Good morning,

JUDI - the kids are certainly growing up! Has Sophia been working on her yellow dress at all? Will say a prayer for Jeff's dad. How old is he, do you know? I sure hope your machine comes in today. Have you started quilting your quilt yet?

LYN - your "linner" sounded tasty yesterday. I hope you get a chance to at least try your machine before you leave for MO. Just to make sure all your parts and pieces are there if nothing else. $22 is quite an overcharge on your grocery bill! Overcharges seem to be all too common at our grocery store. We have to keep a close eye on our sales slips.

JANA - fun to visit with old friends. Hope you waved to Chriss as you went by her road! What were you and the batts and squirrels working on in The Cave yesterday?

CHRISS - good news that you are feeling good again. I think you should let your son know about your episode. And all your medical stuff. I doubt he would feel bothered. First of all, he should know what is going on with you. Secondly, if it were reversed, wouldn't you want to know about HIS health? And no more news on our house other than it was a very low offer. If they come back with an offer double that, yes, we would sell. But we're going to wait and let them come to us. We are in a good position - they want our property much more than we want to sell our property.

LORI - I'm glad Mr. Orange Kitty has a good home and regular meals, but I was kinda hoping he would be your new cat. But maybe we can work on the little Tortie , . . I forgot you were doing BeWitched, too. There's no rush. Halloween happens every year. I'm not feeling the sewing room lately either. All I'm doing these last few weeks is finishing up some UFO's. No new project is pushing its way into my brain yet. I do have a list of ideas to work on but none of the ideas are nagging at me yet.

LOIS - will you put your sunflower quilt on your bed and the wall hanging on the wall when they are both done? A light summery look to any room! It's good to step outside our comfort zone now and then, and those curved ruler project certainly do that for us! I hope your hubby's dr appt goes well today. We are still waiting on my Bill's thyroid biopsy.

MARY Q - what did you do yesterday?

I finished my 30x40 inch Posh Witch wall hanging. It turned out cute but I have no idea what to do with it. Just add it to the pile I guess. I also did five loads of laundry. Today is chiropractor and acupuncture. My acupuncturist left so I'll be seeing a different person today. I hope I like her. Also, I plan to wash sheets and towels, and big doin's here - it's time to switch from flannel to cotton sheets. If there's more time in my day I have my little 18" cat/pumpkin wall hanging to quilt and bind. I guess it could also be a table topper. Bill loaded my Star Silhouette onto the long arm. I think he's going to quilt it with a star/meander pattern, maybe starting today. We'll see what the weather is doing. If it's nice, he'll work on outside chores. If it's chilly or rainy, he quilts.

Supper tonite is going to be grilled chicken, leftover cheese tortellini reheated in alfredo sauce, and salad. My beef burgandy last night wasn't bad. We have leftovers of that for tomorrow night.

Saying prayers for everyone who needs them today.

Good morning!

Well, it's one of those days, Grumpy Gus is on a complaining binge, so I'll hide, somewhere! Maybe a LQS, that could cost money!

Kids are back. School has this week and a day or two next week, before they're done. All learning and testing are finished for the year. The kids are just marking time due to state law of required days in class. My grands are chomping at the it to be done.

My upstairs uglies are done, including laundry. Now to finish the family area in the Batt Cave. The rest of the mess is Mr G's railroad area. No baseball game until later this afternoon. So the bats and I will see what the squirrels have up their sleeves. Still waiting on my SS money to be deposited. I'm all approved to get it, just waiting on their side to get done.

Well, off to hide,
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Hope you all had a good Memorial Day! For about a minute the other day I thought I might go down to Fort Snelling where my folks are, but being a holiday it was quite a crowded event with state "dignitaries" (I heard) so I will go another quiet day. It's right near the MSP airport, so it's a drive from home.

