Good morning Busy day today I have to prep and freeze these peaches, 2 Days and they are absolutely delicious,,But I will freeze most of them and make a 9x13 peach cobbler...I freeze the cobbler in serving size containers too. It is so good. I have my nephew coming to spray for carpenter bees out in the lean-to they are making burrows all over the place. He also sprays a barrier around all my windows and doors to keep critters out, Nothing that will kill bees we are very careful about that,
I need to call my sister to find out what to bring for the 4th of july picnic and get my clothes together since we are leaving for the lake on saturday. We will be gone for 7 days, I need the vacation and spending it with the kids is always fun even if they are teenagers and have their own agenda Ken of course will wait til saturday morning and throw some stuff in a suitcase and complain all week about what he forgot. I do know the golf clubs are already out but nothing else. have a wonderful day...

Good morning, Everyone!

July! Already! The months are flying by. How's your Christmas shopping/sewing coming along??

LYN - I hope your birthday was nice and you got your special Lyn Day filled with all the things you love. Thanks for clarifying the realtor lingo. "Bi-level" isn't a common term here so I just wasn't sure.

CHRISS - I'm excited for your new kitchen to happen. And yes, before and after pictures, please!!

MARY Q - the old saying, "You're a good man to wake up to, Mr. Coffee" isn't necessarily true at your house! Our coffee won't drip unless the pot is situated purrfectly in the machine. If I'm packing a suitcase for a trip, I usually start the week before. But I start my lists before that. However, I find if I start too early, I end up packing too much, then I spend the last day or two taking things out! If you have easy access to washer/dryer, then I would only take enough clothes for half the trip. With both Evie and Bren going off to college will your kids be empty nesters then or do they have one more? Are they going to the same college? Does Evie know what she wants to study?

LOIS - how is your Bill??

LORI - I "decided" on 3 different blocks before I made my final decision. I kept changing my mind. You and I were weather twins yesterday. We were 86* at 4pm but I think we gained another degree after that.

JUDI - your peach cobbler sounds so delicious! I hope we can get some good ones here soon. Maybe a peach cobbler would be a good thing to take to your sister's July 4 party. A week at the lake! Heaven! Will you be in a motel? B&B? Will we still be able to hear from you? Bill is a last minute packer, too. Drives me nuts, but he says he doesn't want to peak too soon.

JANA - So, did your gr grand kitten arrive yesterday? Did she bring a playmate with her?? And does she have an official name yet - official as in chosen by Karlie?

FLO - I hope the storm held off for you.

Yesterday was all about sewing Christmas swap blocks. Then TV work doing a little embroidered embellishing. We shared a grilled steak for supper. And potato packets on the grill with onions and cheese. I was given a jar of truffle salt so I sprinkled them with a little of that. I went lightly because I've never used it before, but I think I'll bump it up next time. This is a new product to me so need to Google how to use it.

My sister didn't have her foot surgery after all. They took another look at her XR's and decided she wouldn't benefit from surgery so they are just keeeping the boot on her for 6 more weeks. She is happy, happy, happy.

Today - nothing much happening. I think I'll start quilting placemats. We need to go to Costco but have to time it - we're almost out of lettuce but I want melons fresh for July 4. We're going to grill burgers tonite and have corn on the cob. We're supposed to be 85* again today but back into the 70's after this. The 70's are more to my liking.

I almost beat the roosters up this morning. And yes, they are supposedly banned within city limits. We are not in city limits, but the limits run down our property line and the roosters are just over the fence. I love hearing them crow. Even at 3:30am!

Have a fab day!

Morning
Storm did hold off. Roofer bumped us up on list, not sure when he will be here, but it can't be soon enough. Joe went up on roof last night and shifted tarps around. Today he will resecure things and add some tar paper. He is very sore and please pray to ease his shoulder pain. He tore something a long time ago and VA won't do anything. In 1-1/2 yrs when our Medicare thru sheriff dept kicks in maybe it can be taken care of.
Time to get moving, coffee pot is calling
Flo

Good morning!

