Cloudy morning, had rain overnight.
We'll head down the Mtn this morning. So, time to all sing, On The Road Again. Heading for St Francis, KS.
Valerie, It does take time to adjust to the CPAP. These days, my biggest is that I wake up to the noise because it's slipped a little and no longer a good seal. But, most times that I wake up is because Garry's is way off and very noisy! I got mine in Sept of 2021, Garry got his last September. So I did get a few good years of sleep. Lol
MaryZ, I hope Bill's results come back quickly so you can make your summer plans.
MaryQ, Yes, I'm taking the new machine to Canada. I will pick up the 440QE when we come thru in the fall and head to Texas. And, yes, I do look forward to the day we no longer travel, but it will be one of those double edge swords, missing travel, having fun in the Cabin. That new chapter of life may be fast approaching. I hope your new student catches on quickly. It's very nice of you to teach her. I may be in your shoes when I get back to the Texas house. The wife of the man who put the skirting on cabin wants to learn to quilt.
Judi, Sadly, the 570 has only been on the day I bought it. You will probably get to play with yours before I get a chance. As for my favorite place, it's Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada. We haven't traveled across the country like Valerie plans to do, we just make a zig zaggy circle to the same places.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Lyn

Re: Thursday May, 29, 2025
Good morning,
We were 83* yesterday, and this morning we're 56* and raining. Tomorrow is to be 77*. Usually we ease into our weather changes, but not this week!
LYN - happy and safe travels! I hope the weather and travel gods smile upon you! I think I'd have that beautiful new machine wherever I did the most sewing. At least until the warranty runs out.
JANA - well, we watched your Salt Lake Bees last night. It was a fun night. After the first two innings, Tacoma was behind 5-0. We left at the beginning of the 9th inning and Tacoma was ahead 19-5. Great game!
LOIS - I went many years and many quilts without keeping one for us. But that changed and now I'm overwhelmed with quilts in this house! But they are like my children and you don't give away your children. I, for one, would love to see a photo of your living room once you have your sunflower quilt and your wall hanging displayed. I just finished quilting two wall hangings on my Bernie. I wear gardening gloves (with the rubberized palms and fingers) and it helps so much. Clean ones, of course!
JUDI - I hope today is the day! Is there any place Sophia could take sewing lessons to learn basic clothing construction? When my little sis and I were 9 and 10 mom took us to the Singer shop in Tacoma for 6 weeks (once a week) for lessons and we learned about facings, darts, set in sleeves, gathered skirts, zippers, and hems. But I haven't seen such lessons offered anywhere anymore. When I was a junior in high school I took Home Ec all afternoon every day at the Voc School across the street from my high school. (kind of like Running Start). Yes, the game we went to see is the AAA club for the Mariners - The Tacoma Rainiers. It was way more fun than going to the Mariners game. We were 6 rows up, and home plate was right in front of us! Our tickets gave us reserved parking, free beer, wine, pop, water, and baseball snacks. The food was regular price. I sure wish I could go to that sale with you! I'd need to build another room onto my house for everything I'd probably drag home!
MARY Q - we took your pro tip and waited until third inning to get food. Only I got pizza and waiting on the pizza wasn't such a great idea. It was no longer fresh. But for those who got hot dogs, yum! Nice to have a sewing student. She wants to learn to sew but doesn't have a machine? That was the same with some of my quilting students last winter - 17 students and at least 5 of them had no machine and had never sewn before.
VAL - sorry you've been sick again. I hope your insides are behaving now. Are you using Civil War fabrics for your new UGRR? I might have one extra block from mine if you need it. It's in my orphan block box. I made a Lori Holt Farm Girl Vintage quilt a few years back, and while camping with my sister she got really sick so I sent the quilt home with her so she had a "blankie" to snuggle under on the 2-day drive home. And I never saw that quilt again. I had to make myself another one.
LORI - I hope your sew-jo returns one day soon. But in the meantime, sounds like you have your plate pretty full.
CHRISS - what's on your docket for the day?
Yesterday I went for my dental appt and pulled a JANA. My BP was so high they sent me home, told me to see my dr, and come back next week. Arghhh. My BP has been jumping around all month long due to a variety of reasons. Then toss me into a dentist's chair and it's going to shoot right up! I am a dental-phobe. By the time I got home it had dropped 30 points and within the hour, was back in normal range. I even had the chiropractor take it for me. And I've been in a couple of dr offices in the past few weeks so they know it's been up/down. I'll get evaluated again just for BP AFTER all the other factors affecting it settle down, hopefully in June. So, I didn't do much yesterday. A little cross-stitching while sitting out on the deck. The development company's realtor stopped by again and talked to us. We told her if they doubled their offer we might think about it. Her eyes didn't go wide when we said it so maybe it will fly. I told her we were firm on this. IF we do sell, they said they would give us 2 years to find a new place and move. There is a long list of pros to selling to them. And a short list of cons. So, maybe big changes coming up in our lives. The truth is, it's getting hard for us to take care of this place, and it's only getting harder. We don't want to move, but the reality is, it's the smart thing to do.
Today I don't have any appointments! Yay! Between Bill, me, and Scottie we've had 31 appointments in May. Tomorrow I have 2. Chiro at 9 and an MRI on my lower spine at noon so I'm going to enjoy today! I might start assembling my Ohio Star - I made the blocks while in TX last winter. Though I really should do some dusting, and maybe give the bathrooms a lick and a promise.
We have leftover beef burgandy in the fridge so we will reheat that and have it over rice tonite for supper.
Tonite, when you finally sit down, count the good things in your day. I hope everyone can name at least 5!