I did type a nice long note yesterday but as I hit "submit" for some reason, I got logged out and my post disappeared. But that time I had to get in gear and go check on Miss Grace and return the embroidered towels to old neighbor--and of course we had to chat for a bit. Came home and chased a few squirrels---put borders on a table topper I made last fall, had to unload d/w and wash all dishes by hand. I have a call into an appliance repair company ! Basically I just spent the afternoon doing what I usually do--dashing from one project to another. Katie, Connie and Gary & Peggy and I--neighbors in my little "quad" had an impromptu potluck picnic outside--Peggy Grilled burgers & made potato salad, I made tuna salad and brought some fruit, Katie brought fruit some chips. It was kind of fun to be able to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful day! We decided we should all do it again, even if we just sit outside in the evening for a chat.

Judi...As I putter around the house today, I'll send some prayers for Jeff's Dad. You know, I think it's kind of amazing how little miracles happen when we all join in a prayer or two now and then. My favorite saying is "Where ever two or more are gathered....."

Lois... If you like curve piecing... have ever tried a drunkards path? A while back Valerie did a lotto block of a DP. I'd never done curved and I have to say it was kind of fun... a bit of a challenge, but I now have a full quilt top! Who knows when I will ever finish it.

Maryz.... You are just now taking off your flannel sheets? I don't think I own a set of flannel sheets any more, I just pile on quilts! Do you use a top sheet? or just blankies? I've heard more and more people that don't use tops sheets, only a bottom. I sure don't want to be washing blankets all the time! Do you ever pray for rainy days so Bill has to stay in and quilt for you?

Jana... Here's a thought, make a little trip to the LQS and when you get home, hand the receipt to Mr. G and say "Here's what you get for being so grumpy" But then again, like most men, he probably won't learn the intended lesson.

Chriss.... I will reiterate what Maryz said about letting your son know what's going on with you!!! The vice-versa is true---how upset would you be if you son had a health issue he didn't share with you. Are you waiting on more tests? Will you be able to go visit soon--perhaps that would be a good time to have a little "health conversation" . Towels turned out great.. I'll post a little photo at the bottom. I love my friend, but she usually only calls me when she needs something--and I've discovered politics is NOT a good subject of conversation! so we have decided to avoid that!

Lori.... I had to chuckle at the 3x5" disks!! I have box full of them too I just can't make myself throw away. Back in 2000 when I went to Ireland, I had all the photos (regular 35mm camera) printed out of course, and since the technology was so new, they could put on diskettes as well. So I have a box full of prints and disks! Even tho I have copied all the photos to a flash drive! Do you know what info is on the disks? I bought an external disk drive just to be able to see the photos!

I've put all the blocks together for the Wing It pattern from MSQ so today I'm going to audition borders and maybe get that done. I've been going through my pre-cut stash trying to find ways to use them up! I have several jelly rolls and think I might use some to make some cute tote bags that I may be able to sell at the craft fair this fall.

But first on the agenda this morning is cleaning up the kitchen.... just a little shine up--most it was done last night, except for the things I snacked on later!

Here's the towels

Have a wonderful day everyone....

Good morning. It's going to be a hot week this week. We are supposed to see triple digits by friday. Yucko.

No real plans again today, but the rest of the week I will be busy. I'm taking a mental health and first aid for seniors class tomorrow, an Alzheimer's class Thursday and Friday is my heart doctor appointment.

Lori, too funny. When I was emptying things after Jerry died I found so many discs, it was just crazy. And old programs. Wheel of fortune, card maker, and others. Like your dad, Jerry also had "I'll do it later" syndrome, they wanted to get to it just never did. Sorry you don't have a new kitty but glad the kitty does have a home.

Judi, enjoy your dinner out. Prayers for the father in law, hope his test shows a treatable solution. Have they told you what the hold up is on your machine?

Lois, hoping the doc appointment goes well and the rest of your day is relaxing. Do you fix your kabobs on the grill? I've thought about getting myself a smaller grill, I have a big webber that is too big to be bothered with.

Maryz, I hope the acupuncture is working. I made the flannel/cotton switch about a month or so ago, It was a good decision. My son knows what is going on with my health, he also has access to my medical portal.

Jana, hope you find a good hiding place. Here they build i snow days to the school calendar, not sure when school is out for the year here. But I can hear them saying the pledge now, and they said the entire pledge. Parents are still dropping their kids off, lots of last minute late people in this world.