It's a beautiful day here! The weather patterns have shifted a bit and we are getting some monsoon rain this week. A bit early, but we need the rain. We have a couple of huge, lightning strike started fires down south and the firefighters need the extra help. In fact, one of the fires is named for a great grandfather of ours. He settled in that area. Some get hurricanes naming, we got a fire. :)

Got my uglies under control, a good thing. BIL called with news of his eyes. The Dr in the California , the one at one of the largest hospital systems, missed the diagnosis completely! There is no macular problem, but a very, very minor, past stroke, that caused damage and a nerve inflammation. BIL is glad for the second opinion. At the California hospital system, the second opinion, would be another in house dr. We have dealt with this hospital system with other family members and never had any happy results. So BIL will be up more often to visit, a good thing.

My day should be quiet. One load of laundry, 2 shirts to iron and let my 2 y/o out to vacuum. I'll be in the Batt Cave.

Sunday afternoon, sitting around the table, visiting, I spotted a coyote in the horse pasture, just over our fence.. I swear it was a coyote, but Matt says it was a fox.. Dirty mangy, scroungy brown, bushy tail, no red. It went under a old flat bed trailer to escape the heat and take a nap. Whatever it was, it just needs to keep moseyning on out of these parts, back up into the hills! At least it wasn't a cougar! We have those too.

No kitty. Someone got there, just ahead of Kari and Karlie and adopted our kitty. So Karlie is still looking for just the right new best friend. It won't be long. No matter who thinks the new kitty will be their friend, it will become Daniel's kitty. He's the cat whisperer and all kitties love him the best

Well I need to get going, day is moving fast,
Hugs,
Jana.

It's going to get hot, AC is already on!

Good morning, ugh night last night. Couldn't sleep. I wish I knew why that happens.

Ryan's Sampler is done, picture is posted in photos. I will take to the long armer tomorrow when I go for the Go Cube class. Today I will be getting things cut for that. May start sewing on the sashing on some of the blocks.

Maryz the baby quilt is for a lady who used to be my patient. She has her first great grandchild on the way. It a girl, due late October. Just pinwheels so should go fast. I have half of them made already.

No Open Sews posted for this month yet. I looked at the calendar and doesn't look like there is many opportunies. Something scheduled almost daily. Maybe a few at the end of the month.

Today I will do my floors and run the vaccum, along with whatever sewing I can accomplish. Other than that, nothing new.

Off I go for more coffee, Have a great day all.

Good Morning Girls

As much as I hate it, I think I am going to have to turn on the AC. High of 85* today, but it's the humidity that will get to me today! Everything is sticky!

Judi... OH yes---teenagers sure do have their own agenda & opinions! I made the mistake of getting into a somewhat political conversation with Evie! It did not end well! Let's just say we are at opposite ends of the spectrum! Is the kid's camper parked right on or near a lake? Do they go fishing etc?

Maryz... The only thing better than having my coffee all ready when I wake up---would be if some handsome man brought me a cup! Bren and Evie are both going to South Dakota School of Mines--for some kind of engineering program---there are several to choose from - Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc. Not sure which field they will go into. Yup, they will have an empty nest. Kris is already planning on crying all the way from SD when they take the kids out!! I bet your sis is happy she didn't have to have the surgery after all!! I'm guess they said- "wear this boot" and come back in 6 weeks!

Flo... Will think of Joe today... especially with him crawling up on the roof!!! Hope your roofing crew can come soon! Was Joe a Sheriff than he can do Medicare through them?

Jana... Glad your BIL got a 2nd opinion! His vision is okay to drive? So that he can come visit more often. Sounds like you enjoy his company. So your claim to fame is a fire? I am so sad for the firefighters killed in Idaho---a purposely set fire so they could be ambushed.

Valerie... I peeked at Ryan's Sampler before I came here this morning! It's gorgeous and looks HUGE! SO many interesting parts to look at! When you are done with your floors, wanna come do mine? I'm trying wait until the last minute to wash & Vacuum so I can come home to a clean house!

