Good morning, good morning, good morning, it's time to rise and shine.
Day 3 at the Mothership. Things are getting done. We'll drive to Shipshewana this morning and go to Yoder's, besides the fabric department, I want to look for new shoes.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning I was up early but my new adventure for the day is learning to put the new hearing aides in without the technician there to guide me...It took me a while to get one er in,,,the secind was a bit esier, I am supposed to talk today that was the order...so my brain can get used to the new signals.. ( yes amazed I have a brain,) I have a friend who will talk to me today after 9,,she is not an early riser,,,lol. I will go up to the store today and get a few birthday cards for my DDIL grandson and grandaughter,,I have an $8 certificate so off to the Hallmark store I go. at 10/
We had a nice dinner last night and after we went to the icecream shop we went on one of our first dates..fpr dessert/ they were still playing 50s music and they have been opened since 1947. some customers are 4th generations going there,,,Frozen custard is my favorite. then home to veg and I actually did a bit of sewing ,,,still plugging away at the 12th month,,it is the most labor intensive...I am off to get coffee and toast then I may sew a bit more...
Hope you all have a great day.
Lyn I am curios,,,do you stay at the newmar factory while your coach is being worked on or do you tow a car along and are able to leave...since your home is being worked on do they put you up in a hotel?
Jana you were on my mind this morning,,,hope all is well...
I too wonder about many of the friend who are no longer on the forum...since we share so much of our lives it is a wonder what has become of the gals...I keep in touch with Chrissy1 she has had to move to home with her duaghter living in an attached apartment to be closer to assistance, after her stroke she can no longer drive and her husband has Parkinsons and he also is almost total care. so life has changed for her and she still reminds me to get my mammogram each year,
have a great day...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Morning
Tornado in our area yesterday. Didn't touch down in Miller, but storm itself left damage. Town south of us without power still. A lot of power lines down. We plugged in our extra freezer for a neighbors daughter to use, she purchased a half a cow from local butcher and doesn't want to loose about 300 pounds of beef. She will be here today to store her beef..plus I'm babysitting for another friend's 2 yr old for a few hours....neighbor whose daughter using freezer, gave me about 30 pounds of tomatoes she froze from her garden last year to make sauce with...so today or tomorrow I will cook and water bath marinara...so easy day!

Good morning,
Today is my younger sister's birthday. I hate when my younger sister is 73! How do these things keep happening??
LYN - hope you have a nice day. How far is Yoder's from the Mothership? I hope you find everything you need, want, and more!
JUDI - how was your anniversary dinner? What did you have? Next year will be a biggie for you. It deserves a biggie anniversary quilt . . .
How far are you on your Block 12? Thanks for the update on Chrissy. I'm sorry life has changed so much for her. We went the Parkinson's route with my brother, Jim. It's so sad. I wonder what has happened to Kathy in MA. I should drop her a card.
FLO - Your day doesn't sound so easy to me! Relieved the tornado passed you by. It seems, watching from the PNW, that there are more tornados in the heartland than there used to be. Or else more news coverage. I'm not sure which. Another 2 yr old! They are very busy little people! 30# of tomatoes! What a gift!
CHRISS - Did you get that baby quilt finished? Which one is this? What is Dad's latest project at your house? And what did "move the books" mean? Transport them from a storage room? a different building? from across town? Are they setting up for another book sale? I miss our library's book sales. But they do have used books for sale all the time in their lobby - just a smaller amount. I checked out that pattern you mentioned. You knew I would and you're right - it's purrfect for me. But oh so expensive! So I guess I won't be joining their sew along. But thanks for thinking of me!
LORI - When you get those spare hours to set up your display wall, please share a photo! We made a lot of forts, secret camps, playhouses, and more when we were kids. Our forts were usually out in the pasture and we used dried cowpies for bombs. Fortunately we had plenty of ammunition! Glad you are loving line dancing. We used to do a lot of it. Even taught a few classes.
JANA - so just how high was your BP?? Is it chronically high? JUDI gave you good advice. Be squeaky with your doctor. High BP is serious. And that was a funny story you shared! About the newlyweds, not about your ER visit. Thanks for the chuckle.
LOIS - your photo of your baby quilt is posted in PHOTOS. It's really cute!
MARY Q - what did you do yesterday? You can put any library you want on your Libby app as long as you have a library card to that library. Aut lets me use her card for her libraries plus I have my local county library card.
