Good morning and Happy Mother's Day,

Today we had planned to go to the Flea market but
I told Bill that I would like to stay home and relax and sew I had a nice day yesterday Sandi came and we all went to breakfast then went to the polish deli and got stuff from there then went to BJ's she and I needed stuff so now that's done we had a fun day.
So now I just want to stay home today and enjoy my day.
Billy came by yesterday but we weren't home so they left my gift on the counter he called me last night and wished me a happy mother's day and I thanked him for my gift and found out his father in-law had been in the hospital and came out Friday so they were going there today that's fine .

Well on the sunflower quilt I'm sewing the centers together then it's squaring up all the pieces then once I get that done it will be time to quilt the baby quilt and finish that stuff then it will be time to put the sunflower quilt together I just wanted to do something for myself before I finish the baby stuff  .

Well that's my story I hope Everyone has a wonderful day .
Prayers go out to all in need.
Lois

Happy Mothers day

It rained and thundered a lot during the night. The fire in Carolina Forest is still smothering and sometimes we can smell it. The other day I thought it was fog but it was from there. Lawsuits against the woman who started this nightmare are piling up.

Today we were going to BBQ--but with the rain I guess not. Joe and Fran will come for dinner and that should be fun.

Well whatever you do ENJOY the day.
Diane

Good morning and Happy Mom's Day to all our moms and grandmoms, stepmoms and moms-in-law, and just-like-moms,

DIANE - I guess I didn't realize you had a fire in SC. How did the woman start the fire?

LOIS - you've got a lot going on in your world right now. Is your fire out?

CHRISS - one of my nephews, Jeff, also has an meningioma. He is almost 60 now and retired on his last birthday. Doctors figure he was probably born with it but they didn't discover it until about 8 yrs ago. His main symptoms are double vision and vertigo and he just keeps truckin' along and enjoying life. I thought you posed an interesting question to JANA: If Judi's team throws an octopus onto the ice after a win, what will Jana's Utah Mammoth toss?? I'm guessing after spending a few hours with your stepmom, you can understand why it takes your dad longer to arrive in the mornings. It took forever for my DB to get his wife put together to take to dr appts. He'd get one item of clothing on her, turn to get something else, and when he turned back, she had already removed the first. Almost every moment of every day was taking care of her.

LORI - you are pretty hot for so early in the year, aren't you? And yep, I think the graduation party invite was a bid for gifts. I'm not even bothering to RSVP. I am saving the announcement though to give to Lara, who will be arriving here from VA in about 3 weeks. The dad of the graduate is a cousin of my kids and I don't know if they've kept in touch through the years. My NYB? It is MINE! All MINE! I have no place to hang such a big quilt (99x109) so I will either fold it over a loveseat or put it on our bed. Probably the bed to start.

MARY Q - Five meals a day? I could do it, but I'd probably just eat more potatoes, rice, and pasta. White is my favorite color of food, unfortunately. Sometimes for lunch I slice up an apple and eat it with peanut butter or cheddar cheese. Did you get your flowers yet? When are you leaving for WI? You probably don't want to plant flowers until you get back so you can water them? Especially if your weather is turning warm.

JANA - did you get your day in the Cave yesterday?

LYN - how was your possibly windy travel day yesterday? Are you staying in Hays for a few days? I didn't know if the graduation you are attending was in KS or Denver area.

JUDI - I checked your weather on my wx app on my phone. Looks like you are in for some nice temps. We have a single nice day - mid 70's - and then slip back to about 60. A month ago we'd have been thrilled to see 60*, but now it seems chilly. Did you get all your yardwork done?

