Good morning ,
It's going to be an on and off rainy day here.
Yesterday I didn't venture upstairs instead I finished the wash stripped the bed did the sheets and remade the bed then it was such a a beautiful day I went outside to enjoy the afternoon.
So today Bill will go get the oil change on his truck and I will stay here when he gets back and if it's not raining bad I'd love to go to the fabric warehouse to see if they have anything I haven't been there in quite a while but will see.
Not much else going on here.
I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good Morning It rained last night and looks like it might rain again but just a drizzle. Out on the porch this morning it is 62 here,,,Momma Dove is sitting on her nest. But last evening she went to the new bird feeder for a snack. she was back on the nest in a few minutes. She doesnt seem to mind us coming and going on the porch, But till the babies are fledged i keep it to a minimum. I cannot see babies or eggs since it is at the porch roof and the nest is quite large, I do need to hang my begonias today some time so she will just have to get over it...and the living room windows we never open need washing and they are on the porch, Since it is a cloudy day I will get some windows done today another room anyway,
I might run up to the quilt shop today, and see about the rest of this project...Alway something to do....
Hope you all have a great day.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lois you sound like you have a good day planned, Sitting and enjoying the fresh air is a favorite of mine,,,and top that with fabric shopping.....Perfect!!!

Good morning,
JUDI - you have a lot crammed into yesterday and planned for today. Fun to watch the birds in a nest or a birdhouse. We have birdhouses up near our deck and a few have residents! And they love our new deck fountain and come for drinks. Sometimes birds just shoot straight through our covered deck while we're sitting out there. Even owls! One owl brushed my hair with his wings once. I hope you find the exact fabric you need for your borders.
LOIS - Nice to just sit out and enjoy the fresh air. I did that yesterday, too. I hope you find some irresistable goodies at Fabric Warehouse.
VAL - sorry about the loss of a favorite cousin. But happy the BIL is set to leave today. And you got to go to MayFair and see ribbons on your friends' quilts! Sounds like your BOM is going to be a mystery for you to solve.
MARY Q - It will be fun to meet the new little Miss Norah. And then the weekend at Viv's, a stop at Horsefalls (which sounds like a very fun place!), and home to nice weather (I hope). It's good to be you!
JANA - how did dr appt go yesterday? Well, I take that back - I just read your post-appointment report. I'm glad you're getting the care you need. I was wondering if your doc would want you to postpone your dental surgery.
CHRISS - I'm happy that you are feeling easier about your diagnosis. And you're right - those are scary words. Especially when they are directed at YOU! But you are a tough cookie. And you've got some tough cookie friends. We're here for you. Grief is a weird thing. No one grieves the same and there is no wrong or right way. Every minute of every day is unpredictable. People will tell you you should do this and next day someone else will tell you that is wrong. It's just take every day as it comes and look for the good things in life. And if it gets too overwhelming, talking to a counselor can give you a 'reset'. Trust me. And LORI has some sage words yesterday. I just reread her post. She is a wise lady.
LORI - I often have chronic slight sciatica symptoms but I think I did an injury about 10 days ago. Don't know what, but I do know I won't try to move the loveseat by myself again!
LYN - yay! You're home! One nice thing about your travels - no matter which end of the trip you're on, you're always arriving home! I hope you can relax for a while before starting to deal with all the little crises that seem to dog you.
Yesterday our real estate friends came and did an informal appraisal of our home, outbuildings, and property. As we suspected the developer's offer is waaay under. There are pros and cons to selling our place. But first, they have to come up with an acceptable offer. I don't really want to move at all, so it would have to be a VERY acceptable offer. So for now, we're just going to ignore it.
I got my llamas all together. Since this quilt is a Christmas gift for Amara, I made the saddle blankets out of Christmas fabrics. And I added Christmas borders in fabrics for little kids. I didn't have enough to make all the borders the same so I made each one different. And I found appropriate fabric in my backing stash so I'll be working on that today. But first - my acupuncture appt. After making this appt I found out one of our friends goes to this practitioner on a monthly basis and swears by her and the procedure. That was good to hear. I also need to stop at the grocery store for a few things, though I may put that off until tomorrow.
My iron died last week. Fortunately Bill got me a back-up Black & Decker iron for Christmas - an Amazon deal on Black Friday. It's smaller, not as hot, but doing a good job until I get another good one. I got 22 months out of this iron, which I guess isn't too bad given the hours we use them. Bill want a Papa John's pizza for supper tonite. Sounds good to me!
That's all I've got this morning,

