Good morning everyone, hope you all had a good nights sleep.

I did get some sewing done yesterday and things prepared for my Saturday Open Sew. I will take my next APQ blocks and log cabins from my MC quilt. I also got some binding done on the Owl quilt. I decided not to mail it as we have been having trouble with mail here. I did file a complaint with the post office and that worked for about 10 days but now again, yesterday, the mailman never came. I do use informed delivery so I know what should come.

I called my sister yesterday and her phone was off. I thought that weird but who knows, maybe she was charging it. But after a few hours my BIL called and said my sister was in the hospital. They don't know really what is wrong. She had symptoms of a black widow bite so they did give her the antivenom only she didn't get any better. They also searched her over good and couldn't find a bite mark. Didn't think she had had a heart attack. So they did admit her. Haven't heard back from BIL so will call today. He has Parkinson's and his memory is not great so he does have a hard time with retaining dr. information. She is just 61. If you wouldn't mind adding her to your prayers. He remembers the dr said something about her pancreas but that was all he remembered. I will also try to contact her daughter today. She lives in the Spokane area so not sure how much more info she may have.

Today I plan to work some more on my next MC, attend to the bathroom uglies and maybe do a cupboard in the kitchen. We will see if I feel like climbing the ladder. But for now, I need to get something to eat. I may be back later. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning,

Rain and 45*. Nice day. At least it's not windy. And we do need the rain. Things are still busy busy here. Last night had Tex & Annette for supper in addition to my sis & dbil. Tina and I were gone most of the day, came home, made supper, and then cleaned up after supper. By the time I got to bed I fell asleep and didnt' wake up until 0500! I haven't slept through the night in years! I bounced out of bed, made coffee, emptied dishwasher, refilled it, washed pots and pans, swept the floor, fixed Scottie's meds and foods for when I am gone to AK, and now it's 0600 - finally sitting with my coffee to chat with all y'all.

FLO - finding furniture that fits your body, sits comfortably, and is affordable is a challenge. This is the third year we've been meaning to find new loveseats for the living room - or 1 love seat and two easy chairs. Glad you found yours. I would love to see a photo of it?

LOIS - happy anniversary! It's also my brother's 90th birthday today. (Party is going to be 22nd). You are really reworking your room! Are you doing things as drastic as paint or just rearranging? It's always surprising to see what we've managed to pack in over the years, isn't it.

JUDI - happy birthday to Liam tomorrow! So, does he consider himself an Aries or a Pisces? I think a pizza party at home with family is an ideal way to celebrate! And congrats to him for making the team! Hope you get more stitching time today. How many are you stitching? Are the embroidery patterns included in the quilt pattern or are you doing your own thing? And how did your dr appt go yesterday?

LORI - my heart breaks for you and your dad. Seems like he and your mom were just living their good life in their own home. So many changes for you. I've been there. Sending you a big hug!

CHRISS - yay for you! Hug yourself! It ain't easy traveling your path buy you are doing it! And surviving! Sending you a big hug, too! And poor Moose who had to suffer through a bath. Baths are the bane of Scottie's existence. Did you get your TV? Brand? Size? Hooked up? On line there is a chart for the best size TV for optimal viewing given how far you are sitting from the TV set. Less headaches, neck strain, eye strain, clearer picture, etc. Probably should have mentioned that to you before, huh.

JANA - how was the dental appt? Is this pre=op for your big dental event in April? Good tip on IKEA. I didn't realize you could order and have it delivered, but then everyone else does it, so why not IKEA? Makes sense.

MARY Q - did you make a test block for the wedding quilt? You said you chose a pattern from Quilterscache, but you didn't say what pattern - that it was a leaf of some kind? Did you get to walk Zara? They do say people who have dogs are, as a rule, healthier because they get out and walk. Scottie hasn't been walking since he's been sick - it feels strange for me to walk without him.

JUDI (again?!) - switching from plastic to glass might be an excellent idea. Annette ran Scottie on her equipment again yesterday and his system shows some plastic toxicity. His dish is plastic (a gobble-stopping maze design to slow down his eating and give the cat a chance to finish HIS meals). But other than that dish, he isn't around plastic and his food is stored in a ceramic cannister. I think I'll take a page from your book and swap out my plastic stuff for glass.

VAL - so sorry to hear about your sis? Does she live in Spokane or is it her daughter that lives there? Or both? And I'm sorry to hear your bil has Parkinson's. My family is too well acquainted with that disease. Said a prayer for all concerned.

LYN - how's things going?

