Good morning,

I see Pope Francis passed away. May God bless him and hurry him into heaven. He was a Pope for the people.

JUDI - a bummer about the boo boo. Is there anyway you could sort of post-quilt (as opposed to pre-quilting)? How was your day with the family? Who all was there? How is Val doing?

LOIS - How many folks were at your house for Easter dinner? I hope your Bill's dr appt goes well. My Bill has one on Wednesday.

JANA - I checked out the video of the choir. Beautiful! The practice it must take to be that good boggles my mind! Thank you! Was that video taken yesterday at church? What time did Sarah and Joseph roll in?

LORI - oh no! So sorry about the bobbin! I accept blame. I forgot to make my wish for you to have a full bobbin all day long. And you called it - our grandsons were happy with their "Easter baskets"! ;) 🍷🍷 My Bill's hair is nearly white, too. And pretty thin. I have no idea what happened to those dark curls I fell in love with! Sure glad MY hair isn't showing any gray yet!

CHRISS - I saw your action figure. You don't look fat at all! You 'sound' quite thin, actually! And no, I certainly never thought I would be buying wine for MY grandkids! I'm still trying to figure out how I got old enough to HAVE grandkids!

LYN - glad your internet came back! I hope it stays on through all the time you are gone.

VAL - Scrappie 66 doesn't ring any bells for me, but that doesn't mean anything. I'd forgotten we ever did Secret Pals! Don't forget - if your post goes *POOF!* sometimes you can restore it by hitting the ctrl and z keys. Another thing probably everyone already knows but I just figured out myself is up in the top left corner is a little down caret. And if you click on that it shows everything most recently deleted. Using either of these methods restores my posts about 80% of the time.

TINA - I know you had a good day with all your family! Is today a dirt-free day of relaxation for you?

Yesterday I finished putting together the last of my NYB blocks. The quilt is ready for me to figure out the scalloped, spikey, FPP borders now. :? I spent 4 hours in the kitchen preparing supper - 4 different pizzas and a salad - and then a monster clean-up. Then I swept, vacuumed, and cleaned the bathroom. I had two hours to relax before the boys came. Had such a nice visit with them. Alec is really enjoying his new job at a new bakery in Tacoma. He attended culinary school years ago, but his love is baking. And Drew works in the Navy Ship Yard in Bremerton. His current assignment, is working on the Ronald Reagan Aircraft carrier which will be in port for a couple years for service and repairs. Today is an unknown as yet. I have a chiro appt. I could do a load of wash, try to figure out my borders, and we're having leftover pizza for supper (even after sending lots home with the boys). I think I'll also make baked apples with my leftover Granny Smiths. We're going to have some nice weather this coming week, so you will be finding me out in the yard for a while each day.

Wishing everyone, but especially LORI, full bobbins today!

Sunny and will be a warm day.

We had a nice lunch yesterday with our friends and their son and his girlfriend joined us. Garry liked that because he had new people to tell his stories and jokes to. I loaded the Jeep with my sewing stuff after we got home. Not that I should have, but then relaxed on the porch and watched the birds.

I will have to work fast today to get everything ready and load all that I can. Things like CPAPS and dog food get loaded in the morning. I will do a little house cleaning, too, I hope.

Have a wonderful day.

Good morning!

It's cloudy, but looks to be very nice.

First off, heavens no, I don't lead a choir! A Ward is a small congregation. Each Ward is about 350 members, that live in a couple of blocks of each other. Our neighbors make up a Ward. Sarah lives in a different Ward than we do, even though we are only a few blocks from each other. Daniel too, is in a different Ward. The church organizes a group of Wards, around 10, together to make a Stake. In organizing this way, we are close, to help each other, without getting lost in a huge group. I know my Ward members and many others throughout my Stake too. So I do the music in my Ward and about 200 people attend weekly. I get to sit in the "soft" seats, the choir area. In our chapels, the choir sits up oo the stand in the front of the congregation. I get to see everyone's face and the antics of all the littles! That's hilarious at times! In our Sacrament Service, we sing a opening hymn, have a opening prayer, take the Sacrament, and have several speakers. To break up time between the speakers, we sing a hymn, or a member does a solo or the Ward choir does a number. The speakers finish, then we have a closing hymn and a closing prayer. All this in a hour. The Ward choir are members that want to sing, all volunteer. Now with all that , the Tabernacle Choir that everyone knows is a volunteer group. You have to pass a audition and have a large background of music training, as well as a voice to sing. There are approximately 350 members of that choir. Same with the orchestra, all volunteer. The choir brings in guests, like those children. To make that video, those children submitted a form, to volunteer and were chosen from all over the valley here. Rehearsals were held for several weeks before they made the video. That video was made in what is the Conference Center, next to the Salt Lake Temple. It seats, 25,000 people. The Conference Center is where we hold General Conference, twice a year. Many church productions are done there. It's used quite often! In the church, you don't pick and choose which Ward you attend, it's by where your house is. You just pitch in and share what talents and time you've been given. It's not surprising to see God's hand at work in each Ward. God makes sure that each Ward has who is needed to work to make the Ward run. That's why, I have taught quilting, taught the lessons in Sunday school, primary and my activity day girls here. Now I do the music for Sunday services. And I can't read music! Knowing what note on the music sheet is a A or a G! I know what each note is counting in time, quarter note, half note, etc, and the conducting patterns that are standard. So I learn the hymns by hearing them and singing them, to be able to do the music. Some of the new hymns the church is adding to the hymnal do give me a run for my money! Now, y'all know more workings of the church. I love it!