Good morning!
The day will be wonderful here! The wind stopped blowing and changed direction. I guess to put everything back in place! Lots of trampolines and arbors blew north, now their owners can go find them! My landscapers came yesterday, with their boss. They got the big weeds behind my barn. The boss kindly, but sternly told them about all the other weeds they had been missing. The irrigation system is on, but we have pipe problem with the drip line, so Sarah will take care of that. Hopefully today.
My little kitty, actually Karlie's kitty, Smokey, had to be put down yesterday. Smokey got several extra weeks, but finally ran out of her extra lives. Karlie is sad, but doing OK. Kari is already thinking of a new kitty. Kari wants a Maine coon cat. Daniel said that maybe a second cat as well.
It's a grocery trip today. I have two stops to get prescriptions, so will be out, might as well gather a few groceries. I'd rather do fewer groceries at a time and spread out the work of carrying them it and organizing them in the pantry. My pantry is in need of restocking.
Sarah and I took dinner over to Daniel's last night, a Costco stop on the way home, and found a perfect planter for my new hydrangea. Mr G wants it on the deck landing, landing is big enough, but my only problem with the planter is it's the wrong color! A beautiful cobalt blue! I want red! So I'm thinking about 8t. The hydrangea is blue blossoms, so maybe. I'm a Quilter, so color matters!
I have a very hard time with scrappy, love them, just can't do one.
Sarah was texting me last night about a Judi Neimeyer retreat in Boise. A whole week. Boise is a doable drive. But, then Sarah saw the price, no way! Several thousand dollars. I told Sarah , we're capable of reading a pattern and do it ourselves. Besides, I have y'all to help me! Now, talk me out of another JN quilt!
Well, it's time to get going. Actually, so not in the mood, but have to,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning from Estes Park. Looks like it will be a nice day.
We got to the RV garage about 2 yesterday. Though we no longer have an individual garage, the manager has room in the main building for the time we are here. Only problem is, he doesn't want to leave it plugged in. I was only going to bring a few things up in a little Yeti we have. I managed to get 3 other bags, one is insulated, into the already full Jeep. He did plug it in temporarily. I have to go to Transwest, so I will first buy another cooler and get everything out of the fridge and freezer. In the hour that the engine was shut off, the 16, yes 16 house batteries dropped to 11.3v, that's not good. They are the originals, 9 years old. I will get a quote from Transwest for new ones. The upkeep on the MH has become very expensive this year.
Amanda and Maddox will be on our doorstep this evening. She had asked for time off to come to grandson's graduation. We'll, he's not walking Thursday. He messed up in a class and is short point something in credits. He will do a summer class and get his diploma. I'm not happy with him, but his parents have already used all the words that I would say, so I will just give him a hug and maybe a kick on the behind.
Time to move. Need a grocery store run before going down the Mtn.
Hope y'all get a chance to play with fabric.
Lyn

Good Morning All
Happy Tuesday!! Going to be another hot one!! Kind of scary, as our humidity is so low! We have fires burning in Northern Minnesota this morning--as I caught on the news for a minute!
Lois.. You have a fabric warehouse too? How are their prices? If I won the lottery, that's one of the first places I'd go--well after I do a few things to my house!
Sometimes you just have to have an R & R day--rest and relax. I even sat on my patio with a good book yesterday--wishing I had a more comfortable chair.
Judi.... You have a Dove? I'm wondering if that's what I hear outside my window. I was thinking Owl, but it does sound more coo-ing that who-ing!
Does Mama dove have a nest right close to your house? I have a little fake pine tree that sits in the corner of my patio year old--a few times now I've had robins make a nest. Kind of fun to watch! But boy does Mama bird screech at me when I go out my front door!
Maryz... Bummer when the iron dies! I have 2 in my closet, that I keep for emergencies--they aren't quite dead yet, but just don't function super great. In the meantime I do have a newer Hamilton Beach and still love that brand. I figure if we can get almost 2 years out of an iron, that ain't bad. Have you had acupuncture before? (you've probably told me, but I forget!) Oh I bet the developer will low-ball you!! Stand firm!!!
Jana... All went well at your Dr. appointment? I'll take that cobalt blue pot!! My favorite color~ I'd love to get all new pots for my patio this year so that they all match, but I don't think that's happening.
Lyn.... Too bad your DGS can't walk with his class. Some schools will let a student walk and give them a blank diploma until they finish the credits. Do you go through International Falls when you head to Canada? That's where all the fires are now.
Guess I better get butt in gear. I have a lot list of errands to run which include getting a badly needed hair cut. Thinking about going relatively short--think Pixie, but not quite. Think I'll run into the Joann close by the beauty salon for a quick peek to what's left that I might need (or not), then a trip through a thrift store--need some new capri's and I've seen them at the goodwill store and/or a dash into WM as I know their brand of jeans will fit. I go for cheap clothes!!!
Wishing you all a bright and happy day!

