Thursday March 27th
Good morning I am headed to the kitchen to bake some bread, I baked on monday but the grandson always hungry came over the last 2 days and I need to bake more...Ken has decided he wants homemade bread and I love making it,
Had a nice quilt guild meeting last night about 15 ladies showed up and per usual everyone had a good time. We have another QOV ready to present so we will get in touch with the Veterans lady to get someone picked...
I need to make a few more blockes for our next quilt.
It is cold here Mother Nature did not get the memo that it is spring,,,we are at 29 this morning,,,
Hope you are all having a great morning and a great day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

Re: Thursday March 27th
Good morning,
JUDI - Mmmm..... I can smell that bread from here! I love making anything, quilts or bread, for folks I love. When I was little, we lived on homemade bread and homemade butter, too. Such a treat! Your grands are very lucky! And really?? Your Redwings fans toss octopuses (octopi?) onto the ice when they are within 8 games of playoffs? Ugh!! Who thought up that tradition?? Poor octopus. I guess the Seattle Kracken fans toss salmon (think salmon toss at Pike Place Market) but they are plush toy salmon.
LOIS - are you painting the entire house or just your sewing room? Are you doing it or having it done by a painter? What color is your sewing room? Mine is lemon yellow with white lace curtains. What quilt did you cut out?
DENISE - good to see you! And I'm glad you received the quilt. And I think it was divine inspiration that you received butterflies. So happy it brought you that warm quilty hug this group is known for.
LORI - I know you will be busy in the coming few weeks. But we're thinking of you!
VAL - I hope they can pinpoint your sister's diagnosis. I think you mentioned a rash? Or did I dream that. Anyway, it made me think of Lupus with the butterfly facial rash. And I thought of you last week when I was getting my rings cleaned. You and your topaz blocks. I think we mentioned topaz being a gold color, and I think in your pattern it shows a gold color. Yet as they cleaned my rings, I wandered the jewelry store and saw a display of topaz and it was all more of an aquamarine color. So I Googled it. I learned true topaz is actually clear, but some stones pick up impurities and it can be any color under the rainbow. But I always think of it as gold.
JANA - glad you loved your beignets. (and thanks for teaching us the spelling!) I'm sure they were delicious! We spent 3 days in The Big Easy about 23 years ago and got to taste them. Heavenly! Thanks for the memories. I just had to Google recipes after you mentioned them and found a short Emeril Legasse tutorial. Great news about your eyes! We've skated into stations on fumes before, too. Nerve-wracking!! But fortunately, most fuel tanks actually hold more than the capacity stated in the manuel. Sometimes as much as 3% more. Because of configuration of the tank and also to allow for expansion. That little bit has saved our bacon more than once! (btw, I didn't know all this. Once more, I asked Google. I'm learning a lot this morning!)
LYN - sorry your day didn't go as planned, but you got a lot done = all those reservations and a plan for MH parking. That's actually is a lot more than it sounds like. And a relief to have it all done. You deserve a day of beading/relaxing! Bill finished our taxes yesterday. Double ugh! We have to pay. A lot.
CHRISS - I bet it's going to turn into summer at your house soon. Probably all in one day. Did you find any tomato plants? Our temps are still ranging in low 50's, so no tomato plants here yet. But more importantly - did you get the Moose Chow?? Does Moose get a usual brand? Scottie was getting Natural Balance w/ Limited Ingredients because he's always had a tender tummy, but after the last illness, his doctor decided that he deserved an even more expensive brand so now he's on Royal Canin Rx food. He loves it. But I'm hoping we can go back to his regular kibble when he sees her again for his follow-up appt April 10th. For now, he's doing OK, though, and back to his regular self except for his arthritic hips for which he takes a pain pill.
DIANE - I was hoping for better numbers for Joe when he repeated his labs. But hang in there and keep faith. I've already said some prayers for him - and for you.
MARY Q - no jet lag here as it's only one hour time difference. But I have to say, I was exhausted. And no, as far as Gene knows - there is no solid wedding date yet. He did tell us that when he told people at church that he's getting married (he's very active, attends Mass every day, and is Alaska's oldest serving alter boy. Alter Old Man?) the ladies got excited and started planning a wedding for him. He is coming down our way today to get Terry's stuff all transported to the trucking terminal to be shipped north and then, after a gathering on Sunday to meet all her 8 siblings (I've known them all since I was in first grade but he's never met them), and then they will start driving north in Terry's small RV with her dog, Mick. I guess when they get back to NP, they will get married. It will be that simple. Americorp has been around for a long time. Autumn was involved with them when she was in college. They do a lot including sending volunteers to foreign places like the Peace Corps which is what she had been looking into. But I don't know what all they do now.
FLO - sorry for the man flu. Hope it's gone soon. you are babysitting 5 kids?? How old are they? All day long? that is a big ask! You must be a saint.
KATY - you wear me out with your spring cleaning. I think you would shake your head at what I call my spring cleaning. lol!
Yesterday I unpacked, did 3 loads of wash plus the 6 yds of red batik fabric I bought at Northern Threads, and got some packages ready to mail. I reheated frozen chili for supper. That was my entire day and it wore me out. I fell asleep in my recliner by 6pm. We were supposed to have a huge storm last night, but if we did, I didn't hear a bit of it! Not sure what I'm going to do today. Maybe I will circle back to my NYB. I left Block #37 prepped and ready to go. I plan on baked chicken for supper, with mashed potatoes/gravy, and brussels sprouts. I probably won't see Gene today. He'll be at Terry's - which is 2 miles from our house. But, because we have a pick-up, Bill will be involved in the hauling of Terry's things to Fife (the town where Linden trucking terminal is located). For starters she has a LA, 3 sewing machines, several boxes of fabric. Not sure where it's all going in Gene's house, but they'll figure it all out, I'm sure.
Have a great day!