Life has been a whirlwind here. I am so tired - if I sit down (which I haven't been doing much of!) I fall asleep. Today my sister and I are hitting only the local Goodwill which is about 2 miles from my house. Then we're going to do all the laundry and repack our suitcases (been re-thinking some of our choices). We've both picked up a few "new" clothings in the last few days. Mostly, I've found books and some cute little girl clothes. Can't wait to just sit back and relax on the airplane and read for 4 hours. I've got a lot of new reading choices now! There's been very little sewing opportunities. I did finish NYB #36. 18 blocks to go. I was feeling pretty good about my progress until I realized I have quite the challenge coming up in the border. I've been considering chickening out and skipping the border, but I feel like that's cheating. So I'm sure I'll at least give it a try.

Scottie is just about his old self again. He still could relapse, but for now, he's eating, drinking, peeing and pooping. He's barking at things that need to be barked at and is back to doing some of his quirky activities (like laying outside the bathroom door when someone, especially company, is in there and when they come out he barks and runs down the hall to the living room to bark at the ceiling fan). He's a weird little dog. He has a vet appt in 3 weeks for a re-check.

Supper here is going to be breakfast - bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and English muffins. And if anyone is still hungry, I'll toss them a yogurt.

We leave EARLY tomorrow morning to get to airport. I'm taking my phone and will try to check in when I can over the next four days.

Cooler and windy.

Lois, Happy Anniversary! I hope your new table works out.

Judi, Happy BD to Liam. Since you and Lois aren't in the laundry, I will slip in and do a load.

Valerie, Prayers for your sister and BIL.

Flo, I agree that you have to sit on the furniture to see if it's right.

MaryZ, So good to hear that Scottie is doing better, hope that continues while you are gone. Don't you have 2 sisters in Longmont? Tina's the one that comes to Texas and visits, right? Is the other (if there is an other) sister flying to Alaska for Gene's BD party? Safe travels. Happy Birthday to Gene!

We don't have Tina's dust, just wind. It switched from S to out of the North last night and blew like crazy. Just as I went to bed, Garry decided to open the little side window by his head, which he never does. That lasted about 2 minutes because that window is facing N. I got up and walked around the bed and closed it, too windy to be open.

I made a birthday card for Maddox yesterday and will buy a gift card and get it mailed today. I have the backing sewed together for the coverlet and may try to layer it today. And there's a load of shirts to wash.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Lyn

Good morning!

Should be a nice day here. In between storms. Mother Nature isn't giving into Spring quite yet. I do have daffodils, tulips and hyacinths poking up in the yard. Karlie bought me a flamingo awhile back and it out in the yard now. I have a thing for pink flamingos and have several in my flock.

Yes, yesterday was the pre op for my dental work and it's now finally on the schedule. April 28th. The Dr looked at all the in depth pictures and is quite pleased and feel that it will be a easy textbook surgery. I told him to keep telling me that! I just have to decide which child would fetch the most money, when i sell them to pay for this all! :)

I'll take up the offer of the laundry room. I'll be quick, as I only need to do a load of jeans. Then I'll iron some shirts and be done. Since it's my chores day, I'll get that done too. Then head to play. Sarah will be over sometime today to fuss with computers. My new trackball will be here shortly. I am not a fan of a mouse, so I use a trackball, so much easier! And I do dislike that built-in pad for the cursor, big time!

Ethan went camping last weekend, in a cabin and caught a cold. He's doing better, just coughing, so is home from school.

Time to get going,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning Girls

A little late this morning, but I'm showered and dressed! Need to run to Target this morning and pick up my new-new glasses. Hoping I don't have a problem with this pair!! So glad I didn't put away the winter coat as I definitely need it this morning! Sure don't know what we did to make Mother Nature angry, but she's not a happy girl.

Lois... Happy Anniversary!!! 49 Years!! That's awesome!! Are you going have a big party for your 50th next year? Oh good, I need to do laundry too so it can be my turn. Just for grins, what kind of detergent do you use? I've been trying those sheets instead of pods. I like them ok. I can't lift the big bottles of liquid anymore and I've heard things that maybe the pods aren't so great for washing machines! I need my washer to outlive me!

Judi... Congratulations to Liam for making the team!!! Our high school didn't have a golf team until Kevin and a couple of his friends asked the school if they could start one, back in 1998. I think there's like 30 kids on the golf teams here.

Flo... New glasses for you too?