Today is reclaim the Batt Cave! The littles have everything, toy wise, out, all over. Good time to sort and donate!

Sarah and Joseph got home safely, around 7:30 last night. Road tired and hungry.

Off to put all the dishes away, and feed Mr G,

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Every morning before I log on here, I click through the news online just to kind of be aware of what's happening outside of my 4 little walls. Was so surprised to see news of the Pope's passing. May God open His arms to welcome his humble servant home.

Judi... Just about every morning, my first thought is "what am I going to fix for supper" and in some ways I'm so grateful I don't have a spouse to feed as well---I'd sure be stuck trying to think of good meals! I can get by on peanut butter and jelly!  Hope your boo-boos are an easy fix!

Lois.... Did you cook a lot of extra food on purpose so kids would have leftovers? Great idea! I'm lucky, I got to bring leftovers home yesterday from Easter dinner!

Maryz.... What is a "Caret" I looked on my upper left corner and I see a left pointing arrow adn the refresh arrow. I've tried control z without much luck, but then nothing will save you when you click the X on the whole darn window! Can't wait to see your NY quilt all done. You will deserve a HUGE "atta girl" for that one! It's stunning and I am SOOOOOO impressed as it is something completely out of my wheelhouse!

Lyn.... Always nice to have a new audience isn't it. I find myself sometimes ( a lot) forgetting what stories I've already told... maybe I just need to make some more new friends so I don't have to worry about it. You must be getting ready to hit the road. Are you going to be spending time in Estes this year?

Jana... I too watched the video! What an amazing achievement to get all those folks lined up and in perfect harmony. Such beautiful voices. I remember my Mom talking about the Morman Tabernacle choir as she loved the amazing voices.

Chriss... Your little figure is so darn cute! Wouldn't it be fun if we could make them for real and then trade and collect them with each other! Is it on Facebook that you can do that? I'm afraid I'd need much larger packaging to get my big butt in a package tho! Love your recipe for tortilla rolls ups! I do kind of like fresh spinach and often think to put it on my grocery list, but you have to buy such a big package that I know it would all go bad before I could finish it.

Lori.... How is it going working at Dad's house? Will you eventually sell the house? It took us a little more than a year to get my folks house all cleaned up and sold after my Dad died. It was quite a project to get the stuff out, (we had the biggest dumpster we could find) and paint everything and wash all the windows etc. Do you have siblings that can help you?

Had a delightful time at Sara's folks yesterday. Always a lot of noise and activity with all the grandchildren there. Corinne is the oldest at 16, the youngest is 7 or 8 and they do love to be rowdy! The sound of children laughing and playing is music to my ears! Sara's Dad used to own an old-fashioned Meat Market but just sold it a month or so ago so he's getting used to be retired. And lucky me, I got some left-over ham---that will go great with my scrambled eggs for supper---there I have tonite's meal!

Today I'm headed to the sewing room to whip up more patches. I'll get those running while I work on the baby girl quilt. But first.. more coffee and a little shine up in the kitchen.
If you need me I'll be in the sewing room

Have a Marvelous Monday

Good morning everyone. Yes Maryz, the Pope past away, sounds like in the early hours of the morning. I think we forget he actually has family who will be grieving as siblings, etc. Wonder who will be the next Pope.

Maryz I do try the control/z keys but have never had it work. I will have to try the other method next time. I looked back and seems like it's been since possibly December 2008 since Scrappie has posted. Not sure how to correctly use the search tab. Wonder if she is still around? When did you join, maybe she was already gone. She lived in Minnesota I think?

