And this will do it for February! It's going to be another beautiful spring-like 60* day here in Western Washington. The rains will be returning next week, but at least the temps for the foreseeable future are forecast to be solidly in the 50's. And the foreseeable future is the ten days on my phone weather app. And always subject to change, of course.
CHRISS - So you got the eggs at Costco? I still have a little over a dozen. But we'll be back to Costco again next week, I'm sure and we'll have to take an extra wheelbarrow of money if we get eggs. So, was Moose helping you or the squirrels?

LORI - It's amazing how much stuff can be crammed into a house over the years. Even an RV. I couldn't believe all we found when we moved to a new fiver in 2016. Did you find any unexpected treasures or surprises at your parents' house other than 2 months worth of jammies?
LYN - I sure hope other stores like HL and Michael's enlarge their sewing/quilting departments as Joanns closes. Or maybe -wishful thinking here - another whole company will rise like a phoenix from the fabric dust!
MARY Q - nice of you to share your fabrics with the textile center even if you thought they were ugly. One woman's ugly is another woman's treasure. Don't you have a little patio? I think pots of flowers would be amazing there! You could even do sweet peas on a small trellis to give the appearance of privacy. I used to have several pots of flowers on our deck but since we roofed it about 10 years ago I no longer get any sunshine out there. Most flowers want that sunshine. I've been going to the same hair stylist for about 15 years. She's in her 70's, in bad health, and only works 2 days a week. She charges $30 for a dry cut. She's good with curly hair so I keep going. She needs my money.
VAL - Have you tried Biofreeze on your achy parts? My chiro recommended it. For me, it works on some things and not on some others. But when it works, it's almost like instant local anesthesia. I use the spray version on my hip and low back. So, would this $1,000/week just be for one week while the friend recovers? And would this gig be heavy care or more like hanging out, giving meds, making lunch and maybe wound care? And would you stay at this person's house or commute daily? Lots of questions. Some paper piecing hints that have refreshed themselves in my mind with my current project - don't cut too much at once - paper or fabric. Label and bag pieces if necessary. Use lightweight paper like Carol Doak's FPP paper, and make your stitches as tiny as you can, but still large enough to get a seam ripper in them just in case. Because there will always be a few "just in case" instances. Oh, and use small needles and change them often as sewing though paper dulls them just like cutting paper with your good sewing scissors. And sometimes, when removing the papers, it helps to scratch them with a pin or needle. I am excited for you for tackling this M.C. project!
JANA - nice to have a day mostly all to yourself! Did you find trouble in the Batt Cave? And what did you get into? And how nice that your group wanted to know all about YOU instead of just what you could teach them.
JUDI - so?? How was the rum?? Did you buy any to take home with you? I have some jalapeno infused vodka from a tasting adventure we went on years ago in Sisters, OR. Still have half that bottle! Loved that NYB quilt you saw. All done in R/W/B is a terrific idea. Though it's not the same pattern I am doing. Any NYB is a great pattern can be a great scrap buster, for sure! How much longer do you have in FL? It seems like you just got there, but won't tomorrow be 2 weeks since you arrived at the house?
LOIS - have you gotten back into your sewing room yet? I know you've been kind of on a little hiatus.
TINA - I agree with others - you should get your foot X-rayed. I had another local friend who had almost identical complaints as you and she walked around for a long time before they finally took an XR and found a fractured bone in her foot.
Yesterday I finished another couple blocks, but spent most of the afternoon working in the yard. Then, since it was such a warm sunny day, we got carried away and set up our outdoor living room on the deck, BBQ'd, and ate dinner out there. We took the tarp off our big screen TV that's on the wall and it survived the winter just fine. We came inside by 6pm but it was so nice to spend a few hours relaxing, pretending it was summer. We might be able to do a repeat again this afternoon before our temps take a dive again.
Today I have chiro appt at 9am, a dr appt (BP check) at 1:30, and my chiro has ordered spine/hip XRays which I'll get when I go to the dr as they are same building. So my day is essentially shot as far as working outside. What a waste of a warm, sunny day.

Have a Fab Friday!
