Good morning,
I'm up and enjoying my coffee and watching murder she wrote.
Yesterday after Bills follow up apt with the Dr we went to Walmart for a little retail therapy also wanted to use my card from the insurance card to get a few things also found frixon pens ,a new laundry thing to carry my wash downstairs mine wasn't any good anymore amongst other things that also jumped in so it was a successful shopping trip.
Also got my thread that I ordered from connecting threads so today I will finish my pillow.
Today Sandi and Virgil will celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary I'm wondering where all the time has gone.
Mary z your New York beauty is stunning and a real masterpiece.
Well that is all the news from here I hope you all have a great day.
Everyone who is traveling safe travels .
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good morning,
LOIS - happy anniv to Sandi and Virgil! I woke up at 3:15 this morning and immediately your thread popped into my head and I was wondering if you'd received it yet. Perhaps because one of my last thoughts last night was wondering if I'd received mine! We ordered ours about a week ago from Superior and we got a text from UPS (where our private mail box is) that we had a package. Fingers crossed it's my thread. Hope you get your pillow finished today.
JUDI - you will be home tonite! Yay for home! You'll be tired when you get there but you'll be home!
Be safe on the road.
JANA - hope the ice/snow didn't get you yesterday. You and Lois are doing a big closet purge. I need to do that, too. I have a hard time getting rid of things that I really like. But my problem is if I really like it, I don't wear it much because I don't want to wear it out. Or I don't want to get it stained. Or I don't want to iron it. So I just HAVE it. It all needs to go.
LYN - I cook squash the same way you do. If we sweeten it we use brown sugar usually. Or go savory with onions, sausage, etc. No, the planned development next door is all approved and site maps are posted on the property out by the road. When I bought my property back in 1986 there were NO developments - it was all woods along my road with a few old timer homes. But over the years several developments have been built. On the five acres behind us they built 29 homes on 5 acres. We did go to the planning meetings protesting that. We got 60 seconds to speak, once. No rebuttal time. The meeting was just for looks. Nothing was going to change. It is what it is. Your little red sewing machine sounds very cute. It will be a fun accent in your cotton cabin.
VAL - you are almost there! Will you lose your medical insurance when you retire? I was thinking of the cost of C-pap . . . The kids left a few items in the house - a table, an antique book shelf, and a TV cabinet. I wanted the book shelf, but everything is so rat-contaminated that I couldn't even bring myself to touch it. But we did rescue a few garden tools from the garage. I'm sorry your free sew and the classes are ending for you, but you can use the packing/unpacking/travel time to sew! And you won't have to pick up everything when you are done for the day. Have you heard how the BIL is doing in Arkansas?
CHRISS - Good to hear you're sleeping much better with your C=pap. I think half the people I know are using it now. I can text you a photo of our toaster oven if you like. It's pretty roomy, but doesn't take up too much counter space. A 9x9 casserole will fit in just fine. It's taller inside than the Ninja Foodie was. It bakes and broils, roasts and toasts. It dehydrates, proofs, and, of course, air frys. Plus, I like the Cuisinart brand. Every Cuisinart appliance I've ever had has lasted 10-15 years. Good luck at Bingo. I love to play, too. Don't care if I win or not - just love the game.
LORI - if there's cheese being handed out, Scottie is there, too! He loves it! I'm happy to hear Dad is more comfortable now. Thank you for the comments on my NYB. It's fun to do and I'd love to have company, though the block I was working on yesterday is frustrating me. I finally walked away. I think this morning I"ve got it now. Sometimes the directions are confusing so I do my own thing and it usually works out better for me. I checked out David Owen Hastings. I saw there are several tutorials. I'll watch one of them later today when I take a break.
MARY Q - yoo hoo!! What's going on with you today?
We went to the memorial yesterday at the Eagles club. About 200 people were there. Some were the same people that were at the memorial we went to last Saturday. I hadn't intended to, but I got up and spoke about some childhood memories. I was the last speaker and was able to leave people laughing so I guess that was a good thing. My plan for the day is to conquer NYB #23, prep #24, and then get back to my cleaning. I still have the entire lower level to do - laundry room, family room, our bedroom and master bath. Supper is going to be either pierogis or orange chicken. Still deciding.
Vicki's house is a pile of debris now. But in that debris were some pretty big beams - 4x8x12. So last night after work was done for the day, Bill used our tractor, "Scout", and dragged them over to our yard. Not sure what we'll do with them, if anything, but they are valuable and we were told we could have whatever we wanted. We just couldn't let them go to the dump.
Happy weekend and may St. Christopher guide Ken & Judi safely home.