Yesterday by about 9am my leg pain finally went down to about 1 to 2 and I got a few things done. It's odd that it hurts so much at night, but not a lot during the day. I finished 3 llamas and cut out 3 more. Then I made chicken noodle soup and biscuits for supper. During evening TV I made a lot of progress on my embroidery project. I've passed the halfway point on my last panel. I even dug out the blocks and FG I have already made to pull this project together. If I keep up the embroidery pace, I could have it done in about 10 days. We'll see if that happens. This project is Over the River and Through the Woods by Crabapple Hill. Today is work on more llamas and clean house. Bill is going to help. He only has one more quilting pass on NYB and it will be ready to trim and bind so he'll probably do that first thing this morning. And I expect I'll get these 3 llamas finished and the last 3 cut out. We have a week full of appointments coming up so that will be slowing our roll a little bit.

I hope you all enjoy your Mother's Day!

Good morning!

Happy Mother's Day, Whatever you do, enjoy the day, we've earned it!

I'm playing doctor today. Mr G dropped a water bottle on his toe, the one next to the baby toe, yesterday. Don't ask me how, but he succeeded in causing the skin to break, bleed and the toe is now floppy. The water bottle was a normal, regular size, plastic one. Full of course. He can walk OK, but this is Mr G, fussy britches! We'll see.......

Didn't make it down to the Batt Cave yesterday. Daniel was over, working on the landing at the bottom of the deck stairs. He framed up the forms and will pour the concrete, maybe today. We also have not yet found the magic combination to get the irrigation up and running. That's a phone call to my landscaper in the morning. The crew comes on Mondays to mow, etc. So it's hand watering my flowers.

I have my dr appointment tomorrow afternoon for my BP.

Maryz - so happy the leg is starting to behave. And NYB will be done too.

As for the hockey team throwing stuff, like Judi's, that will be awhile as that tradition is when the team gets near a playoff berth. No where near that good, yet. But maybe a cutthroat trout, they live here in the rivers. Or stinky brine shrimp.

Getting time for church. I've got three semi easy, old hymns we're singing. One has a tricky time in the start, but we'll muddle through. No one watches the chorister, they follow the organ, which I'm good with! :)

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning, happy Mothers day. It should be a little cooler today, I am thankful for that.

I spent most of yesterday reading about this tumor and am not as concerned as I was. Seems that if they check it periodically and there are no changes things will be fine. I've already done my watering this morning and the parents will be up sometime today. I think I will spend what I have of my day with an audiobook and mindlessly sewing charms together. I have a slew of them and why not make something from them.

Lois, how is that quilting machine working for you? Do you love it? Enjoy your nice quiet day.

Diane, Enjoy your dinner.

Maryz, you have a lot of projects going on, I can't even get one done. I also like white food, but have learned to really limit it. I can totally see why things take longer with my stepmom. If I am worn out in an afternoon I can see how it would be for my dad.

Jana, hopefully soon we will see what the team throws on the ice, I wish them luck. hope yoru BP is normal so you can do what you need to do.

No clue what dinner will be, but that's pretty normal here.

Guess if my day is going to start I need to get off of my duff, hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good Morning Girls

First of all, I wish you all a very Happy Mother's Day! It's going to be a "corker" here with temps maybe hitting 90* Man I don't want to turn on the AC this early!!!

Lois..... Is the Flea market close to you? That got me thinking about checking to see if there are any around here! It's garage sale season here so there are tons of those in the area. I have to say a nice relaxing day at home sounds pretty good too!

Diane.. A couple of women started the fire???? On purpose? I did see, I think it was the NJ fire that they found the person that started that one, but it was kind accident/negligence. There should be a special place in hell for people that do that on purpose!!

Maryz... Yeh, I'm not too sure of this 5 meals a day... I just don't want to be in the kitchen that much. Have you heard of "Over Night Oats"? Some kind of protein shake, I might try and count it as a meal. When Bill gets your NYB all done, where do you lay it out to trim it? I lay mine out on my big table and sometimes that's a challenge!!! Glad to hear the pain level is coming down. I wonder if movement during that is helping as opposed to staying relatively still during the night. Oh definitely will buy plants when I get home.. or might buy some in Wisconsin and I see them at some of the sales down there.

Jana... Yup, something dropped just right can pop that skin wide open!! I have scar on the stop of my foot to prove it! Is your deck just about done? Do you have some nice furniture out there so you can sit and relax and enjoy your Mother's Day!?