I did 4 loads of laundry yesterday. Tomorrow I'll do sheets and towels and whatever clothing collects by then. It's going to be about 75* and sunny - a good day for line drying. I also fiddled around in the kitchen some. And got my third border finished and the fourth about halfway done. My plan is to finish the fourth today and then hope they all fit just right on the quilt. If all goes well - it just might be DONE today! I hope so. I'm getting itchy to do things like clean kitchen cabinets and rearrange the living room furniture. I have chiropractor this morning and Bill has a doctor appt this afternoon and I will probably go along. Sometimes it pays to have a second pair of ears. And as long as we're out, we do need to stop at the grocery store for a few things. So sewing time will be cut into pretty sharply. We have leftover cooked chicken so maybe I'll make chicken tetrazzini for supper.
Do something fun! Make yourself smile!

Good morning!
A storm front moved through with a bit of rain. Our temps dropped accordingly.
My BP rang the bell at the carnival. It was 206/101. But it has now come down, slowly. Last night's reading was 177/90. We have no idea how long it has been running high. No symptoms or anything. So I take it a couple of times during the day, to give the family Dr something. You see, I'm never sick, so I haven't seen the Dr in many years. OK, once here to get my handi dandy blue placard for handicap parking. That's 13 plus years here. I know I'm bad. So I'm being watched carefully by all. Thank y'all too for worrying about me too!
So yesterday I needed to put away my China. It had a home in a cabinet under my island, but I had a hard time putting it there. I'm not a good acrobat, so I wondered, out loud about a new, easier place. Sooooo, Mr G, the ever problem solving engineer, that's what they do, make life better, has started rearranging some of my cupboards. With my input. The China has found a new home and I got to be rid of some junk in the cupboards. Found sippy cups buried on a top shelf in the back. Get to pitch some old small plastic plates from IKEA that were used for the littles. Found my mug from when I did my QIAD teacher training at the shop in San Marcos. We don't drink coffee and I'm not a fan of hot chocolate, so the mug never gets used. I'll take it to the Batt Cave as a pencil or rotary cutter holder. So that project of cupboards will be finished today. I'll have Mr G have a talk to George, about leaving the cupboard doors open. i hate doors open on my cupboards! Oh, George, he's the green ghost that gets blamed for everything that goes wrong here in the house. That way Mr G isn't always getting told he, left the door open, etc. I just remind him to talk to George. I have my counter part, named Martha. Boy can she get in trouble ! At the moment, Mr G is fussing with the charger cord setup in my bedroom. That's what engineers do, make things better. I keep telling myself that!
I'll be in the Batt Cave, with my assortment of squirrels,
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Good morning and happy Wednesday, breakfast is done, my cutting for todays Go Cube class is done and ready to go, and the kitchen is mostly clean. DH just doesn't quite understand that on occasion, the counters and stove top must be cleaned. He wipes them with a used sponge and calls it clean. Yuk!
Today is just my class at 1:30. Will try to get in some sewing but for now, resting the back.
Lyn while we were camping, DH cousin who also has a significant back problem said he only wears Hoka brand shoes and that really helps with his back and feet. I haven't seen any around here, may look online and change online for shoes. I am hard to fit.
Judi you will be used to that hearing aide in no time. The difficulty I had was everything sounds like it is coming through a microphone, which in essence it is. I haven't worn it though in years. Guess there are lots of sounds I can do without. I am watching the calendar to pay DMV and send Lena her 5th birthday present.
Flo those tornados can do some damage. Last one through Rapid City blew away DS's back yard stuff. DH had to go there and fix it. Supposedly it is now tornado proof. Glad you are able to help out the girl. That's a lot of beef to loose.
Maryz my younger sister keeps getting older too, but I stay the same, so don't fret. My younger sisters DH has Parkinson's. Wonder if it's on the rise. Yes I am usually on the run in the morning, that's my best time of day. So if I am going to get things done, it has to be then. Come 3 - 4, I am done.
Jana we have been warming up. It was actually into the high 80s in Vacaville yesterday. Should be few degrees cooler to day but still in the 80s. Wow, that is some high BP. I would recommend at least an annual checkup. Cupboard cleaning is something that needs to get on my list. Although last time I suggested to the kids to through their kiddy plates away, I was met with resistance. They were about 18 or more at the time and Elijah had already had Lina. So those plates still sit in my cupboard. I have several things there I never use also.
