tuesday because it was windy and a good thing we didn't yesterday. I was outside with Minnie about 4:30 p.m., came in and found an error message on control panel, AC SURGE, and we were on the inverter. New batteries were running the A/C. I quickly shut off A/Cs. Either the power cord has gone bad or the transfer switch. We are running the Generator and have enough fuel for about 5 days. I'm making calls and figuring out what we need to do. Of course it doesn't help that it's a holiday weekend. They say things come in 3's. I have lost count how many 3's we're on.

Hope your day is going better.
Lyn

Good morning Girls

Looks like another HOT one, so most definitely the AC is on today!

Maryz...Yup, picked up my machine -- stopped at a Thrift Store --bonus --everything in the whole store was 50% off! Found a couple books, a bag to take on the plane that I didn't NEED at all, and a cute pair of capri pants--that actually fit! It's such a toss-up buying clothes at a thrift store as you can't try them on! Came home and got Janome all set up and worked on a few pencil cases. have 22 done so far. Might do a few more today. I was just thinking yesterday--wondering if your BP had settled down enough to get to your DDS appointment. Did it go down a bit when you got home and we able to relax a little? Sorry about the tongue! Soup for dinner sounds like a good idea--something easy so you don't risk biting your tongue!

Judi.... Glad to hear Ken is feeling better---sure would make for a rough vacation with a nasty case of shingles! How fun to connect with an old co-worker! I've been gone from my job for 8 years and I still think of some of my old co-workers and wonder how things are going at the old Pharmacy! The one Pharmacist I did NOT get along with is now President of the whole company, so I retired at the perfect time! Hope you can keep in touch while you are away... but mostly I hope you have a most marvelous relaxing vacation!!

Chriss.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚ Hope you have an awesome day! In your honor I will eat a little mini cupcake (I bought for our neighborhood picnic tomorrow) See what Kind of friend I am---I will risk my blood sugar going up for a cup cake for you!

Jana.... Hope you have a nice quiet weekend--fireworks wise. Does your city put on a fireworks show? Mine used to but I think they gave it up when it got really expensive to buy all the fireworks. In Wisconsin, at Tom & Viv's they have a real show on a barge out on the Mississippi River.

Lois... Glad Bill is doing a bit better. I did see that... Hobby Lobby changing their sale price to 30% off. I don't usually buy fabric there, or haven't for a long time--I usually hit the fabric warehouse (and the one in my garage! :-) ) HL is kind of a dangerous place for me just because of all the other cute things they have---knick knacks that I sure don't need!

Lyn.... Murphy's Law---if something will go wrong... it will go wrong on a Holiday Weekend! with the 4th being a Friday it really messes things up if places are closed on the weekend! Is it super hot up there too?

Well, it's after 10 so I suppose I should get busy. Need to shine up the kitchen and then hit the sewing room. I did start working on some Christmas Snowmen Swap blocks, but need to go out to the garage to find some more Christmas Prints---should do that before it gets any hotter out there.

May you all have a day that leaves you with great memories

Fireworks - oh yes every city here in the valley, as well as the whole flippin' state does a firework show. Herriman's is with our Towne day celebration, last week. And the entire population of the state goes ape s*** too. Aerial fireworks are legal here, a few restrictions on where in the neighborhood you can launch. My house is in a no launch location, but the end of my street, it's legal. Go figure! So I can see from my deck, across the valley to the Wasatch mountains. 20 miles away, north to Salt Lake and South too! Every which way and see tons of fireworks for several hours! I know what a war zone sounds like! Just be here on the 4th and Pioneer Day!

Good morning everyone. About 60* now but will likely get to 80, possibly more. Haven't turned the AC on yet but probably will soon.