Valerie.... I have informed delivery too, and I can't tell you the number of times a piece of mail that SAYS it's coming isn't there. And sometimes never comes! I had a package sent to me from California, it went to a PO near me (I could have driven over and picked it up) and then it detoured somewhere else until I finally got it 3 days later!! I thought all the tracking numbers was to help things get there better!! Ah, but it's the government so what do we expect right?
Hope all is well with your sister---sending some good thoughts and prayers

Maryz.... You slept through the night??? Oh gosh, what is that like??? That only happens to me when I take Nyquil!!! I bet it felt really good tho and it sure sounds like you woke up quite refreshed to do all that at 0600! I'm going to test a Maple Leaf block -- I found some fabric in shades of green, gold, reds, a little blues that KC left behind so I'm thinking I will see how that looks. With a little bit of luck I'll be able to complete the wedding quilt from my stash, except for backing maybe.

Lyn..... I won't get to my laundry until later on this afternoon, so you go ahead and start yours.

Jana... When I got my new computer the first thing I did was turn off the mouse pad! I've seen people use it a lot and the little tiny button in the middle of the keyboard (probably on older lap tops) but I just can never get the hang of it. I have a wireless mouse, but trackball sounds interesting.

Lori.... Zara is an English Springer and she is the cutest thing. I'm a black lab person myself, my favorite. We did go on a couple walks but it was so cold and windy here yesterday I had to bundle up and Zara didn't seem to want to spend much time outside either. Good thing I had a baggie in my jacket pocket tho!

Chriss.... Yeh, there is always something going on around here. Comes from having ADD I guess. I really do get bored very easily. I always used to say I was surprised I stayed married as long as I did because I bore easily! I'm trying to sew non-quilt things because as much as I LOVE making quilts, I can only do quilt small ones on my machine and I hate to ask Viv to do any more for me--she's done so many for free and I can't squeeze a local Long arm person into the budget!

Better get butt in gear. I'd like to run to Target this morning and pick up my glasses and get back before an assn board meeting this afternoon. There are days when I really regret volunteering to be secretary for the townhouse association! I type up the minutes, e-mail them to the president and she corrects them :x ! Somedays, I wonder why I bother!! Oh well, IIWII (it is what it is)

Have a wonderful Thursday every one

Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today.

I went and bought a new tv yesterday. I chose a Vizio and got it at Walmart. Their price was the same as target. Next time dad comes up we will hang it on the wall. I had to slide it out of my car and drag it up the steps to my back door, it's in the house now and weighs 30# but it's a long awkward thing to maneuver.

Today the plan is to make mac salad, crock pot granola and perhaps deviled eggs. Tomorrow I will go clean my dad's house and Saturday the kids are coming. It will be a busy few days.

Lori, you and your dad are in my thoughts. consider yourself hugged.

Lois, happy anniversary, wow, 49 years, that's a whole lot of memories.

Judi, we are supposed to see the 70's next week. My uncle used to say Mother Nature is an onery heifer. Hope you win the raffle, what is the prize? happy birthday to Liam, are you making the pizza in your oven?

Valerie, some days I don't even get mail I wish we had informed delivery here. But, if we did, I wouldn't walk down to get the mail each day and the walk is good for me. Sorry about your sister, hope you get more information. Where does she live? Prayers said.

Maryz, have a fun trip. If Scottie is barking at the ceiling fan he's good. Ugh, quilt borders, it's what is stopping me in my tracks. I think I am going to use a fabric that came with the kit but wasn't meant to be a border, and use what was supposed to be the border as the backing. Let me tell you about poor Moose. He's been going out at night and staying out for an easy hour. He stinks again and really could use another bath. I think that one day I will go outside and see an enormous hole to explain all of his staying out.

Lyn, I guess you have Tina to thank for trapping all that dust before the wind brought it to you. Happy birthday to Maddox.

Jana, glad your dental work is scheduled. I hope it's quick and easy and you love the outcome.

Flo, happy new glasses day. Someday I will also find the perfect sofa, but it will be a while, I first need to pry Moose off of the one I have now.

Maryq, Imagine the things you will see with those new glasses. One of the things I did when Jerry got sick was stop volunteering. I've never gone back. Although I did get a questionnaire to fill out because my name came up to be on the grand jury. I'm hoping that they fill all the slots before they get to my name. I like the lack of obligations in my life.

time to boil some macaroni and some eggs. Perhaps a good breakfast first. Again, not sure what dinner will be, probably a salad. quick and easy and almost no cleanup.

You all have a fabulous day,
Chriss

FYI -

Trackballs are wonderful! You don't have to have a clean desk space to use them! They stay where your hand is and you manipulate the little ball with a finger or thumb. So when I have fabric spread from hockeysticks to breakfast, my cursor still can operate! Which is quite often! There are wired trwckballs and wireless ones too. I just got a new wireless one for my new computer. We love them here!

Lois - congratulations on 49 years! That's quite the accomplishment! Definitely have a big party next year! My girls started a few months ago planning for our 50th, this August.
