Good Morning Ladies
Its cold here . Only 36 but windy. I wont be working outside today. I do need to run to bank.
I have already done dishes and swept kitchen floor and sent out a bill.
Lyn Safe travels. Will you reach your destination today.
Judi I hope you hair dresser doesnt pull a prank on you . No purple hair for you. That soup really sounds good here too.
Yesterday I was working on a new MUUMUU . I need a couple of new ones for summer. The one I am working on I made too large so yesterday I cut it down. I should have finished several this winter. I have fabric for several more. After I finish this one the others will have to be worked in.
Today after bank trip I will be working Finishing dress then back to my heart bargello. I purchased a book {BARGELLO HEARTS BY NANCY PODOLSKY} . The book tells you how to do this project from start to finish.
You can make different sizes. I always thought bargello was hard . Its not but time consuming. When its finished Ill have someone post a picture for me. Dont hold your breath It will be a while.
Barney is doing well. Hes a spoilt brat but so darn cute.
Well its time for me to get ready so I can get back to sewing.
You all have a great sewing day.
Katy and Barney

Good morning,

Our friend, Doyle, is having back surgery today so I hope his surgeon has no tricks today either, Judi!

LYN - Happy meeting day to you and Garry! Wishing you traveling mercies today. Oh, and the party at Terry's went well. Everyone loved Gene. As far as I know he's got the stamp of approval from the entire family. And of course, her kids - all in late 50's, have always loved him so they are very happy for her. We are, too.

MARY Q - so what did you and your friend discuss about starting a quilting group? Did you get anything settled?

LOIS - glad your DH's neck is better but sorry about your elbow. That Biofreeze is almost like an anesthetic - on some things, anyway. Which type to you prefer? Spray, cream, gel? Terry & Gene won't be leaving until after Wed at the earliest. They've ordered two new recliners and they can't be picked up at Lazy Boy until Wed. Plus, there's more people to see while Gene is down here.

JUDI - Glad you didn't go out in the explosion! Did you ever discover what it was? Bill usually makes our bed, too, most mornings. But when we strip and wash the sheets, we do it together.

TINA - loved your pictures of Jazmine! She is truly beautiful! I'm glad she has embraced her glasses. They enhance her looks even more!

VAL - whoosh! Bet you are busy. When do you leave on the fishing trip? Is this just a fun gathering or is this really when the family stocks the freezer for the year? And what kind of fish?

LORI - Been thinking of you - every time I pass my own dad's picture in my hallway. Hope you are doing OK. And how was line dancing yesteray?

CHRISS - That photo is ADORABLE! Forget the frame - that photo needs to be enlarged, turned into a "painting", and hung over the fireplace! Oh - and you'll need to get a fireplace. :D Oh, and with the Libby app, you'll need a library card if you don't have one. You can download books, magazines, and I don't know what else.

JANA - I hope they will revisit the idea of a new knee one day soon. Have you tried Biofreeze or other topical pain relief agents?

KATY - I'd love to see a photo of your muumuus that you make and your bargello heart when you are done. You are right - Bargellos aren't difficult, but definitely time-consuming, and you have to pay attention. And having a design wall is almost a must - at least for me it was. Seven years ago I made a twisty-turny queen sized one for my DGS's 21st birthday - all in shades of orange. He loves orange. My eyes were pulsing by the time I finished that quilt but he was happy with it.

Yesterday was cleaning and laundry day downstairs. Plus I went through my overstuffed tee shirt drawer and purged out another big plastic shopping bag full, in addition to a few swimsuits. My dresser can breathe again! This makes a total of four large boxes of misc stuff donated and three large bags of goodies from my closet in the past few weeks. I did work an hour or two on a NYB block. This one's a toughie. I'm going to take another run at it today. I've invited Gene and Terry for pot roast supper any night before they leave but so far neither has answered. I'm guessing they went visiting out of town friends and family.

