Can you believe it? February is gone and it's March already. My weather person says today starts meteorological spring. Not sure what that means actually and why the meteors can't share Normal Spring, but that's what it is. So - Happy Spring!
CHRISS - that's a lot of eggs you gave your friends and dad. I'm sure they were VERY Grateful! I like to keep some boiled eggs around, too, for snacking, salads, etc. And if I happen to have a jar of dill pickle juice, pickles gone, I fill it with boiled eggs and let them sit a few days. My brother, Jim, and I love/loved our dill pickle eggs. Bill and Terry wrinkle their noses up. I tried sweet pickle juice but didn't care for it as much. But scrambled is my favorite. What will your job be at the enchilada fest? Will you assemble, cook, or sell? I went all winter without taking vitamins but started again since we got home. This is usual for me. My blood work is always fine, but my energy level is low. Within a week of starting my vitamins again, I'm feeling more energized. I take Centrum Silver for Women or One-a-Day.
LORI - I used to set up my dad's meds, too. He didn't completely trust me but he trusted himself less, so I got the job. I am sentimental and save too much, I know. But I have very few of my parents' things. I could probably count them on one hand - a vase, a small ceramic Santa, a cracked mixing bowl, and my mom's Sunday hat and gloves. I have very little mostly because they had very little. And I have 5 siblings so things got distributed thinly. Make sure you check every pocket (don't forget coats and robes!), purse, sugar bowl, etc. People (especially older people) often hide money and valuables. I knew one person who hid $50 and $100 bills in lots of books. Sorry to hear Dad's not doing well. A hug for him. And you.
JANA - you are organized with all those meds! Do you carry a copy of his meds with you in your purse and his wallet? Did you decide on which Skinnie you want to make?
MARY Q - preemie vests?? I worked with preemies for 20 years and never heard of "vests". (though, I've been out of it now for 23 years so new things are out there) Are they for wrapping tightly? We did snug burrito wraps using receiving blankets. And covered them with little 18x24" quilts that were donated.
LYN - I know those panels indicating all the tank levels are notoriously inaccurate in RV's but sounds like yours is more than just 'levels'. I hope it gets squared away soon. When does the MH go back to the mothership for its annual check-up? If you cut the wires, what will that do? Just stop the red light from glowing?
JUDI - Still another week to go! Hooray! Tell Ken to cool his jets and get busy soaking up the warmth and sunshine while he can. It will be over all too soon. Your rum drink sounds delicious. We have spiced rum and cranberry juice, but I may go out and buy some pineapple juice and do some experimenting.

KATY - I was wondering where you were! Figured you were cleaning something. Happy curtains! They can really refresh a place. Is all the farm stuff signed, sealed, and delivered now? Did you decide if you are going to stay where you are or sell? You mentioned a while back that you were thinking . . .
LOIS - hello??? Are you home?? I got my APQ and BLOCK magazines yesterday. Which APQ patterns were you looking at that interested you? I like the quilt on the cover.
VAL - another thing about FPP I don't think I mentioned - spray starch is your friend. Pieces are often cut on the bias and this helps with 'stretching'. The new BLOCK magazine has an big article and pattern with the basics of FPP. Made me think of you and me!
Yesterday was a whirlwind of medical stuff. Dr. appt for BP check (and I'm good to go there- no meds needed.), Chiropractor appt, then the XR's he ordered (just to make sure nothing happened to my spine when we were rear-ended in Texas last Dec.) I had an hour between two of the appts and there was a Marshall's next door, so, being a good gramma, I browsed little girl clothes, size 3T. And found several summer outfits that I know will be a hit come birthday time in April. I did have time to sew a little but didn't get a block finished. I will do that this morning and start another, the 20th. My good friend, Esther, passed away while we were in Texas. Today is her memorial from 1-4pm. We could walk to the memorial from our house, it's so close, but we are taking our other elderly friend, Norrie, who is 97. So we need to drive into Tacoma to pick her up, bring her to the event, then take her home again. It will be a long afternoon. So no more yardwork here for now - the weather is turning chilly again and rain returns Tuesday. So I guess it will be time to stay inside and start my spring cleaning. But not today. Maybe tomorrow.
We had chicken enchilada casserole last night. Everything enchiladas have but layered in a casserole instead. I cut the tortillas up in bite size pieces. I think, if we are hungry after that memorial reception we'll have the leftovers for supper tonite. And the last of our salad veggies.
I'm hoping for sunshine in everyone's day! And time in the sewing room.