Maryq, your group get together sounds like fun. Hope you do it often. My son and I have talked about my health situation. I really don't have many answers yet, still getting doctor appointments lined up. Heart doctor on Friday, Thyroid doctor on 6/26 and I make the neurosurgeon appointment today when they open. I have to say I am cautious but feeling pretty darn good right now. Hoping that dehydration, antibiotics and stress were a factor in my passing out. Glad the towels turned out nicely, they will be treasured. I also tend to stay away from politics in conversations.

My morning has been interrupted. Dad wants me to research over the stove microwaves and pick one. I want one too. Right now I don't have a microwave, and kind of miss it. Marilyn has fewer hours next week and wants to come visit. I will put her on the train, it will be nice because she will go through some of her things and make decisions.

My morning will start with walking away the pounds, breakfast, and playing in my room. If my chicken is thawed I will make chix parm for dinner, I need to go get the mozz cheese. Otherwise I will have the rest of that leftover roast and freeze the rest.

You all have a super day
Chriss

Already 54°, but feel like 62°, says my AccuWeather app.

I had to scurry around and get the trash out. They usually don't come until midday on Monday's, but since it was a holiday they come today maybe early maybe late.

MaryQ, The towels look great! Sitting out with friends for a happy hour is one of my favorites, Minnie's too.

Chriss, If telling your son about your health was up for a vote, I would be seconding MaryZ's motion. It's good to hear that you are feeling better.

Judi, I sure hope you get a call today about your machine. Did you put a deposit down? If not maybe call around and see if another dealer has one in stock.

Midday yesterday we had a hail storm, just as Stacey and Eddie arrived. It wasn't really big, but alot. The wipers got overwhelmed and quit working about a half mile from the house. They shoveled it to one side of the deck, there's still a small pile melting this morning. My baby back ribs turned out juicy and falling off the bones. Before we ate, I took a couple ribs off and wrapped in foil. Put a couple Ranch eggs in a container and we all loaded up in the Jeep and took food to Kaylyn. She had gotten back from leading a trail ride about 4 p.m. It was good to see her, Capt Grandpa gave her extra hugs, too. And of course she was happy to see her Mom. We gave her a key to the house so she can come do laundry. She's trying to save as much money as possible. Not having to use a laundromat will help. So, our linner turned to dinner at 5. It was the first time we had met Eddie. He's a very nice man. Garry of course had to tell Eddie all of his jokes and stories over dinner.

I have laundry to fold and shirts to hang that are on the guest bed. Then I will wash the guest bed sheets. I will be gathering things together so we can leave Thursday morning for Kansas.

Hi to everyone, hope y'all have a great day. Prayers for those in need of them.
Lyn

Chriss, just saw you had posted right before me. Glad to know that your son is aware of your health.

Chriss, you have a busy week. We have an over the range microwave. When we redo the kitchen, I'll try and find one that is a combo with the oven.

Jana, a trip to the LQS sounds like a plan. Which one will you be going to? There are many in your neck of the woods.

Maryq, sometimes I'm typing along and hit something that makes my post disappear. I don't even know which key I hit. Funny how we hang on to things. The towels are very nice.

Maryz, I'm not sure how good of a home the orange kitty has. They had a run in with another neighbor and told her he likes to be feral. Which translates to letting him outside all the time. He actually comes in and gets on the bed. I think he would like to be inside. I have lots of project laying around, but just don't have time to dive in right now. I was looking through some of my books the other day thinking about things I want to make.

Judi, hope the cancer is something treatable.

Lyn, sounds like a good time with family. That's a lot of hail.

We'll Jack and Wrigley took me for my walk this morning. I have a long list of errands and chores for this week. Hopefully I'll get through them all. I had to stop going through stuff up the street because the trash and recycle bins were very full. Once they are empty today I can start some more purging. Only a couple more closets to go and lot of books. My mom had a library room and there are also book in 3 other rooms. She was an avid reader. Don't know what's for dinner tonight.

Have a lovely day.