Re: Thursday May, 29, 2025
Good morning!
Well, we're hot! Supposed to reach the first 90 of the season today. Good to open windows for a time, close them up, but able to have them open all night!
Have you noticed all the downsizing of foods. Of course you have. But one glaring one I noticed yesterday was Cheetos. I have a addiction to them and the orange fingers. Well, Cheetos have cut back on the cheese coating, not nearly as much as in the past. How dare they! How are my orange fingers going to cope? LOL!
Matt pulled a page from our family history last night. When our kids were little, we flew to Disneyland and didn't tell them. Got 9n the BART train, then the airplane and then a shuttle bus to the Disneyland hotel. Sarah and Daniel had the surprise figured out by the time we got to the airport, Matt hadn't. Matt could read, but still didn't figure out, even with the big sign on the shuttle. Matt finally asked me as the bus pulled into the Disneyland hotel parking, are we going to Disneyland? The whole bus erupted in laughter. Well, last night, Matt and Crenda loaded up their kids and used a ruse that Matt missed the turn and ended up in the airport parking lot . Haven't heard the rest of the adventure yet, they'll be home Sunday morning. One last trip before Andrew leaves next week. I'll get texts and pictures throughout the day. Especially when they're eating good sourdough bread at California Adventure!
A few uglies and we may clean up a garage, or maybe head out for a ride, we'll see... Then again, I may sew...
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls
From where I sit at my computer, I can see my front door --- so I am sitting here watching for the dishwasher repair man to come and fix my stupid dishwasher! My little trick that I did last week.... well, it ain't working! So I decided to just bit the bullet and get some professional help! (I'm not opposed to getting professional help when needed!
)
Lyn.... That certainly will be a tough decision to make, to find the right time and circumstance to stay put for a bit, and put your traveling shoes away. I would imagine that a lot would depend on Garry's health. How would you feel about kind of staying put for one year, then traveling the next? Like a year off at home? My DB & SIL stayed in MN this last year, but are getting ready to travel again. Chances are they will be in Los Indios again for this winter.
Lois... Laundry going here too!! I wash going to try to sneak by one more day, until I realized that the hamper was over flowing. Do you do a little wash every day? I'm a once a week gal! Only that last load of the day, doesn't often make it's way back to the bedroom!! I knew a gal once, that when she built a new house, she had the laundry right in a huge walk in closet near their bedroom. Wash, dry, sort and right back in the built in dresser drawers! Now that's way to go!
Maryz... YIKES!!! What's up with your BP??? So you didn't get any DDS work done at all yesterday? I'm not a fan of the DDS either, but you must really hate him/her if your BP sky rockets!!!
It will be interesting to see what the developer comes back with for a price for your house, and if you have a 2 year window to actually move--that would certainly give you a lot of time to find the perfect place. Maybe Texas? I'd say move to MN, but things aren't any better here than in WA!!!
My sewing student was going to borrow a machine from her MIL, but I pulled out my old Elna and sent it home with her with some 5" squares to practice on. She has a HUGE box full of Army Cammo fatigues from her 21 years of Army service that she wants to make a queen size quilt out of. I also gave her the task of cutting apart the shirts into the biggest size pieces she can.
Jana... What a fun treat for the kids to have a surprise trip to Disneyland!!! Back in 1973, DH and I spent a night of our honeymoon at the Disneyland Hotel! My Auntie lived in Long Beach at the time and met us for dinner!
Judi.... I'd happily give away one of KC's old machines, but they really are hhmmm how do you say "crappy" machines! So very basic, that they aren't very much fun to work on at all!! If I had to start with one of those, I'd never want to sew at all! I'll keep them for back up, but they really are pretty useless. SO when do you get your new machine and what is taking so long????
I certainly don't need any more fabric, man I wish I could join you on the FART !!!
Repair man is here!! Gotta run

