Today's the day! Laundry day! Move over, Lois, cuz I've got a growling mountain of it to do!
JUDI - how was your dinner last night with your friends? Today is your last relax day, isn't it? Clean and pack tomorrow and leave Friday? What route do you plan to take home?
DIANE - how is the fire situation? We aren't getting too much news here about your fires. How is Joe? How many more treatments does he have to go? Four?
LOIS - did you set your pillow aside until your threads arrive? I usually use Gutterman for applique and buy it when it's on sale at Joann's. Oh well. Guess I won't be doing that any longer. I'm purging as I go through my house this week. So far I have 2 big cartons in the car for donation and when I get to my closet, my neighbor and her twin daughters take all I get rid of and then pass on what they don't want. I don't have to throw out very much stuff at all.
TINA - Glad you got all that dirt cleaned up. Guess we'll be bumping hips in the laundry room today.
JANA - way to find the silver lining in your big dental adventure! But if I were told "soft foods" my go-to's would be ice cream, pudding, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, etc. No weight loss here! I was wondering if you ever finished your JN quilt. You only had to put the sections together, didn't you?
CHRISS - did you get dad's place all cleaned? I bet he's grateful. I bet it feels good to be heading into "planting season". I've tried tomatoes so many times and get nothing for my $$ and effort, so I've only done flowers in pots the last few years, and this year I REALLY cheated and bought pots at Costco that are pre-planted with begonia bulbs. Just add water. I got three for myself and one for a birthday present for a friend who loves flowers but who has a hard time getting around in her yard anymore.
MARY Q - Did you decide on the baby girl quilt? Does it have to be dusty pink? Could it be a coordinating color like dusty green and cream? How about making a quilt of Sunbonnet Sues all in different pinks? You like making Sues. I wouldn't be able to get rid of your mom's stainless steel bowls either. I have a small beautiful set of my gramma's bowls, too delicate to actually use, so they are in my curio cabinet. With a note about where they came from. But I have a set of four Pyrex bowls from the fifties - the yellow, green, red, & blue bowls that most of our mom's had. My sister has Mom's set but I've collected an identical set over the years and I love them. The clear bowls that I'm passing on came from a friend who was purging HER kitchen. I'm not attached to them.

LYN - I am the same - I want to do handwork while I'm listening to things. I can't just sit. One reason I don't enjoy concerts - Can you see us at a rock concert with everyone jumping around and us sitting there with our hexies and yoyo's? lol!!
FLO - that was quite a kid crowd you had! What ages? The older I get the more I love little kids and even the noise they make.
VAL - 9 more days! and only 7 of them are work days, right?
LORI - how are things with Dad? Did you finally get his caregivers on the same page as you?
Yesterday I got everything done that I planned - kitchen, main bath, hallway. And I had enough time left to finish block #21. Once I figured it out it wasn't so bad. I have #22 set up - paper pieces and fabrics are ready to go. It's a much easier one. Today's plan is to clean and dust the stairway and entry (split level house), do laundry, and clean downstairs family room where we spend our winter evenings. Lots of dust waiting for me there since I haven't dusted since October! Bill will help as I can't move the furniture by myself. I also want to get labels on Amara's and Aut's quilts so I can pack up the box that is getting mailed to their house. I'm putting scalloped potatoes and pork chops into the crockpot this morning so the smell of supper will be temping us all day long. I already can't wait!
Take care!