Chriss... Sewing mindless charms together with a good audio book sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. I just might join you, tho I am also thinking that a cup of coffee on the patio with a good book sounds pretty good to! If it weren't so windy here today, I'd be half tempted to set up my sewing machine out on the patio!!

Not sure what today's plan is. Kevin and Sara stopped by yesterday afternoon on the way to Sara's folks lake place--just west of me on a beautiful lake. Haven't heard from Shawn yet, but I'm guessing he will text me later to tell me come for supper--he usually waits until the last minute. I'm expecting Jen will call sometime too. Other than it will be a pretty quiet day. For now the kitchen awaits my attention as it needs a shine up --then you will probably find me heading for the sewing room for some project or another--it needs a shine up as well!

Wishing you all the very best!

The deck is mostly finished. Daniel is fabricating me a fancy custom deck rail. That takes time. We have temporary 2x4 as a rail8ng. No deck furniture yet. We have been on a tight budget as we are helping Aaron pick up a second college degree in cybersecurity. Kate left the fire department earlier this year. Too much stress on her. She is now teaching part time and getting her credentials to teach physical education at the elementary school level. She is really enjoying doing this, as she works at the little girls elementary school.. so we are supporting them. Aaron has 2 semesters left for his degree. It wasn't until January that we became eligible to collect Mr G's social security as we were public employees, but a law was passed and signed, making that money available. What a blessing to come when it did! God's handprints are all over this! So now we can ease up on some spending, deck furniture is one of them.

Good Morning and Happy Motheres day to all the Mothers out there, I woke this morning a sore as I could be,,,everything seemed to hurt at about a 6-9. Incase you dont know pain is measures as 10 being the very worst pain you could imagine,,,not tolerable...and 1 being no big deal...in between is where they stand, I probably over did it in the yard yesterday but as i was coming out of the bathroom Ken was dressed and decided to take me to Mothers Day breakfast, We went to out very favoerite breakfast place called First Watch,,,it was crowded at 830 am. seem everyone was there for their Moms. We had a marvelous breakfast and they gave me a coupon for another Breakfast on the house...as a Mother;s day thank you. win win,
Today the kids will either drop by, call, or text, so I know i will hear from all of them, and grandchildren too.
I will tidy up the sewing room..I am almost done sewing the blocks togther and the borders are next,,,I may have enough fabric to finish up the borders. we shall see,,if not a trip to the LQS on tuesday will be in order ( they are closed on Monday, )
Hope you have a great day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Happy Mothers Day ladies. I see you are enjoying your day.

Lois, I like your plan to just sew and enjoy.

Diane, bummer your BBQ got washed out.

Maryz, our weather is not normal. It has cooled off a pit today, and they say it will be 71* tomorrow.
I think I would put that masterpiece on the bed. It is a beauty. Did they discover what was causing your leg pain? Is Laura staying with you? How long will she be out visiting?

Judi, sorry to hear you are hurting this morning. Sounds like you over did it for sure. Breakfast out is always nice.

Chriss, glad you are more educated on your diagnosis. My step daughter has a tumor in her brain that hasn't changed in years. She was probably born with it. Mindless sewing is always a good way to spend the day. What book are you listening to right now?

Jana, oh no! Do you think the toes is broken? There's not much you can do with that other than tape it to a good one. Aaron picked a good subject to study. I remember taking a report for the first cyber crime we had back in the 90's. It was just beginning back then and we knew it was going to be huge.

Maryq, sounds like our weather headed your way. I hope you got your invite to dinner.

We did our usually morning walk. Then the Cubs game was on so I was watching that and got hungry. So I made Belgium waffles for brunch. I'm meeting up with my 1/2 sisters mom around 5. She's down from Santa Rosa. She'll be going to Disneyland tomorrow with her adult grandson that live in the L.A. area.
Other than that I have no plans. Might work on quilting the GFG.

Have a lovely day.