Good morning Girls
Happy Saturday!!! I could have sworn I posted yesterday. I bet I forgot to hit submit twice as you sometimes have to do when somebody else is typing at the same time. Not a big deal as I didn't have anything earth shattering to tell y'all.
Lois.... Happy Anniversary to Sandie and Virgil!!! 28 years is a long time!!! Shawn and Kris just celebrated 21 and I'm so proud of them!! It's good to see our kids committed to each other even when the going gets tough!
Maryz.... Really, I was here yesterday!! My post got lost in cyber space I guess. I'm glad Bill was able to grab stuff from Vicki's house. I always thing about that when I see places being torn down--like how much stuff could actually be reused for something. They did a training burn on a gorgeous little house not far from me and I just hope they were able to make sure of some of the interior things before they burned it down. The had to make room for a new round-about in the road. They seem to be a big thing here now, round-abouts every where.
Flo.... Man oh man, that was a busy week. Hope you can take a "day off" and relax a little.
Judi.... Am sure you are on the road, so will send a prayer for safe travel and clear skies all the way home.
Lyn... How is the cabin coming along? Will you get everything set up in the before you head north? Are you going up to Canada this year? Mankato State University is when my son Kevin graduated from, so I know the area well. It's about 1.5 hours south of me.
Valerie..... $60. Dollars a month ????!!!!! I thought $27/month service plan from my natural gas company was bad!!! I bet you are counting the days now!! Do you generally have to see patients on the weekends? Or should be just count 5 more "business days" until you are done? SO happy for you.
Chriss....Hope you find the perfect thing for cooking! I had a little toaster oven that KC left behind, but I ended up never using it so I hid it away. Kevin gave me an air fryer, but I just haven't figured out how to really use it, tho my neighbor swears by it. Sometimes I think it's silly to turn on the whole big oven for just a few chicken strips! Katie has a big thing on her counter that kind of does it all, must be something like you are looking for.
Lori.... Years ago, when MN was in a pretty serious drought--- a local car wash had a sign outside that said "Let's make it rain..... wash your car" It's Murphy's law that when you wash the car it rains.
Remember those chores I was going to do yesterday.... guess what.... I didn't do them!!! I did clean the kitchen, but never got around the washing the floors or dusting or nothing!! Spent the day in the sewing room! I'm working on the new pattern for the baby girl and so far, so good it's working out. Today I'm up and showered and etc and need to run to Target to pick up my new glasses and a few groceries. When I get home I'll probably have do some chores around here before the dust gets any thicker!
Better get going... the sooner I get to Target, the sooner I get home !
Wishing you all the very best today!