Chriss... Wow, it sure sounds like you have quite a remodeling project going on! I had a built-in oven when we lived in northern MN (1982) and I loved it and wanted to do it when we built here in 1986, but it just wouldn't fit the kitchen. Oh I too would love to see before and after pictures!

Lyn.... Did you have a nice birthday? I hope there was cake. Have you been able to get out fishing much? Oh, I am so a "list maker" too!! Hence, my supply of spiral notebooks!! I made a little case to take my Ipad with me, with a pocket for a small spiral notebook--to make lists of everything I'll need to do when I get home!

I think the gremlins got in my house again last night----which means it's clean up time here. I bought a fan to put in my bedroom and need to put it together so Shawn can maybe install it while I'm gone. There's a pile of fabric to put together for pencil cases---the sooner I get my messes cleaned up the sooner I can start sewing!

Wishing you all a Great and COOL Tuesday!

Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦

No fishing, wind 14 gusting to 21 mph. White caps on the bay.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes!! The day didn't go quite as I had hoped. Stuff had to be done and it was 4 when I finally turned my machine on to play with the alphabets. The place we were going to go eat is closed on Mondays, so I had some beef stir fry meat thawed and had frozen veggies to put in it. I was up late and took the Mandolin out and practiced a few minutes. I really do want to play it, so I'm going to try and set a goal to practice every day and starting on my birthday seemed like a good start.

Hope you have a good day.
Lyn

Judi, we had a peach tree a few years back. It would be loaded with more peaches than we could eat or give away. I froze a lot of them and they are just as delicious when you are ready to eat them.

Maryz, I have several choices for my block as well. Grilled steak sounds yummy. I may have to pick up a few this week. Glad you sister didn't have to have surgery.

Maryq, Bill tends to forget to put the pot under the maker once in a while. It makes a big mess.Jana I use a French press, so that never happens to me.

Jana, there's a big difference between a fox and coyote. I bet it was a coyote. Hope it goes back to where it came from. They roam our street here at night and hide during the day in overgrown shrubs. Bummer about the kitty. I'm sure she'll find the right one soon.

Valerie, have you been using your new fancy machine?

Lyn, I wanted to learn the Mandolin, but never did. It's such a beautiful instrument.

Chriss, here I thought you were done with the house, but I guess not. Seems there is always something.

I walked the boys this morn when it was nice and cool. Today is going to stay in the low 80's, so I'll keep the house open. I had to take my glasses in to be fixed. The drill mounts that did fractured and were getting worse by the day. They will fix them for free since it's only been 5 months. So I have my back up glasses on and the prescription is a little different. I'll adjust in a day or so. We're going to go out for a late lunch when Bill gets back from golf.

I talked to my sister for 3 hours yesterday. My niece moved to Missoula Montana this year for a job and she is loving it there. She just go a new puppy that is so adorable.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon, it's been a busy but productive day today.

This morning, I went to the parents' house and was there about 7:30. Dad went to the retired fireman's breakfast, and I cleaned their house. The breakfast is always the first Tuesday of the month so I told dad that it would be a great day to do housework.

I'm trying to get into my patient portal to see if there are any biopsy results yet. My lab work came back without any issues. And now my computer won't let me log onto my portal, I have to use my phone.

Jana, your coyote getting under a trailer for shade made me laugh. The field next to mine there are two horses, a donkey and a sheep. The sheep and one of the horses are friends and the sheep stands under the horse for shade.

Lori, I'm done with the house, it's my dad who comes up with new projects. This one will just be pulling out the non working wall oven and new counter tops. I'm thinking Corian because it's seamless where Formica isn't. I'm not going to ask dad for anything crazy expensive; it's just a kitchen.

I think I will try to figure out my doctor portal, I don't like to do things on my phone. Moose and I just walked down to get the mail, not sure what dinner will be, when I got home from the parents I made myself a big salad. I'm not very hungry.

Good night all
Chriss