JANA - the kids are going to have such a wonderful time! Though I always feel that the anticipation is half the fun, so I probably would have blabbed to my kids a couple weeks in advance. You DID notice the baseball score of the game we went to last night, didn't you?
MQ - I hope your dishwasher gets fixed. Our old one wasn't working well and it turned out that the filter was clogged. But cleaning the filter in that machine was a b---h. And we were thankful when it finally bit the dust. Oh, and my BP this morning was 127/77. I'm taking it now twice a day so I have a good record and will message my dr before my next dental appt - June 4th. I do love my dentist. I just wish we could stop meeting like this and go out for coffee instead. He's retiring at the end of the year and I'm really going to miss him.
I hear Bill in the quilting room, working on my Star Silhouette. I see binding and label in my near future.

Good Day my friends I got caught up in the kitchen and doing some laundry this morning then I realized I needed to reset some passwords and get some appt made...It is now 1130 and I just setting down to see what you all are up do/
No call yet, I did talk to her and she says it has shipped and today would be the day,,,but we all know how shipping goes, So I will just wait.
Havent done much on the long arm I got a few passes done and of course I had to complicate things with patterns and it will take a lot longer...than just a plain old meander,
Guild meeting was fun last night we all sit in a big circle of chair around tables and have a lot of discussions nothing formal,,,Last night we talked about our biggest BOO BOOs and we all talked about how we got started in quilting...Everyone know I got started with Eleanor Burns first quilt in a day.. and we also talked about our favorite quilts. it was very fun.
Well I am off to do some errand and drop off a loaf of bread to the kids...I baked this morning,,,Then to try and straightened out a Rx issue at the pharmacy,,,I tried calling them and got some robot call and couldnt make AI understand what I needed,,,so in person for me...and I need to pick up ken some after shave,,
Home again to maybe get a bit of quilting done before Ken comes home and needs me to follow him to the repair shop to drop off his car,,,We might end up with sandwiches and soup today.
Hope you all have a great day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo

Re: Thursday May, 29, 2025
Good morning, it's going to be a beautiful day today. hot and beautiful.
Yesterday's class wasn't what I thought it would be. It had nothing to do with Alzheimer's, but mental issues like self harm, depression and the like. The first aid for mental health part was ab out sending someone to a professional who could help. It was for healthcare workers and not my friend and me. We left and went to lunch. Today's class is about Alzheimer's and will be much more informative.
Lyn, glad you like Eddie, It amazes me that Kaylyn is old enough to date, I must have blinked. I run an oscilating fan in my room while I sleep for the background noise. If I fail to turn it on I also hear my CPAP machine and can't get to sleep.
Maryz, nice to have a pain free day. glad your procedures are working. I bet that if Bill's scan had come out badly they would have called you already. I laughed when you said your sister gave you dragonflies, you should have told her you liked gold bricks. I'm also a heater upper when it comes to the microwave. I'm hoping that this year is the year that we both get fixed and back to good health. Moving would be a big step but I agree, it's probably a wise thing to do if all the criteria lines up.
Lori, so nice to be limited to the amount of garbage cans you fill each week. That means you must take a break until after they are picked up. I'm also planning a new stove situation. Dad has plans but I also think he is realizing that it's just a lot of work. My idea is that things are fine the way they are, his idea is that he wants to do this or that, he's my dad, not much else can be said.
Valerie, Yep, made chix parm last night. It was pretty darn good I must say. And there is plenty leftover for tonight too. I've told my son everything healthwise for me. The other day I told my dad what was going on and he said he had the same ringing in the ears that I have. We both hear it mostly when we wake up. You really are doing a lot of fun projects. Glad the CPAP is going better for you, have you checked with PG&E to see if you can get the medical baseline discount? Mine is about $40 off of my bill each month.
Maryq, yay for your sister, so wonderful to get a non cancer diagnosis. I like your friends idea of laundry near the bedroom. smart. Glad your friend is on her way to making a quilt. She might just get hooked and make a second one. Funny, I was also looking out over my driveway as I type, The man coming to get my garbage has come and gone.
Judi, wish I could go with you to the $5 a yard sale, so fun. Sorry you sprung a leak, hopefully it was an easy fix. I think soup and sandwiches sounds wonderful.
Lois, so nice that Olivia takes good care of your hair, every morning I look in the mirror and think of how badly I need a hair cut
Jana, I'm sure the kids will have so much fun at the happiest place on earth. It's been years since I've gone
I need to get moving. my day seems to have faded away and it's almost time for me to head to my class. I need to put some breakfast in my belly. Dinner tonight will be leftover chix parm.
You all have a fabulous day

Yes, Maryz I saw the score. BUT, it's not really my team. You see, the Bees are the AAA club for the Angels. They rehab there stars here, but I am a Giants fan, though and through. So if it were the Sacramento Rivercats, I'd be upset. But is wasn't. Notice, RiverCATS,
Then again Judi's Detroit TIGERS, another cat, just beat up the Giants for the last three games. We lost all three games! Now the Giants are going to d8ne on cat food, fish, the Marlins!

Chriss, hope the class today is more informative to what you're looking for.
Judi, I first saw Eleanor Burns on Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson. It used to be a show on HGTV in the morning. That's how I got my start quilting. Once I got Eleanor's books, I was hooked. She is such a good teacher/writer.
Maryq, hope the repair guy was able to fix the dishwasher.
Jana, we wouldn't tell Jonathan we were going to Disneyland or anywhere until the day of the event.
He would drive us crazy with his excitement. I know the kids will have fun. Disneyland is a 12 minute drive from our house.
Maryz, you were warmer than us in the south yesterday. We had clouds all day and it was cool. So glad your treatments helped get you better. I don't mind going to the dentist. I love to have my teeth cleaned. You've had a busy month. And yes I have plenty to do, but it's not fun.
Lyn, safe travels. I like traveling, but as much as you. I also prefer to fly.
It's another cloudy morning, but supposed to heat up this afternoon and be hot for a few days. I need to copy some paperwork and get it to the lawyers office today. I also have some errands I need to do and should also dust and vacuum. Probably not going to get it all done today. Bill is at the doctors office getting a heart monitor. He's been having irregular beats for a while now. Hopefully it will be nothing serious.
Have a lovely day.