Re: Saturday March 8,2025
Good morning!
The sun is shining brightly through my window and is causing a tremendous amount of glare on my screen! That's a preemptive warning of what might get fat fingered here.
Yesterday I de-science-fied my refrigerator and its nice and clean. Then Sarah called and needed me to get Ethan from school and then her a the car dealer. Her car was getting maintenance. So for 9nce last time, we went over to JoAnn's. What a mess and nothing left in what we use. We found a couple of miscellaneous things, but that was it. Sad to see how a very nice company went downhill from when we worked there years ago. Corporate suits have no idea of what the consumer wants, just the suits bottom line of profit. Yes, profit is good, but the bottom line doesn't need to be greedy. OK, no more soapbox. I also washed half the upstairs floor, so will finish that next.
Sarah will be down sometime to set up the new computers. Matt maybe out too. We have docks for the new laptops, so it will be easy to move them around between floors. I'll be sewing. I have a love hate relationship with a computer. Just set it up and don't ask me how to run it - just a simple keystroke to do my thing! And don't mess up the embroidery software to my machine!
Well, , I'm off, floor fairies did finish,
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Saturday March 8,2025
Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today.
I bought a toaster/arifryer/broiler oven at Costco. I haven't used it yet but it's ready to go. I'll give it a shot today. Also on my todo list today is to make some crock pot granola. Along with a few small chores that will be my day.
Didn't win a thing at Bingo last night. I came close a couple of times but instead am out a whopping $18. It was fun but much noisier than it used to be. Maybe it's me but seems that when I go to places it's just loud.
Lois, when you watch tv shows do you start at the beginning or just watch the channel? Some of those older shows are so much better than what is on tv now. And they have three times as many in a series than they do now.
Maryz, your quilt blocks look so labor intensive. Way out of my league. they are just stunning. I vote for Perogi's for dinner. What do you put in yours? Grandma used to use leftover mashed potatoes and cheese or sauer kraut.
Judi, Hope it's an uneventful trip home.
Maryq, Hope you get everything on your list at Target. I also didn't get to any chores yesterday. Today is my have to day, I have to do a few things. I'm going to send those squirrels back to Jana today. I found something like what Katie has. I also hated to heat up the whole oven and rarely used my microwave. This will be fine for me, and it's big enough so I can cook a meatloaf or bake something small, which is how I eat.
Jana, isn't a clean fridge a beautiful thing. Amazing how nice it looks when those shevles have been given a good wash. I agree about Joans, it started going downhill hwen they brought all that cheap made in China stuff. Hobby Lobby is right behind them, and will likely be next in my opinion.
Lori, glad your dad's pain is being managed better. I'm sorry he and you are having to go through this phase of life. extra hugs to you.
Looks like I need to get some breakfast and start my day. Not quite sure what breakfast will be. Not even sure what dinner will be.
You all have a great day
Chriss

Re: Saturday March 8,2025
Good morning everyone
This will be quick.....I started my PT at 7:30 and ended at 9 then went through my email and then came here and read.... it's almost 10:30 and I've got so much to do! Frankie is vacuuming the porch while I'm checking emails and coming here, as soon as he's done then I need to start in our bedroom and bathroom and work my way through the house. The plastic on the windows helped but it still let in quite a bit of sand..... that stuff is so fine it could probably find its way through a bubble. We're supposed to have 3-4 days of 20mph and under winds so hopefully my house can stay clean for those few days. I used to Spring clean once in the Spring, now it's every few days.
We had a busy busy day yesterday, I had PT and Frankie had to go back to the dentist for the dentist to tell him everything looked good, ugh....we had to go to town I 2 vehicles because we weren't sure how long each would be. The dentist wasn't there the day he had his cleaning is why they had him go back in. Then we had to go back in for our appointment for taxes, I found the Senior Citizens Center has AARP people doing free taxes so we went there and they're all done and filed. I have to put paperwork away this morning.
Maryz, your quilt blocks are breathtaking!
Judi, safe travels!
Lyn, did you find anything to buy?
Chriss, I use my air fryer a lot, it bakes, broils, dehydrates, roasts, air fries and a couple other things, I really love it!
Tonight is Dad's night and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm making, I'm kinda leaning towards spaghetti.
Well Frankie is about done and I need to get busy.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need
Tina

Re: Saturday March 8,2025
Well quiet just went up in smoke, literally! First off, Stuart and his best buddy are fine. Now the rest of the story. They were driving back from looking at a apartment to rent, traveling on I-15, not far from here, when a car door alarm went off showing that a door was open. Nope, all closed, it was then that they smelled smoke and took immediate action to get over to the side of the road, got out and saw flames, moved away from the car and hid on the other side of the jersey barrie, from the burning car.. There they watched the car go up in flames in a matter of a minute or so. The car is toast, nothing left but a burned hulk. Stu had just paid the car off in December, but he had left the compressive coverage on the car. A good thing! So now we deal with the insurance company. So Sarah is there to gather pictures and the boys.
So much for quiet,!
So much for quiet,!

Omg!! Jana, I’m so relieved Stu and his friend are OK. I wonder what caused the fire. Thank our good Lord they were uninjured.
