Comfort Quilts

Hi everyone ☺️
I just wanted to let you all know that I'll be stepping down on the comfort quilts project. I took over this from Judi in March of 2015 (10 years ago) we have really spread some love and hugs over the years. Maryz and Chickie have really helped me out too from the beginning, there were times that i just couldn't have made it through without their help.
The inventory we have is:
At my house I have 13 completed tops and 6 bindings, no backings and no batting and I have $2.60 left and I do have 1 quilt quilted.
At Maryz house she has 23 total ; 17 completed tops and 6 quilted and bound and she has enough batting to quilt 9 or possibly 10 more and she has less than $40.
That being said I know our forum has really shrunk and most everyone left has probably received at least 1 comfort quilt over the years. I don't know if anyone wants to take over, if you do then you'd have to pay the postage to get everything to you. If nobody wants to take over them I propose to donate what we have to a local group in each mine and Maryz's location so there's no expense of shipping. Maryz would keep 2 comfort quilts and the almost $40 to send to a future person in our forum when needed.
I hope all that makes sense.
You can either comment here or pm and let me know your vote or if you want to take it over.
Tina

Tina, thank you for doing this for so long. It actually started out as breast cancer quilts and grew into what you made it. I did the BC quilts for 5 years. I say donate the quilts to charity, or use them for yourself.
I agree with the postage being so high now it's just too expensive to mail them out.

First Tina you are truly an Angel to be quilting these last quilts on a hurting foot. Thank you so much to you, MaryZ and Chickie (miss her) for giving of your time, talents and some of your own supplies. I agree, the tops or any finished quilts should be donated to somewhere in your areas that can put them to good use.

I want to join everyone else in thanking our own "El's Angels"....It certain was a lot of work but appreciated by so many...I remember when Jim received his quilt and couldn't believe that ladies that he didn't know actually made something for him....We were beyond being thrilled....When he passed, he was holding his quilt and I now keep it across the bottom of my bed....Will never be able to thank you enough for all you've done.......Love to all, do think about you all so often...Hoping to get back into the quilting mojo soon......