Well I want to get some cutting done. One of the girls at the shop has been working on a very scrappy quilt but it takes a lot of cutting. I have the dies to cut so will start doing that. Want to finish the book I have been reading also. Have a great day.
Chriss how is the quilt coming?

Good Morning Girls
Looks like a nice day!!! Yeah!! I think I'll be able to open up windows as soon as it warms up a bit! Might even wash a window or two! I did try to stop by yesterday but as I was going to type, I looked up and saw the mess that the gremlins had made over night and thought I better get right to that--I over slept a bit and felt like I'd wasted 1/2 the day!
Lyn.... Just for grins I looked up Shipshewana on Google Earth and it's nowhere near I thought it would be! Almost straight east of me off I-90! I take I-90 when I go to Viv's! I'm guessing you took the jeep along so that you have a way to go shopping? Or does the RV place give you a loaner? Hope you find some fun stuff at Yoders.
Judi... I imagine it will be quite a learning experience to get new hearing aid. Perhaps you will even small quiet sounds that you haven't heard for a while. When my DB Greg first got his, he heard birds singing for the first in years--he couldn't figure out what that sound was. I hope you are able to get used to quickly. And remember, you can always turn them off when you just don't want to listen to somebody!
Flo... EASY day???? Are you kidding.... making sauce and babysitting a 2 year old at the same time!! The storms from the other sure sound like they were all over the place. Not much near me, but there was sure a big panic about it. South me had a couple touch downs.
Maryz... I live in Wright County, but Hennepin county (which is Minneapolis) is only about 6 miles from my house. I could probably go to a Hennepin county library and get a library card there too, tho they may restrict it Hennepin county residents. I tried to get a book to read on Libby the other day but I have to reset my card and for the life of me I can't find it. So next time I'm in town, I'll stop by the library and see if I just need a new card. I can't believe how fast you've gotten that NY quilt put together, but then you are able to concentrate much better than I am! Hope all goes well for Bill at Dr. Are they going more tests on the lump?
Jana.... You'd get along very well with my Jen... She absolutely freaks out when cupboard doors are open. Sometimes I leave them open on purpose just to bug her. Isn't it funny how an engineers mind works.. finding the right solution to every kind of problem.
Valerie....You have a Go Cutter? Is it one of the electric ones? I would just love a cutter for 2.5" strips and squares!! Sometimes when I cut strips, they get wonky. In your nursing career have you noticed that Parkinson's seems to effect men more than women? I wonder if that's every been studied. Or is Parkinson's just a male disease?
Chriss.... How do you fix your chicken in the air fryer? I have from time to time bought the frozen breaded chicken strips--sometimes they are good and sometimes not so much. I'm not much for cooking either, I just don't get endorphins from cooking. If somebody wants to cook a big meal, I'll come clean up the kitchen--I don't mind that so much.
Not sure how much I will get done today. The summer cold that I haven't had for 3 years has finally caught up with me. Good thing I have my Puffs with lotion. I tried to square up the wedding quilt on my big table, but it's bigger than the table and every time I tried to measure it I got different measurements. I'm going to see if I can get Evie to come over the help me get it laid out on the floor to precisely measure. Sometimes I get 69" wide and sometimes I get 68.25" I'd like to have it a little closer to square before I try to put the borders on.
If you have an extra prayer or two today and tomorrow, could you float one for my niece Meaghan.... She is being induced tomorrow to deliver her baby girl at 39 weeks. Her whole pregnancy has been a miracle! She's had to be on blood thinners the whole time and they wanted her off of them before delivery, hence the induction rather than go through labor as usual. She goes in tomorrow morning sometime, my sister Anne will be with her and will her sister Erin. Baby Dad will be there as well, even tho they aren't married and will likely not get married---hopefully .
Best get busy! With Puffs in hand!
Have a happy Wednesday!

Re: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Good morning. Here I sit with a quilt over my lap, a cup of coffee and my friends. The perfect way to start a great day.
I do want to work in the yard a bit but the inside of my house is demanding attention so that will use up a few hours of my day. I also bought a new puzzle and have very slowly started on it. It is going to be a challenge, some of the pieces are oddly shaped.
Lyn, glad things are going well at the mothership. Hope you find those new shoes. I've been looking at shoes for a while now and am not finding what I really want. Enjoy your outing.