Re: Tuesday May 13,2025
Good morning. It's going to be another beautiful day today. We will have a roller coaster of temperatures for a while now.
I'm taking two kinds of antibiotics. One is every 8 hours the other every 6 hours. I never know if I am supposed to wake up and take them or just wait till the morning and start fresh each day. I hate taking pills.
I live in a pretty rural area. There is an elementary (k-8) school a post office and a gas station. If I hear a helicopter someone is either getting medivacked out or there is a fire. No trains and no airplanes. This morning I heard a train whistle. Someone must have it on their vehicle. It was a strange thing to hear.
Lori, I agree with everything you said yesterday about grief. The book I am listening to is confirming what I have heard over and over. I have already started talking with my dad about my stepmom's future care. He is like me. We have an I can do it all and don't need help mentality. It's not always a good way to be. I love opening things like a safety deposit box or a junk drawer and finding treasures. Jerry had an old trunk that he found at his parents' house and he knew he had the key at home. His siblings wanted him to break the lock to see what was inside, they knew it was where the gold bricks were hidden. It was just some baby clothes, but the anticipation was fun.
Lois, I really thought it was going to rain here yesterday, but it just got cold and windy. craziest weather ever. Hope you get to go fabric shopping and find just the right thing.
Judi, I have never seen a dove's nest. I have a lot of doves here, they eat the seeds in the mullen, then they must go to your house.
Maryz, Papa Murphy's often sends me emails with their deals. I've signed up for their coupons. Thankfully they are 30 miles from here and inconvenient. I have, more than once, thought about selling and moving but I will probably be here for the rest of my life. It's a lot of upkeep but moving to another house would be unknown upkeep. And I have no house payment and know what my property tax is each year.
Jana, we are the opposite. I'd rather make one grocery trip, even if it's to several places. Get everything I need, then put it all away. But I am 30 miles from the nearest store. I hope those meds kick your BP into behaving. Those Maine Coon cats are gorgeous. I think your wind headed this way, I don't need it so will send it away.
Lyn, when you give Maddox that hug and kick in the behind add an extra squeeze and an UGH from me. While being in the graduation ceremony is cool, it just wasn't important enough to him for him to make it happen. Hope everything works out with the motor home, It really had dinged your wallet lately.
Maryq, doves do sound like owls, and when they land or take off they make a caw noise. Hope your errands are quickly done.
Well, once again, if I don't get moving I will sit idle. The parents will be here today, and likely most all week. I think dad takes longer to do his projects so he can have a reprieve. Ihave a steak thawing for dinner, it will have grilled onions and mushrooms on it and sauteed brussel sprouts with bacon. All that goodness on one plate. It is good to be me.
You all hav a fantastic day
Chriss

Chriss, what time is dinner? That sounds amazing. Junk drawers are fun to go though.
Even my own. Sometimes I find things I forgot about. The train whistle was probably on a big rig. Some of them have that sound. I'm sure your dad needs a bit of time to himself and helping you out helps him.
Maryq, a new hair cut will be nice. I too need to find some new jeans. The ones I have are starting to look dingey.
Lyn, bummer about the motor home. Hopefully you can replace the batteries and that will help. That's too bad your grandson doesn't get to graduate with his class. I'm sure they told him what he needed. My son was very close to that as well. The teacher called me 2 weeks before the end of school and we made sure Jonathan got his act together. He was able to walk with his class.
Jana, I'm so sorry about kitty. She wasn't that old. I'm sure Sarah will get the drip system up and running in no time. I need to put one in up the street at dad's. Right now I'm moving the sprinkler around the backyard. There are sprinklers in the front.
Maryz, I've done that moving furniture as well. Sometimes we don't make good decisions and then we pay for them. I'll be interested to hear about the acupuncture.
Judi, we have a nest up in the eves using our cable wires. I've seen and heard the little ones. I don't know what kind of bird it is. They sure are noisy when they want food or mama.
Lois, I too had to do the sheets this morning. We had an incident with the cat.
I was awakened in the middle of the night by the smell of poop. Molly had an issue and dragged it across the sheets and quilt. Apparently she stepped in it and it stuck to her foot. What a stinky mess. I made an appointment for her to be seen today. She seems to be having trouble going. Hopefully it's nothing serious. So I've been cleaning messes this morning. I've got the laundry going and I need to hop in the shower. Don't know what's for dinner.
Have a lovely day.