Jana I did watch your video. Very nice song. I love listening to the Choir, they always do such a good job. And more important to me, they sing the songs the way they were written. I am always leary of watching the beginning of sport games as so many singers mess up the Stars Spangled Banner.

Judi sounds like you are busy at your machine. I will get back to mine probably tomorrow. I have to go to the sleep clinic today and get DGD quilt in the mai. Also need to get Xavier BD present in the mail. I will miss you and Lois in the laundry room today, mine was done yesterday. Well I do have somew stuff in the dryer to take care of it.

Lori those bobbins can be a pain. They need to figure out a way to make them bigger!

Maryq look about the back arrow, right next to where it says Quilt in a Day. Up at the very very top. I didn't see it at first either.

I am feeling better but really have to watch what I eat. The neighbor brought over some smoked brisket and we ate that last night. Maybe I will about that twice next time. I usually do okay with meat so didn't really think about it. Not sure how he smoked it though.

Sewing is behind as usual. If I could get DH to stop messing things up as soon as I clean them, and they stayed clean for more than a day, I could get to it. But that will never happen. So I will now sew for a few days and try to forget the house. Dished are done, so be it.

But for now I best get packages addressed and get ready to leave. Would like to mail before my appointment. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today. We should see anywhere from 77 to 84 depending on who you believe.

I have one load in the wash with a few to follow. Most everything will be hung on the line, mostly sheets and quilts. While there is a lot to do there will be no yard work today. I plan to get my oscillating fans cleaned up and ready for summer. Those fans really gather dust and such, glad they come apart for washing and dusting.

Lori, hope you found what you were looking for at your dad's. When you talk about going through your dad's house my mind thinks of my dad's house, it's equally jammed pack full of stuff and like yours, will take time. Fun to see the family gathering set ups on your walk. The family across the street had an egg hunt and I heard a little kid yell, I found one, it was right here. I heard this many times, that kid had a fun egg hunt.

Judi, I too am humble often, lots of oopsies here. I will also be spending my morning in the laundry room, I'll bring the coffee.

Lois, Glad everyone got to take home food. While I love leftovers sometimes there are just too many to eat. Glad you had a nice gathering. Hoping the doctors appointment is quick

Maryz, I love pizza, I bet that yours, being home made, was wonderful. I remember a Scrappie 66 but wasn't she that gal from England who passed away?

Lyn, I love listening to the birds. We have a meadowlark or two that sing to me often. And a mocking bird has moved in, I really love him. And the doves coo all day. Glad you had a nice lunch and Garry had a new audience.

Jana, thanks for the video, love the hymn. I like the description of your Ward, not so big you get lost in the crowd and small enough to know eachother.

Maryq, I love the sound of the kids too. their squeals are the best. I also love ham with scrambled eggs, add a hand full of fresh spinach and it's a great meal. The action figure is a app I downloaded called ChatGPT. it's an AI thing. You type in what you want and load a picture and it takes a few minutes but comes up. It's called the Barbie Box Challenge. if you google that you will see how it works. A caret is the thing above the number 6 on your keyboard. I don't have one in my upper left either.

Valerie, you made me laugh about DH messing things up after you clean them. I have a fairly un-messed up house and it hasn't helped my sewing one little bit. too funny. Are you having your sleep study soon or just getting yoru results?

There are many factors telling me I need to start my day. My washer is ready, There is no one left here to answer, and the sun is now shinning in my face. Guess I need to get dressed, hang up the sheets and put in the next load.

I have no clue what dinner will be. I thawed some hamburger on the counter yesterday and am wondering if I should eat it so I won't. The rest of my day will be sewing, laundry and a jigsaw puzzle.

You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Chriss, I did find what I needed. I also worked in the yard there a bit. I too need to clean the patio fan before it gets too hot. I do the ceiling fans regularly. It's amazing how much dust they collect.

Valerie, I have a big bobbin in my Bernina, but I still run out.

Maryq, I too saw that the Pope died. I wonder who will take his place.

Lyn, I think Bill and Garry would have a great time together. Bill loves to tell his stories to anyone that will listen as well. It's always fun to get new ears.

I've had a busy morning with just a bunch of stuff. I had to buy some gardening tools for dad's house. The ones he had were breaking because they were old.

I gotta run. Lunch is ready.

Chriss I already had the sleep study and got my results. I went today to the CPAP class and picked up a loaner to try to see if I am interested. While there I got a message from my PCP to remind me its time for my annual CT scan to see if the mass on my adrenals has changed. I forgot all about that thing. They should call me for an appointment.