Judi - thanks for the additional info on the octopus throwing. We here would love to be the Yeti, but it appears to be leaning towards the Mammoths. Humm, can you imagine throwing one of those on the ice, that is if you could even find one!

Good Morning Girls
Another bright sunny day... could it be that spring is really here! Do I dare put away the winter coat??
Judi... Oh how I love home made bread!!! But my expertise in baking bread is limited to Rhodes frozen bread dough. Once in a while I will make it---thawed and cut into chunks with a piece of cheese stuffed inside--throw in the pan, raise and bake!! When you slice it, there's a nice marbling for cheese inside. Oh gosh, now I might have to put that on my grocery list!!
Maryz... Oh that's right, you are only an hour different from AK. Guess I was thinking in terms of the 3 hours from here. Will be nice to see Gene again even for a little while. I knew of Peace Corp, as my nephew Jason served in Africa for two terms many years ago, but not sure I realized what Americorp was. The one here is involved or partnered with over 100 different area projects---food shelves, schools, libraries etc. Since and Katie and I are such home bodies we've decided we will do just about anything that can be done at home. And since we both have adequate fabric stashes we can use up some of it to make the items they needs. And since I have a yarn stash as well, I can knit and crochet little items too.
Lois... How exciting to get a fresh coat of paint and new floors!!! It's a pain in the pa-toot to move everything but worth it. Are you getting carpet or LVP plank floors? Have you picked out paint yet?
Jana... Congratulations to Stuart on his new vehicle! That was fast, I would have guessed the insurance company would take weeks to settle the claim on his car.
Katy.... Don't you almost feel like a whole new woman with a good hair cut!!!
Flo.. You are a brave woman to take on all those moms and kids!!
Valerie.... Hope you are feeling so much better today.
Guess I better push self away from computer and get in gear. I'm showered and think I'll run down to my CPA's office and pick up my tax papers. As always I hope for a refund but even if I get one it won't amount to much, but the sooner I get them e-filed the sooner I get a refund.
Off I go wishing you all a great day!

Maryz the rash is everywhere, not the butterfly rash of lupus. I am thinking Hashimoto's possibly
. That doesn't explain the rash but her other symptoms line up with it. Hashimoto's does I believe have a genetic component and my Mom had it. Autoimmune disorders can be hard to diagnose.

Judi, fresh bread is always yummy.
Maryz, I'm tired just from reading your list of yesterday.

Hi Ladies,
Yes we are going to be painting and I'm using Benjamin Moore magnolia collection it neutral colors and then when we're done with that will call the contractor and see about the floors.
No I'm not painting the sewing room it was done a few years ago that's why I've been cleaning and decluttering this room everything will be on wheels much easier to empty when the floor needs to be done I'm almost finished and it's going to be much easier on me because I can pull the cabinet out look and get what I want I'm learning not to buy fabric just because I like it
.
Well that's it for me.
Lois

Hello everyone I’ve been MIA for many reasons our internet was spotty but it’s fixed First it was the Hurricane 6 months ago Which is far from being back in order It will be ongoing for years Now itsforest fires everywhere around here & in close Mtns Lots have evacuated
Then I started having episodes in February and this month I have Cardiologist apt April 29 I wore Heart Monitor My Dr called today and I go on Tuesday April 1 so I should find out something then
Plus my family here keeps me busy Saturday both my Sons and wives came to visit And Denise came last week too

I am so behind with everyone I would request prayer for the fires and for me with my Issue about my Heart

Re: Thursday March 27th
Hi everyone!
Mt PT is taking up a little over an hour to do every day so I'm trying to carve out that time but it looks like it's taking away my here time.... I'll get it figured out hopefully. I'm still pretty much the same so the Dr called me in a refill of the steroid to see if it needs another round...it helps but man oh man does it trigger my hot flashes! We're in the 80's now in the daytime and 50's at night.
I've gotta go hang clothes up out of the dryer now, it was laundry day here today.
I hope you all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need
Tina
Oh, I posted pics of Denise's quilt in the projects of the heart.