Supper tonite is up in the air - could be pot roast (if so, add a grocery trip to my day), or we might have grilled burgers.

Happy today!

Good morning!

The only joke played here was by Mother Nature! There's close to six inches of snow on my deck! Enough to need to plow, but most of the plow drivers have put away the blades on their trucks. Jokes on us!

Aaron stopped by last night and I had him bring up my Easter decorations from the Batt Cave. So that's today's project. I thought there was 4 boxes, but he only found three. No squirrels running around here, just bunnies! I have a favorite skinnie, it's a chocolate bunny with a bite out of his ear. Time to get my quilts out too.

Not much here,

Enjoy the day!
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning All!!

Happy April Fools day!!

Judi...It's a soup day here too, we won't even hit 40* today and I do believe we have rain/snow in the forecast. I hope your hairdresser has no tricks up her sleeve and sends you home with green hair!!

Lyn.... Wishing you an easy drive from beach to house!

Katy.... Good luck with your bargello quilt. I tried it once and decided it just wasn't for me. I think it takes a whole level of concentration that I don't have!:-)

Maryz... Good news that the families all got along at the party. Gene has kids that live in AK too right? You just might motivate me to clean out drawers and closet too. I have clothes in the back end that I haven't worn since I moved them over to this house 3 years ago!! Might be time to let them go! Had a fun meeting with my co-conspirator for a quilt group. We are going to try to use a room at the Library to hold an initial meeting and see what happens after that.

Flo... You are a brave woman to have all those kids at your house!! But then I've always said brave is just a step away from crazy!

Jana.... Oh gosh, the bunny with a bite out of his ear sounds darling!! Years ago there was a greeting card with that bunny and it was so stinkin' cute. I have a book full of seasonal skinnies, but the only one I've made so far is for 4th of July! Gosh, I wonder where I put that book?

Tina... In case you stop by... I looked at all of Jaz's pictures ! OH My Gosh!!! What a beautiful young woman. She is gorgeous and I almost got schmoopy!

Chriss... So fun to see the 4 generations picture! How cool that your Dad got to see little Elliott!! Such of fun age for Elliott now as he interacts with you.

Lori.... You are taking line dancing lessons? How fun!!! Does Bill go with you? I love to watch all sorts of different kind of dancing. In college once I tried to line dance with other girls in my dorm to "Heard it through the Grapevine" but I am so not coordinated that I failed miserably.

Didn't get much sewing done yesterday, Aimee,( the gal that's doing quilt group with me) sat and talked for quite a while. She is an RN who works for the Minneapolis school district setting up and training for the school nurses in their various schools. Quite interesting. And she's also a lawyer!! I was impressed. Anyway, we had a nice chat about quilting and what we'd like to see for our little group. Not sure how much sewing I'll get done today either as I have some computer work to do: type up minutes from last association board meeting (tho I don't know why I bother, the president changes it all) And I'd like to type up some notes for quilt group.

Oh and here's some good news.. My niece in Colorado had her baby boy on March 25th (about 4 weeks early) 6lb 1oz 19" (Dad is 6'5") Everett James. Mom and baby are good. Baby will spend a little while in NICU until lungs are good to go. Now I can make a label for his quilt and get that in the mail

Now, I'm off for more coffee! Have a terrific Tuesday every one!

Good morning everyone, Started off yesterday at UPS to return an Amazon delivery my son had sent to us. Ordered a fishing pole, they sent the wrong one Then dropped so things off a second hand store, then post office, then ran by the Vacaville Joann's. This time did find a project box that I bought. Then off to open sew. Got the binding sewn on the back of my purple quilt (can't remember the name) and worked some more on my log cabins. Was too tired last night to do much.

This morning I have pressed up some more scrubs and packed to drop off at another second hand store. Also have some books and silverware to go. Got the list made for the fishing trip. Will add to it as I remember more things. One load of laundry started. I have received the final months of my Radiance Quilt and Windsong. I have to call the motorcycles insurance as my DSIL is still on it and he has his own now. It's currently rest time. They come due pretty fast now, LOL.