Judi, I am glad you had a great night, so cool that the ice cream shop is still there. You'll master those hearing aids and in no time, you will probably hear things you didn't want to hear. Chrissy1 is blessed to have her daughter nearby to help her. Getting old and being here alone is a fear of mine. I'm glad she doesn't have to worry about that.
Flo, you sure aren't idle. Lots to do in your life. It's nice how you can bless the people around you.
Maryz, I love my libby app. I only have a card for my area but if I ever go to a bigger city I will apply for a library card there, not sure if there are rules against that or not. And not sure if I really would get a bigger selection or not? Seems like I would. I'm working ont he first kiss quilt still. And I have a second top thatI finished some time ago, it' yellow and grey pinwheels. I want to practice stippling on the pinwheels so I can do the real thing on the kiss quilt, otherwise I will stitch in the ditch. We moved books from one storage place to another. Dad doesn't hasn't been here for a while, he has some things to tie up at his house, then he will be here to do heaven knows what. My younger sister also keeps getting older, I think it's their way of being pests.
Jana, nice to have your China accessible. And nice to get rid of the stuff you no longer use. Sure hope your blood pressure gets under control, I hear blowing a gasket at our age could be disastrous. I go to the doctor yearly for my blood work and a mamo. It's pretty rare that I go other than that.
Valerie, I have seen those Hoka shoes on Amazon, way too expensive for me. I've always bought skechers but am frustrated with how junk gets stuck in the tread. I need something with a different tread pattern. I'm still plugging away at that quilt, it's not been a productive year for me in the sewing room. Amazing the things that need to be done, both inside and outside, almost like having a job.
Maryq, Exactly what I did. I had to get a new library card because I couldn't find my old one, it's like we are twins. Well guess what I found yesterday? In my wallet. Go figure. I put either salt, pepper and garlic powder or lemon pepper seasoning on my chicken strips for the air fryer. quick and boring. Prayers said for your neice
Tomorrow morning I have a doctors appointment. I've had ringing in my ears for quite a few months. Personally I think it started after I had a crown put in and am wondering if the two aren't related. But more recently I've had extra heart fluttering ( I have a mitral valve prolapse) I've had brain fog, like my head isn't getting oxygen and sometimes hear my heartbeat in my ears and occasionally get dizzy. The year anniversary of Jerry's death didn't help. I'm really hoping that the health stuff is just stress or grief and will go away, Guess I will know more tomorrow.
Well girls, I need to do something around here or it won't get done. Moose isn't helpful so here I go. Last night dinner was a bacon cheeseburger, today will likely be the same.
You all have a fabulous day
I do want to work in the yard a bit but the inside of my house is demanding attention so that will use up a few hours of my day.

Re: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Hi everyone!
I can't seem to get caught up lately.....I think someone is stealing hours in my day.
I'm taking a break but started today out vacuuming and dusting and got both bathrooms cleaned.... mopping is about half done. I'm going to try to paint my fading yard statue things, I've been watching some videos to see how.
Jana, I hope you're alright.
Chriss, I hope you're ok too.
Maryz, my insoles are helping but I need to go Monday and see if he can make them thicker, they seem to already be worn down to me.
Maryq, glad you got all those patches done! I'm always afraid to leave my machine while it's doing its thing.
Judi, I hope your hearing aids are a perfect fit for you, I got my hearing tested when we went to Cruces, I don't need any yet but I've lost some in my right ear from being sick about 8 or so years ago.
Valerie, gosh you have so much going on, you get a lot of sewing done, awesomeness!
I gotta go check out the photos section. I haven't been sewing yet, so much to do around here. Kevin helped fill the hole and Frankie was leveling it up yesterday, after Sunday he'll plant some grass seed.
Jazmyne is busy busy with ending her high school years and her early college, we'll have 3 graduations to go to, a high school, the early college plus her associates degree at the regular college in Silver City where the main campus is and she's got awards ceremonies and banquets coming up and her graduation party is going to be here in our yard. Our calendar is pretty packed for the next 3 weeks, plus we're going to little league games too.
I hope you all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need
Tina

Got my design wall up. It's 9 large felt squares. You can pin into like a bulletin board too. It looks much nicer than the flannel backed table cloth material I had up.
Like Tina, I had a busy day cleaning. I still have more to do tomorrow.