A few chores have been accomplished today including mopping kitchen and dining room. Vaccuumed a bit. Dishes are done. Next on the agenda is to pick out the fabric for this weeks Moda Blockhead block then work on my stars a bit. I have to remember to go to the bank today as they will be closed tomorrow. I left my Ryan's Sampler for the quilter yesterday. The first row of my Go Cube quilt is put together. I should get out to the shed before the temps rise too much. I did pull a back out of it the other week but I think it's too Asian looking. I am sure I have a blue 1800 in there somewhere. Need to clean things up where my cutting table is. I am using the cabinet for the M17 right now as a cutting table. Need to start using the cutting table so I can put the machine back up.

Maryz I have not actually packed anything but have thought I should start a list. I think of things but if I don't write them down, sure enough, something will get left behind. We are looking into the possibility of a house sitter but not sure that will happen. We have a friend who we would trust to do it but he has health concerns and was admitted to the hospital again last night. He is also facing a surgery. May just have to have the neighbor check on things.

Chriss HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Good job on passing up those milkshakes. I have started just ordering water also. I used to order iced tea but then I wouldn't drink but about 1/4 of it. No sense in paying if you aren't going to drink it Please eat a piece of cake for me!

Judi when you figure out dinner, let me know, I have no dinner plans of of right now. Lunch with a friend is always fun. I have two I need to call as we are behind in our lunches.

Jana not sure if you heard on your news but there was a wharehouse for fireworks here in Yolo county that blew up. 7 people are unaccounted for. Multiple towns cancelling fireworks this year. I am hoping they find these people safe but common sense tells me they won't. The picture we see on TV are pretty bad.

Lois I hardly ever go to Hobby Lobby. I didn't know they had a 40% off deal. It is rare that I get fabric outside of a quilt store.

Lyn you are right, seems as though lately you have had multipe 3's. I hope you can figure it out. Monday is 5 days, so maybe it will work out. I don't supposed there's anyway to get more fuel.

Maryq counting the days!

Well for now, I need to get back to chores so I can get everything done. Have a wonderful day!
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today. Hot but great, a lot like me. ha ha ha.

Today is my happy birthday. When Marilyn was little she would say "it's my happy birthday" on her birthday, then she'd ask if it was your happy birthday.

Last night was the farmers market for peaches and then to dinner for $10 burgers and fries. It's crowded at the restaurant, but they are sort of quick.

I've done one load of laundry this morning, it's hanging on the line. And I have finally accessed my medical portal on my laptop. I had to load a different browser so now I have Edge and Chrome. Not overjoyed with my cardio report so I have a call in to see what we need to do next.

Today I will make a salad to take to my son's tomorrow, I bought different bottled dressings to go with it. And if I feel like it I might make some deviled eggs.

Maryz I skipped the milkshake yesterday but devoured the fries. Bill will have fun with his grill. Hope you weren't too late for your walk.

Judi, I would order that burger without a bun and on top of a salad. Hope whatever you order it will be tasty, nice to have a meal with a friend. I will have cake because in a few minutes I am going to the store and going to buy myself a steak and one of those little squares of carrot cake. Yum

Jana, your kids are always on the go. Hope that kitty gets there soon, I imagine you have an anxious little girl just waiting to make it purr.

Lois, Seems the last few times I have been in any store I haven't bought too much. Hobby Lobby is the closest thing to a fabric store we have in my area, but I haven't found anything I really wanted there lately. Glad Bill is getting around better.

Lyn, you've had a lot of stuff go on with that house on wheels lately. Hope this last issue resolves itself and you have no more trouble.

Maryq, thanks for having cake with me. You are a pal for sure. It's dang near 10am here and 85 degrees outside. a/c has been on for days.

Lori, thanks. I think it's going to be a great day, tomorrow will be even better. It's the day the country realizes I was born and shoots off fireworks to celebrate.

Valerie, I always order water. Some places charge $4 for anything that isn't water, crazy.

Today I am 62 years old. I am thankful for so much. It really is good to be me, I hope you all feel that same way about you. I appreciate each one of you for so many reasons. Thank you for being my friends.

Dinner tonight will be a steak, a baked potato and for dessert, a little cake and perhaps some ice cream. You all have a fab day