Judi yes, lets make sure your hairdresser has no tricks. What a way to wake up! Did you ever figure out what the emergency was? You are correct about the knee. Some people can never kneel after replacement.

Lois your last elbow? Did you loose one?

Maryq I do not under any circumstances appreciate last minute guests. I do not pop in at people's houses and expect others not to do the same to me. I know that sounds awful but it just is. I'm glad you had a good time though. I always had much appreciation for school nurses. They have to deal with some horrendous things at times.

Lyn isn't packing fun? I would be excited to get in the sew space also.

Jana sorry to hear they won't do the knee replacements. They told my friend no new hip due to her weight and guess what, they eventually did it anyway. There is a higher risk for anesthia problems but how much pain medication can we take. I try to only take it at night but then the pains do slow me down a lot. Used to be able to get up and have the house cleaned before I went to work. Now I can't even get through a room before I have to stop.

Tina most of my quilts don't get used. I have the one on the bed, one on the couch, one on the back bed and my sisters hangs over the reccliner. All the others are right now folded up on JoJo's bed. I have been considering what I could do to store them better.

Chriss I just can't get over that picture. It is just too cute. Something to cherish for sure. Did you get to town and parent's house? I will have to sort and toss slowly. Only so much I can do in a day. We really need to paint inside and out. But we will see.

Lori this should be the only year I have to pay so much. I just could not believe it. You know I have never had tortelini soup. Is it tomato based? Line dancing? That sounds fun.

Maryz we do fish every day, well they do. It depends on the results of the fishing, what we bring home. Some years are good, some are not. I probably won't go more than once or so unless they need supervision of the kid on the boat. They have never been on a boat so time to start teaching boat behavior, get them used to the jackets. We will see how it goes. If they are going to be anywhere near the water, they must have their life jackets on.

Well gues I should get back to what chores I may be able to get through. Also need shower and some errands to run. Have a great day everyone.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful slightly gloomy day today. Apparently, the rain will start in a few hours and last the afternoon. Looks like I won't need to water the tomatoes today.

I'm debating about what to do today. It's either going to be a couple of thrift stores or work on that little chair I'm trying to strip. I wish I could find a dunk tank of stripper, let it soak and the paint would just magically disappear, but I am not finding that. They just don't sell the stuff that used to work when I was younger.

Judi, enjoy your haircut and soup. Sounds like a great you day.

Lyn, are we there yet? safe travels to you.

Katy, you've been busy this morning. Each time I see a mumu in a thrift store I think of you. I can post a picture of them for you if you'd like me to.

Maryz, you made me laugh. when I go through my drawers I imagine my closet or dresser exhaling a bit. I love a good pot roast. Even a small one makes a few meals for me. I used to have a library card, It's here someplace, but I can always get another one. I have the app loaded on my phone because I am technologically savvy like that. I love a good grilled burger, I'm also considering giving up my bbq. It's so much to load with charcoal and get ready for a couple of patties or a steak. If I don't use it this summer it's gone.

Jana, I am not a decorator but also don't have grands running around and am a ways from having easter egg hunts. happy decorating.

Maryq, Yay for a new baby. So? do you think you will get that quilting group started?

Valerie, do the grands know how to swim? They will have fun on this trip. I was surprised I didn't have to pay taxes for 2024. I took that chunk of money out of my IRA to buy the car. I don't forsee any needs this year so I am probably good to go. Yes, dad's house is now clean and good for another week. I would really liek to paint the inside of the house too. What I don't want to do is move all that furniture, such a job.

Allrighty, I think I have decided to hit the thrift stores. But first breakfast and a walk outside with my dog. Perhaps some breakfast will be good too.

Dinner will be taco salad made with the rotisserie chicken I have thawed out. I'll add olives and black beans, yum.

Have a fun day
